Saving backwards from AE CC 2014 to CS6

Any suggestion on how to save backwards from AE CC 2014 to CS6? I just downloaded AE CC and when I try to open it, it says that this version is not compatible with my OSX (10.9.4). Is there any alternative way to save/share a file so someone with CS6 can use my CC 2014 AE file?

  • Saving backward from AS 3 to AS 2

I recently created a slide show that works fine on my desktop, works great from the test server when viewed through the flash produced HTML but once the swf is uploaded via a content management system we have problems. Further investigation showed that the CMS is set up for a few versions back so I saved backward which dropped my actionScript back to 1.0 and 2.0. I totally re-wrote the actions script and again, everything works great on my box but the same issues are showing up. Is versioning backward in this manner the problem. Must I start from scratch or should I be looking for another solution.

My advice would be to use only AS 2 for the future. AS 3 isn't fully compatible with previous versions and in addition will not play on most of the user's hardware (not all users update flash player so regularly). Also remember to tick the AS tab on export options to AS 2 when saving backward.

  • Saving Backwards from Indesign CS2 to CS?

Initially, I recieved an Indesign file from CS4 that I couldn't open with my Indesign CS. With much frustration, researching and contacting SEVERAL people with different versions, I am left with the same file (now in .inx) that someone can open in CS2, but still not CS!  Does anyone have Indesign CS2 that can help me and downgrade this file, so I can finally view it!!! Thank you and I greatly appreciate feedback!!!
    Amy

Normally, I'd be the first to volunteer, but I don't actually have CS2 installed on the machine at the moment. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly, though.
In the meantime, you need to understand that what you see is likely to only be a vague imitation of what was created in CS4. Many of the features of CS4 will not be supported, so things like line styles or GREP styles will be lost completely, and you can count on some text wrapping differently from line to line becasue the text engines have also been upgraded significantly. If you can live with that, great, but sending it back to be opened again in CS4 is going to do the same re-wrap stuff if the file is edited. This is not a great way to collaborate.
Also, now is the time to seriously consider upgrading. You are still eligible for upgrade pricing to CS4, but you won't be for CS5, and it will cost a lot more money to upgrade then.

  • Saving tiff from Raw file is very slow (10 min) CS6?

MY OS is 10.7 and using CS 6, Raw 8.3.0 . I am having difficulty saving files from my RAW file, it is now taking up to 10 min just to do a simple save in photoshop. I have 32 GB of Ram and 2700GB on an internal scratch disk. The process of saving will stop at about 50% then stall and at about 8-10 min the file will save as a tiff. What is going on, this just started in the past week?

Whenever I begin to experience a slow-down in my system (Mac OS) I launch "Activity Monitor" which shows me where all my CPU and RAM resources are being allocated and how much. This is where I will usually find the resource hog. There is probably an equivalent system utility for Windows OS.
The next thing I would check (often alluded to by the resource allocation check above) is what programs are being automatically loaded at launch -- your Start-Up list. For a Mac this can be found in the User info. I believe Windows also has this list, maybe somewhere in the Control Panel.
Next, I will do as R_Kelly suggests and replace my preferences files for both Photoshop and Bridge. I have a good copy of each file saved where I can reload it when necessary.
Last I will do a diagnostic hardware test, available on Mac OS by accessing the recovery disk. Not sure about Windows, probably in System Accessories folder or in the Control Panel. Once I discovered I had a bad stick of RAM memory that was slowing things down and even causing Photoshop to crash. Also check to see if your Scratch Disk is clean and defragmented. I re-formated my Scratch Disk once and that cleared up a problem I was having with Photoshop.

  • Unable to copy+paste from Illustrator CC 2014 to Fireworks CS6

It seems to me like Illustrator CC 2014 is riddled with bugs and compatibility issues. The latest one I have found is that I am unable to copy+paste directly from Illustrator CC 2014 to Fireworks CS6. However it does work when I copy+paste from Illustrator CC 2014 > Illustrator CC (previous version) > Fireworks CS6. Anyone else have this problem?

