Saving Animations in CS6.

I have been creating animations in CS4 for years with no problem. I create the animation and then 'save for web' which produces an animated gif file. However, I can't seem to do this in CS6. If I 'save for web' it only gives the option of saving it as an html file (none of the companies I work with can accept these). If I just 'save as' and select Gif - the animation doesn't work at all. At the moment I am having to create the animations on my laptop with CS6 and then open it on my old computer with CS4 to save it for web. This is ridiculous, does anyone have a solution?

  • What is the best tutorial you've found explaining frame animation in CS6's timeline?

While I'd prefer it in book form, I'd be willing to fork over $ for a thorough video demo of frame animation in CS6's timeline. What's the best you've found?

My recomendation would be following something like the links below:

  • Why are my video edits not being saved on Photoshop CS6?

Why are my video edits not being saved on Photoshop CS6?
I made a TON of edits in a video group, then duplicated that group into another file... and all my edits are gone.
I spent hours working on this, so please let me know what the hell happened and how I can make sure it never happens again...
also--why would CS6 come with such a devastating feature?!?! Who came up with this???

    Welcome to the forum.
I did not see any reference to Save, Save_As, or Save_As_a_Copy. Did you use one of those?
    Good luck,

When I saved an Illustrator CS6 file to EPS format, I got "could not complete the requested operation. unknown error."
Google it and find some temp fix. run the illustrator by using "Run as admin" mode and fix the problem, but when use run as, can't see all the original user's mapping drives.
    So still need it fixed.

It is win 7 64 bit system and same error on Illustrator x86 and x64.

  • Saving issues with CS6

Is there an issue with saving in InDesign CS6?  I keep trying to want to "Save" after I make a slight change and the software keeps trying to "Save As" and create a new file.  I will not allow me to save over the old file and it's annoying the hell out of me.

No 3rd party plug-ins.  I don't have any utilities running in the background.
The read only issue I think is the reason.  I'll check on it and get back to you on what I find.
If this is the cause, then would this be a bug with ID?  Why would a file I created on an accessible drive on my desktop or server open up as a "Read Only"?

  • If the folio overlays are created in CS5.5, will they need to be recreated when opening and saving it in CS6?

    Hi,
Do the folio overlays created using CS5.5 need to be created again when changing the file to a CS6 version? For example, a scrollable frame is created in the Indesign file/folio while using Indesign CS5.5. Then later, the file is opened and saved again after CS6 is now being used—it's saved for CS6, no longer 5.5. V27 is being used for DPS. Thanks.

    No.

  • Trouble loading custom saved Premiere Pro CS6 keyboard shortcuts

    Hello Everyone,
I'm having trouble loading custom saved Premiere Pro CS6 keyboard shortcuts. I have a saved .kys set-up file but there is no load button visible in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. It took a while to make the shortcuts. Very frustrating. Any tips appreciated.
    Thanks,
    FB

IIRC ..the "load" is done from a drop down menu giving you the choices of the Default Presets as well as your custom set.  NAmed as per  "whatever.kys"
Did you create them in your current Premiere or are you importing them from elsewhere?

  • Problem saving back to CS6

When I save a file from Illustrator CC to CS6 and then open in CS6, there is an outline of a black rectangle on every document. Why?

no it's not a view>hide artboard issue. This is a 3/8" x 4 3/4" rectangle that shows up on all documents that I saved back to CS6. It is just a black outline rectangle, but the outline has a shadow effect around it. It shows up at the same position in each document. You can't select it, it's just there. It doesn't seem to effect anything and if I export the image/file as a .png it doesn't show up on the .png when opened. Weird.

  • Can you download different indesign animation presets CS6?

can you download different indesign animation presets CS6? to add or replace the originals?

I believe you can import them from Flash Professional CS6. I've never done it, however. From the Animation panel menu, there's a Manage Preset command. You're supposed to be able to load motion presets from Flash.

  • Problem saving animated gif

    Hello!
Just for fun i was planning to edit a animated football tackle gif. I was planning to remove the player who tackle in each and every frame of the animated gif. So it would take some time to finish.
I have successfully opened the gif in CS6 via import Video Frames to Layers.
It consists of 72 layers and i have tried to fix 10 of them just to see how it roughly would look like.
My problem comes when I try to save and render the GIF (via save for WEB).
The 10 first frames of my gif only shows one freezing frame, and then it shows the rest from 11-72 without any problems.
What am i doing wrong, since my edited layers don't show up in the final GIF?

