Saving Changes in Album Info

When I change any information in the 'Get Info' section it allows me to input the information and press okay but then doesn't make or save the changes? Can anyone help?

You have to also close it to free it back up in the organizer.

  • ITunes changes video/album info when I play video/songs

I have purchased movies, tv shows, and music on iTunes, and sometimes when I go to play a song or video I've downloaded iTunes changes the name/album/other info on the video/song, and it then changes where it is located in my iTunes folders, and album art changes as well. What is going on?! I've had it happen multiple times to both songs and videos. And unfortunately, even though it renames the files on my computer and in iTunes causing me to not be able to find them, I can not download them from the cloud because the cloud recognizes that those files are ON my computer (even though they're renamed and I would have to listen to thousands of songs just to find what it's been renamed to).
How can I stop this from happening and losing so much media that I've purchased on this computer?! I'm tempted to delete EVERYTHING, and redownload it from the cloud. However, what's to say it wouldn't happen all over again once I've done that?
Please let me know if you've experienced something similar and what can be done to correct the problem.
    Thank you so much.

I'm having the exact same issue, and it's driving me crazy. Like you, it's been happening for a while, through several updates. This can get confusing, so let me use actual titles to keep this straight. Went to play Lady Gaga "Bad Romance". The album art totally changed to Swell Season and the song "Back Broke" started playing even though the track was still labeled with Lady Gaga info.
So, I tracked down Swell Season "Back Broke" and played that, and it morphed into a completely different song!  I feel like I'm playing whack-a-mole with my songs. AND even though the Lady Gaga track renamed itself to Swell Season "Back Broke" and plays Swell Season "Back Broke", it still sorts alphabetically as if it's Lady Gaga.
My favorite incident so far has been a song with track info A, album art B, and the actual song that plays is C. Three in one combo!  All of these have been with purchased songs.
Deleting and downloading the incorrect tracks from the cloud doesn't do anything. Problem remains. When I tried to redownload Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" from previous purchases in the store, it said that it was "not available in the US store." ????? Should I abandon my itunes library and thousands of dollars worth of purchased songs and just do a monthly thing like Spotify? Because the only solution that has worked so far is REBUYING songs I've already purchased!!
Ridiculous. Apple, find a solution and break it down for me step-by-step. Because I know I'm not the only person with this issue.

  • How do I save changes to album info in "Get Info?"

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't found any answers related to recent versions of iTunes.
Running latest version on Windows 7.  When I make changes to fields in the "Get Info" screen on an album, the changes don't save -- when I go to "Get Info" again, they are gone.
Any hints on how to solve this?
    Thanks.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Set the Energy Saver preferences the way you want them.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Check the settings while in safe mode. Have they been reverted? If so, set them again. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Album Info - Sync Issues

An album I had in my iTunes library had the wrong year in it so it was not in the correct order chronologically so I changed the album release year in this case from 2008 to 1994. However despite it changing in iTunes OK when it syncs over to my phone it reverts to 2008 on my phone but stays as 1994 on my iTunes library.
Any ideas? it is driving me mad!
    iPhone 5s, iOS 8

I'm doing auto. It's kind of sporatic too. Sometimes it works when I change the album info but on others it makes it so the artist won't appear at all on my iPod. I have to do a search on the song to find it. Which is a complete pain when I want to find a specific song.

  • Album Info won't change in Get Info?

For whatever reason when i updated Itunes i had albums split up. The names changed on some of the albums. Going into Get Info i can type in the right album title but it doesn't change the album listed so it stays seperated. I have gone into all the settings that i can think of and am at a loose as to how to fix it. Someone PLEASE HELP!! I need this issue fixed so my library is all correct and consistant.

I have gone through and even triple checked everything matcheds on deleting all the grouping, composer, and comment info so everthing matched. The Artist, Album Artist, Album, and years all match. I took out all the track numbers, even though that shouldn't have anything to do with it. And on top of everything i have EXTENSIVLY made sure that there isn't a space extra in or at the end of a word that would be messing with it. What is really frustrating me is that i can change all the info to be right on the Info tab under "Get Info" but when i click on the summary page it still shows the wrong info. No matter what i do i can't get that to change. Even clicking ok and going back into the info tab it still shows the changes i made but the summary doesn't match. Very frustrating!!

