Saving Keynote docs in iCloud

Hello!
I recently downloaded Keynote, and I am trying to save a Keynote presentation in my iCloud, but iCloud is not coming up as an option under "Where" (to save).  How can I fix this? (note - this is my first time saving anything to iCloud, so perhaps I don't have it set up properly?  I do have "Documents and Data" checked in System Preferences -> iCloud.)
Thanks!

Try this repair, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1  delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, use Appcleaner from Mac Update to           do this, its freeware
2  restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3  immediately after the start chime,  press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up,  it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4  when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive  then First Aid tab and           click  repair disc permissions
5  when complete, restart the Mac normally
6  install Keynote from the Mac App Store
Please report back to let us know if this helped.

  • Do I have to move keynote docs to icloud to sync them?

    Hi everybody (anybody?),
That question may sound odd because obviously you have to have the file in iCloud.  But what I mean is....  in Mountain Lion, where it now gives you the option in the header bar to change the file name,  you can also right click to "Move to iCloud..."   However, it takes the file off the hard drive and sends it to icloud, but I want the file on my harddrive too.   So I guess I still have to go to icloud.com and upload the file manually?  It seems that an option to "Upload a copy to icloud" would be easy enough to do from the header bar,  but I don't see it there.  Am I missing something or is Apple being dorky this little process?  All I really want to do is view the keynotes on my iPhone, so it's a pretty simple matter (i.e. I am not even editing the file from the iphone).
    Thanks!
P.S. I have the latest (mountain lion and ios6)

I too am a MobileMe (.mac was my first) suscriber who is wary of the change to iCloud. Presently I can access MobileMe with my G3, G4, and Intel laptops easily and reliably. From the number of complaints on these forums it will be a while before I consider joining the new  iCloud.
You probably will not be able to install or activate iCloud on any Mac that does not have the minimum RAM or Mac OS X version. Supposedly there is a 10.6.9 update in the works for those of us who have early Intel machines with core duo processors so as to be able to use iCloud. There is an OS X 10.6.8 compatible version of Safari 5.1.1 that was just released so there is something going on. Sadly the G3 and G4 machines will not have support.
I figure that by OS X 10.7.3 things will be clearer as to stability and compatibility. Till then we can soldier on with MobileMe till next June if necessary.

  • PowerPoint can't open saved Keynote docs

Recently, any Keynote I make and save as a PowerPoint is corrupt. Keynote can open it fine, but PowerPoint can't. Is there a way to fix this?

Everyone is having this problem right now. Seems like there may be more to it than just the grouping issue that laurent commented about. I also read that you need to convert all graphics to RGB instead of CYMK.
I for one, don't understand why it is taking so long for them to get this figured out - they should just convert the images and groups to support PPT - I know MS cares less and will never support us Apple users. Maybe Apple could give us a break on this one...

  • I accidentally deleted documents from Pages on my iphone - and now they won't show up on my mac anymore either.  I must have saved them just on icloud and not on my mac, too.  is there anyway to recover these documents?

On a mac, when you save docs to icloud, a local copy is also saved.  It's saved at:
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolder where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
If the file(s) are no longer there, then use your Time Machine backups to get copies back to the mac.

  • I have my Mac with Mountain Lion and my IPad synched and have Pages on both. I have doc in Word on my Mac I want to access on my IPad while I am away travelling. But I can't locate them. Where should I look to find my previously saved Word docs?

It looks like you haven't got them on iCloud. On your Mac, open Pages and drag the Word documents to the iCloud window

  • Keynote files in iCloud do not appear when opening Keynote on iPad

I have just run into a problem in which one file created in Keynote, 5MB, stored in iCloud, doesn't appear when I open Keynote on my iPad.  This is the only file that I am having difficulty with.  I have tried removing and resaving it to iCloud to know avail.  I have saved other files to iCloud which do open in Keypad.
Anyone have a solution for me?

If you have doubts about your mailstore's integrity, making a backup of it is a wise precaution. You can do this by copying your profile.

If the folder or message content goes awry, rebuilding the index is often productive. Select the affected folder, right-click, select '''Properties '''then '''Repair Folder'''.

  • Cannot open docs in iCloud after update version 3.2

    Hello folks,
today in the morning I take the suggested update for the iWork Suite on my MacBook Pro and my iPad mini. I use all the applications on both, so Numbers, Pages, Keynote. After the update my Mac programs show to me an error trying to open docs in iCloud. It says "doc xyz cannot be opened". If I move them to my local disk, everything is all right then. This is the same with Numbers, Pages and Keynote. If I move them back to iCloud, the problem appears once again. I didn't changed anything in settings on Mac and on my iPad mini, but the problem occurs just on my Mac. I have the latest updates of OS on both.
Thank you for every suggestion! Perhaps there are more like me out there?!

  • Can I use Safari to edit Numbers doc on iCloud?

