Saving a Slideshow in LR 2

Hi! I am new. I have just created a great slideshow in LR2 that I want to save. How do I do that? I spent a lot of time on it, so I don't want to have to redo it. Do I burn a disk or export to CS3 or what? Thanks in advance.

Click Slideshow>>Export PDF Slideshow or Export JPEG Slideshow.  The pdf <br />slideshow is self-contained.  Export as JPEG saves all the jpegs for use in <br />another program like Flash or Powerpoint.<br /><br />Michael<br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Hi! • Saving a slideshow

    I'm using iphoto 4.0.3 OK. I've searched for the answer here and in iphoto help but no luck. Maybe I'm not thinking this through correctly. I want to create a slideshow with music and transitions... then burn it to a dvd. No problems making the slideshow. But what happens to it when I tell it to save the changes? Does it save THAT version somewhere so I can burn it? Seems like all I can do is export the group of photos... but I end up RE-SELECTING music and can't get my transitions. I'm starting over. The help section just says, "select the slideshow in the source list...". That makes it sound like my saved slideshow is waiting somewhere to be selected and burned or exported. That's what I want. But I can't find anywhere that says..." In order to SAVE YOUR SLIDESHOW WITH YOUR MUSIC AND TRANSITIONS AND THEN BURN IT TO A DVD, follow these steps". What am I missing?

    When you save your slide show settings that is just for the slide show in iPhoto. The slide show is not saved as a file. just your iPhoto settings for a slide show.
    To burn a slide show to DVD you have to export to Quicktime and create a slide show movie - which will have its own settings.

  • What is error 8971 when saving a slideshow as an MP4 movie?

    I'm new to Lightroom 3.  I made a slideshow and followed all the directions in the manual to make the slideshow and save it through export video.  When I went to send it as an email attachment I got an error message it could not open the file because of an error code 8971.  What does that mean?
    I also wanted to add some music and selected that option which took me to My Music--the folders were there but the playlists under the album were not so I couldn't select them for my slideshow.  In the tutorial Ms. Kost seemed to have a different box where the music files were that were compatible with Lightroom 3.  I couldn't find those anywhere.  Jeannie 19

    Hi Pete,
    Thank you for responding.  I still get the same 8971 error message after downloading the latest Quick Time.  Earlier I had tried installing and reinstalling the whole Lightroom until I heard from you and that didn't work either.  The slideshow plays great in Lightroom.  It is just when I got to export video and it saves it--it looks as though it saves it okay--it just won't play it. But it sounds as though this is the area to focus on.   Jean

  • Poor audio/video synching when saving LR4 slideshow

    In spite of its relatively limited capabilities I put quite a bit of effort into creating slideshows, e.g. sequence of images, duration, and some other nice touches in order to do the best I can.
    In a recent slideshow I was able to re-order the sequenc of images such that in a few places the image was appropriate to the words of the sound track.
    Happy with the result I exported the slideshow as a video at highest resolution.
    When I watched the MP4, I found that the synching that was there in LR4 was completely out!
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
    Let's back up a bit. You have created a slideshow. This is your media. iDVD creates a DVD to distribute your media in a specific format (DVD). Instead of using the files from iDVD (which have been compressed for DVD delivery) go back to the original media and re-compress for web content. You don't want to keep compressing-decompressing-compressing and so on. Stick with the original media and compress for delivery.

  • Saving a slideshow without exporting?

    Is this possible? I want to do a few different slideshows, but I can't seem to find a way to save them without exporting. This is a pain because every time I want to make a change, I have to start over and re-export.
    Surely I am just missing something, right?
    Thanks in advance

    Try trash your com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

  • Saving a slideshow with themes to quicktime movie, probs

    Not sure what im doing wrong here. Ive made an album of 60 photos. Ive set up slideshow with music (set to fit slideshow to music,snapshot theme). When i play it it works perfect. If i then go to export to quicktime it asks "display image for ? seconds" well i have it set already so that its supposed to fit slideshow to music. if i export it,the movie just shows the full screen photos without the snapshot theme. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

  • How do I locate the slideshow file I was working on & saved?

    I created a slideshow and now cannot locate the file?  I rearranged pictures and added text and cannot find my changes.  The original pictures appear but not with my changes.  Any help out there?

    Hi,
    In your catalog there is an option to show Projects only... In this case only Slideshows and PSe files will be shown..
    Just go to View > Media Types  and select only Projects...
    You should be able to locate your slideshow.. If not, are you sure you saved the slideshow project?

