Saving a powerpoint presentation with audio as a movie

Hi there
I'm stumped. have a powerpoint presentation with embedded audio and would like to save it as a movie for upload.
any recommendations on how to do this?
I tried the powerpoint 'save as movie' command but it didn't preserve the timings or audio.
Thanks!

Hi,
If the PowerPoint presentation is self-running (you've set the presentation to use the timings you rehearsed), the only way I know of is to use video capture software. PowerPoint's export movie command seems more or less useless. One recommended by MacWorld is Snapz Pro X2 w/video capture. I've used it successfully to capture a 30 minute presentation complete with 44.1 hz/16 bit CD quality audio narration/score at 1200 x 900 resolution. This is on a Unibody MacBook Pro, which is rather impressive, given the computer is both playing the presentation and capturing both video and audio and saving to disk. However, there are other video capture apps that might also work, such as iShowU HD. I've only used Snapz Pro so far.

  • Import PowerPoint presentation with audio

    Hello,
I received a PowerPoint presentation with audio which I'm trying to import into Captivate. I can import the presentation just fine but the audio is not included.
    Did I miss something?

    Hi there,
Thank you for reaching Adobe Community.
Which version of Captivate you are using?
Is the powerpoint presentation a .ppt or .pptx?
    Thanks!

  • How can i stream my powerpoint presentation with audio video content to the display devices

i wanted to stream my Power point presentation with audio/video content inserted in between the slides how can i achieve this requirements
is there any harware or software available for this
    Please let me know
    Thanks

This is not a straightforward procedure. I normally take the exported PPt file onto a windows machine and import the video files into PPt before sending to a client
Once the folder is copied to windows, the video files have to be imported  again manually to relink the files as they loose the link in the export
Check that the video files are copied into the same folder as the Powerpoint file
The only file types playable from Powerpoint in widows are:   mpeg   wmv   avi
Use wmv for  best quality and compatibility

  • How do I play Powerpoint presentations with audio with Keynote?

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Like a lot of people, I have several powerpoint presentations that I obtained while I was a Windows user. While Keynote can open them and play some of the transitions, many of the effects will not play, including the audio.
Is there a way I can reformat the presentation so I can view/play it properly in Keynote? I am wanting to resolve this issue so I can remove MS office for Mac from my machine.
I would be most grateful for any help that anyone could provide with this enquiry.

Keynote isn't at all good at dealing with audio, so whether it's worth trying largely depends on the content of your powerpoints and how many you need to transfer.
If it were me, I think I'd look at using OpenOffice - it may make a better job of things for you.

  • Delete audio after saving presentation "with" audio

After saving a presention with the option to save audio "with" the presentation, I can no longer delete audio from any slide. Is there a way to delete audio in this scenario?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Seth answered about the choice when importing the PPT. You can add a click box to each slide, it will pause the slide at the end of the click box timeline, so be sure to adapt that timeline.
Do you want to add audio in Captivate? You have to know that every PPT-slide will be converted to sort of a video slide in Captivate, which makes synchronizing with audio not that easy.
Adobe Presenter would be easier to use (and be sure, I am a Captivate freak myself, but will rarely use PPT, but directly Captivate)

  • Saving a PowerPoint Presentation as a pdf from With Outlook Code

I'm trying to write a macro in Outlook that will open a Powerpoint Presentation (that part works) then save it as a pdf.  The code I've seen does not seem to work when running the code from Outlook.  Here's what I've got so far, all the commented
lines are my attempts that are based on msdn code.
    Sub PPD_PDF()
        Set powerpointapp = CreateObject("PowerPoint.application")
        powerpointapp.Presentations.Open "K:\PPD Minutes.pptx"
'PowerPoint.ActivePresentation.ExportAsFixedFormat "C:\Users\rhammond\Documents\test.pdf", ppFixedFormatTypePDF, ppFixedFormatIntentScreen, msoCTrue, ppPrintHandoutHorizontalFirst, ppPrintOutputBuildSlides, msoFalse, , , , False, False,
    False, False, False
        'ActivePresentation.ExportAsFixedFormat _
        '    FileName:= "C:\Users\rhammond\Dropbox\PPD\" & ActivePresentation.Name & ".pdf", _
        '    FixedFormatType:=ppFixedFormatTypePDF, _
        '    ppFixedFormatIntentPrint,
        'PowerPoint.Application.ActivePresentation.SaveCopyAs( _
        '    "C:\Users\rhammond\Dropbox\PPD\PPD Minutes.pdf", _
        '    ppSaveAsPDF)
    End Sub

Would you not want to replace the PowerPoint variable with powerpointapp?
    And prefix ActivePresentation with "powerpointapp."?

  • Powerpoint converter hangs with converting PP presentation with audio

    Hi all,
I've been using Captivate v5 before. Now I've starting Captivate 6 and now I've got an issue:
When I import a Powerpoint presentation (2003) with a  voice over, made in powerpoint, the powerpoint converter hangs. No response on any click. The taskmanager gives a CPU load of a continues 15%.
This procedure did work in v5.
When I delete the voiceover in Powerpoint and import this presentation, it gives no problem. All the settings are default. Do I have to configure something??
    regards,
    Bert

    Hi there,

    Close Captivate.
    Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
Rename the Captivate 6 folder to anything.
    Try to reimport the project.
    Windows Vista/7:
    Close captivate.
    Go to C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
    Rename the Captivate 6 folder.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why can't I open my Powerpoint presentations with Keynote in my new Ipad 4 although?

Im using Icloud to share the powerpoint file from my windows to my Ipad. But, I still can open my powerpoint presentations neither in my Iphone.. Can someone help me, please. Thank you.

I have checked the list of supported cameras and mine appears to be there.
Yes, the Panasonic FZ45 is listed but it was first supported by Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 6.2.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Then go to this table to see which versions of Photoshop are compatible with ACR 6.2: CS5 and later. Not CS3.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
So your options are to upgrade to CS6 or subscribe to CC (check out the Photoshop Photography Program: PS CC + Lightroom 5).
Or download the free DNG converter, convert all your FZ75 Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS3

  • Can Keynote play PowerPoint slideshows with audio intact?

  • Need to play Power Point Presentation with Audio in Keynote

My wife and I have lots of Power Point slide shows with audio from the days when we were windows users. We have downloaded a trial version of iWork 09 and would like to know how we can play these .pps files that contain audio in Keynote.
We appreciate any help that anyone could provide as we would much prefer to use Keynote/iWork than MS Office.

That's interesting about NeoOffice. I keep a copy of it up to date but don't use it too often.
This may be too involved for the OP but I would play the file in NeoOffice and record the audio with WIreTap or similar, export it as an MP3 file and then import it into Keynote.
WIreTap can have its input source set to Mac Audio so that it will record from any application that is capable of producing sound.

  • Creating a presentation with audio, video, narrative, and slides

What is the best solution to create a presentation that shows a slide show with background music but also allows for a speaker to show some keynote slides in between. I'm giving a report of a recent mission trip abroad and would like to show pictures of the different regions we visited but also make comments and show slides along the way possibly including some video clips. I heard iDVD is good for the slide show. Any comments??

Actually it's the other way round. iDVD is primarily for making DVD's. You can make a keynote presentation and export it for iDVD for display on a dvd player.
Keynote has a range of transitions that determine how you move from one slide to the next. You should download the free trial if you haven't done so already. If you are putting together a presentation you should use keynote as it is primarily designed for presentaions
