Saving clips in DV format

I have been looking at this site for a few years now but this is my first post. It has been a great knowledge base and very useful and to date I have been able to get all of my answers from previous posts. This one I could not find and may just be me not understanding formats.
I need to post several clips on a FTP Server (the clips will be used by the news media as cover shots to there stories). It sounds like they would like the best quality format. In my case it is DV Cam Shoot on a Sony camera. I have captured them on FCPHD and just need to post the DV clips. How do I export a DV format that all editors will be able to use and does not impose any further compression?

That is the problem I do not know who will pick it up. it goes out on a press release and any media service that would like can grab it. so is there a format that will work on "Those other programs" as well as FCP

This is the step that I took after inputting my signature.
On the right, after saving my document, I click "Get Others to Sign." I was confused because it says that it's powered by EchoSign. Like I stated before, my clients are able to sign this document when I send it to them, but it is returned to me with their signature (not in the signature field, but at the end of the document), and my signature is missing. I tested this on myself - my signature is missing when they receive it.

Have used large format, but using the 'burn' software, I am not getting seamless video quality on DVD even though I am burning at 2* speed. Any ideas? Do I need better software? Or is there a problem with the SuperDrive?

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.

Hi there. For anyone searching, here are the results of my research and corresponding advice back to Sony...
Thanks, your comments looked correct but did not solve my problem. You may be interested to know after much testing and research, I was able to ascertain that some of the camera's AVCHD settings iMovie cannot see at all (only some, which made it even harder to figure out!). Plus, if you have recorded movie clips in more than one format to the memory card (MP4 or any one of the AVCHD's), iMovie cannot see any of the AVCHD's.
Bottom line - forgo the benefits of AVCHD on the Sony NEX-5N and just use MP4 until Apple makes it easier.

Problems with files saving in a quicktime format

I am having a problem with files from several programs in my adobe CS6 Master Collection saving in a quicktime format. I am running a Windows7 PC. It appears to be happening in both photoshop and fireworks from what I can tell. Does anybody have any idea why this is doing it and how to fix it?

Fireworks doesn't save or export in Quicktime format.

Exporting Clip to WMV Format?

I'm wondering how I can 'pursuade' my PE7 installation to export a movie clip in WMV format?
Import/Export of WMV files are possbile, if I believe the help manual. But as I try to do a file>exprot action, the dialog comes up with a predefined xxx.avi extension. I don't see any possibility to select the wmv format.
Can anybody help me out there?

thank's for the quick reply.
Since I work with a German language system, I suppose you refer to the tab "verteilen" on my system which offers me 3 options:
Adobe flash video, Mpeg or DV AVI.
From there, only the option mpeg then offers further presets other than PAL or NTSC.
Since I'm basically a newbie in regards to video formats I get lost there - which one of the presets is a wmv format?
Unfortunately 'wmv' it not mentioned there in plain text .
PAL and NTSC format I would exclude, but what stands behind
H264 xx, HD720 xx, Mpeg2 1400 xx, Mpeg2 1920 xx, Mpeg1 Multimedia and Mpeg2 Multimedia?
Is any of these formats a wmv format?

Hi everyone, I'm using Illustrator CS4 and encountering the following problem:
I made a level map in illustrator that exceeds 10000x10000 pixels. When I try to export the image as a PNG, I get the error "Could not complete this operation. The rasterized image exceeded the maximum bounds for saving to the PNG format". I tried saving in JPG and others as well, but got similar errors.
How can I get around this?

Saved clips broken after being transfered to PC

Hey Forum!
When i transfer my saved clips from my PS4 to a usb a lot of the clips end up being broken. My saved clips are 3 minutes long and that is also the lenght that my computer tells me that they have. But for some reason a lot of the clips just end half way in when i play them in VLC or Media Player. Let's say i did something cool at 2:36 but then the clip just ends at 2:12 even though it says the clip is 3 minutes long. If i import the clip to a video editor, the clip will show as only being 2:12 minutes long or whenever it stops (this seems to be random). There's nothing wrong with the clips when playing them on my PS4 before copying them to the usb.

You'll need to connect the iPod to iTunes and restore it. If iTunes doesn't see the iPod, try manually placing the iPod in disk mode and connecting to your PC and iTunes in disk mode.

A problem occurs when saving in the Raw format.

I just started photographing using the Raw format. When I edit a picture and then save it in Photoshop CS5, the file appears blacked out but when I click on the file, the picture comes up perfectly in CS5. Does anyone know why this happens and how do I correct it? This effect does not happen when I save a picture in the jpeg format.

I think it depends on how you read the OP's post. It could also mean that he started using RAW from the camera, when he saves the file using the default format (psd) that there is no thumbnail in explorer. But when saved as a jpg there is.
I deduced that from the statement:
"the file appears blacked out but when I click on the file, the picture comes up perfectly in CS5."

Saving rights and date format in Forms - Acrobat Professional 8

I have designed a form for a client in Acrobat 8 Professional, and enabled viewing rights in Reader. There will be a lot of people using this form that are not in any way computer literate, and the client has requested that I do the following:
1. I have set up the date format (in a date-of-birth field) to dd/mm/yy, limited to 8 characters, and a Tool-tip explaining how the date must be written. However, if you enter the date by mistake as 01/01/2001, it will be allowed, and appear as 01/01/20 (instead of coming up with an error message saying the 20 is wrong and it should be 01). I understand that to the form, there's nothing wrong with this date, but is there any way I can get a pop-up box to appear if either '19' or '20' appears as the year, and indicate to the form-filler that they should check what they've entered?
2. They want the user, when the document is opened in Reader, to NOT be allowed the 'Save' feature, but only allow them to 'Save AS', so as not to overwrite the master document, which will be stored in a folder. The information in these forms are of a sensitive nature, so they don't want it getting saved by accident into the master document for anyone to see.
I would be delighted if you were able to give me any ideas on the above.

For #1, you can, but it would involve some custom JavaScript programming to replace what Acrobat uses as the Keystroke/Format scripts.
For #2, you cannot set up the document or Acrobat (Reader) to prevent a Save but allow a Save As. The best way to do what you want is to set up the appropriate file permissions using the OS's file system to prevent users from changing the file. A quick & dirty way is to simply set the file to read-only, but this is often easy for a user to undo.
