Saving in Crystal 8.5 format

I am using Crystal Reports XI, but have a 3rd party application that requires Crystal 8.5 file formats. Is there any way that I can export or save modifications in the older format?

No way to do that.
Change your approach to either modifying the report in Cr 8.5 or upgrade the 3rd-party application to Crystal 9 runtime components or later.

    Hi ,
Crystal Reports is a powerful, dynamic, actionable reporting solution that helps you design, explore, visualize, and deliver reports via the web or embedded in enterprise applications. It enables end users to consume reports with stunning visualizations, conduct on-report business modeling, and execute decisions instantly from the report itself—reducing dependency on IT and developers.
The report can then be previewed on the screen, printed onto paper or exported to one of several different file formats such as PDF, Excel, text or CSV.
It is also possible to run a Crystal Report without using the full Crystal Reports designer software. These alternate methods for running reports include locally installed viewers, schedulers, and report distribution tools. These are typically third-party software programs (independent of Business Objects) that allow you to open, refresh, preview, print and export an RPT file. In 2007 Business Objects released their own viewer, Crystal Reports Viewer XI, but unlike the independent viewers it does not allow the user to refresh the report, but only to view static data saved in the RPT file.
    Thnx,

Would like to know how to provide/grant an access to User to save his/her BO reports in Excel format. Save as option is not being highlited for the user for saving the data into EXcel format.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Just check the preferences in the WEBI,
Just goto the option under preferences and check whether Prioritize easy data processing in Excel is enabled.
Select a priority for saving to MS Excel:

It's the level of compression. Lower number, more aggressive compression, more visual artifacts.
Aside from that you should never use jpeg as a working format. The compression is destructive and cumulative, and the file deteriorates every time you resave it.
Use TIFF or PSD, and if you need jpeg save out a copy as a single final step.

Only if the Windows computer has software such as MacDrive installed or the drive is hooked up to a Mac or AirPort Extreme and shared over a network.

My iphone 4S previously saved photos in the jpg format.  Suddenly it changed to the bmp format.  How do I change it back to jpg?

Photos captured by the iPhone are saved in jpeg format. A screen capture is saved in png format.
There is no setting to change either one to be captured/saved in a different format.

  • Saving a Crystal Report in version 11 format

We are looking at upgrading to Crystal Reports 12.  Is there a way to create a new report in that version and save it in version 11 format?  Our ERP system only supports version 11 but the cost to upgrade to version 12 is considerbly less expensive.

    Hello,
You can not "save down" to CR XI (v11.0) from CR 2008 (v12.0).

  • Photoshop CS 5.1 (v12.1 x64) Trial not saving to JPEG or common formats

I downloaded and installed the PS CS 5.1 trial edition today. All I needed to do was slightly edit a photo and save it as a JPEG so I could use it in a Word document. I successfully opened the JPEG photo I needed to edit and made the changes I wanted to, but I am unable to save the file as a JPEG. I can save to the following formats: PSD, Large Document Format, Portable Bitmap, OpenEXR, TIFF, and Radiance. The "Save for web and other devices" option on the main menu is grayed out and inaccessible. I've updated both Photoshop and my OS with no effect. Supposedly the trial is supposed to be fully functional (one would assume that includes saving to common image formats), but that is not the case here.
Does anyone have advice or a course of action I can take to resolve this?
    Thanks!

  • Can we save our canvas as a .psd(photoshop) file? as we are saving with .jpg or .png format with the

I have 2-3 image in my canvas and i want to save it in .psd format means each image will act as a different layer when we will open the saved file in                  photoshop.
                    Thanks & Regards,

no dear there is not any option as u suggested.
rightnow i am using my canvas and making the bytearray of it and then I am saving this bytearray  with .jpg/.png format with the JPEG/PNG Encoders. but what it does? It makes a single .jpg file of canvas so if there are 3 images in it than it will save entier canvas as .jpg.
I want to save each image as different layer and finally the canvas should be save in .psd format show i can open that .psd file in photoshop..
    thanks for the replies

  • Crystal XI report formatting question

I have a report specification where is data arranged in twelve months - Two rows of six months... Looks like two excel spreadsheets printed on the same landscape legal sized piece of paper.  There are three levels of drill down.  The twelve section headings and structure line remain on the report, but the monthly data populates only when there is data for that month, otherwise the data elements are supressed.
The problem is using the two rows of six months....I have the first level detail displaying correctly by having the first six months of data in the main report and a subreport in the report footer.  I need the drill down to work on both the report and subreport for all three drilldown levels.  My understanding is that the drill down for the subreport will only go one level?
I there some way to have the report twelve months wide and have a horizontal page break or wrap (at six months) to create the second six months below?
Any other formatting ideas for this one?
    I am using Crystal XI
    Thanks

Have you considered a cross-tab sized to only show the first six months on one page?  Or manually storing values to display into one or more arrays and hard coding the desired format?
    Fuskie
Who is also thinking you could group by a formula that divides your records into one of two six month periods...

Ensure same version of crystal report is installed in the target machine, if needed uninstall, test , and install again to detect the issue and update this thread.

  • Created document on Mac Air Pages, saved it to USB drive formatted to ExPat but on Windows 8.1 desktop, this file came up as a JPEG image.  Any ideas please?

I created a document on new Mac Air 11.6 Pages and saved it to a USB flash drive, formatted with ExFat.  However, on Windows 8.1 desktop, this shows and opens as a JPEG file rather than in MS Word.  When I try to open it with Word, it cannot be edited.  Any ideas please?

Of course Windows (Office) can't open a pages document.... you have to save as word or export to word.
I took it for granted you knew this (that's my fault). Each word processor has it's own language (programing). Saving the pages file to a disk and putting it in a windows machine then opening it is like someone mailing you a newspaper  or magazine in a foreign language you do not read and wondering why you only looked at the pictures.
Not only are you new to Apple it's now apparent you are unknowledgeable about using and understanding technology.
This is basic stuff... Some classes or books on how to transfer/exchange files from one application and operating system to another will help you... or ... just stick with one operating system and applications.

  • Can the Shuffle be loaded with files saved in Apple's lossless format?

    Hi,
If I rip a CD and save it in iTunes in Apple's lossless format, can it be saved to the Shuffle in that format or does it need to be converted to something else?
    Thank you

The iPod shuffle cannot play Apple Lossless files directly; see this article for more information.
