How do you save a QT mov so that it can be viewed, but
not saved by the viewer?

Well, I'm sure that locking it helps, but you should keep in mind that any content that can be viewed can be re-recorded, thereby giving the user an editable copy. whatever locking it used to do (before QT7), will help those people who aren't determined, but anyone who REALLY wants your movie will get it anyway.
I should say too that I've never been very impressed with whatever quicktime does to keep me from downloading the movie. I can almost always get it anyway, EXCEPT when it's a streamed movie, which I haven't come up with a way to record to disk just yet. (that is, a free way... I'm sure there's software I could pay for that would do it.)

You don't have to. iPhoto does that automatically. Note the command in Photos menu to 'Revert to Original' and the original can be exported at any time using the Export command.

All edits in iPhoto are virtual. The database records your decisions and then applies them to a copy of the original. So your original is untouched. Your edited version is never "fixed" until you export it.

I'm trying to figure out how to get QuickTime movies (taken with a video camera) off my pc and onto my iPad2. I can watch the movies on my pc using QT. I bought QT Pro and installed on my PC to convert the files to a format that iPad supports (like mpeg4). I converting the files to mpeg4 but they didnt play on iPad. Do I need a different video player on iPad than the default video player? Do I need to do something else on the iTunes side?

My only guess at the error message is the very odd 13 frames per second recording. I don't know what to suggest.

Let me give you a program that takes in a string which has some items that are comma delimited and then parses the string on the basis of the delimiter, takes out only the non-repeating strings and writes it out.
This is not a very complex program, but will give you one if you request again.

In addition to what imagecollection said, for some regular repeat patterns you may (also) use Effect>Distort&Transform>Transform with Move and Copies, possibly multiple times with possibly different copy numbers (such as twice for horizontal and vertical), symbol or no symbol.

My personal choice would be to use MPEG Streamclip (free) with the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($20) installed to manually convert your files. This does, however, assumed that you cane either download/copy your DVD content directly from the camcorder to your hard drive or can do so from the DVD when inserted into your computer. This, therefore, assumes that you have finalized the DVD (if required) and it is either inserted into the computer or the camcorder is properly connected, powered, and recognized as an external device. In most cases, users forget to "finalize" their DVD and most devices (other than the camcorder itself) will not recognize the content until the disc is properly closed.

First you need to copy the entire iTunes folder from the
old computer to the new one. You should also make sure
that anything on the old computer that goes on the iPhone
is present on the new computer.
If it is a Mac, this process is usually pretty easy by using
Migration Assistant which will transfer all that stuff over to
the new Mac.
If you are using a PC, I will defer that to someone else for
all but the iTunes stuff. You will do the same thing on the
PC, that is copy the entire iTunes folder to the new computer.
Migration assistant is available to move things from a PC,
but not sure how well that works.
When openning iTunes for the first time, you will need to hold
down the Option key on the Maccbook Air and you will
be presented with a dialog box and you will select open existing
library and navigate to it. Failure to do this, will create a default
library with nothing in it and you will have to move stuff again.
So if all the data is the same, you should be able to sync
just fine.

If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.
