Saving drafts from outlook to my device
Hello all,
does anyone know how i can view a saved draft created in outlook on my devices? Essentially I want to be able to create a draft at my desk, then update it on the road if need be, then send it out after the update on my device.
Any clues?
Message Edited by singha on 11-06-2008 03:52 PM
Unfortunately the Drafts folder isn't visible on a BlackBerry

Trouble saving documents from Outlook to SharePoint 2010 library - missing tags
Hello
One of our users is seeing a strange issue with saving documents from Outlook. It appears that the document already had tags from the library, but the user said the document was never uploaded to the library.
All of the server tags show Currently Unavailable, and the user cannot upload this document to the library.
See screen shot:
Please advise,Hi thematrixhasyou,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update documents from Outlook to SharePoint 2010.
I did a test as the followings:
1. Create a library, and allow Content Type as Library settings->Advanced Setting, under ‘Allow management of content type?’, select Yes.
2. Click on Library Settings->Document under Content Types, click on Document Information Panel settings, and select ‘Always show Document…’.
3. Create some custom cloumns
4. Upload some documents to the library
5. Then click on Library->Connect to Outlook, the library will be synced to Outlook
6. In Outlook, find the library
7. Double click a document, the document was opened, and the document information(Title and custom columns) were displayed correctly.
8. Change the document, and save it
9. Then close the document, it pop up a dailog box, like the below screenshot.
10. Click on Update, then the document will be updated in SharePoint
Which type did you use for the custom columns (Year, Category, Document Type)?
Please have a try as the above steps.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Wendy

Retrieve Saved Draft from Gmail
Would certainly appreciate some help. I spent 2 hours yesterday drafting an e-mail on my Mac and saved it as a draft. Last night i noticed all of the saved messages on my Blackberry 8350i that ended up on it from when I was generating the email and deleted these. Today when I opened up Gmail and clicked on the saved draft, it immediately disappeared and I can no longer find it. Could someone plese let me know if there is a way to recover this so I don't have to start over?
Many ThanksHello,
Thank you Community Members for providing very good troubleshooting tips. It is very much appreciated.
Brat, keep in mind, Verizon Wireless doesn't have permissions to troubleshoot Google's GMAIL platform. I was able to find some some information directly through Google's website that might be helpful. Please view the information at the link below:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.gm
Going forward, and since Backup Assistant is a free Verizon Wireless service, I encourage you to activate this feature on your device to prevent the loss of your contact information in the future. Each day, our Backup Assistant application will scan your contact list for any changes and save them to our servers. For more information on our Backup Assistant application, please visit the link below:

You can also view your past billing statements online to view the phone numbers that you called and received and enter them back into your device.
Thank you.

We have the exact same issue as this but our groups are already universal security group and we still have problem:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-NZ/exchangesvrmigration/thread/2c953cb4-5411-4f72-beb9-6b4c16fd6685
The distribution-groups were upgraded to Exchange 2010. User A can update the group from Outlook 2003 or OWA 2010 but not from Outlook 2010. Anyone know the solution?
thanksHi lilyl,
For this issue, please refer to this document:
How to Manage Groups that I already own in Exchange 2010?
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/18/3408844.aspx
So what does the "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform
this operation on this object." error mean, when you are connecting to an Exchange 2010 server?
It means Exchange 2010 is doing its job - as designed...
Thanks,
Evan

Cannot save attachments from outlook to My Documents.
At the company i worked for, there is a problem with saving attachments from Outlook in to My Documents.
Info:
Outlook 2010
Exchange Server 2007 (CCR Cluster 1 HUB and 2 MBX)
Redirected My Documents
File Cluster (Windows Server 2003 Ent)
All the people using Outlook working at the company can’t save their outlook attachments to the My Documents
(which is relocated to the homedir folder on the file cluster )
anymore.
The strange part here is, that the attachments are saved to that location. Only a notification pop-ups in outlook
and says, that the attachment can’t be saved.
L
When i open the My Documents and tried to save something, there is no problem.
The problem occured spontaneously,
we can’t find
a solution to fix it.
On the file cluster the security rights on the profile
and homefolder are
correct, nothing changed.
Yesterday I updated both Exchange nodes and did a failover and rebooted the passive node.
The problem still exists, when people tried to save there attachment into My Documents it keeps popping op.
When the people save there attachment on the Desktop, than there is no warning.
Sorry for my bad English, hopefully someone can help me.
Kind Regards,
ArieHi,
This issue can be caused by Protected View settings in Office prevent saving E-mail Attachments. Please try the following steps to check this issue:
Open an Office product such as Excel.
Choose File > Options > Trust Center
Click “Trust Center Settings” Button
Choose Protected View in left side selection pane.
Check appropriate check boxes for Protected View settings.

