Saving BI Report templates created from portal view

Experts,
In our company, we have a Corportate Portal (its SAP Netweaver/ SAP Portal 7.0), in which a BI Portal connects to this Corporate Portal. In our portal, we have a process in place which tracks our products, and we also have BI Reports within this portal in which you can access and execute to view reports (which then can be printed out)..
*Question:*
Obviously BI Reports allow a user to format the reports to there needs (through the web portal)...If a user finds a very good format and wants to save it (to give to other users or to reload a different for themselves without have to redo it) through the portal, can they do that? IN other words, is it possible to save templates through the web portal for other users of that web portal to have?
Note: we do not use Bex query designer

James,
If I understood your question then all the user has to do when they put together a report variant that they would like to share is when saving the variant add a technical name as well and that makes that variant visible to all users of that report on the portal.  Hope this helps.

Rudy B.

  • Payment of Expense Report invoice created from credit card transactions

We are implementing corporate credit cards into iExpenses using the company pay method. When expense reports are created from aquitting credit card transactions and exported into Payables does anyone know if it is possible to pay the expense report invoice that has been created without needing to run the Create Credit Card Issuer Invoice program? The reason for this question is that I want to avoid running this program as our credit card provider direct debits our account from our bank account rather than us transmitting the funds to them and don't need to create an invoice for the credit card provider. Any assistance would be gretly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi  Harry
You can use the badi TRIP_POST_FI   .you can create custom table & mention the different symbolic account number  & change your  symbolic account based on your expense type by using the above badi. While you do FI posting  your expense types will get posted in two hit two different G/L account
It will surely solve your problem.. I had same issue in my earlier project which i have done the above solution.

  • Printing SAP Reports (Transactional iviews) from Portal

I am having problem in printing the SAP Transactional I views (SAP Reports Output) from the Portal page. On selecting the Print Option under Menu from the SAP transactional iview page, it shows the list of the printers in the backend system. On selecting the printer configured in backend abap system and issuing a print command, it only creates a spool request in the backend system and nothing is sent to the printer itself.
I have also tried to use "PDF1" device type by creating a new output device and it does bring the contents of the report on a web embedded PDF page, hoever the characters are too small and to read and the ALV Report is no longer aligned. The line separating the rows and columns are not aligned.
Can anyone help in suggesting the best way to print contents of SAP Reports (created as Transactional i views) from the SAP Portal.
    Thanks!

    Hi Margie,
It is not necessary for a developer to have access to that area, and certainly not in a production system.
Ideally, there should be developer, test, QA and production systems, and the developer can have access to the developer system. The UI you are talking about gives access to all WD applications deployed to the AS Java, and the ability to run them as well as change some settings. But this is the domain of the administrator.
    Hope this helps.

  • DW Template created from existing page looks fine in IE7,FF,Opera,Netscape but Not IE6

I am working on a website that I want to make certain pages
into templates for re-use.. I have an existing page designed
outside of DW that looked great in IE6,IE7,FF,Opera, and Netscape
but the moment I saved it as a Template and then created a new page
and look at the new page in IE6 the css is off... Not so off that
the CSS is not being used but just not right, but If I look at it
in anyother browser it's fine... Is DW "fixing" my code for me?
I've looked through the settings and all the Code Rewriting options
are unselected or is this a bug and can I get around it...

Good luck. Looks like a bad site definition to me....

  • Project's report change dynamicaly from portal

    Hi all,
We Have BW project's report & we want to change the
WBS Hierarchy dynamically from the portal.
    The problem is this,
When we add this parameters to url:
    &FILTER_IOBJNM_1=0WBS_ELEMT&FILTER_NODE_IOBJNM_1=0WBS_ELEMT&FILTER_VALUE_1=P2.2005.999
We can see only the current WBS with out the hierarchy connect to this WBS .
Can some one help us with this?
    Regards Nir

    Hi Hemant,
does this error also occur if you try it with cProject started as stand-alone application (i.e. without the portal)?
You can try this, if you start SE80 on the cProjects backend, choose Web-Dynpro component 'DPR_MAINFRAME', expand the last node in the tree: 'Web Dynpro Applications'. Right-click 'cproject'  and from the pop-up menu select 'Test'.
If things run smoothly, some settings of the portal are off.
Hoping this helps narrowing down the issue.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • Issues in BO report when creating from the BW query -

    Hi Gurus ,
I am trying to create a report in BO which is coming from the BW query. I just want to duplicate the report currently in BW.
I have a Product line in the row and 23 key figures (Caluculate KF) in the columns and 10 more chars in the free charcterstics in BW query.
Created a universe based on this query and created a report in BO . Intially I used product line and all the 23 KF in the report.
The report data matched to Source report(BW). Fine.
The issue is when I am adding the chars from the free chars (as in BW) to the BO report the CKF are messing up, especillay some of the CKF are % and If I drag any other chars , the data is not coming correctly.
Please let me know if this is not clear enough to understand the problem.
    Please advise

    Hi Ingo,
Thanks for your help. When I changed the property to Database Deligant in universe and in the report when I  refresh,
I am getting #ToREFRESH in the columns.
This is the CKF from the BW query which calculates the %A value.
Here is the caluculation in BW for that field. *MTD %A Prior Year.*
By default when I run the report in BO the numbers are matching.
When I add region and other chars to the report, the CKF values are not matching.
Please advise how to approach this issue.
    Thanks,
    Aruna..

