Saving a word file..or anything for that matter--?

Howdy
I have always used my apple key and "s" to save word files and stuff as I am typing. The initial time I would get the dialog (finder?) box. i would direct it to where I wanted...
NOW-- I only get options of "documents", "iDisk" etc.... but can not save to a certain FOLDER..
How do we save to an existing folder within the idisk or docs or whatever??

I just tried a Microsoft Word test. I had to click on the down arrow next to iDisk (where I was tring to save it),,, then it flips to an up Arrow... and choked and gasped and freaked out, but did show my idisk folders and worked...
Is this how everyone is saving to a simple existing folder with leopard?? That is way too goofy.

    In this case, I think you need some CSS support to work with your particular database. So you either give them the remote access or backup of the database.
    If you have the Premier contact with Microsoft, contact the assigned Microsoft Account Manager to create a ticket to get CSS support.

    I'm curious if there exists an easy way to optimise a keynote - or even a pages file. If you cut and paste a 2000mp image into a slide, but you resize it, is there a way that iWork apps can resize the image when you export it to pdf or another format?

    And there are literally tens of thousands of sites of which I've not heard, too. Not this one.
    It's legit. There are lots of links in Apple Support Communities to the LibreOffice web site, as well as others that are legitimate open-source developers of options to buying MS Office, such as NeoOffice and OpenOffice. I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.

    All I had to do was complain.  I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store.  I have no idea why.

    There's less money to be made from compatibility than there is from "forced upgrades."  Why would AVID be concerned with their older product working with the new OS when they can release another version for people to pay $250+ for?  Free bug-fix download vs. latest software upgrade?  You've got two companies with virtual monopolies on the pro audio market.  It's a win-win for them.
    So what does that say to me about the handful that do not?  The incompatibility is a marketing decision, not a shortcoming.
    Am I close?

    I want to use a Microsoft Word file for my report as template. For example I will write following text in word file.
    "Dear Mr, &<column_name1>
    You are invited to offical dinner by &<column_name2>."
    And my report should generate the letters for all the employees (using the same look and feel as given in word). Here <column_name1> contains list of all employees and <column_name2> contains list of their supervisors.

    I bought micro SD cards (patriot brand from Fry's) and when i insert them into my card reader they mount to the desktop as "read only" with owners enabled "no"
    What? How am i supposed to drag music files to it for use with my phone if it is "read only"
    And since there are no "owners", disk utility wont even let me reformat or erase it.
    this is really disturbing. I tried the SD card "lock" switch in both positions and it always mounts as "read only."
    has anyone had this problem? or know how to overcome it? Maybe the cards are bad and i need to return them.

    the card reader i was using which is built into my printer was set to read only mode!

    I have put threads on the PDF forum, they told me to put it on Illustrator forum and still know one has an answer, Tried to contact Adobe about this and just got a run around. Can anyone please help?
    My problem results from when I save my file from Adobe Illustrator to a PDF for printing. After saving from Illustrator to a PDF and proofing it on screen all my gradients and other elements are where I need them to be on the page. But when I upload them to my printing company template all the gradients and so on are not even close to be in the right spot. How can I solve this problem, Is there a new setting in CS4 I need to know? Because I never had this problem with Illustrator CS3.

    I'm far from an Illustrator expert, but let's see if we can gather som more information form you that might help me, or someone else, figure out what's going wrong. Can you post a screnn capture of the arwork in Illustrator so I can see what the gradients are and how they're positioned? Use the little camera Icon thing in the toolbar above the message editing space on the web page.
    Next, tell us about the printer's template. What application is it made in? What version?
    What version of Illustrator and what OS are you using to create your art?
    Is it only the gradients that are in the wrong place? Maybe a screen shot of that would help too.

They are schematics for projects I like to work on but cant seem to open them and cant find anything in the app store for .cap files. any suggestions or apps you know of to work with this type of file?