  • Saving slideshow

    I am saving my slideshow with music on a CD.  I will be giving it as a gift to someone that does not have Photoshop Elements.  Will they be able to open and view it?  If not, what is the best way to save it on a CD so they can easily view it?  (they are not very computer literate)
    Thanks!

    If you are creating a slide show using PSE and burning it to a disc, then it can be played to any normal player or computer. You need not to install PSE at all to play the slide show.
    Thanks.

  • How do I save a slideshow (iphoto 09) and share it for use in a dvd

    I created a slideshow in iphoto 09 and want to save it and then share it with another person who will be adding it to a dvd with movies. I originally created the slideshow and then sent it to idvd and then saved it as an .img file but the file could not be imported so I was looking for an option of simply saving my slideshow and sharing it but I can't find a way to do so.
    Thanks

    Actually you should have selected the 640 x 480 size or 720 x 540 size as iDVD will reduce what ever you choose to the 640 x 480 size as that's the default DVD size.
    Also try using the Share ➙ DVD menu option which does all of the work for you and import the resulting QT movie file of the slideshow into the iDVD menu.
    Once you have the iDVD project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • I am losing music with slideshows in iPhoto.

    After a recent automatic update (I think to the operating system), the iPhoto program began losing all music associated with slideshows, seemingly whenever the power was completely shut down.  I am using iPhoto 11, version 9.4.3.  After the power has been shut down, the music files previously associated with the slide shows are no longer associated.  I can see my iTunes library in the iPhoto program, but it will not let me add music, and gives me an error message something to the effect of, "...cannot be added because the original file cannot be located."  If I go into iTunes and create a new playlist, I can then again add music to the slide shows.
    I did not have this problem prior to the recent updates.  Is there a way to maintain the link between the iPhoto slide show and the music even if the power is shut down?  It seemed to be able to do this prior to the recent updates.
    Is there a way to save the entire slideshow to a file or DVD, so I can simply play it from a DVD or re-load it?
    This seems to be an issue with the recent updates required by Apple.
    Thanks.

    1. As a former and current PC user, I have had several problems because I failed to update PC programs as recommended (security patches in Adobe Flash Player, etc.).  I assumed Apple was the same way; the programs would generally work better and be more secure if I installed the recommended updates that periodically arrived from Apple.  Perhaps I am mistaken and you could offer some better suggestions.
    2. I am using iPhoto '11, version 9.4.3.  It may not be the version I was using when I initially encountered the problem a few days ago.  When it happened, I checked the Ap store for recommended updates, and there was one for iPhoto, so I updated to see if that would fix the problem.  It does not seem to have fixed it.  I purchased this iMac as my first Apple system nearly two years ago, and have been using the software that came installed on it, altered only (as far as I know) by the recommended updates.  I generally really like it.  I am using Mac OS X version 10.7.5.  I don't know how to check to see if the iPhoto version is compatible with the OS X version
    3. The exact error message is, "The song "____" could not be used because the original file could not be located."
    I have some slide shows on the iMac that we put to music out of iTunes and play on the iMac.  As long as the computer is put to sleep, and not shut down, the link to the music remains.  If the computer gets shut down, the iPhoto loses the link to music files.  When I open iPhoto, the slide show is there, but the music does not play with the photos.  When I open the music settings, I can open and see my iTunes library, but when I drag songs into the field for the slide show, it will not allow the songs to remain in the field.  I then double click again on the song I just tried to add to the slide show, and the error message above appears.
    I went to the support page, and it suggested that I close iPhoto, go into iTunes, copy the iTunes Music Library.xml file to the desktop, go back into iTunes, create a new playlist, then open iPhoto and try again.  Going through this process seems to allow me to again add iTunes songs to the slideshow.  I just lose everything again whenever the power shuts down.  I thought saving the slideshow onto a DVD might work, but I have not figured out how to do that yet.  Is that a reasonable solution?  I could potentially save them to a DVD, flash drive, or the back-up Airport disk.  It appeared in the support community that people had difficulty with saving the format when the slideshow was saved directly from iPhoto, but that it worked better when first transferred to the video program (iMovie?).  I have never used the video program and don't know if I even have it.  I welcome any suggestions you may have.
    4. I have not noticed any other strange things with iPhoto.
    Thanks for your help,
    B

