Saving a pdf document

I am using adobe reader on Windows 8. I am trying to save a pdf document to my laptop hard drive but it is not allowed and I get the error 'The document cannot be saved. There was a problem reading this document (135)'. anyone got any ideas?
Tony

Where does that document come from; a website?  If so, how are you trying to save it?

Hi, All. Iam using Adobe Document Cloud. After saving a pdf document to this cloud, I am able to see my PC folders as well with a browsing option  . How to disable this? Does my PC folders will  also available across other PC's to access them with my Adobe ID? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

    Hi indi68632954,
I can understand your concern & you need to worry about this, as your PC folders won't be available on other PC's as this option is just to browse through the files of the specific system on which you are working as shown in the screenshot below.
Only the files uploaded on the Document cloud will be available over Internet using Adobe Document Cloud service upon the authentication of your Adobe ID & password.
I hope this will answer your query.
In case if you have any further query please let us know, we will be happy to assist you.

  • Once I've saved a PDF document in Adobe Reader is there a way to add additional documents later?

Once I've saved a PDF document in Adobe Reader is there a way to add additional documents later?
If not is there a way to combine lets say 100 documents into another PDF file at once (Batch export) in PDF Pack software or do I have to add each document one by one drop and drag style?
    Thanks

What has this got to do with Photoshop?
In Acrobat Pro one can combine pdfs (Combine Files into PDF) and Photoshop (not in CS5, but again in CS6) offers File > Auromate > PDF Presentation to combine Photoshop files in one pdf.

  • Signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

Do you mean the drop-down list that shows up when you right-click on the signature (in the Signature Panel or signature field)?
I do not think that just saving a PDF with no changes would result in that unless you somehow flattened the PDF.
Can you see the signature in the Signature Panel? Can you expand ([+] at left) the signature? Does the Signature Panel provide info for this signature? Is the signature validated? If "yes" then is the signature status Valid?
It could be that when you saved the file you somehow flattened the signature, so that now you have only signature appearance in the PDF but not a real signature field which contains all signature properties. If the Signature Panel does not contain your signature (enpty if your signature was the only one) then this is the most likely cause.

  • Saving a pdf document to my computer

I converted a Word document to a pdf document using Adobe PDF Pack. How do I save the converted document to my personal computer?

    HI,
How to Download Files to your computer
All exported/converted/combined files are stored at https://files.acrobat.com and you can login with your Adobe ID and password.
Or at Web UI you can click “FILES” next to “TOOLS” at top or click “View All files” in the file list of “Export from PDF” tool ( or “Convert to PDF” or “Combine Files” tools for PDF Pack users) that will redirect you to the above site(https://files.acrobat.com)
From Reader you can click “Store Files” under “Tools” and click the link of “Open Acrobat.com Files”

  • Saving a PDF document from a website

When a bank has a document for you on its website, when you click the link a PDF document appears on the screen.  There isn’t a menubar on the document, however when you hover the mouse cursor over the document, this toolbar appears
It’s obviously supposed to allow you to save, print, scroll, or adjust the magnification of the document, but nothing I do to this toolbar does anything. I’ve tried right and left clicking on the toolbar, ALT clicking, CTRL clicking, and SHIFT clicking and nothing has any effect. I end up right-clicking somewhere else on the document and printing it to a printer connected to my computer when I’d prefer to save it as a PDF document. Do you know how to use this toolbar?  If you know the answer, please feel free to email me a [email protected]  Thanks for your help.

  • Saving a PDF document in Preview.app Corrupts It

If I take any PDF that is searchable (say from Apple's site) open it in Preview.app, and do a "Save as..." the resulting PDF is not searchable. I can properly cut and paste text from the original, but from the saved PDF the text is corrupted. Is this a known issue?

Preview is not really a PDF editor. You can do basic stuff such as add annotations, insert pages, but you cannot add hyperlinks.

