Saving changed  pictures in iPhoto does'n work

When I retouch a foto in iPhoto the changes are not automatically saved. I tried several times to zoom a picture, read in the help section that all changes are saved unless "back to original"-button is hit, but my photo is back to the original one. The help section also mentions pressing a "done" button, which I don't have and when I try to make a copy of the changes the option to paste is not possible whan back to the overview of the album.
Version iPhote '11 9.2.1
So whats wrong?? Thankful for help!
Downloaded pictures doesn't automatically open in iPhoto either, even though I have set the to do so in the settings in iPhoto. They used to so i am not sure why not now.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Changed icon now iPhoto does not respond

    Hi,
Can anyone help me, I went a bit silly changing my folder icons, but have now found that iPhoto does not work. I did change the icon for my pictures folder, and the data is still there, but now when I try to open iPhoto it just says 'loading library' and nothing happens. I am using iPhoto 4.0.3.
    Thanks
    G4 Powermac   Mac OS X (10.3.2)

HI, Stuart. Changing a folder's icon puts an invisible icon file inside the folder, so you changed your iPhoto Library folder's contents without iPhoto's participation or knowledge, and now iPhoto sees its database as damaged. This is a useful lesson in letting well enough alone, particularly where no useful purpose is actually served by your meddling. "Purely cosmetic" tweaks of the user interface can have more-than-cosmetic adverse effects on how things work (or don't).
Delete your custom icon from the folder, then hold down the Shift and Option keys while starting iPhoto. Keep holding them down until you're asked whether you want the database rebuilt. Say Yes and let iPhoto do its work. You will probably get everything back again in good shape.
If your adventures with custom icons haven't messed anything else up, you're probably lucky.

  • I would like to see the added keywords under the picture like iPhoto does it. Is that possible? I cannot find an answer

I would like to see the added keywords under the picture like iPhoto does it. Is that possible? I cannot find an answer in Aperture 3.2.1

Hello Wontolla, I meant the Aperture main menu, there is a sub menu "View", see the Screenshot:
Set all flags in the Metadata Display submenu as I did,  to show Metadata in Viewer and Browser, and then select "Customize"
Pick the Metadata fields you want to display for all views.
Make sure, that "Contents -> Keywords" is checked.

My Iphoto does not work properly after downloading Maverick. How can I fix it ?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you mean by not working properly? Explain in detail.
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • My pinned tabs are not saved. Changed the settings still does not work?

This changed before upgrading to the new version of FRFX. I cannot save my pinned tabs, nor does Firefox open to the last tabs open. Tried to change Settings...still does not work.
I have a new iMac 3.4, i7, 16g for video editing. Its running LION 10.7.2

Well that was odd, decided to check addons and started firefox in safe mode and my pinned tabs were there so restarted it to disable addons one by one but before I could do anything my pinned tabs were back in place. Lets hope it lasts.

  • Changing the font size does not work with Textarea with HTML Editor

If you change the font size in the text area of a "Textarea with HTML Editor" item it does not work. I've searched the forum and the only solution I've seen is to use an HTML editor foriegn to APEX. Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Elizabeth

I'm having a similar issue except with HTML Editor Standard.
What I'm doing is allow someone to write to an HTML Editor Standard field and then an HTML marked up text is saved to a db CLOB column. In another page, I reference this DB column and show it in an HTML Region (I do a computation Before Regions for a hidden item that writes out the html with "htp.p")
Everything shows up fine EXCEPT the font tags and headings. I'm finding that the HTML Region sets the font size only with the < d i v s t y l e="font-size: large" >and NOT < f o n t size:6 >. When the HTML Editor renders the user's text input, any size changes are made with the < f o n t > tag, which is depreciated anyways, and not with "style". That's why the size is not showing up.
I can't really figure out why the headings aren't showing up except maybe the css style in the region is overridding it...
    Is there another APEX item type like HTML Editor (which uses FCKEditor) that I can use, or maybe another approach to remedy this issue? Or maybe this post calls for an enhancement with the HTML Editor?{size}{size}

  • Saving changes on file close doesn't work

I just upgraded from iLife 4 to 6, and cannot get iMovie 6 to save changes when I close the project and press the Save button in response to the question: "Do you want to save the changes you made in the document [name of file]?" If I hit command-S manually before closing the file, it WILL save changes, but I am worried that one day I will forget to manually save changes, approve the "save changes on file close" request, and my changes will be lost! I have tossed the preferences and run repair permissions, but neither one helped. I have never seen any Mac application (or Windows, for that matter) fail to save changes when you close a file and get asked to save changes. Does yours work? What am I doing wrong?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Welcome to the forum!
The failure to save when you close a project very, very weird. That one is new to me.
iMovie HD does require that the project disk uses the Mac OS Extended disk format. If it uses another format, there can be problems saving. So I'd start there.