Before getting Numbers, I need to know more about how it works with iCloud. I see that iCloud has a section called "iWork" with a tab for Numbers. I assume that if I have created a Numbers document and saved it in iCloud, I will see it on the page shown by clicking on that Numbers tab. I also know that I will be able to edit the document from an iMac, iPhone, and iPad. My question is, essentially, HOW can I edit a Numbers doc in iCloud? More specifically, can I open the Numbers doc and edit it directly in Safari while navigating iCloud, like a note in Notes, or must I always use the Numbers program/app to edit a Numbers doc saved on iCloud?
Of course, I will need to buy Numbers to create a Numbers document in the first place, but can I then edit it in Safari by opening the doc in Safari on the iCloud web site?
If I must always use the Numbers program/app to edit a document, then what, if any, functionality does iCloud provide for Numbers docs beyond that provided by DropBox?
    Same question for Pages.

    Louie,
iCloud is, in theory, better integrated. That assumes all the latest software on all platforms, OS and Numbers.
Dropbox seems to me to be more stable than iCloud, but that's just my impression.
iCloud is just the messenger that moves the documents between machines. Safari can not be used to edit an iWork document. Connecting to iCloud with your browser a;;pws you to view and manage the files stored there, but doesn't give you content editing tools.

  • Undo a saved keynote presentation

Is there a way to go back in time (undo) a saved keyonte presention to icloud?

I have the same problem; every time I open a keynote presentation I have to re-insert .mov files, and every time I close the presentation they are gone (that is, the thumb is there but the movie is not, and despite checking "copy audio and movies into the document".
    HELP.

  • "show package content" not available for keynote docs

Anyone have a work-around for this? It still works for applications, but keynote docs either changed the way the supporting files are saved or for some other reason I can't get into the package. Is there another way to open the package besides right-clicking and using the drop down menu?
    thanks--

Thanks... so how do I get inside to view/edit/rename/change elements? That was such a handy way to find a graphic and insert a new one, change it etc. without having to re-do it in the software. Also, if I'm trying to get an image from a keynote doc will it let me "save as image" like ppt does? I haven't found a way to do this, that's why I always open the package and get the image that way.
    thanks--

  • I create a new Teksteditor document in the Cloud. Then, when I go to my Cloud account, I see only Pages, Numbers and Keynote doc.No Teksteditors.

When I make a new doc. in Texteditor, I chose to make it in the Cloud, and not on my Mac.
Later, when I go to iCloud.com and sign in, I cannot find texteditors doc. Only Pages, Numbers en Keynote docs.
Where do I go to to find my Texteditor-doc in the Cloud?

Text edit documents are only available on a Mac.

  • Possible to restore deleted pages docs from iCloud

my son deleted several icloud backup apps on his divice to make more space, it somehow was all connected and deleted my business data from pages and numbers on my compiuter and ipad
ive tried restoring but ther data hasnt come back

Yes, the deleted docs can be recovered if you have edited the iCloud file with Pages on your Mac and have synched your Mac with a Time Machine before.
I have just mistakenly deleted some iCloud Keynote docs on my iPad and they were erased on all my devices. But I managed to find out the cache location and copied the files from a Time Machine folder(please refer to the picture I upload).
The folder is hidden, so you first need the Mac to show all the hidden files and then try my method.

  • Pages document saved as doc not readable by word

    Hi all,
Lately I'm having trouble exporting my Pages documents to Microsoft Word format. I've tried the "Export" option directly available in the File menu, as well as the "Save as a copy" option in the Save dialog box. De document is correctly saved as .doc file and Pages can open, read and modify it, but I'm unable to open the exported document in Microsoft Word on my Windows PC. LibreOffice on my Linux PC does open the file, but doesn't show any of the content. Only some strange symbols are shown.
I'm running Mac OSX Mountain Lion with Pages downloaded from the App Store, so everything is up to date.
Does anyone have the same problem or know how to solve it?
    Thanks in advance!

Since it's obviously not a Pages plist issue, I think more drastic measures are called for.
The simplest would be to run the Mountain Lion 10.8.3 combo updater. In systems past, running the combo updater, even if it had been used before, can clear up some system odditites. It may work, but I think the problem is with Pages. Again, the simplest approach would be to delete Pages & reinstall it and run Software Update. I know you should get the most recent version from the Mac App Store, but this has helped others in the past.  The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. The easist way to delete iWork '09 is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

  • If I delete docs from iCloud off of iPhone 4s, will it delete it from the iCloud in general? aka will I still be able to pull up from my MAC?

If I delete specific documents and data from my phone, using my phone b/c its staying icloud storage is full & my phone is freezing up....will it actually delete the docs from icloud so that when I use my MAC, they will be gone as well?  Not sure if it is deleting from phone or iCloud for computer too.
Also, I don't want documents on my phone - when I save them from computer to iCloud, it seems to go there anyway & take up storage I need to run phone.
    argh
thanks for help, I am horrible with technology so excuse my basic questions

What I mean is still track my stolen one. I don't know if this will make sense to you but I'm thinking that if I restore the back up data on this phone..on my stolen phone it will like forget the icloud account or something and think this phone is the stolen one so when I go to track the stolen one, it will show that phone as the one I have now because I restored the back up from that phone.
