Donalds suggestion was great, up to the part
about the email. Since you dont have an internet
connection, I am not sure how that would work.
Though if there is enough room on the jump
drive, which there should be, after you "print"
it to PDF (after selecting print there a dialog
where you can choose a pdf. Then just save to
somewhere logical.) The jump drive will act like
any other mac disc.Just plug it into a port and it
will show up on the desktop. Then just drag the
PDF file onto it and go. Hope this helps.

  • Saving a score part

    somebody can help me with the following problem?: after saving a score part and closing and reopening it, everything get mixed up (though nothing is lost) and I will have to reorganize everything again. Luckily I always make a pdf but still it is a hazzle.

    mate you probably need to make sure you are using instrument sets for each part. also that you are opening to the correct instrumnet set.
    - use KC for create instrument set from selection to create an instrument set for just that part.
    - set the size of it in the instrumnet set editor.
    - do your layouting.
    - layouting gets saved to the instrument set.
    - make sure you open to the instrument set and not just "ALL INST"
    bear in mind that printer resloution is much higher than screen resolution so while your markings might look a bit all of the place on screen, you can check where they really are by zooming in to quite high zoom levels. chances are they will be in the correct place. also, you should do fine layouting at those high zoom levels for the same reason. it might look right on screen at a low level but that doesn't mean to say that it will really be there.

  • How can I retain hyperlinks while saving a webpage as PDF via Print?

    How can I retain hyperlinks while saving a webpage as PDF via Print?
    This is the title of an apple forum question, and it is a bug in both Safari 5.1.3 and under, and I find it to also occur in Firefox browser (at least 9.* 10.*, 11.0), running on Lion OS (10.7.2, 10.7.3). See:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3212301?start=0&tstart=0
    Under the newer Mac OS mentioned, and Firefox 10.2, 11.0, 9.*, if I select:
    File -> Print -> PDF -> Open PDF in Preview"
    (and view / save the PDF in Preview, you will see none of the links in the original web page are active
    or using
    File -> Print -> PDF -> Save as PDF...
    same problem. Try this using any Wikipedia page, for example.
    When this problem was posed in Apple forums, by a user of the Safari browser, it was found to be a bug (since Aug 2011) fixed in a Safari browser build 5.1.4 circa Jan 2012. I tried the newer Safari browser and sure enough the problem went away (except that links embedded in the PDF no longer appeared as blue text - ARGH - but "hover over" with the cursor showed the link and clicking the link in Preview viewer activated the link in a browser window).
    So I post this to the Mozilla community, please fix this 'cause I don't want to have to switch over to Safari browser every time I want to archive a PDF with active links!!!!
    P.S. I did a spot-check and with the newer add-on Enjoy Reading 1.0.1 and FF11.0. When the Enjoy reading formatted version appears in the browser window, all URLs/links are preserved and highlighted in blue, but when I print that browser window as PDF, the links are dead (don't work) even though they appear in blue in the PDF.
    So, what's going on, can the Safari fix be researched and applied to FF?
    Also, on some forums, people are responding, Well, try installing Acrobat reader. Well, I don't want to, Preview reader has worked fine for me for years.

    Thanks jscher2000.
    RE: -- '''Generally speaking, PDF converters that work by intercepting a print job do not have access to the URLs behind links in the page.''' --
    I cannot say I agree. I could email you a PDF clipping or two (generated from Safari on Mac OS, in its native capability with no add-ons) that shows you otherwise. When I used PC platforms I did have to install PDF converters (tried both free and expensive ones) that did what I describe.
    I cannot try the add-on you mention, '''Print Pages to Pdf.''' in Firefox. It shows in my browser and Mac OS platform "Not available for your platform." So I am guessing it was written for the PC version of Firefox.
    The Mac OS has had a native PDF-creation functionality for as many years as I have been using it; I used PC prior to that, Win3.1 through XP and NT. And on my PC, I bought (and at work, my employer bought $$$, I had to justify three levels up to management the ability to create PDFs on my work PC) some Adobe functionality to CREATE pdf's (readin's free and easy, makin' em's costly on the PC).
    I've gone and dug through some of my (Mac) doc and clipping archives, and I find that stuff I created after about Dec 2008 or so seems to eliminate all link functionality. When viewed in the Apple native "Preview" application (sort of Apple's equivalent to Adobe Acrobat reader, ships with the OS): link tags are highlighted/tinted, clicking a link opens a (default) browser and takes you there; hover-over the tag text shows the actual link. (Of course, not all old links are still VALID or point to the desired source.)
    I could, in Safari or FF browser window and with no add-ons or Adobe paid products whatsoever, use the native OS method to create PDF's from any application (word processor, spreadsheet, browser, etc) via the menu File -> Print -> Save as PDF menu and create a PDF that had active hyperlinks. In Apple OS Lion 10.7.3, I still can't when it uses this broken WebKit interface, links are "dead" as a doornail until a fix is distributed in WebKit for a future Lion release. It seems this functionality died at least as far back as Leopard OS 10.6.8, but don't quote me on that. Also, my version of Pages 2009 version 4.1(923) (sorta like Word) STILL creates a PDF document that preserves (1) text hyper-links within the document, and (2) web links (in the PDF) that open the browser. I just made a test document.
    When all you can see in the PDF is the tag text, there is nothing to copy-paste to follow any link. Also, hypertext links are often used by authors to create links to other points in a document: now even *that* is broken in the PDF version of the documents I retrieve from the web and print from FireFox (Broken in Safari 5.1.3 and earlier but fixed in 5.1.4).
    Try this on the PC, in your browser and print a news clipping as PDF, do the links in the PDF work? What products do this, and what don't? I would bet the machine with a full Adobe suite this will work flawlessly. (Why should a PC user have to pay hundreds of $ to create this functionality in what I thought was an open standard (PDF)? But that's talkin' religion, let's not start that.)
    Some folks might say,
    go online and find the original source doc in your browser. Or,
    go and add those links manually using the Preview edit add-link capability (hunh? no thanks) , or
    save each item worth saving as an HTML archive instead of a PDF (argh, creating a whole directory in the process, I might add, including ads). Or,
    who needs PDFs, everything is online.
    Or, buy some Adobe product.
    I think they miss my point. This is a real strange dumbing-down of archival PDF documents, or at least a destruction of the ability to use PDF as an archive that retains its links and references.
    C.F. the guy who has archives of scientific papers, and the old material all cross-references nicely but after date X there are no working links.