Be sure too to rule out third-party plug-ins and QuickTime add-ons that can cause weird problems. There probably aren't many iLife 6 user still using Mac OS 10.3.9. Although iMovie 6 is supposed to run okay, it may be that you'll see problems others don't see.
Is the routine maintenance that Mac OS X does on its own getting done?

  • IPhoto does not work under Yosemite

I just installed Yosemite and iPhoto does not seem to be working. It says that I have to update iPhoto and that I can search for the newest version in the app store, however, once I try to update and enter my Apple ID and password, nothing happens?

and that I can search for the newest version in the app store, however, once I try to update and enter my Apple ID and password, nothing happens?
Which version of iPhoto do you have?
If your version of iPhoto is not an iPhoto '11 version but iPhoto `09 or earlier, you cannot update iPhoto but need to buy the upgrade.
In that case   go straight for the "Featured" tab of the App Store, enter iPhoto into the search field and buy iPhoto 9.6.

  • IPhoto change time and date does not work with Flickr

    Hello everyone,
In my iPhoto librairies, I do change my photo date and time to set them we they were actually taken. Here, I'm refering especially to photos which are:
    * scanned photo
    * stiched photo
    The issue is:
When I share these photo on Flickr, Flickr sort them with the previous date time setting, even if I have selected to change the original file in iPhoto.
So it is painful to end up seeing that all the work done on iPhoto is not reflected elsewhere.
This issue can only be in iPhoto as the old date time should be swapped with the new one.
Let me know when the fixed will be implemented so I stop loosing precious time editing photos!
    Regards,
    Francois

I have an Access Database created with Access 2010 installed on a machine running Windows 8 using the Access 2010 Runtime code. For the most part the database works but all reports that require a date in the header come out with ##error. Works fine
with full access on any other machine. Just this one were we are using Runtime. Any ideas?
Make sure you don't have Date used as a Field Name, as it is a Reserved Word in Access and can cause unpredictable behavior.
Also make sure you have compiled the VBA code, before using the Runtime version.
Have error handling in place, to capture errors in your DB.
    Hope these pointers help,

  • IOS iPhoto - Does it work as a stand-alone App?

    Hi
I'm really digging the new iPhoto App on my iPhone 4 (bit annoyed Apple haven't ported it to 1st Gen iPad but hey!).
Basic question though:  I've edited numerous photos on my iPhone.  How do I sync my work back to my iMac iPhoto library?  Can I even do this?  If I can, does it update the original pictures on my iMac with the amendments processed on my iPhone?
This hasn't been explained by Apple at all (to my knowledge).  I'd hope it would have some integration.  Please tell me it does!

    Hello,
As of now, the iPhoto for iOS app works independently of iPhoto for OS X and does not have the ability to sync libraries or sync photo edits.
You can import your edited photos back to your Mac by saving to the camera roll from iPhoto for iOS and importing them via iPhoto.
    Hope this helps

  • When I add a picture to iPhoto, does it make a copy and keep the original?

I'm trying to rid my computer of useless files lately and I was wondering, if I use iphoto to organize my pictured does it create a copy and save the original somewhere like how it does with itunes? if so where can I find these backed up pictures and delete the originals to get more space?

By default iPhoto copies imported photos to the iPhoto library and you can delete any copy outside of the iPhoto library once you have verified that the imports is good (I wait for at least one backup cycle before deleting the source photos)
NEVER go into the iPhoto library and make any changes of any sort - there are no user serviceable parts within the iPhoto library and if you make any modifications to the content or structure of the iPhoto library you will corrupt your library and lose data

  • IPhoto does not work on my mac

Everytime I try to open my iPhoto on my 15' Mac Book it gives me the same message - The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete.
I have restarted - requested the upgrade - it can run for hours and nothing changes. It has been like this for well over three months.  Please help. I would really like to view photos on my mac
