Saving albums in organizer to "my pictures"

I have created a "best of" album in my organizer that contains pictures from MANY different years of pictures. I would like to have them in "my pictures" on my computer as well. Is there a way to do this? All I can find are the folders that contain pictures for the different years that I have uploaded into the organizer.

You would have to create a folder in My Pictures, and then write duplicates of your photos to this folder. If you would like to do that, then select all of the photos in your album, then File->Export->As New Photos, and export them to the new folder you just created.
In my opinion, a better idea is to simply not do the export and not create the duplicates; instead view the album inside of PSE. It's much less work. (Of course, if you want to send the photos to someone else or somewhere else like the internet, then this paragraph doesn't apply)

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Your Music Saved Albums library disappearing

Recently I've been using the "saved album" section found under the Your Music tab but have had all the albums I saved disappear even the albums that were ticked for offline play. I press the save album button which would save the album under the "saved album" section, in addition the artist of the album would also appear under "saved artist." I would go on and continue saving albums and ticking some of them for offline play, but after a couple of days I noticed the entire library under saved albums and artist disappeared, and as for the saved playlists they were not affected by this erasing. So I believed it to be a one-time occurrence and re-saved my favorite albums and re-ticked some for offline play, but after a week my saved albums were erased again including the ones I ticked for offline play, and like last time saved playlist was not affected, I even regained the storage space I used up to save the offline play albums. This is the problem I'm having with the Spotify app on my IPhone 5s, I would appreciate any advice and solutions to fix this issue, thank you.

I had exactly the same problem. spotify version is 1.5.0.2728 my iPhone OS version is 6.1.6 (model is iPhone 3GS)
It appeared brutally in the middle of using the app. I was navigating through the interface and all of the sudden all my saved albums were not there any more.
Sounds like a critical bug to me.
The only workaround I found was to uninstall the app and reinstall it, with the hassle of resynchronizing all my library.
But after restore, there is indeed another issue :
For every saved album which contained a song which was included in one of my playlist, the album comes back duplicated : one version with only the songs contained in my playlists, and the other version with the full album. Spotify app should detect duplicates !
So I guess you guys have to fix two bugs :-)
Could you tell us if you're working on it ? Do you have a bug tracker ? It's kind of annoying and yes we pay for using spotify.

Rearranging photos in saved album

Here is my question,
1.) how do you control the photo shown on the saved photo album from the main photo screen? ... I have seen how to rearrange the photos in a newly created album via the ... Edit.. select ... Drag function, and it works, but this does not work in the saved photo album, Help.
2.) when I copy a photo from the saved album to a created album, I then want to delete the photo from the saved album so I don't have two copies. However when I attempt to delete I am asked " do I want to delete everywhere?", I don't want to delete it everywhere, I only want one copy in the album I copied it to. Of course, if I had the option to "move" it the question becomes mute. So, how do I accomplish this? Help.

It's possible at least on an iPad 3. Open the album, tap on select, hold down the photo you want to move and drag it.

IOS X Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6, Facebook albums with more than 25 pictures

I have linked my Facebook albums to iPhoto. I started using iOS X Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6 a couple of days ago. Now when I select in iPhoto any Facebook album with more than 25 pictures, it automatically removes all pictures after the 25th picture. However, the pictures remain in Facebook but I want to view them in iPhoto. How can I retrieve them?

The latest iOS (10.10.2) and iPhoto (9.6.1) solved this problem. Thanks to Apple for informing me by phone!

Albums is a way or sorting photos. Photos aren't moved from the Camera roll. The Camera Roll consists of all the photos on the phone. If you delete from Camera Roll they are deleted everywhere but Photo Stream.
Are you using Photo Stream? Your photos, providing they wer recent should still be in Photo Stream. If you have Photo Stream set up on your computer they should all be there.

Your Music: Make all saved albums available offline button

I recently emptied my cache etc. After that, I had to download all 35 albums by hand. It would be so much more pleasant if I could download them all with just ONE button ;) ;)

I recently purchased Foo Fighters Sonic Highways on iTunes. Where is the album artwork, liner notes and pictures? When purchasing/downloading entire album on iTunes, do you get this information with the purchase?

