Saving .ATT files to disk instead of emailing them?

In using Captivate 5.5 for reporting quiz results, the Help PDF states under "Specify e-mail preferences":
4.  Specify whether the CSV content must be sent in the body of the e-mail, or as an attachment. The CSV content can be sent as an attachment only over Internet Explorer.
Note: The CSV content is sent as an attachment with the .att extension. Rename the file to a .csv extension and open it in Microsoft Excel.
We are using Kronos that needs the CSV output to a file system location, not sent as an email.
Can you save .ATT files to disk instead of emailing them??
Thank you.

Hello jckrueger,
It is unclear as to the type of disk you would like to save incoming faxes to, however you can send incoming faxes (or scanned documents) directly to email or a network folder with your imageCLASS D1370.
Here are the steps for your reference to forward faxes to email or a file server:
NOTE:  When a fax document is transferred to an email or a file server, the document is converted to a PDF file.
Setting Document Transfer (Automatic Forwarding):
This allows you to specify whether a document is automatically transferred during receiving and where to be transferred.
NOTE:
Destinations that can be specified:
You can specify the followings as destinations.
- Fax
- E-mail (D1370 only)
- File server (D1370 only)
- Group destination
1. Press (Menu).
2. Select <System Settings> using [^] or [v] and press [OK].
3. Select <Forwarding Settings> using [^] or [v] and press [OK].
4. Select <Off> or <On> using [^] or [v] and press [OK].
<On> Starts to transfer received documents. Next, you need to configure transfer destinations.
<Off> Transfer is not performed.
When <On> is selected:
You can specify where to forward. You can specify only by the following approaches:
"Specifying destinations using one-touch keys"
"Specifying destinations using coded dial codes"
"Specifying destinations using the address book"
5. Press (Menu) to close the menu screen.

    Hi,

    In what format is the image coming to you from the database? If it's an InputStream subclass, just use javax.imageio.ImageIO:

    Ive just been looking for the same. Theres an article (and a class) on javaworld on subject of saving bitmap-files, and in another thread in this forum, a guy described how to make jpg. with the jdk1.4 .... Like this:
    int w = comp.getWidth();
    int h = comp.getHeight();
    BufferedImage im = new BufferedImage(w, h, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g2 = im.createGraphics();
    comp.paint(g2);
    g2.dispose();
    ImageIO.write(im, "jpeg", new File("foo.jpeg"));
    im.flush();
    Im just referring, havent tried it yet. Good luck.

  • Saving ATT file, CaptivateMyData - HELP!

    I am new to Captivate, and I am planning on using it without

  • Saving photo file onto disk high resolution

    I am trying to put  my 10MB photo onto a CD so I can take the file to a printer.  When I drag the file onto the disk, the disk shows 330KB file. I can't print the file at 330KB. Why is the CD distorting my file and decreasing the resolution? How do I copy a photo file (jpeg or tiff) onto a CD?

    Are you dragging from a Finder folder or from something else?

  • Ctrl+E to open in CS2 without saving a file on disk?

    Is there a way to Ctrl+E to open DNG as a PSD on CS2 WITHOUT having it automatically save a psd file on my hard drive?

    Damian, no "flame" taken lol
    I totally agree ... yes, having CS2 files in LR is great ... but not on every file I go to CS2 I need to save ... there are (sad to say) 100's of files I might do something "quickly" to in CS2 and save as a JPG ... that I totally do not want to save the PSD file. and I don't want to have to go back and have to look for and delete them.
    So, chances are those ... "snap shots" ... I can quickly duplicate what I did with the DNG anytime ... which is probably mostly there.
    Example ... a picture of a Women/Girl ... the image in LR is good to go .. but, because "they" want all flaws gone ... I have to run the "snap shot" thru my Plug-in.
    * also doing multiple copys for a HDR stack ... I want LR to send it to CS2 ... but I only want 1 copy of the PSD file to be in LR. (because I will have to delete the others)
    imho,
    * It's all about "choice" , and I could do this in ACR / CS2. ... yes, there are many DNG's I will want to have a PSD file generated and listed in LR automatically. But, I want to be able to choose which one's ... because this will save me time.
    p.s. I also do NOT like the way "Folders" are handled in LR.
    I don't want to see everything in the sub-folders on the TOP folder. It's confusing file management imho.
    If, I create a PSD file for a shoot ... I want it in a sub-folder PSD where all my PSD's will be. (not mixed in with my DNG's)
    imho, something powerful that gives choice ... on Ctrl+E on the pop up window you can CHOOSE to save ... and if you want it, in a Sub-folder ... which you can name. Like PSD (and if it already exists ... LR will put it there) ... now that's organized and powerful to me.

  • Saving a file to disk

    I am sorry if this is not the right place for this question but I could not find a place for it. I have excel on my MAC and am trying to safe a file to a blank disc. I am used to a simple file save as but that doesn't work here. Can someone just tell me how to save the file? Thanks!!

