Saving iMovies in Media Player or QuickTime so that other people can view

Hi all -
I have no problem creating iMovies... but I'm the only one that can view them. How do I save them as WMPlayer or Quick Time movies so they can be viewed by other people??

When you use the default Share Options (Share to iTUnes, Share to Media Gallery, etc. these are quicktime files and anyone can view them (but they will need to install the free Quicktime Player.
You can also Share/Export Using Quicktime if you need specialized settings or more control over options.

  • Adding a Quicktime Media Player to a page that can play from a list of links

    I'm on a Mac G4 window front tower running OS X 10.4.11. I am using Adobe GoLive 7.2. and Quicktime player 7.6. The project I am involved in entails linking a group of Quicktime movies to a Quicktime media player on the same page. I can handle the linking, but HOW DO I GET THE QT MEDIA PLAYER ON THE PAGE?
    Please help.

    Yes, it is doable. This page has some pics that will help.

    The second drive will sit on top of the first one.
    The jumpers have to be set on both drives for "cable select". Each drive has a diagram to show how the jumpers are arranged.
    You need four screws to hold it in place.
    The ribbon cable has two connectors, one for each.
    The four pin power cable has to be connected to each drive.
    When you boot, the Mac will mount both drives. You can erase the new one and proceed from there.

  • How to move albums that were saved using windows media player

    I have a number of albums that are saved on my computer using windows media player. These were saved before I got itunes. I tried moving some of the albums into itunes but they don't show in tunes. Is there a way to do this rather than read all of the cd's into itunes.
    Thank you

    Sure thing.
    In iTunes, go to File -> Add Folder to Library or Add File to Library. Select the folder which contains your music, or select individual tracks.
    If in your iTunes settings you have iTunes copy music to it's folder and manage it for you, will then make a copy of the music, and put it into the iTunes location for music. It will even convert WMA files for you, into whatever file format you have under Import Settings in your iTunes preferences.
    If in your preferences, itunes does NOT make a copy of your media, then it will simply reference the location it is in currently. If this is the case, then do not move the location of the songs from WMP. However, by default iTunes does make a copy into it's own directory, and if this is the case, you can actually delete the older files, as now you have a copy of these files in your iTunes directory.
    Does this make sense?

  • What media player for Mac has Speed Control and can open WMA?

    Hello,
    I recently changed from PC to Mac and I am working on my thesis transcribing interviews that come in a .wma format. So I need a media player for Mac that has both Speed Controlers (so I can slow down the audio to transcribe them) and can open .wma audio files. Please! I really hope there is a way out of this, thank you very much!

  • I am looking for Microsoft Media Player plugin for Firefox for Mobile, where can I find it for download and installation on my Samsung S2 Mobile phone running Android (2.3.3)

    I am not able to watch web videos on my mobile phone firefox browser (version 6.0) and running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

    There is no such plugin for any Android browser. I doubt Microsoft will ever make one. The best chance you have is if the site provides a direct link to the file and you download it. You then might be able to play the file with one of the media players on the phone.

  • How can I fix the video player on my professional website so people can see my work?

    the plug in will not work. Windows 11. Tried many times.

    You specify to use the Windows Media Player (type="application/x-mplayer2"), but you haven't installed the WMP plugin or this plugin is disabled or not found.
    You can install the new WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll)
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Using+the+Windows+Media+Player+plugin+with+Firefox
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player#Missing_plugin
    * http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download
    There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.
    You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).
    You can alternatively move plugins from "<install directory>\plugins\" to "<install directory>\browser\plugins\" (create this folder when missing) to make Firefox find them again.

  • Media Playback With Windows Media Player and Quicktime

    I just bought a mac book. Is there any way to have quicktime not the default player or to have it bring out the video from the safari window. because there are some sites that i go to and it just starts playing quicktime inside the browser video but i want it big in its own window. and is there anyway to just have the video play without the download box come up and just have the video play in whatever player without manually going to the hard drive and choosing which program to open the video with? thank you for any help
    MacBook 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Microsoft AVI with codec set to None.
    Or you can install the free Lagarith or UT codecs.  Both work very nice with PP.  Both use lossless compression, so you won't lose any quality, but will get smaller files (especially when using a YUV mode).

  • Alternative Video Player to Quicktime X That Renders x264 Fast

    Hi all,
    I am looking for alternative video players for mac os x (snow leopard) that can render x264 fast. I have 4 gb. ddr3 ram and 512 mb. dedicated gforce ram, however I still cannot get enough performance while watching blu-ray films that are generally high definition (720p) and are encoded with x264.
    So, I wonder what player do you use, and are you happy with it? I am open to all suggestions, and here are some observations I have had up to now.
    - quicktime x player: first loads the whole movie which takes a really looooong time, than plays nice. Due to initial loading time, I skipped it.
    - VLC: has problems with framedropping (I don't know why and how I can handle it)
    - mplayer osx extended: Great especially if you increase its cache to maximum. However has a fair initial loading time when you do that and eats lots and lots of ram. I currently use this one.
    - movist: was good at the beginning however I think it has problem with rendering internal subtitles.
    Thanks in advance,

    Try VLC
    <http://www.videolan.org>
    It has playback setting to improve playback speed.

  • After updating mozilla, I've had problems loading around 30% of websites that other programs can load just fine. Also, what happened to saving your opened tabs to be loaded when you next time start mozilla?

    Some of the websites download partly, but their lay out is wrong and some parts don't get loaded at all. This is sometimes fixed by hitting f5, but not always.

  • WVC80N - AVI recorded files cannot be viewed in Quicktime or Windows Media Player

    I have tried on two seperate PCs and the AVI files will not load. I have inspected the AVI files to be ISO MPEG-4 Video V1 standard and therefore should be able to be played by Windows Media Player and Quicktime but they both complain they cannot be played. Anyone else ran into this? I should have the specific codecs by default. The error message from quicktime is that there is required software needed to play this file and I get redirected to a generic page of possible plug ins. Windows Media player gives me a generic error with a link to some random troubleshooting steps that dont apply.
    As a side note Nero Showtime can open the file and play it...

    To Download VLC Software, Go to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and download and Install the VLC Media Player on your computer. Once the Installation is completed then you will be able to play the Video Files using VLC Player.

  • QuickTime .mov plays upside-down in Windows Media Player

    I know the cause of this: If you record using an iPhone with the volume buttons pointed at the ceiling, the resulting video plays upside-down in Windows Media Player. QuickTime is smart enough to correct and rotate automatically. Not so WMP. I have several clips that were recorded with the volume buttons pointed up. If I use QuickTime Player to rotate the clips, then they are correct when viewed in WMP, but upside-down in QuickTime Player!
    Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?

    Your assumptions are only partially correct. When you record the clip on your iPhone, the clip is recorded just as you see it in the WMP—i.e., upside down. What the iPhone does is records an addition file value that tells Apple media players which edge to display as the "top" during playback. Since third-party media players ignore this value, they display the clip in its original orientation which, in your case is upside down. When you flip the video orientation using QT 7 Pro, you're telling QT media players to play the file with an "upside down" orientation. By exporting the "flipped" orientation, you are, in fact, re-encoding the original "upside down" to a "right-side up" display but simultaneously telling all Apple media players to play the file upside down.
    Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?
    Actually, you can do either. That is, you can either "fix" the original recordings or re-record the the clips in a manner that avoids this problem. To "fix" your original files, simple open the files in an Apple media player (like QT 7 Pro) and export the files. The player will note the current "top" orientation and re-encode the content using the current display orientation for both QT and third-party players.
