Saving a Slide Show

I CANNOT seem to save a slide show such that I can fine it again.
When I hit "save" in the Slide Show Editor, it gives me this message:
SAVING YOUR SLIDE SHOW PROJECT ENABLES YOU TO MAKE CHANGES TO THIS SLIDE SHOW LATER. YOUR SLIDE SHOW PROJECT WILL BE SAVED TO THE PHOTO BROWSER WITH TODAY'S DATE. YOU MAKE NEED TO CLEAR YOUR CURRENT SEARCH IN ORDER TO SEE IT.
So, I click "okay" and then exit out of the Slide Show Editor and go the Photo Browser. Then I get this message:
YOUR SLIDE SHOW HAS BEEN SAVED AND IS SELECTED AT THE TOP OF THE PHOTO BROWSER.
And then I can't find the slide show ANYWHERE in the Photo Brower.
Can anyone help me with this?????? (Please?)
BTW, this is with Photoshop Elements 4.0. I use a PC.

>I DEFINITELY tried this. The Creations menu was empty. Does that tell you something?
Well it does not sound good.
1- Do a File > Catalog > Recover
that does a Catalog cleanup.
Does that make any difference in what you see displayed?
2- Then try this -
go to the View menu > Media Types and only have Creations checked.
Be sure that you are viewing All Photos(in order to satisfy the Clear your Current Search instruction of the message) If you use Folder Location be sure that all Folders are being displayed.
What do see now in the thumbnail area?
Be sure to go back to View > Media Types and recheck Photos and others. The settings for Media Types are sticky - so if you do not go back and recheck the others, you will wonder why you can't see your photos next time you use PS Elements.

  • Saving a slide show when catalog runs from flash drive

A little background - I manage two separate classes of students who use the same laptop with PSE8.  Each student has their own flash drive to save a custom catalog for the PSE8. Each time students open PSE8 they load their custom catalog.  All image files are saved onto the flash drive.  We have been using custom catalogs because our computers have Deep Freeze installed. This system has worked well for images.
When saving a slide show there is no way to specify where the slide show should be saved.  I assumed that the slide show would save to the catalog which is sitting on the flash drive.  Unfortunately, this is not the case.  How can I save a slide show on a external flash drive?  I want students to be able to save and be able to reopen their slideshows.
    thanks,
    Robert

    Robert,
Right now,I am looking at my current PSE 7 install on Vista. There is a .psess file type which contains slide show project information. I suspect that this might be the file you are seeking.  And I think this file exists with the same purpose in PSE 8.
For PSE 8, you might find those files under a folder structure of
    ..... \Elements Organizer\Catalogs\name of the specific catalog\projects
I desginated the dots at the beginning of the folder structure because they could be different depending on what version of Windows is running and potentially even other installation choices specific to that machine.
Therefore, you might try searching for the .psess slide show project file type.
Note 1: I am not sure v8 will place the project folder and the .psess files in your case where you have used a custom location for the Catalog that is on a flash drive. Please post back here with the location where you do find the files
Note 2:  I suspect that if you are teaching syncing to photoshop.com, you might also need to be concerned about the location of the syncdb folder. My guess would be that it is near that project folder. If you do determine the syncdb location, please also post it back here. Thanks.

  • Saving a slide show with the music

I have set up a slide show in Iphoto '08 and selected the music to go with it, but when I try and select "Save Settings" it does not save the settings... well at least it does not save the song I put with it. How do I save the song to the slide show.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for your response.
I did what you said. I am not sure what happened. When I opened iphoto and went to the slide show the song was darkened that I wanted without me doing anything. I "saved" again and when I played it the wrong song came up. When I saved it the song I wanted was not darkened any more.
Maybe what I need is instructions on how to do this.......step by step.......Kind of a newby to iphoto and macs. Maybe it is saving it and i just do not realize it. I just checked it and the song I want is darkened.
    Thanks again.

  • What is the best way to save and copy high resolution slide show?

Creating and saving/burning slide shows in iMovie or iDVD does not appear to give the same high resolution as playing slide shows directly from iPhoto.  Resolution is also lost when exporting the slide show to iTunes.  Is there a recommended technique to preserve resolution when saving a slide show?

