Saving GarageBand's Favorites

Does anyone have an idea on how to save a list of GarageBand's favorites?
Something that's happened to me a couple of times, with both GarageBand and with iTunes: I'll take a lot of time over many weeks to build up a great collection of favorites (in GB) or ratings of songs (in iTunes) and then something will happen -- a crash, I move stuff around, I reformat the old computer, whatever -- and rebuild the index (I guess) and my favorites in GB are gone and my song ratings in iTunes are gone.
I realize this is totally due to user stupidity. Not trying to blame Apple.
But does anyone know how one would go about backing up one's list of favorites in GB so that if one did rebuild the index one wouldn't lose all their favorites?
Thanks in advance
Bloom

I'll take a quick stab at that one.
It would preserve them in a way. You won't see it listed as a named preset, but the settings are there in the song. So if you opened the song and select the track that used a preset you made on another machine (or had lost on the same machine), you could then do a save preset and have a named preset with the same settings.
The same would not necessarily be true for instruments, which is to say: I'm not sure how that works. If you don't have that instrument on the other machine, GB can't play (though I'd expect the effect settings to carry over). I don't THINK Archive will carry over the instrument (reasonably sure)
Untested, but this should be correct --Hang

  • Saving guitar modeling favorites...

When I make changes to standard garageband guitar and pedal configurations (i.e. add pedals, etc.) I can not figure out how to save them as a favorite. I thought it would be at the bottom when it asked me to "safe settings" but I have no clue where it is saved to? Is there a place where you can save you favorite configurations?

all your settings are accessible via the PopUp menu over the amp, under the top, "My Settings," portion of the menu. there is a no option to "favorite" specific presets.

  • IViews saved in Portal favorites - start of these shows no data

    Hi experts,
we have WebQueries that are executed in the Protal. After I get the output of the query I save the view under the portal favorites (Save as). This will be done correct. Unfortunately, if I click on the Portal favorite link I get no output.
The screen is complete empty. It seems the execution of the view runs in a endless loop.
Could you give me information to solve the problem and to get the view with all data ,please?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Marco

In the favourites you are saving  a link to start the iView, not the results of running the iView.  Let me give another example. If you run an iView that starts an SAP transaction and you enter some data and use the execute button, you see a report or whatever. Using the "Add to portal favourites" only adds the option to start the transaction - you still need to enter your values etc and use execute,
Try saving the portal favourite link before running the query and see what happens.

  • I saved my IE favorites from my work computer on a cd-r and want to transfer them to my new Win7 home computer. I have thousands of them in hundreds of folders. What is the easiest way to put them into my new computer? I am using FF 6. Thanks.

    I am using FF6.

Photos taken by and saved to the iPod are included in the backup that iTunes makes evetime you sync or if do a manual or iCloud backup.
Per the following the backup includes:
    iTunes: About iOS backups
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
Thus if you backed up after the photos were taken yuo can restore an iDevice from that backup

  • Importing edited/saved Garageband instruments from earlier version

I am wondering how to import the old instruments I created on a previous version of Garageband in GB '09, since it doesn't seem that the new version works from a Library. I have the .cst files in a library file that I named "GarageBand," (with the Master/Real/Software sub-folders) but no idea how to get GB to read these.

I don't know what you mean by "it doesn't seem that the new version works from a Library" - but GB sure uses the instruments in the Libary folders, both in your user Library and in the general Library folder. Your presets have to go into the proper subfolders in User/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library. Or in the HD/Library... folder, then they are available for all users.

  • Saving GarageBand projects (Version 10.0.2), so they are accessible in the old versions?

How do you save projects on GarageBand (Version: 10.0.2) And make them open in old versions of the software.
As i cannot find have to save the project so it can be accessed on a Mac operating on the old version.\
    Thanks !

Sorry, but that is not possible. You can only open projects in the same version that created the projects or in newer versions. But you cannot downgrade a project to an older version.
The only thing you could do would be to share each track separately as an audio file, and then to combine these exported tracks again in the older version of GarageBand.

  • Saving Garageband 09 files as 08

At the school I am working at we have only got garageband 08 on the macs, however some students have got 09 at home and want to work on their work at both home and school.
Is there a way they can save their work at home so it will work on 08?
    Thanks

  • Saving GarageBand 08 audio files in PPT 2011

I have been using GB to make audio files to insert into PPT for a few years. Suddenly, I cannot save the files. I can insert and play them but they wiil not play the next time I open PPT. Will the upgrade to 11 solve this? Can you tell me why? I have not upgraded because I saw a caution about problems for 11.
    MacBook 10.6.8
    Thanks

That's definitely a question that only PPT users/experts will be able to answer. The audio files you export from GB are ordinary AIFF/AAC/MP3 files.

  • Saving Portal Favorites - Variables Not saved

    Hi
We upgraded our BI 7 last week to Support Pack 17.
Now, when we Save As to create a Favorite in the Portal, the new Favorite doesn't keep the values entered in the Variable Entry screen such as Profit Centre or Fiscal Period.
Changes made within the report, such as deleting unwanted columns, are retained in the Favorite after Saving As.
Old Favorites, created before the upgrade,  still display the values entered in the Variable Entry screen.  They still work.
    Any ideas ?
    John

    Hi John,
Implement the ABAP & Java correction mentioned in note 1273024. This should solve your issue.