  • Documents saved as ".pdf" documents when uploaded to a server

I am a very new Webmaster for a non-profit with an iMac using Leopard. I'm using Pagespinner and Fetch. When I need to attach information sheets in pdf format, I open them in Word, then use the "pdf" option under the Print command (and remember to uncheck the "hide extension" command) to save in "x.pdf" format. I check the links out offline and everything works and the downloaded test file looks perfect. But after I upload them to our server using Fetch, and test them "live", the downloaded x.pdf files all come out looking "corrupted" with 95% blank pages. I have tested and re-tested. All my predecessor's .pdf attachments look and work fine but I don't know what technology he used. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to buy a professional PDF software package?

I don't think you need to buy a professional PDF software package. Uploading a file to a website and then downloading it again should not change it.
Is fetch uploading in binary mode when you place the files on the webserver? I don't use fetch so I'm not sure where that setting would be, but if it is like any other FTP client it will have the setting somewhere.

  • Saving a pdf document to my iPod Touch Gen 1

I have a 16gb Generation 1 (Dec 2007) iPod Touch running system iOS 3.1.3 and I love it!  I shall be taking a trip and do NOT want to carry my MBP this time (vacation!) - but do want my iPod Touch with me.
I'd like to have a large (28 mb, 262 page) Guide in pdf format on my iPod Touch as well as some pdf maps.  How to copy then to my iPod Touch?
    Thanks for any comments!

Thanks for the FAST reply - I will check on this NOW and report back later (gotta clean the garage, mow the lawn, do my finances…  is this Sunday or???)
Really appreciate this - am looking at a program for my iTouch called FileApp - will see if that can work as well.  Ideally I can just transfer pdf files when I do my daily sync with the cable (uploading daily news podcasts and such that I pull-down from my MBP each morning at 6am etc.)
    THANKS AGAIN,

  • PDF document looks different in Adobe Reader 8.1.2 than in Acrobat Standard 6.0.6

When I saved a PDF document in Acrobat Standard 6.0.6 and later opened it using Adobe Reader 8.1.2 it has stray characters (or rather little rectangles taking up the space of one text character) in different places on the page.
Opening the same document again in Acrobat verifies the document still looks like the original, but opening it again in Adobe Reader shows the stray characters or boxes.
What is causing the two programs to render the same document differently on the screen and in printouts?

I mean open first PDF file by mouse double click, then double click another PDF file, both are opened in 2 separate windows.

  • Why do my converted to PDF files have run on pages? I saved the original document as I wanted the pages and wording to be and now its all ran together.

If this problem cannot be solved, I want a refund.

We need to know what the original document was (Word, Excel...etc). Also, how are you saving to pdf?

You're in the Adobe Acrobat Reader forum which is a free product. Would you accept a check or money order for your refund?

  • I need to be able to access a PDF document on my ipad when I am offline and save it to print later when I am connected to wi-fi. I can not figure out how to do this (to be accessible offline and saved). Please help.

I type notes between therapy sessions and frequently do this in my car without wifi available.  I need a way to access PDF files that I can type in and save and be able to AirPrint from when I am connected to wifi at a later time,  I currently have these documents saved in Dropbox and open them on my ipad or iPhone in Adobe Reader but don't have a way to save and use offline. I tried iBooks but it doesn't allow me to edit.  I need specifics on how to do this please. I bought an ipad to make my mobile work easier but am still using my iPhone for everything because I can't figure how to easily access and edit PDF documents offline. Thanks in advance.

search the app store for PDF Writer. I've found a lot that will convert documents to PDF, but none yet that will write within the PDF. One thing you want to avoid are cloud based apps. Any of them that talk about editing on the cloud, etc, aren't going to be as standalone as you want.
It's possible, if you can take your template PDF, turn it into a word document that you can edit, you can then convert that to PDF...kinda a workaround way to do what you want. And apps that convert to PDF are much easier to find

  • How do I create a folder to which PDF documents are automatically saved?

I save many PDF documents which I then attach to various internal forms.
Is there a way to create a folder to which the scanned document can automatically be saved without having to browse for the folder every time I save a document?

Unless your scanning software has that feature, "Save as" opens up a "browse" window by default in Windows or Mac. I had an old Lexmark scanner that allowed setting a default save location for "bulk scans", but I haven't seen that feature in years.

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.