Click the "Export" icon on the bottom of the application window.
Click the "Custom Export..." button on the bottom left hand side of the new menu that appears at the top of the application window.
At the bottom of the next window click the "Options..." button.
Under the "Video" setting, click the "Size..." button.
Next to "Dimensions:" click the "Compressor native" drop down menu.
In there you have "1920 x 1080 HD".
There are a bunch of other options, so explore and find what works best for you.

  • Your favored output for slide show

I have just upgraded to PS 7 w. Primiere, and have assembled a slide show of photos that I took on a group tour of China. There were 35 in the group. If I distribute DVDs at NTSC high resolution of 720x 480 (I think), will that provide the highest quality slides without causing problems for many persons -- will the DVD give a good slide performance for those viewing with a digital TV, analog TV, and PC/Mac, and the latter with a video projector, assuming that they all have DVD players that will read the format?  What are your favorite way of saving a slide show that provides high image quality but is flexible enough to be shown in various settings.
    Thanks

  • Pictures lost in Slide Show

I added pictures from my flash drive into a slide show in Elements 6.0.  I saved the slide show as a project.  Several days later when I opened the project from the Organizer, the slides were black except for the text I had added.  I assume I have lost the link to my pictures although I have not moved the flash drive since I made the slide show.  How can I retrieve my pictures?

The photos have never appeard in Organizer because I imported them from my Flash Drive directly into the slide show.  I have, however, opened,
edited, saved, closed, and reopened the slide show several times and the pictures were in the slide show. Now, all of a sudden, they have disappeared.
I was hoping to avoid saving the pictures in Organizer before adding them to the slide show... must I do that?

  • Elements 8 -help with outputting slide shows to File?

Can anyone help with saving a slide show in created in Elements to a file on my laptop? I know a WMV file is created, which option should I select to save in UK widescreen format 16:9?

    Bob, thanks for prompt answer.
I am ultimately going to write the file to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker. Is the 16:9 format the DVD-PAL 720x576 option, or the High 1024x768 option?

  • Help? Dvd Studio Pro 3 (Slide show) Glitch?

I'm new to mac's, and am currently in the process of upgrading at work to the computer editing side of things, but I'm having problems with creating a slide show in DVD SP3.
My system i'm creating the slide show on is a Power Mac G5, OS 10.4.5
The problem is that in the simulator, everything seems to be fine with how it transitions through the images (I'm using standard dissolves)... but, when I take the burnt dvd and play it on dvd burner/players (normal units with the tv, I've tried 3 dvd players so far), I get some weird shifting in the images, so it plays fine for a second or two, then looks like it's whacked out of focus slightly. It seems random to me... My first thought was that it had something to do with the dissolves... but sometimes it starts right in the middle of the image.
(I'd tried finding this exact problem on the forum, but am still baffled.) I tried saving the slide show as a track as well, but it still does it. The weird thing, is that on some systems it seems worse than others. However because this is something my work is offering to customers, I am left with trying to find some way of fixing this problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated...

As drew suggested, if your having issues with the slideshow side of DVD SP, then bring your slides into Final Cut Pro and assemble them there, (with the transistions of your choice.
Export them out as a self-contained Quicktime movie and encode that movie into a Mpeg2 file. Import that file into DVD SP, (author your project in DVD SP and burn to disk.) All of the issues with things not looking the way they should, will have gone away.
Apple really hasn't dealt with the scalling issues in DVD SP, which is what is causing the shifts, in the transistions of Slideshow presentations. You will also see this shifting issue, when creating your own tumbnail buttons, using Mpeg 2 movie footage (from your project) and let DVD SP scale it to the button size your created, (it just looks wrong.)
This is why most of this scalling is done outside of DVD SP, in other programs and then brought into DVD SP.