  • PDF Reports from Portal

My goal: PDF report for print-out, launched from Portal, that displays text and image (.jpeg, .gif, .bmp, etc.) data pulled from the database. Currently, users retrieve this data right from the portal via JSP portlets. This works great. We'd like to get a good-looking report containing this data for inclusion in electronic documents and hard copy files and PDF seems a good way to go. Right now, my idea is to create the report from SQL query in Report Builder creading a .rdf file and somehow launch this from the Portal allowing users to pass selection parameters.
    Questions:
    1. What's best way to launch a .rdf report (PDF output) from Portal?
    2. What are the tricks of pulling in and displaying blob data (from Portal30 schema) in a .rdf report with PDF output?
    Thanks!

Take a look at the Portal - Reports integration documentation. It will tell you how to deploy Oracle Reports on the Portal.
As far as displaying images, Report Builder Online Help -> search on word image ->selecting image from the database.

  • Create Report Layout File from page

I am trying to mimic the Report layout create from my APEX page. The process is referencing

    Hi Guys,
If you're going to provide the DIAdem axis scaling information from LabVIEW, your going to have to send the axis scaling information to DIAdem and then run a DIAdem VBScript to apply that scaling information.  My recommendation is to continue using the DIAdem Report.vi that ships with LabVIEW, but use it to run a VBScript instead of load a REPORT layout file (*.TDR).  This means you will need to create a TDMS file that contains the parameters you want to pass to DIAdem, then have the VBScript that LabVIEW tells DIAdem to run always load that TDMS file to receive those parameters, then run VBScript commands that use those parameters.

I need to customized this report template.
    Thank you.

I want to do this also. I like the mouseover highlite feature, but would like to change the color from gray to yellow. I haven't had good luck with creating

  • Report not displaying data in Viewer

    Hi All,
I have a problem, wherein when I run a report on Discoverer Desktop or Plus the report runs fine (with data displayed) but when the same report is run from Discoverer Viewer the report does not fetch any data. It does not even give the error of 'No rows returned'.
If there are any settings or any other change that needs to be done, please help.
This is again something very urgent i am looking for. An immediete help will be really appreciated.
    Regards,
    Shruti

    Hi,
what is the version of Discoverer you are using?
Also, Is this workbook created in previous versions and upgraded to the existing version?
log entries in application.log would help in debugging. If you are facing any difficulty to look at the log entires being huge,
Make sure that you clear or take a backup of the existing application.log, restart the middletier. This will create a fresh application.log file.
Now, immediately reproduce your issue. This will record the exact log for the event which Viewer is failing to render the report.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Prasad Bolla.

    Hi,
You can call the iView directly by using NavigationTarget..
    http://myServer:50000/irj/portal?
    NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/myFolder/myRole/myIview
Plz note that the iView you are calling should be part of a Role.
And the PCD location of the iView in the Role must be given for Navigation Target.

  • CMP Entity Bean from dataBase views

    Hi forum,
I Have to migrate an existing application to JEE (with EJB3).
In this application there are a lot of dataBase views.
I'm new in EJB3 and I don't know how to structure cleanly entity beans (Specially when it are created from dataBase views).
My problem is that for each query made from the same dataBase view I almost have to create a new entity bean with a different @Id.
What can I do to to avoid it?
I had thought to genrate a new @Id (attribute not persistent) but I think is not possible. It's right ?
    Someone can help me ?
    Thanks

"CMP provides you with database independence and less coding efforts."
BMP is not database dependent, unless you invoke database specific things in your SQL (something I do not do). CMP on the otherhand is inherently appserver specific (which was it's goal when BEA, IBM, et al. came up with it), and still limits your design possibilities. See this thread for an example:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=13&thread=318785
As for less coding effort, that is a relative statment. Yes a simple CMP bean requires less coding to develop the first time. I personally view a few lines of SQL to load and store the data as being fairly trivial. But that needs to be offset with the problems inherent in using appserver specific CMP implementations.
As an example, try mapping WebSphere CMP to a pre-existing database without using IBM's IDE. It's an incredible pain in the ass since WebSphere does not come with a "meet-in-the-middle" solution. Any J2EE developer that has had the experience of working with different appservers (especially if they have had to port an app, as I have) can attest to the complications that arise with each implementation.
A BMP bean, written with non-DB-specific SQL, is the most portable, most flexible approach to EntityBeans. Yes, it requires the developer to be able to write some SQL, which should not take a significant amout of time. WRT queries, you have to write them, either SQL, EQL, or some appserver specific format.
As an aside, the use of code generators to simplify the creation of EJBs lends itself well to BMP. By using a (or writing your own) code generator, you can mitigate the annoying SQL bugs that creep up early in development.
