Saving an SMS to a SIM Card

I went on the BB site to find out how to now save an SMS to a SIM card on my new BB Z10 and found this: http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/47561/mwa1340200505520.jsp
However, these instructions do not work as the option "Leave Messages On SIM Card" does not appear. Is it just my phone or is this the case for all Z10 users?
There is no option to forward or save an SMS, and I really need to do this. Otherwise, is their a reliable app to export the SMS?
I ask because I downloaded and installed a Contact App (Contact X) that seems to have completely messed up my phone and I'll have to wipe and start up again. But before doing so, I absolutely need to find a way to archive some SMS.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
K.

I, too, do not have that option on my Z10.  It could be that the article was written before an updated version of OS was released then was not updated to reflect the new OS.
Cheers.

Messaging -> Options -> SIM messages
You will have to copy them to the phone memory in order to read them (the options will be to copy or to delete).
    Hope this helps

  • Nokia 7100 and old SMS messages on SIM card

    Dear all,
I just bought my wife the Nokia 7100 and she very happy with it. One strange thing with this phone is that it does not recognize the old SMS messages that are still on the SIM card. Is there a way to make them visible and copy them to the phone?
    Thanks for your help
    Patrick

i do not believe so, current sim card do not store any text messages unless they are service messages, i suggest that you update your sim card as it appears to be well into age in technology years. you can try to acess sim card messages in the messaging folder and select the option to copy messages into phone memory or memory card if such option exists but again im not sure that there is such opiton. if you do have the sim message option, select left side option key scroll down to copy and you just might be able to copy it to the inbox. let us know what happens.

  • 6630 Saving SMS to memory or sim card

    Blonde female question...
Please can you advise on how to save/move SMS messages onto either the memory card or the sim card.
I can retreive messages from the sim card OK but cannot seem to find a way to get them on it!
The only time I get the option 'save to memory card' is for objects and photos...
Alternatively is there any way to zap them over to my laptop via bluetooth?
I have the Japanese 6630 which is the 702NK but I cannot see that making a difference!
    Thanking you in advance. x

do you mean the pc suite isnt working on your computer? if so, perhaps the pc / laptop doesnt have enough memory to run it? (dont know much about pcs, sorry).
'Now said little devise has said it has copied all but how do I now check that indeed it has and is not just saving my sent messages?'..........
do you mean the phone said its copied all you texs? if so, try removing your memory card. if that was selected as memory for messages, when you put it back in, you'll see whether it did in fact copy all your texs. when you put it back in, they should all reappear
if you have access to the net, try downloading the newest pc suite from the nokia site. its free and will tell you the system requirements before you download it .

  • How can I retrive OUT SIM Card SMS to Desktop?

    Hi
    I have a new Nokia 5300 XpressMusic.
Previously, I was using a Nokia 2100 and I had a few precious SMS that was stored in the SIM Card.
After migrating to my new 5300, I realised I could not read my SIM-SMS. Until I found out that I could access those messages by going into Menu > Messages > Options > SIM Messages
I tried moving all into "Saved Messages" folder through the phone and wham! I can now easily view them on the phone.
Now I want to save those messages onto my PC. However, when I go into Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10.4, I opened up "Archive" folder, and I notice the 'messages' are there. But they are all blank.
Meaning the "name" is blank, "From" is blank, "To" is blank, "Message" is blank, "Date and Time" is 1/1/1601 08:00:00
I can view these messages on my 5300 itself. But cannot be read via PC Suite. Was there a previous version of PCS that could read such messages? Or is there a need for an update for this small issue?
I'd appreciate any help to approach this.
    Thank you very much
PS: Oh and please, if there's anything you are not sure what the hey I'm talking about in here, please feel free to let me know. This is rather important to me.

  • 8300 SIM card is full! Please delete some SMS Text Messages.

I have had my BlackBerry Curve since December of 2008. It has recently started acting up, and my main problem is that it claims the SIM card is full.
    Options
    SMS Text Text
Leve Messages on SIM Card: No
I haven't any contacts stored on my SIM. What gives?
Message Edited by afawcett88 on 09-04-2009 01:59 PM

I finally figured out how to delete SMS text messages from the SIM card.  Open a text that you sent or you received from someone.  Open the menu then "view folder" option.  All of your sent and received text messages will be stored here and can be deleted.

        Hey there Dale1462,
I am sorry for the issues you are having with your Lumia over in the Phillipines.  I understand that cost is a concern, so I absolutely understand why you would use a local carrier sim card while in the Phillipines.
I am unable to troubleshoot any issues that you are having while on another carriers network. Did you have the sim card unlocked by our Global Support team?
If not, please reach out to our Global Support team at 800-711-8300 to do so.

  • Is there a way to access saved sms/mms from memory card on pc or new phone?

I saved my text messages to the memory card and was able to view them in c510 phone. The screen on that phone wrecked and I got a new c510, but the text messages, etc. that are saved on the memory card are not detected on the new c510.
Is there a way to access the saved text messages on the memory card either on the new c510 or on my pc?
Please help...these are very important text messages.

Thanks Dr. Chris...I thought my messages were safe on the memory card while my phone was sent for repair, but the phone was not fixed and I think they did a software upgrade and I can't access my messages on my original phone. I bought a new c510 thinking that it could read the messages from the memory card, but it doesn't. I'm really confused how the messages are saved on the memory card, but there is no way to access them...very weird. Someone should invent something that can do this...I think they would make alot of money.
In future, what is the best way to save important text messages other than saving them to the sim card?

To be honest not being able to send or recieve messages and data is a carrier issue, not a phone issue since u said that your calls are working, if i were you my first course of action would be to get a new sim card from virgin mobile, or to restore the device as new one more time, if you restore the device as new AND get a new sim card from your carrier and those features still dont work, i would take the device to an apple store

    Hi there,
Does anyone know how to transfer all text messages currently stored on a BlackBerry 9500 to the sim card ?
I have a Blackberry Storm 9500 with OS = v4.7.0.78. I have figured how to store new text messages to the sim card but not how to transfer, or copy, old text message to the sim card.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Hey cluxy33,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the questions.
There is no built-in feature to save SMS messages to the sim card.  You can backup your SMS messages to your computer and restore them at a later date.
    I hope this helps.

  • Send sms  through SMSC to SIM card

I interested in java card development and sms sending, I read a lot of specification but Im very confused.
I want to send some proactive command to the sim card via SMS message using smpp through a real SMSC, So How can I do that?
    CLIENT->smpp  SMSC -> ME -> SIM
    First Im sending smpp packet SUBMIT_SM to the SMSC, UDH contains some text message to be displayed to the mobile. 44 69 73 70 6C 61 79 20 54 65 78 74 =Display text
Do you think that is enough to set :
    1: 7f Protocol Identifier: 0x7F = SIM Data download
    and
2: Tag 70 SIM Toolkit Security Header
And data will be downloaded to the sim card?
How and where I should create APDU? where I should specify proactive command?
    APDU: [CLASS][INS][P1][P2] [DATA]
    DATA: D0 18 81 03 01 21 00 82 02 81 02 8D 0D 04 [44 69 73 70 6C 61 79 20 54 65 78 74]
