Saving font's in Photo Shop

I'm making a book with large full bleed illustrations on each page.
For ease of use I would like to use regular photoshop fonts. If I flatten and save my pages as Tiff files will it be the same as outlining fonts in Illustrator? In other words I won't have to include fonts. I am then going to drop the pages in InDesign in correctly paginated spreads to staple in the middle.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm worried I might be overlooking something and I'm on a tight turn around.

If the resolution is adequate the rasterized text is quite usable I think.
Can you spot which one is rasterized when viewed at 100%?

What is the exact message that is displayed?
What have you tried so far?
Do the files display on your browser? In Bridge?
What are you doing when it happens?
Are the files still on your cameras card? If so and,you copy one to your desktop and save it without changes, does it reload properly?
Don't worry about providing too much information. Every little bit helps.

I have opened files in photo shop and illustrator and in previously saved files only the last tool used can be used even though I have changed the tool in the tool bar. In new files onyly the pencil with the strike thru is available even though I try other tools and create new layers.

Photo shop elements 7

I have Photo Shop Elements 7 - using with Windows XP. In the Organizer section, main menu, I cannot
get the File, Edit, Find, View to show up without having to click on the double arrows first. I would like
them to appear as they do in Editor section. Thanks for any help.

If you follow the link in John's first option, you will find these instructions for XP:
Reduce the Windows screen font size to 96 dpi.
Choose Start > Control Panel > Display or Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display.
Choose Settings > Advanced.
Choose Normal Size (96 DPI) from the DPI Settings menu.
Click OK to the warning, then click Apply.
Click Yes in the General dialog box if it states that the required files are already installed on your desktop.
Close the Display Properties Control Panel.
Restart your computer.

Photo shop mock up info

Hi i was wondering about information on using photo shop to build a mockup for a web site and import that mockup into dreamweaver. can it be done? is it hard to do this way. in the past i have for school related projects did such an idea. like would jump into DW. never used photo shop other than image editing. my background is photography. thats why i am asking. i am now finding out that photo shop can be used more than just for images. right now i found out it works with muse as well.
2. can the same be used for a web app mock up as well? like importing a web mock up in photo shop and importing it into DW.

IPhoto, Adobe Photo Shop Elements, & Photo Files

Just noticed that Photo Shop Elements is on sale this week. If I purchase/download it, will I lose my iPhoto library? I have version '09, 8.1.2 (424). I've never upgraded to a newer version of iPhoto for fear of losing my library, based on some of the comments from other forums. I do have my computer backed up via a LaCie drive and have had to reload my library once before. (It's very scary when you think you've lose 30K photos!)

Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:

Note 1: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.
Note 2: editing a RAW file with either PSE or PS creates a new file which must be saved outside of iPhoto, i.e. the Desktop, and imported as a new photo into the iPhoto Library.

Open with which app? Photoshop Elements? Or another one like Preview? Can you open "other" psd photos?

Uninstall photo shop elements 6

I bought a new V500 epson scanner from Staples about a week ago. When I tried to install photo shop elements 6 the install got down to 38 seconds left and froze up. I turned the computer off and then on again. I found that the photo shop was not completely installed and it won't allow me to uninstall either. Iwould like to install and then reinstall. How can I uninstall photo shop? Thank you for you help.

You have corrupted the system registry
You need to manually delete the program folder, and then buy a registry repair program

You also need software to make a full hard drive backup to an external USB drive
Hardware crashes or virus infections happen, so you should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)

Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up

Photo shop and frame by frame touch up

Hi Group:
I am using FCP and would like to touch about about 5 seconds of video using photo shop. Can anyone outline the steps.
I have done the following>
Open Photo shop.
Click import (Frame by frame)
Select the video from the browser
picked a frame and made changes
this is where I get stuck ...........how do I save it so that the frame gets saved directly in the video. As opposed to a still frame that is kept separate from the video?
What is the most efficient way to do touch up in photo shop?

Once you import a frame of video into Photoshop, it is no longer video, but a still image. The method I'm familiar with is to set an IN and OUT point in FCP's Timeline for the portion of the clip that you need to touch up. Next, export that section as an Image Sequence. Specify the file type and other options (use a non-compressed format for best results - not jpg), then export to the location you specify. Open the images in Photoshop and do the touch up work. If there isn't much movement from image to image, you may be able to record actions to automate some of the work.
When you're done in Photoshop, launch FCP and set the Still Image Duration in FCP's preferences to 1 frame. Import the folder containing the image sequence. Place the Timeline playhead where the images need to start. Set the Target track and drag the entire folder to the Timeline.

Re Photo Shop 3.0 version to another version ?

At present time I have photo shop 3.0 and have lost the registration number, and it is not available anymore by the company. So is there a newer adobe photoshop that I can use to obtain my pictures and use from now on?

Was it photoshop, photoshop elements, photoshop starter, photoshop lightroom, or photoshop album?
Your pictures should be located on your hard drive, so any program can access them. Elements, starter, lightroom and album uses a database. The catalog in those programs are thumbnails and point to the file on the hard drive. Any changes made are stored in the database and can be saved in the metafile of each image on the hard drive.
So if you did not save the metafiles, then the worst case senerio would be the edits are gone, but the pictures still exist.
At this point you have some choices, photoshop elements, photoshop lightroom, or photoshop. Elements and lightroom are avaiable as a standalone purchase. Lightroom and photoshop are avaiable as a subscription. Therefore with lightroom you have a choice between standalone or subscription.
With the subscription, you can get a single app (lightroom or photoshop), a photography subscription (lightroom and photoshop) or full suite subscription (this includes all the apps that are in the previous CS6 master suite + additional apps) The subscription is version CC not CS6 incase I confused you any.

How do you transfer Creative Cloud (Light Room & Photo Shop) from your old Desk top to a new desk top

I have just got a new desk top and I am trying to work out how to get The creative Cloud programs I use (light Room and Photo Shop) off my old Desk top and onto the new desktop. Does any one know how to do this or have already done it, or do you have to cancel the subscription on the old PC and start a new subscription for the new PC.

You do not need to cancel the subscription. You can simply follow the article: Creative Cloud Help | Download, install, update, or uninstall apps which will help you to install the Adobe CC application on your new PC.
If possible you can also deactivate the license from your previous computer using the article: Activation & Deactivation Help.

What OS version? What's the exact error? Exactly when does the error occur? What previous versions? What is on the screen when the error displays? Does Photoshop get fully open?
Try opening Photoshop holding down Shift key immediately to turn off plug-ins. Lots of good suggestions here: Photoshop: Basic Troubleshooting steps to fix most issues

Well, yes, data does get corrupted sometimes.
The trick is finding what data.
By 'cleaned' are you therefor meaning that the drive has been erased and the system re-installed?
Because that's the quickest way to deal with such a situation.
Back up the system first of course,
Add back 3rd party apps one at a time in case one of them is causing the problem.

Nothing. It's nothing to do with PSE; this is a limitation of Photos, as is the loss of being able to use an external editor without exporting copies of your images.
