Saving as a PDF file

I received this error when trying to make my form a PDF: "Some content on the PDF is too large to fit on a single page." however no guidance as to which parts of the form are too large, so I don't have any idea how to fix it!
Please advise, thanks

Hi,
In the error message:
Click on the link to "Design Tab", this takes you to the "Design Tab" and sets the "View" mode to "Page View":
There is a pop up by the "View" selector at the bottom right that lets you know you are now in Page View.  Page View is for designing your form for PDF, Web View is for designing it for the HTML/web form.
In Page View the contents that do not fit on the page are highlighted with a red overlay:
There you can adjust the contents to fit.  This FAQ on designing your form for PDF will give you some pointers on Page View:

  • User can't open presentation saved as a PDF file

I sent a presentation saved as a PDF file and the user could not open it.  The error message received was that his computer needed Adobe Flash Player 16.0.  Despite installing it, he still gets the same error message.

Problem was solved by doing another installation of flash and rebooting.

A PDF is really an electronic print of your document & is not intended for future editing. You should always save a copy of the original document in the program that created it & use that for edits. You can then export or print the revised document to PDF, again saving the original.

  • Saving books as PDF files?

Is this possible to do in Aperture? I just started with the book design feature and wondered if a finished book could be saved as a .pdf file. Thanks.

Yep - you can do Print->Save to PDF, or you can Place an order for a book, and when you get to the confirmation dialog to review the book, you can open up the PDF, save it somewhere else, and cancel the order.

  • I have scanned about 1600 pages of 100-year old documents and saved them as pdf files.  I would like to search them for keywords and phrases.  Can anyone recommend software that can be used as an index for these documents?

If you have Adobe Acrobat (not Adobe Reader) the program can perform an OCR on the document you acquired.
In the past I used ABBYY FineReader

    Hi Melbus_SE,
Are you downloading files from your Acrobat.com cloud storage? If so, what browser are you using, and are you on Mac OS or Windows? Has something changed on your system since you were able to download/open PDF files successfully? What version of Acrobat or Reader are you using to open these files?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but your answers will help us get to the bottom of this issue.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Best,
    Sara

    Hi experts,
I have been asked the following question: Do repeated editing and saving degrade the quality of a pdf file (containing text and image)? I hope some experienced folks can help me answer the above question.

No it doesn't, at least it's not supposed to.

  • HT1040 I have an iphoto book saved as a PDF file, how do I order the book from the PDF file?

AGGHHHH! I have just finished hours of work, making an album on iphoto. I finally finished placing about the 300th photo, all cropped, edited, etc etc. I wanted to check that all the photos were in, so I hit the "clear placed photos" button, thinking it would just leave me with any I'd missed, & instead it wiped my whole album!! Is there any way I can restore it? If not I did save it as a pdf file. How to I purchase the book using the pdf file?

The way is to restore it is to restore your backup from before this happened - that is why you must have backups
As to purchasing form a PDF - not from Apple - check for web wervices who claim to be able to  - google brings up sites like PrestoPrint - not recommended - not tested - simply found

  • Saving an emailed PDF File

All of a sudden I can no longer save PDF files to my hard drive.  When one is emailed to me, I click on it and go to "Save" and the disc keeps spinning.  If I click on "Export as a pdf" it asks for the owner password. I put my password in and it does not accept it.  Any Answers? Thanks!

Have you tried to just drag it out of the email to your desktop?

  • Problem saving and printing pdf files.

Operating System Windows 7.  Adobe Reader Version XI. Online and local files. Browser XI. Adobe sends ERROR message on ALL pdf files.  Adobe seems to recognize all pdf files as "coded incorrectly," and sent by email, when the majority haven't been sent by email.  It will not save the pdf as a pdf, but saves it as "All Files," instead.

How are you downloading these files?  Also, what exactly means "an error message"?

  • Saving converted Export PDF files

I use the Export PDF function, convert to Word Doc, and a dialogue appears asking me to download the conversion as it is successful.  When I try to save the document to my Desktop, it won't.  There is a drop-down box next to the Save button that says 'Save to Online Account' - I have no idea what this means - where is my converted file and how do I access it?

    Hi DJ,
    I'd like to assist!
Are you using a MAC or PC?
You can always access your files by going to files.acrobat.com and logging in using your Adobe ID and password. You should be able to download them from there.
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
    Kind regards, Stacy

  • Saving a modified PDF file making desktop window full size

I am running Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 and suddenly have a problem running Windows 7. When I invoke the SAVEAS command, a window opens up on my desktop to navigate what to call and where to store the file. The problem is now the window is full screen with no way to reduced the size of the window. The usual windows options for sizing in the upper right hand corner are gone.
Any direction on how to fix this would be greaty appreciated.

Are you able to right-click on the very top of the dialog and select "size"?

  • Can a JPEG be 'saved as' a PDF (or other file type)?

Can a JPEG file be saved as a PDF file?
Also, can it be saved in a file format that will allow the image to be inserted into, e.g., a WORD document? (Or can a JPEG itself simply be inserted into a WORD doc 'as is'?)
    Thanks.

You can reformat a .jpg to PDF.
No, it doesn't reformat it. The .jpg is simply embedded into the PDF file. As BDAqua noted, if it's a high resolution image, OS X's built in PDF creation module will knock it down to screen resolution.
For some reason, I was sent a chart (with numbers) as a jpeg file. Converting it to, and then printing it as, a PDF leaves the data in too small a font size.
What size is the .jpg before you place it into a PDF? Open it in Preview and press Command+I. What is the image size in pixels and image DPI (resolution)?
Is there any way to enlarge the text (via iPhoto, Preview, or some other Mac utility)?
72 dpi is low, screen resolution. 300 dpi is standard high, print resolution. So if the original is already a low res file, then there's little to nothing you can do to improve the text on a printed piece.

  • Saving a .pdf file Firefox reboots my Ubuntu 10.10 Computer, also happened with Firefox 3.4.What to do?

Saving a open pdf file as a webpage restarts by Ubuntu 10.10. When i click save as, it opens the save window and it restarts my computer. This also happened with firefox 3.6

My current solution is to print from Preview instead (which will let me use the Adobe print facility, unlike Acrobat itself).
In fact, I pretty much have no need for Acrobat at the moment.
Adobe and Apple between them seem to have some real problems with Snow Leopard.  I can't get Dreamweaver to run anymore without immediately crashing (yes I looked through the help forums, deleted settings, etc etc).  So I'm now looking for a replacement tool for Dreamweaver and will likely use that from now on.
Adobe is not looking very good to me at the moment.  YMMV.
