Saving data for iphone & ipod

I'm upgrading windows xp to windows 7 so i'm doing a clean install. I want to backup all of my data in itunes for my phone and ipod. i'm not worried about my music and playlists, but i do want to save my apps, data and settings for my phone and games for my ipod. Do i just save the mydocuments>mymusic>itunes folder, then replace it after the reinstall? or do i need to do more? thanks !

Updated ipod to iOS5 and ALL saved data for games was deleted, basiclly got to start all games again from start. More annoyed about in-app purchases
Angry birds including the Mighty Eagle which bought, nowI have to buy it again if i want it making me spend more money, and Pinball HD whichI had Slayer another in-app purchase but got to buy it again.
Angry bird seasons, Doctor Who Parking Mania, Cut the rope and much more, every game i checked so far except for 2 games i got works thru from game Center
I did update iPod before updated iOS so saved data should be on ipod, Videos music all on ipod except for camera roll they all been deleted as well thanks to apple.
is there any way of recovering it from itunes back onto ipod so theres no loss, If i cant then what?
ipod was 4.3.3 before the update the previous version

Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and look at the date of the backup.  Does the date f the backup correspond to whene the saved games would be on the iOd?  If so, restore the iPod from backup.  Make sure that the apps are in the iTunes library so they will be synced t the iPOd as part of the restore from backup
Make sure thew auto-syncing is turned off . Otherwise, when yu connct the iPod to the computer the old backup will be deleted and replaced with the new ne that doe not contain the data. To turn off, check the box in iTunes>Prefernences>Devices that says "Prevent iPods....syncing".

  • MonoTouch vs Objective-C for iPhone/iPod/iPad development [closed]

For someone with .Net experience and wanting to develop for iPhone/iPod/iPad, is it worth learning Objective-C? Is MonoTouch a good alternative? What are some of the trade-offs when using MonoTouch vs coding in Objective-C?

Most of the information you've suggested there would be found in the source repository.
The only thing you really need is the purpose section, which says what the class is there for.
Would it be tedious to look in repository every time you want to know the other information? I'd say no. How often do you care who the original author was? Or when the file was first created? Plugins (such as Ankh SVN for Visual Studio) often allow you to right
click within your current file and view the repoistory log for the file, so it's not that much of a hassle to actually see this information.
Additionally, if you store the version history in a comment, this comment needs to be maintained. So over time there's a chance it could be lying to you. The source code repository automatically keeps this historical data, so doesn't need that maintenance,
    and will be accurate.

I am aware that the iPod Touch 5g has no official date yet, on the site it only says: Available to ship: October. But, does anyone know what a possible, date for the iPod to be released? :)

Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.
    Take care!

  • Best database format for iPhone / iPod Touch Application?

Hello Adobe Community, I hope you can help me again with this one:
I plan to develop an iPhone / iPod Touch application that reads from an offline database (basically a big list of text data). Which format should / could I use? XML? Any other? And how would the XML be embedded / included in the App?
Thank you very much in advance!
    Best regards,
    Chico

Hi Alex, thanks for replying - I was hoping you would!
Are you sure about that? It has been said that it is not possible, here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/533885?tstart=0
Also, would you have a specific link to some example / tutorial / documentation where it works with Flash?
Finally, are you being specific about the upcoming cs5, or would it work on (current) cs4?
    Thanks a ton!

  • Cannot Import Video made with iMovie for iPhone/iPod Touch

I edited a video on my iPod touch using Apple's iMovie. The resulting .MOV file that iMovie creates will not import into iPhoto '11. While iMovie recognises the file just fine, iPhoto believes it is an unsupported file type. It's a .MOV for goodness sakes created with Apple's own hardware and program! Very strange. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Hey there. In answer to your question, all other clips that appear in my camera roll are easily seen by iPhoto. It is only those movies that I have created with iMovie for iPhone that iPhoto does not recognize. It's really strange, considering the fact that it's just a .MOV file. As a result, I've had to download a program called 'DiskAid' that allows me to transfer the .MOV file directly to my computer from the iPod Touch.
In answer to your question regarding whether or not iMovie for iPhone was worth downloading, I would have to say yes (assuming of course the import-to-iPhoto problem gets fixed). It's not a perfect program. My biggest complaint is that you have to import clips ONE at a time. There's no 'import all' option. This is really time consuming as you have to cycle through all the videos on your iPod or iPhone and manually tap each one and repeat. My dad likes to take a lot of 1-minute videos that then have to get spliced together and that can be really tedious with how this iMovie is currently set up. However, if you regularly think to add your clips to an existing project as you go along, things should be fine. It could do with a few more features and faster rendering times, but on the whole, it's a decent program. I have a feeling, though, that it was designed more for the YouTube generation who want to upload a five-minute video instead of people like my father and I who like to edit an hour or so and then eventually burn to a DVD. iMovie for the Mac still CERTAINLY has it's place.

  • Assigning dates for Iphone Contacts

When trying to set a birthday date for one of my contacts I have encounterd a wierd bug...
My contacts birtday is may 15th 1949, but when setting the appropreate month and year the Iphone locks all the days and allows choosing only may 1st 1949!!
I checked the month against different years (1950,1948 etc..) and also checked the year against different months (June, July etc..) but only this specific combination of may 1949 dissables all the days in the months and locks the date on may 1st
I hope someone can tell me why this is or if it can be fixed in some way.. (My friend is a bit dissappointed......)
    Thanks for you help!!

  • Hyperlinks with Keynote for iPhone/iPod Touch

Hello, everyone. I bought Keynote hoping to use it to make classroom presentations with my iPod Touch, Apple's VGA adapter cord, and a projector. Although Keynote presentations show up through the projector through the VGA cord, it is not possible in Keynote's full-screen mode to activate any of the presentation's hyperlinks. On the iPod Touch alone (w/o VGA cord), a double-tap on a hyperlink opens it up in Safari. But this is of little use because A) without VGA adapter, no public presentation at all, and B) Safari on iOS is not (yet) compatible with the VGA adapter anyway.
Does anyone know of a way around this problem? Or how to lobby Apple to modify Keynote to allow for easy hyperlink triggers within a presentation, and to modify Safari to be compatible with the VGA adapter (or allowing the user to set an adapter-friendly browser as the default one for hyperlinks in Keynote)?
    Thanks.

  • Free data for iPhone 6

how long does it take to get the free data.  It has been a week. I called and have request number

Are you speaking of the 1GB Bonus Data because this entirely different than Free Data. I have never heard of free data.
Now. The 1GB Bonus Data is dependent upon you being on the More Everything Plan of 1GB or higher and having upgraded your during the promotional period. I am not sure if the phone was to be activated during that time as I know a lot of people were ordering the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and waiting until after the promotion end date for the device. I would look at the copy or your contract and see if the bonus data is stated on there. This can be found by logging into your account on www.vzw.com and selecting Documents and Receipts from the left hand side. If you qualify for the bonus data it should be shown on your contract and would appear automatically when you log in to the website or view your usage on the mobile app.