  • How to transfer an unfinished project from premiere pro 2014 to premiere pro cs6

Ok I a not too savvy with my new MAC or computers in general but i used to work with Power Director excellent product on my PC. So how do you transfer an unfinished project from Premiere Pro 2014 to Premiere Pro Cs6

Um ... by basically re-doing the project ... as there's SO much added to CC since the CS6 version, the tools have changed, the available effects have changed, the underlying code has changed ... there's just so much that CC can do that can't be done in the old CS6 version.
You can try exporting an XML and importing that into CS6 ... sometimes that works better than others, it hath been stated. This is sort of like trying to put a modern engine with all the computer controlled gizmos & pollution controls & fuel injection and designed to work with a 5-speed auto transmission into a 1965 Chevelle. With the older 3-speed manual tranny. How do you do it? Rebuild everything ... both the engine & the car. Lot of work.

  • Can you down save from CC (2014) to CS6?

Can you down save from CC (2014) to CS6?

CS6 and CC both work on Mavericks. You should be able to download both if you don't have them installed. If you have them installed and they're not launching, perhaps there's an issue we can fix.
But the only way to go to CS6 from CC 2014 is to save down to CC and then open in CC and save down to CS6.

  • Converting Ae CC(2014) to CS6

Is there any way to convert an existing CC(2014) file to a CS6 file that doesn't use the AAF plug-in? Would using XML be feasible enough?
I'm creating small animations for a class, and the professor will only accept CS6; with CC(2014) being directly incompatible, it causes a bit of a problem...
I have read through different forums and unfortunately have come up empty handed.

I have seen that thread as well, but unfortunately I don't have any previous versions for Open Sesame to work with, or to continue to save backward from... CC is the first form of most of the Adobe products that I own. Thank you very much for your quick reply though

  • Why does saving down from Illustrator 6 to older version sometimes not work?

We have some users with CS6 and some with CS3 and 4, when a user tries to open an illustrator file from CS3 and 4 saved down from CS6 it will not open.  some files will open but most won't.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

What is the best approach to transfer collections.  Thanks.  KC
On a Mac both the keyword file and collections are stored in the user library (by default hidden in OSX lion) in the user account.
    The path on Mac:
user / library / Application Support / Adobe. Inhere you should see both Bridge CS5 and bridge CS6 if you have upgraded while the older system is still on your system.
In Bridge CS5 you see several folders and files. The keyword file that has all your in CS5 created keywords is called 'Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml' and the folder called Collections should have all your saved collections in it.
You can copy the keyword file to the same location in CS6 and also the content of the collections folder can be copied to the CS6 folder.
After restarting Bridge CS6 they should reflect the correct collections and keywords.
Don't know the path on Windows but it might be similar.

  • Lines are appearing after saving a psd in cc 2014

    Hello,
I've been having some issues when saving psd's in CC 2014. After saving an image lines tend to appear, and in one case actually added to a mask I was creating. I have image examples below of what has been happening. One last note is that it seems that this issue happens sporadically. If it was on every psd I saved I would have a bit more of a solid thought as to what was wrong, but it just kinda does it whenever it feels like it. I have since restarted my computer, but the issue still is there.
This image shows when not only did the lines appear, but also they added to my mask I was creating.
This image is to show that the lines appear randomly sometimes now when viewing images and actually get saved into the document.
Until I can figure out what is happening I'm switching back to CC for awhile. Any help would be great.

Ok, I had a bit of time to further test this today -- and it looks like the "Cache Tile Size" settings is the culprit for me. The default 128k setup is creating the lines artefact while working on larger files (something around 1500x1500 pix files and up). Setting a tile size of 132k or higher, I was able to re-open files and the artefacts are gone. Putting back the 128k, opening an offending file and I have the bug. I'm able to reproduce it.
So the Cache Tile Size fixes it. One note : if I happen to export a file (ex: jpeg), the lines artefacts are "baked" into the artwork. However saving a PSD file with the artefact, and open it after changing the tile size makes the artefacts go away.
What's weird is that I get this bug now only if the "Use Graphics Processor" is unchecked. But the first time around, it was checked as it looks like it's the default upon Photoshop installed. Now I can switch it back, put the 128K tile size, and I'm ok. Again, it's not an extensive test since I did 20 minutes of fiddling with various files. I'll update later on if the bug's back since I'll use CC 2014 from now on.
Also note that the first time around, I was able to get the artefacts on much smaller files, but these we're smart objects pasted from Illustrator. This looks fixed now. It might be the way PS handles caching for vector objects.
So play with these settings, don't forget to close PS on each Performance settings change. Let us know if it fixes it.

how do I transfer saved emails from old ipad to new ipad?