    1) Go to System Preferences > CDs & DVDs
    2) Select "Ask what to do" for the action when you insert a blank CD
    3) Close System Preferences
    4) Insert blank CD into your Mac and select open in Finder (this will mount the CD on your desktop)
    5) Drag your Excel chart onto the mounted CD
    6) Drag the CD to the trash can. The trash can will turn change symbols indicating that it will burn the CD before ejecting.
    7) Burn CD and you are done.

  • Saving PS files on PC and the using them on Mac

    I have at home pc, but in college I am using Mac,s. I have one concern if im going to work on some kind of project at home on my pc and then I will wanna carry on on it at the college were I'm gonna use Mac, will I be able to load that project? If not what should I do? Because today when I Mac didn't load me a InDesign file which I saved on my PC. I don't want this happen to PS files.
    Thanks for help

    Page layout programs like InDesign, QuarkXpress, Pagemaker have always has limitations dealing with different versions;
    This has not changed in over 20 years.
    While you can always easily open older version files in newer version .i.e InDesign CS5 will open in CS6.
    Going backwards is an issue as you have already found out. You can't "directly" open an InDesign CS6 document in CS5.
    You can export your ID CS6 doc to InDesign Markup IDMl.
    This IDML can be opened in CS5.
    However, text may reflow, and any new features that were introduced in CS6 may either be missing or uneditable.
    It is not a good workflow to constantly move a document between versions.
    You have been warned!

  • Xfdesktop copies files into Thunar instead of moving them with mouse

    Running Xfce4 with Thunar as the default file manager.
    If I drag a file with the mouse out of a folder in Thunar, onto my desktop, it moves from the folder to the desktop (normal behaviour).
    But if I drag a file from the desktop into a folder (either into the Thunar window or straight on-top of the folder icon), it COPIES instead of moves.
    That is slightly strange behaviour. Is there something wrong somewhere?

    Found a quick workaround but it doesn't 'fix' the original question.
    You can drag with a right-click and when you let go, a menu will pop up asking what you want to do (copy, move, link).

  • Writing files to disk.....

    Hi, any ideas why this code to read in an array of bytes (a file) from a server and then write the file to a user chosen directory does not work??
    Should I be using a fileObject and not just a fileoutputstream?? I am using an example from a book that just reads in the array of bytes, creates a fileoutputstream and uses its write method to save the file....
    Any ideas??
    Thanks!
    byte[] theDocument = (byte[])objectIn.readObject();
    if (theDocument.length > 0)
         //Let user choose where to put this file
         JFileChooser fileChooser = new JFileChooser();
         fileChooser.setFileSelectionMode(JFileChooser.DIRECTORIES_ONLY);
         fileChooser.setApproveButtonText("Save");
         fileChooser.setApproveButtonToolTipText("Click to save the document in this directory");
         selection = fileChooser.showOpenDialog(null);
         if (selection == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION)
               //Get the address to the folder they chose
               String thePath = fileChooser.getSelectedFile().toString();
               thePath = thePath + fileName;     //FILENAME CREATED & INITIALISED ELSEWHERE AND IS ALWAYS SOMETHING LIKE MYFILE.TXT  FILE NAME MAY HAVE SPACES SOMETIMES, PROBLEM???
               //now write the file out to the folder chosen by the user
               try
                          FileOutputStream fileOut = new FileOutputStream(thePath);
          fileOut.write(theDocument);//Write the array of bytes to disk to save the file!               fileOut.close();                                        System.out.println("We saved the file to disk!"); //THIS IS DISPLAYED WHEN CODE IS RUN!!
               catch (FileNotFoundException FNF)
                          clientLogin.showUserMessage("Could not save the document.  Check that you have permission to write to the chosen destination directory.");
    else
               clientLogin.showUserMessage("No document was sent back from the server.");
    }

    Yes, I am using a serialised byte array to send the file accross the network from server to client. It just seemed a neat way to do it.....
    All communication between my server and client is done using objectoutput and objetcinputstreams because i had problems using printwriters, buffered readers and objectstreams on the same socket....
    my server has to receive, populate and send back custom user objects so it made sense (to me anyway) to send all communication like that.....
    Is there a better way?
    Thanks for speedy replies.

  • Saving a file in JSF with a servlet

    Okay, here is essentially what I'm doing right now:
    1. The user selects some data that they want to export (save) to a file and enters a filename into a text box.
    2. The user then clicks an 'Export' button and a controller action is invoked that puts the filename and the data (as a String) into the http session.
    3. On success, the controller returns a successForServlet string which a navigation rule defined in faces-config looks at and sends the page to an ExportToFile.jsp page.
    4. All this jsp page does is to forward the request to my servlet.
    5. The servlet picks up the filename and data from the http session and sets up the appropriate response. This causes a 'Save' dialog to be prompted to the user so that they can choose a location and such.
    6. The user clicks save and the file is saved to disk.
    This all works wonderfully. BUT, here is the problem...I am now out of JSF's scope since the nav rule sent the request (ultimately) to a servlet. The page that the user was on is now stale and they have to click a menu item or something to get back into JSF scope. So, what now? I've tried a few things that I won't mention here until I see what kind of suggestions I get from you guys. Thanks to anyone that can help me out. Lance.