How do I export calendar and contact files in Outlook and import them into iphone 4. I operate Mac OS X at home and wish to carry my work information with me on my iPhone.
You do not export anything.
Instead, sync the content from Outlook to your device via iTunes.
Try reading the manual, it's included on the device or here. -

Transferring saved messages from a Windows Outlook Express
Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is any way to transfer my emails that I saved in Outlook Express in my old PC to a local folder in Mail?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
JimboThe really easy way to import mail from Outlook Express, Outlook, or any number of other email programs is to set up a.mac account (IMAP) on your Apple computer, close the program, then set up your IMAP .mac account in Outlook Express (be sure to download and show IMAP folders in Outlook Express or Outlook) on your old computer. Then from OE, simply drag and drop all your email (or folders for that matter) into the appropriate folder in the IMAP folder list, which will be displayed below the regular OE folders. Then, close OE or Outlook, and go to your Apple computer and open Mail---all your email will be in the IMAP folders just where you moved them.
The important concept in this is that you have to use an IMAP account to transfer the email (Mail and .mac, but there is a 60-day free trial so it doesn't cost anything, or, use another IMAP account, any one will do).
I do this all the time because I have to work from different computers on the same accounts and files, and everything has to be in sync. It's easy, doesn't cost anything, and everything always gets transfered, as opposed to the sometime failures of transfer programs.

Exporting selected contacts from Outlook 2011 for Mac
I've wanted to easily export a set of selected contacts from Outlook in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011. I've been through many threads about synching to Address Book and then exporting, but I've found a host of troubles, including duplicate copies of contacts being created.
So, I finally broke down and wrote an AppleScript script to export all of the currently selected contacts from Outlook to a file in either vcf (vcard) or csv (comma separated value) format. The best use of this script is to:
-- Install this as a script in Microsoft Outlook by saving the script below to Documents>Microsoft User Data>Outlook Script Menu Items
-- Change to your Contacts in Outlook. Use the Outlook search bar to find the contacts you want to export. You might search by name, category, company, or anything else that identifies the contacts you want to export. Or, you might just leave the view showing all contacts.
-- Select the contacts you want to export
-- Launch the script
The script will have you select between vcard and csv and select a destination file. This hasn't been optimized for speed, so if you're exporting 100's or 1,000's of contacts, be patient. And there isn't a progress bar at present, so you have to wait. It will display an alert when it's complete.
Sorry not to have a download location for you. You'll just have to copy the script text :-). Keep in mind there's been some but limited testing. Read the comments for details. And enjoy.

-- build_csv_line(): format one line for the csv file

-- Unfortunately I've not figured out how to use perl-style generation of

-- by simply using the field name to refer to a Contact properly.
-- Note that email address are a special case as they're a list of objects in
-- Outlook. So these are handled specially in the export function and can only
-- be selected by the column names "home email", "work email", and "other email".
-- Outlook allows a contact to have more than one of each type of email address
-- but not all contact managers are the same. This script takes the first of
-- each type. So if a contact has more than one "home" email address, you will
-- only be able to export the first to a csv file. Suggest you clean up your
-- addresses in Outlook to adapt. The alternative is to support multiple
-- columns in the csv like "other email 1" and "other email 2", but that's not
-- supported in this version.
-- Another note. In this version, any embedded "return" or "linefeed" characters
-- found in a property of a contact are converted to a space. That means that
-- notes, in particular, will be reformated. That said, this gets arond a problem
-- with embedded carriage returns in address fields that throw off importing
-- the csv file.
-- Also note that at this time IM addresses aren't supported, but it's an easy add
-- following the same logic as email addresses.