The album cover art should show on the album in the Music part of your library. For other pictures and/or notes, does the album description page in the store say that it's an iTunes LP (does it have an LP label against it in the store) ? If not then you will just get the tracks.

If the drive my pictures were located on accidently got formatted and are no longer found on my hard drive but are still saved in my organizer on photoshop elements can I still use them?

My husband accidently formatted the drive my pictures were located on. He tried to go back and restore but they were no where to be found. Now the photos that are located in my organizer on PSE7 say that the file is missing and it won't let me do anything to the picture. Is there any thing I can do that will allow me to use them. I was not able to back my photos up to a disk before this inccident happened because the burning drive wasn't working right. So other than what is located in my organizer I have no other hard copy of my photos. Please response with good news cause there are quite a few pictures in my organizer that I would love to be able to do something with them because they are all I have left of my dog since he passed away a few months ago.

The only answer I have is not a pleasant one. Your photos are gone. There may be computer services that might be able to retrieve photos from a formatted drive (and they might not be able to retrieve the photos from the formatted drive). These services are usually quite expensive.
PSE has low res thumbnails. You could blow them up in the Organizer to single image view, and then do a screen capture to save these low-quality photos. You would have to do this one by one.
In the future, making backups is a very important step. If your burner isn't working, you need to get it fixed, or you need to get an external hard drive for backups. You are one of a large number of people who have written here that your photos are gone ... and for anyone else reading this far, don't let this happen to you.

Saving Albums, Keyword Tags & Metadata in Photoshop 11

In Photoshop 11, when I create a new Album name or category, do I need to choose "Save Albums to File"? Do I need to do something similar with Keyword tags "Save keyword tags to file"? If I don't do this, would I lose my album names and keyword tags when I upgrade to a new Photoshop program? What about my photo captions? How are those saved? Do I need to select all the photos in the album before I do this?
Also, under File, if I select "Save Metadata to Files", exactly what is saved?
I want to make sure that no matter what program I use my info goes with my pictures.

Most important to understand with the organizer (any version) is that if you want ALL additional information you have added to your catalog to be saved or backed up, and then restored totally, you have to backup your catalog from the organizer menu. Everything is stored in the 'catalog' folder: the catalog itself, a copy of all your media files and a backup.tly file which enables you to restore either on the same location or a new one (new computer, drive, new OS, new OS or PSE version...)

No, the wording is misleading. That command only saves the names and properties of your album panel, not the contents, in a text file. You can restore that structure in another album.

You don't need to if you have a PSE backup, but it may be a good idea, especially if you want to share your tags and ratings with another software (slideshow editor for instance). It's an additional safety measure.
There are three categories of data:
- what is stored automatically in the metadata section of the files (or in .xmp sidecar files) : mostly captions and file 'date original'
- what is stored manually via the 'write metadata to file' command : mainly tags, categories, ratings, notes, captions...
- what can't be stored because it's not information pertaining to individual files : albums, stacks, version sets. That's why you should prefer to use tags instead of albums if you don't need a custom sort order.
As you have seen, you also can save your album structure, and, more important, your tags and categories in text files to copy them in new blank catalogs.

Why aren't my albums viewable from the finder/pictures/iphoto library ?

When I want to import a photo to a website and I choose the picture file on my hard drive then the iphoto library none of the albums that I have created in iphoto are visible. The only organization is chronological and I have no idea where to find my pictures. I end up having to create a folder on my desktop and import the photos there first. There must be a better way!

Click here for information. The iPhoto Library is a Mac-style package instead of an UNIX-style one; this type of package exists in Mac OS 9, which has no UNIX connection.