    I may not be understanding you correctly (this is very new to me), but I tried your suggestion to no avail. As I understood it, you were suggesting that I put this into my servlet. I did so in a finally block in my doPost() method. Here's the code:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    String methodName = "doPost";
    log_.entry(methodName);
    try {
    // Get a session-scoped value
    HttpSession session = request.getSession();
    String exportFileName = (String) session.getAttribute( "ExportEntityFileName" );
    String exportString = (String) session.getAttribute( "ExportEntityText" );
    response.setHeader("Pragma", "No-cache");
    response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0);
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + exportFileName + ".txt");
    response.setHeader("Context-Type", "text/html");
    response.getOutputStream().write(exportString.getBytes());
    } catch (Exception e) {
    log_.error(e.toString());
    } finally {
    HttpSession session = request.getSession();
    session.setAttribute("ExportEntityFileName", null);
    session.setAttribute("ExportEntityText", null);
    response.getOutputStream().close();
    session.getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/appPanels/utilities/BcfExport.jsp");
    log_.exit(methodName);
    Something about this line:
    session.getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/appPanels/utilities/BcfExport.jsp");
    ...didn't look right, so I tried this also:
    session.getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/appPanels/utilities/BcfExport.jsp").forward(request, response);
    ...but that was no help either. Any more suggestions out there? I can't believe that this isn't being done by others. I mean, saving a file to disk!?!?!?!? It sounds rather elementary.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Why don't Grapher's Frame Limits work correctly with saved Grapher files using multiple equations on Mountain Lion?

    Hi,
    I generally enjoy using Grapher in OS X (I am using Mountain Lion v10.8.2). However, I have repeatedly encountered what seems to be broken basic functionality in setting the limits on the display frame  (View> Frame Limits…). When opening saved Grapher files with multiple valid equations in them (equations which include constant terms defined as sets of numbers), I repeatedly get the following behavior:
    1. Frame limits are not correctly saved. As in, the file opens with a different view than it was saved and closed in.
    2. Frame limits no longer work as expected. For example, I might set the Y axis frame limits to be -2 to 2, but the Y axis of the frame display will run from about -1.95 to about -0.35.
    3 Performance is degraded. Making a change to the frame limits (for ecxample, changing the Y frame limits to -2.2 and 5 in an attempt to display something approximating the range -2 to 2) take an inordinate amount of both processor time and clock time. The spinning ball appears and hangs out far longer than is welcome, and at times seems to hang requiring a force quit of Grapher.
    These problems occur regardless of coordinate system.
    Is there a solution? If I create a new file and start from scratch the problems reappear. The problems reappear across a wide range of 2D equation types.
    Is Grapher simply broken in this regard?
    Thanks for the input.

    Bonjour Lexy-Lou,
       You are right, the bug was born with Grapher as you may read on the website
    <http://y.barois.free.fr/grapher/> :
    Grapher’s bugs and their remedies (OS X in French).
              Bug nr. 1. (Grapher 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3). When modifying the main 2D window size, the graph length and height already formatted (menu Format) are changed : axis scale values stay the same, added objects remain same size on the same places (unit pixel) relative to the graph left upper corner ; but the graph view changes for the ratio H/L do so : very annoying !
                        The remedy : To restore the 2D graph after changing the window size : menu Format > Layout > Size > redo the initial choice (paper size or L and H values)… or avoid having to do so by selecting a window large enough to begin with.
                        Proposed correction : making the graph size independent of the main window’s one.
              Bug nr. 2. (Grapher 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3). Saving is wrong in 2D (menu File > Save, Save as, Save a copy as). Are not seved : the last location on the screen of the main window, the graph size, the maximum and minimum values of the ordinate scale : very very annoying !
                        Note : The new windows of Grapher 1.1 (Grapher secondary window > New Graph > 2D or 3D Graph) always open in the same place on the screen( OS X 10.4.11 configured in French) depending on the language used by Grapher : if it’s English, well placed and covering most of the screen, if it is French, the windows are half length but same height and are located on the right side of the screen. This anomaly disappeared with Grapher 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 (English or French).
                        The remedy : to restore the 2D graph after opening a GCX files (.gcx) : menu Format > Layout > Size > redo the initial choice (Paper size or L and H values) to be done twice ; then menu View > Frame limits... > enter minimum and maximum vaues of the y scale. This requires to note four numerical values, L, H, y-min, y-max, for example at the top of the equation list (or at the bottom : see bug nr. 27).
                        Proposed correction : complete saving in 2D.
    For the full list of Grapher's bugs please download "Instructions for Use - Grapher" (English) or "Mode d'emploi de Grapher" (French). Quick glance at the Contents (pages 2 & 3) you'll be surprised by the possibilities of Grapher.app despite the bugs.
      Enjoy,
    Au revoir,