  • Trying to change album art and album info on ipod

i am trying to change the album art and album info on my ipod touch while it is plugged into itunes but while it shows in the itunes window that this information is gone, the ipod still has it and won't update ??
i have a nano that contains all my music with full description but would just like to transfer a handful of songs to my touch and don't want the albums listed and song titles because i just have a few songs from the artist like a compilation ?
    any help welcome..thanks

    JP:
Are you sure the artwork's gone? When you add artwork to a music track via iTunes, it is actually added via the ID3 tag, which are embedded in the song file. The only way that the artwork could be removed if if the tag was modified or you converted your music files to a format that does not support ID3 v.2.x tags.
When you Get Info for a single random song file, and click on the tab for artwork, is this pane empty?
Have you opened the show artwork box under the Source menu in iTunes? (click on the button with the rectangle below the Source menu).
Otherwise, I am at a loss as to how all of your artwork disappeared simply by moving it from one drive to another.

  • Album Info/Art changes in my itunes when changed in another library

    Hello everyone....
This is not a major issue but it is really aggravating to me. My sister and I have separate itunes libraries on one computer. Whenever she changes the album art or title for a artist in her library, whenver I go to my itunes and click on a particular song from that same album, it automatically changes it in mine to whatever she titled it. I thought it had something to do with the Home Sharing feature but since turning that off, it still hasn't fixed the problem. I hope someone will be able to help me.

    Welcome to AD!
It sounds like you each have separate library database files, yet there is only one copy of the actual music content files. The artwork, track, album and title info is stored in the music file. When the music file information gets changed, all itunes can do is read those changes.
The ratings and playcounts are stored in the database file, so those don't change if either of you rates a song or plays it lots of times.
    You can either
    1) Agree with your sister on how to setup the artwork & artist
    2) Each have your own copies of the music files, which will take up double the hard drive space

  • Album info DATED BUT goes back to default

    Dear Sony amd Sony Users,
I have been updating my Walkman album information for a couple of times already and my patience is thinning out. Yes, I do use the Download Music Info and it is great for some selected songs. But those songs that are saved through Bluetooth needs to be updated individually. It worked fine for a period of time but recently those Songs received through bluetooth are going back to default. The album cover, album title and album artists are gone. I have to update it individually again. I have been doing it for a couple of times already alread.
How can I save those album information PERMANENTLY? Please help. Thank you
On the verge of losing it,
    Sirius.

The way I do it is to transfer those files to a Pc and use a free program called mp3tag and change the embedded info then transfer them back

  • How do I stop iTunes from automatically changing artist, album.....?

How do I stop iTunes from automatically changing artist, album, and genre names?
I keep my itunes library folder very organized. You wont find the same artist spelled two different ways in it. But itunes automatically changes the artists, album names, and genres for whatever reason, making it so I have to edit my library all over again.

    No, don't check it!
That is the only setting that would let itunes change file names. Read right underneath it - itunes will create files & folders based on artist & album name.
Something else must be changing your files, then - not iTunes.
Every PC comes with WIndows Media Player. Go into that and uncheck the options to retreive internet info for albums. It's in 2 places, on the Library tab and the Privacy tab.

  • Difficult to edit album info in new iTunes.

Every since the new iTunes 11 I get frustrated every day.
I can't seem to organize my files like I used to. I used to be able to click control i = edit album info..I'd be able to hit "next" and organize info for every track in the album. I can no longer do that. I have to click on every single song seperately and edit it..no more next next next. Anyways..this is just one way the new iTunes is driving me nuts.
    Why did they change it???
It was fine the way it has been for years.
If anyone knows how to easily edit album info, please let me know.
I mostly have problems when importing new music from downloaded mp3 files..unheard of things, like homeschooling history lessons audiobooks. Then I import it and sometimes it shuffles it up into 2 albums instead of one and I have to go back and highlight things, erase things, rename things, to get it to realize that this is one album, with many tracks.
    Sigh.
    Any help appreciated.
Also, if iTunes people read this: If it's not broken, don't fix it. No idea why they changed the way iTunes looks. It's so much more difficult to use now.

