Saving image as JPG

Hi all, after editing my photo in Photoshop I save as JPG but later when I open it, it automatically opens Photoshop everytime which I don't want to do.  What am I doing wrong?
Thanks so much for your advice.
Louise

OK.  Click on the link I provided, and read the page that it takes you too.
It will give you guidelines as to what basic information you need to provide whenever you post.  That will help you a great deal in the future.
You can achieve what you want by following the instructions I gave you earlier:
Locate the icon of one of the JPEGs you have edited in Photoshop.  Highlight that icon by clicking on it only once.  Then press the Command and I keys at the same time (Command+I, that's called doing a Get Info).  A dialog box will appear.  You'll need to set Apple's Preview as your preferred application there, then click on a button that says "Change All".  That wil close the dialog box, and henceforth all your JPEGs will open in (the abominable) Apple Preview application.
The funny part is that many of us try to avoid it like the plague.  But if that's what suits you…

  • Problem in saving image to jpg

    Hello.
    I've got a problem in saving a LabView Picture in a jpg File.
    The picture id grabbed from a DirectX Livestream from a camera.
    Then I want to save it in a jpg file using the Standard LabView Functions.
    But all I get is an empty jpg File and an error:
    Check_Data_size.vi
    Error 1
    I'm using LabView 7.1.
    Has anybody got an idea how to solve the problem?

    No.  You can save a gray image to jpg, but I has to be 24 bit.
    Try save your data to bmp.  If you got the same problem, that means you fail to wire correct data format to the LabVIEW VI you're using.

  • Saving images as JPG from Bridge

    I am shooting images in colour sRGB and RAW which come in as .CR2 files.  I work with them in Adobe Bridge (CS5) and then save them as JPGs from bridge.  The final JPG images are colour mode is RGB and the colour Profile Adobe RGB (1998).  This is causing me problems when I print at the images come out flat.  I have been advised that I need the images to be sRGB for print.  How do I achieve this with Bridge?  It has been suggested that I use the Canon software Digital Photo Professional!!  Do I have to?
    HELP please.

    The final JPG images are colour mode is RGB and the colour Profile Adobe
    RGB (1998).  This is causing me problems when I print at the images
    come out flat.
    That sounds more like a color management printing issue.
    So you browse the RAW files from Bridge and use Adobe Camera Raw to process and open the file? Yes, there is a setting in ACR to open the image as sRGB. (But, you will probably get better results by learning how to properly print an Adobe RGB file.)

  • Why do the file extensions (.jpg .gif .png) no longer appear when I click on a previously saved image to use that image's file name (particularly important when saving a series of images using the same root name)?

    I save a lot of images using firefox, often times from a large batch or series of images. It used to be that I would click on a previously saved image and the entire file name including the file extension (i.e. image_example.jpg) would appear in the "save as" line. Now when I click on a previously saved file, the file name appears without the file extension (i.e. image_example). Which means I have to manually type .jpg every time. For a large collection of images that I am hoping to use the same root file name and then add chronological numbers at the end, this has become incredibly frustrating, especially as it is a previously unnecessary task.
    I am using a new Macbook Pro and maybe there's something Apple related to this...? It did not happen on my old PowerBook G4. I have file extensions turned on in System Preferences.
    It should be noted that I have searched high and low and have even gone into the Apple Genius Bar where they were just confused as I was and of course ended by urging me to use Safari (shocker!) as it has all kinds of new extensions and bells and whistles. I seriously feel alone on an island with this dumb, hard to google problem. Thanks so much for any help anyone out there might have.
    I mean: is this as simple as changing a setting in about:config?
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your response Mylenium, however like I mentioned multiple times, I did change all of my trackpad/scrolling settings in system preferences.  And if I wanted to use a normal mouse (or a tablet), I would've gotten an iMac instead of a MacBook Pro.  I travel often and work all over the place, not always with access to a decently sized workspace that would be required for using a mouse or tablet.

  • "error while saving image"

    has anyone had the problem where, when they select option and tap an image (in my case i pulled one from my email using an image i uploaded from my drive) and gotten an error that says "there was an error saving image" and your only option is 'ok'? i've read other forums and understand that jpeg's are the ideal form, and this had a .jpg extension.
    any thougths anyone?
    so many thanks in advance.

  • Issue with saving Tiff as JPG

    I am an artist who is using Photoshop Elements 4. Recently, my photogrpaher took photos of my work in TIFF format and sent me a CD of the shoot. I opened one in photoshop, edited it and tried to save it as jpg. I kept getting a window which read: Could not complete your request because of a program error.
    My photographer and I are confused because this has never happened. I opened up a CD of his photos from a previous shoot to check and see if they could be saved as a jpg and had no problem. He uses a Nikon D700 and has not changed anything else.
    This is frustrating because I use these images for my business, etc. Granted, elements 4 is an older program but why now?
    I'd appreciate any help!   Thanks!

    There is an asterisk after the 8. Like:  RGB/8*
    Since your post my photographer figure out a quick fix for this crazy
    dilema. He had me open one of the TIFFS and save it as a PSD. Then, I copied
    it and pasted into a new blank file. I then was able to save it as a JPEG.
    He and I are still stumped over this but I'll be needed new photos soon and
    we'll see if this happens again. Thanks for your help.

  • Saving files as .jpg, not .eps?

    I've moved up from CS5 to 6. Always before able to save images as .jpg. Now on 6, files are saved as .eps?
    Why is that and how can I save as .jpg instead?

    Hi Tallarchitect,
    The way you save files in Photoshop has changed very little over the last few years. You are able to choose a variety of file formats, .eps and .jpeg being two of them.
    You can change the file format you want to save by selecting "JPEG" from the Format menu after opening the Save As… dialog.