Pls Advise Why my iPod Touch's Albums: Tiny black screens, not pictures

I've got a 16GB iPod Touch, 1st generation with 2.1 Software Update. I manage the music manually on a Windows XP desktop. I love this device and have been loving it since i got it as a Valentine's gift early this year.
I'd customized some of the album art images with jpgs found online, saved to hard drive. this was especially useful for those albums (homemade) that didn't have cover art associated with on iTunes/Gracenotes or wherever apple goes to find cover art.
The problem now is that in the Music Folder, when I browse Albums on the Vertical (not Cover Flow) view, some images are 1) misplaced i.e. Snoop Dogg's picture where Chaka Khan's should be or 2) images are replaced with a tiny black screen. (this isn't the negative black screen I've been reading about) There seems to be some error in how the Album View Vertical is working. When I flip through the images in Cover Flow (Horizontal) every thing is fine; even the tiny black screens of the Vertical mode show their true picture in horizontal Cover Flow. i'm wondering about the tiny black screen, since I usually get a musical note image if there is no art, not a black screen.
So here are my questions:
1) Why am I getting tiny black screens instead of album art images in the Albums preview screens?
2) Could this be related to some general sluggish responses to the screen at times?
3) I have two total pages of applications that work fine (if sluggish--the NYTimes is a big culprit in the sluggishness department-even blanking out the iPod, but even sweet Wurdle can act up), would this be related?
4) Is there a way to fix this tiny black screens issue without having to wipe the whole iPod clean (sniff! fingers crossed!)

I had the exact same issue and just spent a good chunk of time fixing things. I made note of each bad album - covers were OK in Cover Flow and when song was playing but vertical scroll and tiny thumbnail in the corner of the tracks window showed only a black thumbnail - then deleted these albums from my iPod. Then I went back and re-added these albums to my iPod but added them ONE AT A TIME by showing the artwork column in my library and dragging them over by the artwork and waiting for each album to finish and finish syncing before dragging the next one over. This seems to have brought back the tiny thumbnails and fixed the problem for now. I have no idea why it did this but I think there's an artwork bug in iTunes that needs to be fixed in the next update as many others have said that dragging over too many albums at once seems to cause issues with artwork showing up in general.
I know it sounds like a pain to drag over one album at a time and wait for it to finish but it seems to be the only way to do things for now. Hope this helps.

Saving albums/photos

I'd like to save the albums and photos to an external DVD drive
and then later have iPhoto read the albums from the DVD.
This is to get the photos off my hard drive.

The patchburn may help but since you're able to see the external drive in the Finder it may be that iPhoto will not be able to at all.
Here's a way to help recover some free space on your HD.
1 - run either Cache Out, OnyX or Mac Sweeper to clean out the various cache and archived log files.
2 - run DeLocalizer to remove the unneeded language modules. I saved 900+MB the first time I ran it. It will run under Panther.
If you can't get iPhoto to recognize your external burner you can export batches of photos (i.e. by roll to folder named after those rolls) to the desktop and then burn to the DVD from the Finder. However, that will not preserve any of your organizational information that you're put together in iPhoto but will preserve the image files themselves.
Here's a thought.
1-make a duplicate of your iPhoto Library folder and the open it with iPhoto and delete all of the photos except those you want to save to disk. Delete enough so the entire iPhoto library folder (you need to use the size reported by the Finder, not iPhoto) will fit on a DVD disk. You could then burn that entire iPhoto Library folder to the disk with the Finder. Make sure the folder name is "iPhoto Library". UPDATE: Also make sure you name the disc "iPhoto Disc". Hopefully that will allow it to show up in iPhoto as if it were burned via iPhoto.
2 - after it has burned open iPhoto and insert the disc. If it shows up in the Source window you're home free, if not
3 - close iPhoto and open it with the Option key depressed. When asked to either create a new library or find one, choose find and navigate to the mounted DVD disk and select the folder you burned. You should be able to open it and view.
4 - if 3 is successful you could use iPhoto Buddy to move between the two but you won't be able to copy between them. If you use iPhoto Library Manager, full version, I believe you would be able to copy photos from the DVD version into the library on your HD but, obviously, not the other way.
If the above works then you can go into your primary library and delete those photos you burned to the DVD. Good luck.