    Hi trevorius,
Happy New Year!  The answer to your question depends on what email account you are using.   If it is your iCloud email account, the email messages will be available when you enable iCloud on your new iPad.  If it is an iMap account like Gmail, the messages will be redownloaded from their server.
Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2109
Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device
You can use iCloud or iTunes to transfer content from your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to another device.
    Use iCloud Backup
Follow these steps if both your devices use iOS 5 or later and you have an iCloud account. If not, please follow the iTunes steps below.
You can use iCloud Backup to back up your previous device and then restore the backup to a new device. Your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings will be transferred to your new device.
    See more about iCloud Backup.
    Turn on iCloud Backup
Start by backing up your old device to iCloud:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Turn on iCloud Backup.
You may want to connect to power and turn Wi-Fi on.
    Back up now
iCloud backs up your device once a day. To back up your device before you transfer content:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Tap Back Up Now.
Wait until the backup finishes. How long it will take depends on how big the backup is and how fast your Internet connection is.
    Set up your new device
When the backup of your old device is finished, turn on your new device. Follow the setup assistant, which will ask you to choose these things:
    Your language and country
    Whether to enable Location Services
    A Wi-Fi network
If you've already set up your device, you can reset it so that you can go through the iOS Setup Assistant again and restore from your backup. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do this only if you already have a backup.
    Restore from iCloud Backup
When you're asked to set up:
    Choose Restore from iCloud Backup.
    Tap next.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Choose the backup
Choose the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device finishes restoring from the backup.
How long it will take depends on how big the backup is and how fast your Internet connection is.
    Sync other content from iTunes
When the restore finishes, your device will restart. You should connect the device to iTunes to sync data that isn't in the backup (such as music, videos, or apps that you didn't purchase from the iTunes Store or the App Store ). To change the type of content that syncs, click the syncing tabs in iTunes.
    Enter your passwords
When you're restoring an iCloud backup to a new device, you'll need to enter your password for your Apple ID, email and other accounts, and voicemail. If you've forgotten your voicemail password, contact your carrier.

    Use iTunes
If you don't have an iCloud account or you just want to keep a backup on your computer, you can use iTunes to back up and transfer content on your device.
    Get ready
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer and the latest version of iOS on your original device.
You can't install a backup of a newer version of iOS onto devices that are using earlier versions of iOS. If your backup came from a device that has a newer version of iOS installed, update your new device before you transfer your data. For help, see Unable to restore from a backup of a newer iOS device.
    Back up and transfer
First, back up your old device using iTunes. You can also encrypt the backup so that it remembers the passwords for your email, Wi-Fi, and more when you transfer to the new device. Otherwise, you can re-enter these passwords on the new device.
Then transfer your data from your device to your computer.
    Remove your SIM card
If your device has a SIM card, use the SIM-extractor tool or a paper clip to remove the SIM from your old device and insert it into your new device. Or if your carrier gave you a new SIM card, use that instead.
    Set up the new device
When the backup of your old device is finished, turn on your new device. Follow the setup assistant, which will ask you to choose these things:
    Your language and country
    Whether to enable Location Services
    A Wi-Fi network
If you don’t have a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection, you can also activate by tapping Connect to iTunes.
    Restore the backup
When prompted to set up your device, select Restore from iTunes Backup.
    Connect to iTunes
Connect your new device to iTunes, using the same computer you used to back up your current device. iTunes will ask you to restore from backup or set up as new. Select the backup of your old device and choose Continue.
If the progress bar in iTunes pauses for a while, wait until the restore finishes.
    Sync other content
When the restore finishes, your device restarts, and then it's ready for you to use.
Keep your device connected to iTunes to sync content that isn't in the backup (such as music, videos, and apps). To change the type of content that syncs, click the syncing tabs in iTunes.
    Enter your passwords
If you restored from an unencrypted backup, you'll need to enter the password for your Apple ID, email and other accounts, and voicemail. If you've forgotten your voicemail password, contact your carrier.