  • Creating Apple TV photo slideshow in Windows/Converting .mov to Apple TV

    I have a newly purchased 160 GB Apple TV and am having some difficulty creating a slideshow. Ideally, Apple would offer iPhoto for Windows or I would own a Mac, but neither is currently true.
    So, what is the best/easiest/cheapest way to create an iPhoto-esque slideshow in Windows XP? (transitions and audio track)
    In my initial attempts to accomplish this task, I have created a slideshow using QuickTime. I opened a music file in QuickTime, then opened an Image Sequence in QuickTime, then copied the image sequence and Added and Scaled to the audio track. Finally, I saved this "slideshow" as a QuickTime movie (.mov). This isn't ideal, because there are no transitions and if the photos aren't all landscape it's troublesome. Nonetheless, I tried to open this QuickTime Movie then use the Export to Apple TV conversion process. Unfortunately, QuickTime basically just freezes when I try this. The progress bar never moves from 0%. Any advice here?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The simplest way to make a slideshow without adobe photo elements is simply to put collections of photos into folders and sync them to the tv. tv will allow you to add transitions and add a soundtrack from any music you also have synced. In the current version of tv the ending of the slideshow is a little abrupt but I'm sure it will improve in future versions.
    I can't think why QT won't convert your QT (slideshow) movies, perhaps you can tell us a little about the movie. Open in QT, open the movie info window and post back the info you find there.

  • SlideShow transition IE finally working except

    Well I finally got it to work with 2 small problems.
    Hopefully someone has come across this and knows if there is a solution.
    Problems:
    1) not everything is staying centered on the index page when changing the window width in IE browser and emulating ie7. It works in Safari and FireFox and my other pages in IE browser NOT emulating IE7.
    2) the shadow boxes are not working on the index page... again in IE browser and emulating ie7.

    The SlideShow transition fix:
    I added the following meta tag to my index page:
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
    The (Slideshow basic) did not work and I had to use the (SlideShow with filmstrip) as stated by (W Bell)... link provided by Gramps below.
    I could not install the slideshow with filmstrip directly into my page from the widget browser in dreamweaver...  From the widget browser I saved the (SlideShow with filmstrip) files to my hard drive and copied spry folders and html code into my page.
    ======================================================
    Have a look here http://forums.adobe.com/message/3480458#3480458
    Gramps

    That's correct I could not get the basic to work and had to use filmstrip... and strip out every thing that I did not need... the slideshow with filmstrip did not work when I used the (insert widget) in dreamweaver. as mentioned above. I am new and self taught myself, hope this helps.
    I also found it very helpful to use a code checker, links below
    http://http://validator.w3.org/
    http://http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    I ran across the issue of the (panandzoom  going off the image and it showing black) I believe it has to do with your css code most likely width and height. below is the only css code I am using that relates the the slideshow.
    myMain.css file:
    #home .container .content #ImageSlideShow {
    width: 684px;
    margin: 0px auto;
    border: solid 2px #000;
    padding-top: 10px;
    overflow:hidden;
    z-index: 1;
    position: relative;
    Basic_fs.css file:
    .BasicSlideShowFS {
    width: auto;
    border: solid 0px #000;
    background-color: #000;
    position: relative;
    margin-top: 24px;
    padding-top: 10px; /* This should be the margin-top of .ISSClip but it is here to work around an IE6/IE7 collapsed margin bug. */
    .BasicSlideShowFS .ISSClip {
    clear: both;
    width: auto;
    height: 432px;
    margin: 0 10px 10px 10px; /* margin-top is specified as padding on .BasicSlideShowFS to avoid an IE6/IE7 collapsed margin bug. */
    overflow: hidden;
    position: relative;
    /*border: solid 1px #AAA;
    background-color: #000;*/
    .BasicSlideShowFS .ISSView {
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    .BasicSlideShowFS .ISSSlide {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    text-align: center;

  • Slideshow dissapeared after export, now slideshows don't work at all.