I have always managed my music manually, just tried the way you do it, cleaned up my libary synced with my phone and all is OK. Made edits and resynced all OK.
Will manage all my music via the libary which I suppose is the best way to do it anyway.
    Thanks alot for your help.

  • TS1468 When I change the album artist name it changes the order of songs, how do I stop this?

The songs downloaded to my iTunes on my Macbook Pro by CD have divided into different albums. Now I have put them into the same album by changing the Album Artist in File- Get Info but the song order changes; this is a problem as a lot of these albums are from Musical Theatre shows and the songs need to be in chronological order to make sense! Please tell me how I can put them into the same album and also keep them in the same order as on the CD.

For a full run down see Grouping tracks into albums. Generally to control the order of tracks within an album you need to use appropriate disc and track numbers. You may also need to change the sort column for the view.

  • Problem in saving changes in hosts

I am having trouble saving changes in hosts when I edit them in the terminal. So I execute the following directions:
Launch Terminal, found in /Applications/Utilities/ or launched through Spotlight
Type the following command at the prompt:
    sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
Enter the administrator password when requested, you will not see it typed on screen as usual with the command line
Once the hosts file is loaded within nano, use the arrow keys to navigate to the bottom of the hosts file to make your modifications
When finished, hit Control+O followed by ENTER/RETURN to save changes to /private/etc/hosts, then hit Control+X to exit out of nano
Once I try to save my changes, the usual window opens where you can choose you file directory. I cant save it anywhere because there is no suitable file or folder that allows me to do that. I searched a bit about that and saw that I can try entering the /private/etc/hosts directory. There I can see the file of the terminal named "Terminal Saved Output" but still cant save my changes there.
Any idea what might be wrong and what I can do?

    Hi,
If your using internal table to update use syntax
    Update <ztable name> from table <internal table>.
    if work area
    update <ztable name> from <wa>.
since you want to update just zhof try using
    update <ztable name> set zhof = wa-zhof where <some primary key condition>
    Also check your code here:
    update zco_hoff2 from it_zco_hoff2.
where as you have said earlier that your z table name is zcho_hoff2.
Just use COMMIT WORK instead of addition WAIT.
For more info write UPDATE/MODIFY in ur abap editor and do F1 on it.

  • Album info in 7.1.1

The new iTunes will not recognize album info when I am trying to rip CD's. Is it something I did or is anyone else finding the same problem?

Try this and see if it causes iTunes do get the album/track info when you import a CD:
In iTunes, go to: "Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing".
Make sure that the "automatically retrieve CD track names from the internet" option is selected.
Click "OK" to close the window and save your changes.

  • Lost all album info and cannot retrieve it!!!

I purchased my first ipod nano (4gb) and have spent absolutely ages transferring music and saving from cds onto my laptop (wimdows vista) and purchasing from itunes store. Then, all the album info has been lost! I've tried to 'Get album info' and had friends who use itunes with their ipods but no one knows what to do. Can anybody help me please?

Thanks for the clarification, Shaney boy.
Although it still strikes me as a very unusual situation. Because in addition to the Song Names themselves, the Artist and Album names (along with a variety of other information) are all stored in the actual music files.
And offhand I can't imagine why that information would either disappear from the files or become non-existant as far as iTunes is concerned.
    Just a few questions:
I'm assuming the CD's were imported with iTunes, can you confirm whether or not that is the case?
Is it just the information that is disappearing, i.e., are the Artist and Album columns still there and all blank or have the columns themselves disappeared?
Do you - at least temporarily - get the lost information back when you highlight the tracks and go to the iTunes Advanced menu > Get CD Track Names?
Whatever the case, perhaps if you post a screenshot of your iTunes Library display, as per Hudgie's User Tip , it will provide us with some clue as to what might be going on.