    Right on! Easy solution.
First, the reason your first 10 frames are not changing is because each of those frames shows the same layer (Layer 1).
In your layers panel, you have Layer 1 set to visible and all the other layers are invisible. That's good for Frame 1, but for frame 2 you'll want to make Layer 2 the visible one.
Click on Frame 2 in your Timeline panel and then check the eyeball icon to make Layer 2 visible! Do the same for Frame 3/Layer 3, Frame 4/Layer 4, etc. until you get to the end of the animation!
To address the second problem, the option for Make Frames from Layers is greyed out because you already have frames in your timeline.
Go to your Timeline panel and select all the frames and delete them.
Then select all your layers in the Layer panel, right-click and choose Make Frames from Layers... you should be able to click on it once your Timeline is cleared. It will automatically create frames that go from Layer 1 to your last layer (so, you wouldn't have to do it manually like above ^).
Either way should take care of your problem! Please let me know if this works for you!!
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • Saving animated GIFS

    Hi
I'm having a problem saving an animated GIF in photoshop so the colours match the original photoshop file.
I've tried playing with the save setting, dither, 32,64 colours, adaptive, selective etc but always comes out a lot brighter than the original could.
The file is set up at 72 dpi, in rgb, to the correct pixel size. When I save for web as a Jpeg the colour matches but not when saved as an animated gif.
I need all colours on my web files to be consist in accordance with our brand, please help
    thanks

Make sure that in the 'save for web' dialog, you do not have 'Restrictive (Web)' selected.
GIF is limited to 256 colors so if you are trying to use more, then you are bound to have some color shifting.
Also note that GIF does not support the embedding of color profiles. Start out your original document in the basic sRGB profile. Note that this is one of the many color profiles you use in 'RGB' color mode.

  • Images saved in Photoshop CS6 as PNG or jpeg won't open on Windows computers

I recently saved an image on Photoshop CS6 as a PNG file so I could send it as an attachment to a client (who uses a Windows computer). They told me the file wouldn't open and instead showed as an "Unknown File".
I tried opening the file on my Windows computer, as well as a JPEG version to test out, but both came up as "Unknown Files".
The only way I could transfer the files I saved in Photoshop was to export them as PNG through the 'Preview' application.
Is there a reason why these normal formats won't open properly?

  • File saved in Photoshop CS6 "incompatible" when opened on same computer?!

For the first time yesterday I saved 3 PSD files, (about 760Mb each, large flat 16bit background-only PSD's)  and then have them refuse to open in the same version of Photoshop CS6, Windows 8/64, that they were just made in, an hour later. I just see the dialog warning that they are 'incompatible with this program' ?!
I don't understand how a file can be saved incompatibly with the program that saves it. Is this a bug?  First time I've seen it, if so & do not use any other versions of Photoshop or any other machines for that matter. Am very confused why this happens.
Have reset compatibility mode to 'Always'  (though I don't see why I should have to do this)  and am hoping it doesnt go and happen on some critical save of another file.  My hard drive Raid array is working fine, and I have never had a problem with storage, so its not a random hard drive error, as it happened 3 times in a row.
Saving the same file just now as a TIFF (it has no layers) gave no problem. Guess I'll avoid PSDs without layers for now.

Just to be absolutely sure, it's always a good idea to take a look in your Windows Event Log to see whether any new events have appeared.

  • Thumbnails in Bridge lost in files saved with AE CS6

On Windows I have some templates (aet) from AE 7 and CS3 that include thumbnails in the XMP, and Bridge CS6 shows these.  If I open these templates in AE CS6 and save them out, no thumbnail is preserved/added to the XMP.
I looked through the preferences for AE CS6 and I can't find anything related to saving out previews/thumbnails in the XMP for a project or template.
Is there a setting that will allow me to get thumbnails in the XMP that I would see in Bridge?  Was this a capability that was dropped some time between CS3 and CS6?
    David Blake

I can contact my customer and see if he wants to contact you about his templates that have thumbnails.
The files I am testing with are from Adobe Exchange.  The metadata in the file doesn't indicate who they are from or who created them.  The thumbs are in the screenshot below.

  • File Info not saved (.gif) (Ps CS6 Extended, Mac)

I'm not certain that I've been building my workflow properly before, so if this was not supposed to be supported, I'm open to that possibility:
Modifying the "file info" for a gif file (in my case, "General" tab, "Document Title" and "Description") doesn't actually get saved with the file - or, at least, if it is saved, it's not visible when re-opening the file.
I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was.
(Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
Thanks for any help anyone has...

hi Chris & thank you for your response
it doesn't seem possible to add File > Info to a .png image in Photoshop itself. i've tried it a few different ways.
(shoot, actually i should try adding it again in Ps to a .png file and then see if Bridge can read it. hmmmm??)
in an other thread: [ http://forums.adobe.com/message/5642141#5642141 ] Gene told me that i could select Copyright and Contact Info from the Metadata drop down menu in the Save for Web panel to add the info to a .png image but this didn't work.
i don't know if Ps is having one of its "fits" or what but nothing seems to be working.
after a bit Gene was able to tell me that i can add File Info to .png files in the Bridge Cs6 or CC (no idea what the difference is between Ps Cs6 and Ps CC) and so i tried that and it worked.
however, it appears that Ps still cannot read the data/info when the .png image is opened in Ps itself. Only readable in Bridge.
which brings me to an other Q ... what's the point of Copyright info that can't be read? i am not being sarcastic i just really don't understand. granted, i need to read up on this topic but was hoping you could share your thoughts/knowledge w/me   oh, and if you have any handy links i would also much appreciate it. thanx 4 ur help!!