  • I have problems with uploading images to my printing company have the images have been manipulated through CS6 i have saved images as jpeg but the printer company tell me they are not j peg, they will not upload images save from a camera are fine

    I have problems with uploading images to my internet printing company when  the images have been manipulated through CS6 and  i have saved images as jpeg  the printer company tell me they are not j peg,
    but images saved from my phone or camera images that have not been manipulated upload fine, What am i doing wrong?

    Save/Export them as JPG. Photoshop defaults to PSD, so make sure you select JPG and not just rename the file to .jpg.
    There are two ways to save them as JPG: Regular Save as option or Save for Web & Devices
    Take your pick.

    Hi,
     Here is a small example that does the same thing as your code i believe and will overwrite the opened image with the watermarked image.  Perhaps you can arrange your code to follow these steps.
    Imports System.Drawing.Imaging
    Imports System.IO
    Public Class Form1
    Private Img As Bitmap
    Private wmFont As New Font("Verdana", 32, FontStyle.Bold, GraphicsUnit.Pixel)
    Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
    Using ofd As New OpenFileDialog
    ofd.Filter = "Image Files|*.jpg;*.png;*.gif;*.bmp;|All Files (*.*)|*.*"
    If ofd.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then
    Dim frmt As ImageFormat
    If Img IsNot Nothing Then Img.Dispose()
    Using i As New Bitmap(ofd.FileName)
    frmt = i.RawFormat
    Using g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(i)
    Using sb As New SolidBrush(Color.FromArgb(100, 0, 0, 0))
    g.DrawString(TextBox2.Text, wmFont, sb, New Point(10, 30))
    End Using
    End Using
    Img = New Bitmap(i)
    End Using
    Img.Save(ofd.FileName, frmt)
    If PictureBox1.Image IsNot Nothing Then PictureBox1.Image.Dispose()
    PictureBox1.Image = Img
    End If
    End Using
    End Sub
    End Class
    If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it

  • Saving images from LR Mobile with edits.

    I'm having a bit of trouble saving images on my ipad with the current edits.
    To me it seems I have to manually sync the edited image first, otherwise Lr just saves a JPG of the original image to my photostream rather than a copy with adjustments on it.
    Am I missing something or is this the way it works?
    Thanks for any insight.

    Correct. As long your image is in Develop mode (same with presets and crop) and you would like to share from there you need to maually force sync your changes first. This is already logged as in internal bug. Thanks, Guido

  • Saving Images to disk

    I'm going to be making some graph Images, and I'm curious about saving them to disk. I've considered using Quicktime for Java, because quicktime supports so many image types and I need this versatility. The main problem is that, either way, I don't know how to save an Image to a file.
    Any pointers would be much appreciated: websites, sample code using QTJava for saving images, etc.

    Hi Xander
    I think u want to convert the image ( which u draw as graph)into gif or jpge formate for this purpose u can use ACME
    Gif/jpge encoder it is free ware (and it is writen in pure java)for converting image into gif/jpg formate and u can save it into ur hard disk
    U can down the encode from www.acme.com
    and use for encoding the image
    just down lodad the packae and put that package in the current directory and import the package as
    import Acme.JPM.Encoders.*;
    in ur class where u encode the image
    and for encoding the image here is the sample code
    FileOutputStream out= null;
    try{
    File fc=new File("gif/" + "testgif"+".gif");
    fc.createNewFile();
    out = new FileOutputStream(fc);
    }catch(IOException e){System.out.println("Gif Directory not Found");}
    try{
    GifEncoder encoder = new GifEncoder(image,out,true);
    encoder.encode();
    } catch(IOException e){System.out.println("File can't be created");}
    I think this will help u

  • Newly saved images not showing in Library

    When using LR 2, I export to PS CS3 to make some final corrections. I save these final images as both a PSD and JPG. When first using LR 2, the newly saved images were showing in the Library>Folders section immediately (without having to synchronize). I was making some preference changes recently I must have changed something that I didn't intend, because now the only way I can get the saved images to display is to synchronize. Anyone know what I need to change back to get my images to immediately show in the Folders (which also allows them to show in the grid and film strip) again?

    This is discussed in excruciating detail in this thread:

  • Saved Image Quality

    Hello all,
    I was just wondering if other people have noticed a drop in quality for saved images. Anything I save from Safari or Mail looks terrible once it gets to Photos - blurry and pixelated.
    Not sure if there's a fix or not yet.

    Update: Oct.5th
    For those of you still in the dark about this issue, I discovered it's not a hardware issue as much as an OS one.
    I noticed a problem with saving JPG images from either an e-mail attachment or via Safari from my iPod Touch 2nd Gen. The image in the Saved Images folder will render as a pixelated image when you preview it. BUT, when you download the image to your desktop, it appears in its original full size and also sharp in quality. (My example was approximately 1024 x 768 w/ a 300kb size).
    I took mine into an Apple store and the Genius Bar tech assistant and I were able to determine that it's because the Touch cannot preview/optimize a downloaded hi-res image with anything that exceeds the 320 x 240 resolution of the iPod. You can test this by saving an image from the web that is around that scale. When you preview it, you should see the image load up very crisp.
    He said it's a relatively new problem and that he was hopeful the next firmware update would fix the issue. He was stumped though as to how come the iPhone was able to save images from the web and preview in crisp detail. This apparently is unique to the new iPod Touches.
    Either way, since mine was still under warranty I asked for an exchange and he gladly did the transaction.
    When I got home and opened up my new one (which had 2.1.1 firmware already installed) I tried saving a hi-res image and unfortunately, encountered the same issue. So it's definitely an OS issue.
    Hope this helps clear up any worries or confusion.