    I made a slideshow with many pictures a very few video clips. (All video clips but one were created/edited in iMovie then exported).
    I exported the slideshow and imported that export into iMovie to adjust music, etc.
    Everything exported perfectly and imported to iMovie perfectly. However, once in iMovie I noticed that one of the video clips in the slideshow didn't export properly.. only the sound worked, but the scene remained blank. This video was the only video that came straight off my camera, trimmed with quicktime, then put into the slideshow instead of going through iMovie. So, I put it through iMovie like the other video clips then added it to the slideshow. I opened the slideshow, and the only thing inside was the video I JUST added. Everything else (all 300 pics and 4 vids) were gone from the slideshow. They were in the right order and everything was perfect!! NOW, I'm trying to start over and it wouldn't let me move a video clip into the slideshow, and NOW it won't even let me move pictures into the slideshow!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PROGRAM!?? AND, is there any chance iphoto happened to have saved my slideshow somewhere where I can restore it? I read somewhere to hold the option/command key? while the program starts to restore, but I don't know what those optinos mean... will i lose stuff if i use those options?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    is there any chance iphoto happened to have saved my slideshow somewhere where I can restore it?
    Are you referring to the slideshow you exported or the slideshow within iPhoto? The one in iPhoto is kept in the library's database. You can try rebuilding the library as follows: backup and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.
    Click to view full size
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key and selecting the *+Choose Library+* button.
    Are you trying to continue with the original slideshow in iPhoto? I'd trash it and start over with a fresh one. The old one could be damaged. Rebuilding the library might fix it but if it doesn't then it's best to start over with a new one.
    Any reason you didn't create the slideshow in iMovie. By doing it in iPhoto and exporting to Quicktime and then importing into iMovie for more editing causes additional encoding of the slideshow and can degrade the image quality.
    Are you up to date with all of the software and system? How much free space do you have on your boot drive. How big is your library, i.e. number of photos?

  • HELP! Missing photos in Slideshow!  Need for Grad Party Saturday!

    I am panicking!  I created a slideshow in Elements last night....spent HOURS on it and was not done.  This morning when I went in to finish it, about 50 of my pictures that I had downloaded to the slideshow (toward the end of the slideshow) will not show up--only black, blank boxes are in their place!  I saved the program and exited it numerous times in the work process last night, and the photos were always there.  Now, I they don't show up--I can add more with no problem.
    I have Elements 7 and am running it with Vista Home Premium.  I am in tears over this--the slideshow is for my daughter's graduation party Saturday and I have no time to work on it except today!  I have tried opening it as the Administrator to no avail.  I do not have the "missing photos" (???) thing under my "File" icon.  And do not have the money to pay Adobe for their phone support....I can't tell you how important this is to me to have done for my daughter and her party, and I do not have the time to go back through all of the CD's that I have to download the photos a second time.
    Can someone PLEASE HELP!!! ???
    Thanks!

    I know this reply is way too late to help you. But I'll give my 2 cents in case someone goes thru this thread looking for answers (as I did not long ago).
    I had the same issues with PE6 on XP Pro - missing pic for some of the slides after compiling to an output file (.wmv). And my symptoms were similar, missing usually the pics at or near the end of slideshow. I compiled/output the file several times, and noted the different file sizes of the compiled .WMV files, some larger, some smaller (missing more slides). Each time I recompiled the slideshow, different pictures would be missing - sometimes the last two, sometimes the last 4, sometimes 3 slides near the end but had the final two slides appear...frustrating, always a different result. I thought it was a resource issue with my PC since every slideshow had only missing slides near the end of the slideshow...not enough memory, CPU power, etc during the compilation? I toyed with the settings - closed resident memory programs, disabled internet...anything to increase memory (I had 2G of mem on a P4 cpu desktop) and reduce interrupts to the CPU, etc. NOTHING worked. So I loaded PE6 onto my laptop which had 4G mem, Dual Core 2 CPU. SAME RESULT - missing slides! Not sure if it was a resource issue at all, or if it was only part of the problem.
    So, I researched further into this forum, filtering thru hundreds of threads looking for the answer. And I found one semi-relatd, which suggested that the image size was too large. It did not make sense since all my pics were the same size, so why only the slides near the end of the slideshow?? Well, it would be a pain to reduce the size of all the pics in the slide show, so I only reduced the last quarter of the pictures (mostly the ones usually missing), leaving the first 3/4 of the pictures their original size (about 4000/3000 pix). The author of that thread mentioned that PE had issues with video output on pictures greater than 2000x2000. So I reduced the last 1/4 of my pics to 2000x1500 (they were landscape format). Saved the slideshow and then tried another output...IT WORKED!
    Still not sure why only the last 1/4 of the slideshow was affected, and I did compile this on my newer, more power and more mem laptop, so it could be a combination of what I did. Not going to investigate this further...I'm tired. I think the main thing is picture size. New cameras are 10MP-15MP with huge size images (on the default settings), and getting bigger. If this is the case (pic size issue), I think Adobe should really try to fix this.