  • Hi , how i can print attachment from macbook , i also saved that attachments but cant find print option

    hi , how i can print attachment from macbook , i also saved that attachments but cant find print option

    Normally one would open the attachment in the appropriate application (e.g., MS Word for a Word document, Preview for a PDF, etc.) and use that application to do the printing.

  • Saving a pdf file using the print command

    I'm having a problem saving a document to pdf using the print command. I'm using an old version of Adobe. it's Adobe Acrobat 6. it is giving me the following error The instruction at "0x775355b2" referenced memory at "0x775355b2". The memory could not be "read". Could someone please help me resolve this issue. Thank you.

    The OS and release version of the source file's authoring application have a significant impact on use of Acrobat 6.
    For example, Acrobat 8.1 is where Vista support begins.
    With MS Office, Acrobat 6 PDFMaker compatiblility is only for Office 97, 2000, XP, and 2003.

  • Score loses formating when printing to pdf in Logic Pro

    Logic Pro 9.1.6 shows score ok in page view but when it prints to pdf the formatting goes weird with notes dropping off the stave. How do I fix this so I can print a score?

    Michael: I have tested other programs ability to print to Acrobat and also tested ability for other programs to
    export to Excel or Word. The only crash is when printing an Acrobat pdf from Morningstar Principia Pro I get a bad crash. The work around is to print to XPS and then convert the XPS file to Acrobat pdf. To get out of the crash which can't be fixed by Windows Task Manager shut down, is to open the printer file and tell the printer to delete the pending print job.
    I'm using latest Version 9.3.4 Standard Acrobat; Win 7 Pro 64 bit, 10 g of RAM, HPE 390t standalone PC, no networking.

    I have problems with uploading images to my internet printing company when  the images have been manipulated through CS6 and  i have saved images as jpeg  the printer company tell me they are not j peg,
    but images saved from my phone or camera images that have not been manipulated upload fine, What am i doing wrong?

    Save/Export them as JPG. Photoshop defaults to PSD, so make sure you select JPG and not just rename the file to .jpg.
    There are two ways to save them as JPG: Regular Save as option or Save for Web & Devices
    Take your pick.

  • Saving High Scores

    Hi,
    I have a written a small game as a Java applet. I would like to add the ability to store high scores in a database on my webserver. I was thinking of calling some PHP script which I have written which would handle the server side task of adding the score to the database. But I'm having difficulty calling the script and passing some basic parameters such as username, score from the applet. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. Some code examples would be great.
    Thanks in advance for any help,
    Raz

    <applet
       code="Game.class"
       archive="game.jar"
       codebase="/games/Game/"
       name="Game Name"
       width="300"
       height="400">
       <param name="username" value="Bob">
       <param name="game" value="GameName">
    </applet>You can pass data like that, which you can easly set up with your database. That's how I manage saved games and scores on my games. If you pass "-1" for the username if the person hasn't signed in, you can use this code:
    public Score(Applet applet, boolean isDebugging) {
         DEBUG = isDebugging;
         user = applet.getParameter("u");
         game = applet.getParameter("g");
         if (user == null || user.equals("-1"))
              canScore = false;
         else     canScore = true;
    }That's the constructor I use for my score class.
    url = new URL("http",v"www.siteaddress.com", "/dbcodefilename.php");
    URLConnection connection = url.openConnection();
    connection.setDoOutput(true);
    PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(connection.getOutputStream());
    out.println("u=" + user + "&g=" + game + "&s=" + score);
    out.close();
    InputStream in = connection.getInputStream();
    byte[] b = new byte[in.available()];
    in.read(b);
    response = new String(b);And you can use that code to pass the info you're wanting to pass.

