HI all,
I have Java3D app runs on applet. i would like to
save 3D info into CAD comptaible file. Is there any
direct methods supported by 3D API to do this -- GJNo, unfortunately. But this is because there are almost no standards in the 3D world. That said, if you can write out (or find an exportor) the Java3D scene graph to some common interchange format, you can use a convertor to get it into CAD format.

I was in the middle of the iOS 8 update and tried to turn my phone off (yes, I realize this was dumb) But what happened was it tried to reset. Now, my iphone 4s has the connect to itunes screen. Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.

Does anyone know what is wrong with the workstation? I have rebooted, changed the hard drive and even loaded a new OS on the box, and still it reboots and stops at the ok prompt.

Have you tried set-defaults at the ok prompt? I seem to remember getting an error like this before and had to run a command at OBP.

• Dreamweaver 8 keeps deleting my saved FTPt info

Has anyone ever had a problem with this?
I have all of my sites saved in the manage sites section of
my Dreamweaver 8. For some reason when I go to select a new site
every so often all of the ftp info that I have saved in here will
be gone for no reason at all. This has happened more than once to
me and is very frustrating. If anyone has ever had this happen to
them please help me come up with a reason for it. Thank you

Yes, as you would find by searching the forum.
Remove your IE7 beta, or install the DW update to 8.0.2.

• Problems Saving Document Info

Lately my Illustrator CS3 is not saving all of the images linked in the document info. Can anyone help?

Maybe you had the Caps Lock key held down. This embeds images when they're dragged into your file from the Finder or Bridge. Of course if you use the Place command you can control this with the check buttons, but these days most people just drag unless they're replacing a file.

• Bookmarks, saved address info. vanished

Cut on my Mac today, hit Safari; all book marks gone even from bar. Address book, Gmail , Yahoo, all bookmark info. that usually is in the folder when you first install Safari; gone. All saved business contacts and links as well. Replacing the Safari preferences from my back up folder does not correct this issue. What gives. More importantly, how do I get my info. back.

Hi Boe
. I was able to determine that I have previous versions of OSX on my startup disc. Somehow one other than the latest was chosen at startup.
Do you have separate partitions on the HD? OS X on a separate partition ought not to affect User files on another partition. Could you explain more about your computer setup?

After updating some non-related apps last night with no issue, when I went to check the Stocks app this morning - I found it is back to it's default screen. Can I get my saved info back?

1. Settings > iTunes & App Stores > sign in with your iTunes account info.
2. App Store > Updates > Purchased (top) > Select what you want to download

• Cookies are not saved (login info, cookie acceptance, bank cookies etc)

Cookies are not being saved. examples: if I log into the telegraph site the login does not persist, if I accept the cookies from The Register I get asked again, If I set my location on the BBC news site it resets, the same with my bank website.
I have tried:
disabling all add-ons
resetting firefox
uninstalling and reinstalling firefox (no add-ons at all)
deleting my user config files
deleting anything to do with firefox and reinstalling
unsyncing firefox
I'm tearing my hair out now lol. It's making it impossible to use firefox (especialy with banks that set a cookie to recognise the pc etc)
Any ideas what could be wrong or what else to try to locate the problem?

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

• Firefox isnt saving my info for registered sites like my bank so i have to keep answering the security questions

everytime I enter my banking site I have to answer the security questions to register my computer. it used to save the info so I didnt have to do that each time I log in but now it doesnt and its really annoying to keep doing each time

In Tools, Options, [[Options window - Privacy panel|Privacy panel]], ensure that 'Firefox will: Remember history" is selected.
In Tools, Options, [[Options window - Security panel|Security panel]], tick 'Remember passwords for sites'.
Then you can [[Basic Troubleshooting#Clear cookies and cache|clear cookies and cache]], check for the issue, and reply whether it works.

• Saving File Info

• Problems saving server info

This is probably such an obvious answer because for me it is hard to see. I am running an RMI client/server package and everything works great. The problem is that i need to be able to save the data on the server end to a file, so that if the server goes down, i can retrieve the data. The code that I have below saves great on initiation, and will load the data back up when restarted, but it will not save again once it loads from a file. The saveBackend method in the RMIServer class never gets called once a saved file is reloaded. Please help on this. I am pasting the RMIServer class and the AttornFace class which holds all of the methods that are called. Thanks in advance!!

Hi,
I'm gonna guess there's a problem here:
public synchronized void saveBackend(File file){
System.out.println("in the RMI save file method");
try{
FileOutputStream foStream = new FileOutputStream(file);
ObjectOutputStream ooStream = new ObjectOutputStream (foStream);
ooStream.writeObject((AttornFace)rmis);
foStream.close();
System.out.println("saved");
}catch(Exception e){
// THE PROBLEM IS RIGHT HERE !
}This is a good example of how never to program. If ANY error occurs in your try block, you'll never know about it.

• I have lost saved logins and passwords and some saved cookie info after each Firefox update

I have lost various saved logins passwords and saved information in websites after Firefox updates

You may loose a few things, but you are doing great.
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your

If you've previously 'not' saved the login user id and password for a site, but would now like to, how do you get the "Save" option back again?

Assuming you're using Safari for web browsing, open Safari then select Safari / Preferences / Autofill. Check the box "User Names and Passwords".