I have tried much of the same - still no joy.
I also reported it as a bug to Apple although the response page said "we can't reply to messages"
For now I have had to turn off auto syncing and keep plugging and unplugging until the device is recognised correctly - about 1 in 10.
In my email to apple I also listed the contents of the xml file that keeps track of the devices that iTunes has seen:
    When seen as an ipad:

  • Can't find saved slide show

I created a slide show in Photoshop Elements.  Saved it as "Untitled Slide Show."  The message said in order to retrieve the project, go to media browser and use the date the slide show was created.  I don't know where to find Media Browser.  Help!

Hi. How are you doing? Did you find the Elements Organizer Slideshow?
Hi ATR,  I'm doing ok.  Better now that I figured out how to find projects, thanks to you.  I managed to get the project out of Elements 9.  It gives me two choices of saving to a file.  Either a wmv or a pdf.  The pdf file is much clearer than the wmv, but has no music.
When I save to a wmv file, the photos loose some quality.  lso when I burned to a CD, some of the quality is lost.  Reckon why that is?
I see that your thread is still here in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum. Did you get a chance to re-post your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum yet?  No, haven't been back to the forum.
I am concerned that you might have overlooked saving the slideshow project and therefore it was gone permanently when you shutdown the Slideshow Editor for the last session of the preparation of that slideshow. Hope not. I gave up looking, started from scratch and re-did the whole thing.
If by some chance, you saved the .wmv version of the slideshow instead of the slideshow project, at least you will have a file, but that .wmv cannot be opened and edited like the slideshow project file could.  I remember making a couple of slide shows a few yrs ago and everything worked like a charm, but was a different version of Elements.  It seems like this version (9) isn't as friendly.  Or maybe its just me not knowing my way around that well.
Hoping for the best. You have helped me a lot.  I do appreciate it.
    C ya down the trail,
    Hosslady

  • PE9- Saving slide shows - always stops working at 94% of .wmv file

I have a 40 minute slide show with music. When I output to .wmv file, PE9 always stops working at 94% of download, whether I use the maximum or the high resolution settings. I have a powerful computer with all the bells and whistles. I'm disapointed that E9 does not perform as advertised. Any solutions or comments beyong what's in the release notes? Any fix for this soon? Thanks to all.

Most probably Premiere Elements is causing the rotation you are experiencing
That is because the recent versions of Premiere Elements do not recognize the rotation indicator set in a photo file.  However the Photoshop Elements Organizer does recognize a photo orientation indicator set within the photo file when displaying thumbnails and displaying the photo file.
At this point for this slide show,
it might be simplest to initiate an edit in Photoshop Elements of each of the portrait orinetation photo files that are in this slide show -- so that the pixels within the photo file itself can be rotated and saved as a new photo file. .
    In the future,
-- it would probably be simpler to multiple select thumbnails in the Organizer and rotate those photo thumbnails (once 90 degrees  and then a second time back in the opposite direction 90 degrees).
-- most cameras that set rotation indicators in a photo file also have an option not to set that indicator which then usually results in portrait orientation photos displaying sideways in the Elements Organizer until you rotate them yourself. (to me this is a second choice approach but it is a possibility)

  • Unable to locate saved slide show

I created an album, and then a slide show containing almost 200 slides.  I was sure to save and name it; now I can't find it.  When I open Photoshop Elements 9 there are no menu items,( i,e, File, View, Edit)  across the top, so I see no way to "Open Saved Project".  I can see the album listed on the right, and can access the original photos from there, but I can't find the slide show.  Would LOVE some help as it took me hours to create, thanks.

There are many ways of finding your slideshows in Photoshop Elements Organizer.
    1. If you know the name of your slideshow(s), you can search for them using the Search box at the top left of the Media Browser (the area with your image thumbnails).
    2. You can have the Media Browser only display projects (such as slideshows):
    A: Go to Find>By Media Type>Projects (keyboard shortcut Alt+4).
B: Go to View>Media Types and uncheck all other types besides Projects.
    3. If you know when you created you slideshow(s), you can limit what the Media Browser displays to that date range (Find>Set Date Range or by using the Timeline (under the Window menu)).
    4. If you are in the Folder Location Display mode, navigate to this folder:
    A: Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\PSE9\projects
    B: Windows Vista/7 - C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\PSE9\projects