  • Saving playlist made in windows to print in jpeg or PDF format

    In mac os x when printing CD playlist, one has the option to save as PDF file for later use.
    How can one save a playlist made in windows as a PDF and or jpeg file?

    You need to install a PDF virtual printer. There is lots of free ones. I've used pdfcreator.com and it works fine. Once that's installed as a printer, highlight the playlist in the iTunes window, go up to File in the menu bar and select Print. When the box opens up, select the PDF printer and then Print Be aware that the software has to convert each page so it might take a little time for really large libraries.
    At the moment, I'm having trouble with my PDFs and I suspect it's caused by the latest version in iTunes. The artwork looks fine in preview but comes out a black square in the PDF. Up until the latest update, it's worked fine for years

  • Saving a Mac Word file by printing to PDF not possible anymore

    I have a  old version of Office v.X for Mac that will no longer allow me to save files by printing them as  save to PDF. I think the problem occured when I switched to Mac OS X 10.6.8. Does anyone know what the problem maybe and how I can fix it?

    Try opening up Font Book from the Applications folder. From there highlight all the fonts and try to validate them. Remove any duplicates as well.

  • Business Objects saved pdf instances not matching the printed

    Hi ,
    I have set up a schedule in business objects to print a report (crystal report) and save it to pdf. The report does not export exactly as printed to pdf , it is compressed. This is true even if I directly exported the report to pdf from Crystal. Is there any way I can have the exported version match the exact printed version.
    Thank you,
    Manjula

    Hi Ted,
    Thank you for your quick response, I searched the site and found that this is a known issue with Crystal although I'm not sure if it is because we are missing a hot fix.
    The solution provided was to add a registry key "ForceLargerFonts" under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BUSINESSOBJECTS\ENTERPRISE\11.5\CRYSTALREPORTS\EXPORT\PDF.
    I did that and  it has not fixed the problem for me.
    Thank you,
    Manjula

  • Saving high scores in LMS

    Hi,
       I'm using Captivate 7 on Desire 2 Learn (D2L).  I would like to have students be able to take a quiz in Captivate multiple times and have the D2L maintain the highest of the attempts.  Is this possible and, if so, is it a Captivate or a D2L setting?  Any suggestions appriciated.
    Thanks!
    Bob

    Hello,
    When you deploy on a LMS this is typically a functionality of that LMS. However not all LMS's, even though SCORM-compliant have the same bunch of features. So you'll have to check out with your LMS-gurus.

  • When printing a book to PDF, bookmark definitions are not saved

    I recall seeing another post about this issue and I can't find it now, but none of the workarounds mentioned there worked for me, so here goes:
    I am working on a book migrated from FM 9 to FM 11, and when I print to PDF, I specify the bookmarks I want to display in the Bookmarks tab of the PDF Setup for Selected Files dialog. The PDF prints fine, but when I want to print the book again, FM doesn't remember my settings, forcing me to set the bookmarks from scratch every time. This has proven pretty tedious seeing that I'm working with an old book in which the styles aren't intiutive, so trying to remember all of them every time isn't the best of fun. When I print a single file in the book, the settings are saved properly.
    In the previous post, I remember reading that this was a bug in FM and trying the following suggested workarounds (none of which worked): Switching to structured mode; saving the desired setting in one file in the book, printing that document, and then printing the book (was supposed to result in FM remembering the settings for the entire book); saving the book right after it prints; selecting all files in the book and saving as PDF, as opposed to selecting the book and then File > Save as PDF.
    I'd be glad to know if anyone has any ideas, or if Adobe are planning to post a fix for this issue.

    It is my understanding that FrameMaker uses the setting stored in the first document of the book when creating a PDF from a book. So, open the first file in the book and make a PDF, setting your bookmarks as you want for the whole book. Then create the PDF of the book. Check the settings before you click Print to make sure they are what you want. You may have to make a few changes, but it should remember them the next time.
    I work with FM 9, so this may not be relevant to FM11. I find it necessary to open the PDF settings dialog each time I make a PDF of a book, and click Save/OK/whatever, to make sure the bookmarks are created correctly. The settings are always correct, no changes needed; but I find it necessary to open the dialog and close it to get the bookmarks correctly indented in resulting PDF. It may have been fixed in FM11.

  • Why doesn't saving a print preset for selection printing work anymore? It previously did up to version 2.

    I regularly like to highlight areas on web-pages, select print/name a print preset as "Print Selection" and check-mark 'Print Selection Only' of Options under the Firefox sub-heading. Then when I wanted to quickly print a selection instead of a whole web-page, I just highlighted an area, activated print, selected "Print Selection" and then checked print preview to view the selection before printing. That worked from version 2 only.
    Now in version 3 +, all above can be done '''except''' the check-marked 'Print Selection Only' option in the Firefox sub-heading keeps resetting itself, even IF you have saved it check-marked as a print preset. Selecting the saved preset "Print Selection" next time will print (preview) the whole web-page, and not what was highlighted (selected) for printing. Why was this feature turned off?

    Open Windows Event Viewer -> Custom Views -> Administrative Events. Look for the recent error messages with timestamp corresponding to Skype crash. Copy and paste here the text from the General tab.