  • Saving Executed BI Reprots in Portal Favorites

    Hi Team,
I had saved executed BI reports in Portal favorites. (I Ran the BI report  gave the input  executed BI report  saved in Portal Favorites.)
After I run the saved report from Portal Favorites again itu2019s asking BI Input screen instead of showing directly executed report.
Before it was showing executed report and recently the portal favorites behaving like this.
My question- what is the portal favoriteu2019s behavior in the perspective of BI reports.
Can you please clarify on this or give me some clues to solve this issue.
Quick response is high appreciates for my urgency.
    Thanks in Advance
    Venky

    Hi Mikhail/Bijro,
    Thanks for quick response.
    That's true.
But once we execute the report we can save as BI variant using "Save As" button. But later on if user wants to see same executed report user must give some input --> run the report --> open saved Variants using "Open" button to see saved executed report.
Instead of this, is there any way to save Executed BI variant into Portal Favorites? By that user can run the executed report from portal favorites?
I appreciate if you suggest me on this ASAP.
    Regards

  • Error "Session Timed Out" When saving  webi report as PDF

    Hi,
I am getting below error when saving  report as PDF
The Session Timed Out.The document *.wid has been auto saved  in the Favorites~WebIntelligence Folder..Click Restore to retrieve it.
    (ERROR : WIJ600001).
I get above error in PROD  but works fine in DEV.
    Version :  BOE 3.1 SP7 (DEV & PROD).
Session Time out  set as  one hour.
Report runs for 3 minutes .once I get the data if I try to save it as PDF immediately I get the above mentioned Error.

The default Webi auto-save is every 600 seconds, which is 10 minutes.  You could increase it to 3600 seconds (1 hour) in CMC -> Applications > Web Intelligence > Properties > Auto-save Settings on "Auto-save time delay".
See KB 1297132 - Error: WIJ 60001 after the Web Intelligence Java Report Panel is left inactive some time on http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1297132.

  • I have my old Internet Explorer-Favorites in a drawer and would like to import them in FireFox

I have my old Internet Explorer Favorites in a drawer on the harddisk and would like to import them into FireFox. How can do this?

    1.
    Open up a Firefox window.
    2.
Click on the "Bookmarks" menu and select "Manage Bookmarks." If you are using Firefox 3.6.2, then you need to click on "Organize Bookmarks..."
    3.
In the window that pops up click on the "File" menu and select "Import." In case of Firefox 3.6.2, click on "Import and Backup" just above the list. Then click on the "Import HTML" option from the drop-down list. A new window comes up.
    4.
Select the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" option if you are importing favorites from Internet Explorer on the same computer. Then click next. If you are importing from a file of saved bookmarks or favorites choose "From File" and click next.
    5.
Select the file in the open window that pops up and then click "Open" if you are importing from a file. Firefox will do the rest for you. If importing from Internet Explorer, just click "Finished" when it's done.

  • Reports in Favorite Reports did not run when open

In SCOM 2012, I have run a few reports with the report template in the default SCOM management pack and saved them in the Favorite Report. When I open the saved reports at the Favorite Report again, they suppose to be run automatically. However, when I open
the report, it stopped at the parameters page and I need to click the run button explicitly. Does any one know why it is so and how can I make it run automatically when I open the reports which I have saved in the Favorite Report.
Thanks a lot for any advice.

Thanks a lot for your comment.
First of all, there is no error at all and no message in the event log that related to this issue. The report saved in Favorite Reports did able to run successfully without any error just only I need to click the run button manually. Suppose it should run
    automatically, right?
Second, there actually two MS (say MS01 and MS02) and both of them point to the same SSRS. Say for example, the report saved in the Favorite Reports at the Operation console on MS01 will not run automatically when open it. The behavior is the same when using
the Operation console on MS02 to open that particular report saved on MS01.
However, when I save a report in the Favorite Reports at the Operation console on MS02, it will run automatically when I reopen it. Then I use the Operation console on MS01 to reopen this report, it will run automatically as expected.
In short, report saved in MS01 got problem no matter where you open it. Report saved in MS02 got no problem no matter where you open it. It is very weird and I don't know what setting in SCOM 2012 would affect this behavior. In a big head right now...

  • Edit report in original folder but save only to favorites

    Hello!!
    I want the following rights:
    Right to edit query
Save As to favorites folder and no where else
User should also not be able save back to the original folder but can edit and save to favorites
I want to allow edit of the query and only saving to the favorites and no where else..
    Can anyone, please help!
    Thank's!!

A great first chapter Charlie. Can't wait for the rest of the book.
The only time I've had anything like this happen, was in a new build after hooking the drives from the old system, but the permissions really were screwed up, and it was a straight forward fix. Is the machine networked perhaps? The files open in another app? I expect you answered this already somewhere in your forum equivalent of War & Peace. ;-) The lads on the Premiere Pro hardware forum can be disparaging about Dell and HP machines, saying their proprietary hardware and software are inaccessible, so I wonder if it is something along those lines.
I’d definitely unhook the second drive as a starting point, or at least double/treble check its permissions.
The only other thing I can think of is changing the state of ‘Save as to original folder’ in Preferences > file handling, but this is all very tenuous and straw clutching.
