Saving layout in query executed in the web

Hello Experts,
Problem Faced:
I am facing a problem when my key user is executing the report in BEX Analyzer. As there are very huge records the query is giving an error after long period.
Soultion Proposed:
Asked him to execute the query in WEB and save the report to excel.
He is fine with that to execute in web and save the file in Excel
Now the requirement for him is:
By adding or removing columns, changing subtotals, sorts, etcetera and then once that we have decided which information do we need and how it should be presented we want to save the definition of this u201Clayoutu201D in order to choose it the next time that we run the report and to avoid to do once again all those changes on the web.
He is able to do all thses things when executed in Analyzer.
Could you please let me know if thses options are possible when executing the query in the WEB.

Sol 1: save as view for that web report.
Sol 2: use broadcasing to send him the report (broadcast from workbook).

Variable entry issue when the query is executed on the WEB

Hi,
 When I execute a 2004S query on the WEB,In the variable entry screen , even if I specify for example 'A' for a variable , the 'A' is completly ignored and it returns all the values.So there is a problem with '*'.
 If I execute the same query in the Analyser, '*' is considered while returning the results.
 Anyone having similar issue.

How to Create/Modify/Delete a query view from the web template in BI 7.0

All:
In BW 3.5, the Query Selection View web item was introduced for users to create a query view to save the navigational state of a query. This web item was also available to modify and delete an existing query view.
The Query Selection View web item does not exist in BI 7.0. I see the drop down web item can be used to display the query views associated to a query.
Can anyone share how to create,modify,save or delete a query view on the web in BI 7.0

Sanjay, we experienced the same issue. Below are a few pieces of information that may be of help: 1-The Save As button on the 0ANALYZER template saves the query to the portal. From Bex Web or Bex Analyzer, you have no access to these saved views. We created a ZANALYZER copy of the 0ANALYZER template and removed the Save As button. 2- If you right mouse click on any item in the query results grid of Bex Web, you get a small menu. Clicking on the menu item Save View will save the view to BI. You do not have the ability to delete the saved views from Bex Web. However, you can delete them from Bex Analyzer. This was not an option for us since most of our users are using Bex Web. 3- On the same menu, clicking on Bookmark, saves the navigation and also opens the Internet Explorer Favorites maintence window. The navigation is saved as an entry into the users Internet Explorer favorites where they can organize and delete their entries. However, deleting the favorite does not delete the entry for the bookmark in BI. The bookmarks are stored in table RSWR_DATA. Program RSWR_BOOKMARK_REORG can be used to manage the saved bookmarks. We are loading RSWR_DATA into a chracteristic so that we can query the information in order to help us manage it. I hope this helps you and others that appear to be struggling with the issue of saved views in Bex Web.

How do I restore iWeb from saved,from my hard drive, from the web itself?

I have my iweb work files, a "saved" version that I can recver the iweb version, an iinternallly store FTP like folder and the actual site itself online
I am unclear how they all work together? for backup and restore.
For example I wnto create links on my real site. Buu I suspect that thy cnnot be fully tested until i uzse the real online version.
Can I use the interna foder versio to replace the live web site? and how to do that.
CanI test external links from the internal folder version.
Then can I update the live site from that internal folder back up.?
The manual is notoriously silent on all tbis. and with the demise of Mobile me, may well be gone too.

Use the File ➙ Publish to a Folder menu option in iWeb 2:
If you want to backup your website the file that needs to be backed up is the Domain.sites file that resides in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. That file is the most important file of your website.

Saving a pdf doc optimized for the web

i am trying to find out if there is a way to set the subject and keyword fields before saving as a pdf.
What i am trying to achieve is that the pdf is optimized for the web, so search engines can read the pdf document for keywords etc.

Problem in clones. Saving to disk and transmiting to the web

Hello,
Well, i have a problem with clones, i'm saving audio/video to disk, and at the same time i'm seeing the video in a player for that i used the merge function available in the JMF Solutions.
My main problem is when i try to transmit to the web, it does not work using the clones, i'm using for the transmit the AVTransmit2.java in JMF Solutions. It appears that the video/audio does not transmit.
The player works, the saving also but the trasmit doesn't.
Does anyone have a clue?

I am having the same problem here ,what i have tried to do is clone the vfw datasource from the web camand use the clones as input data processors to transmit and save to a file.It doenst seem to work .

Access a query view from the web

Hello,
I have a query with a view. I would like to simply be able to link to this query view in a Web Browser window. What would the URL be?
How can I do that, is it possible?
I know I can open the default view of the query, by choosing on Bex Toolbar (Tools > Launch in WebBrowser > Query (Default View))

Just add this to your URL: &DATA_PROVIDER_ID=[Technical name of view]
The result would be: http://host:port/sap/bw/bex?DATA_PROVIDER_ID=[Technical name of view]
Nothing else is mandatory

Landscape Paper Layout - Won't Display on the Web

I am trying to display a report (paper layout only) on the web using desformat=pdf. To test if the report could be viewed via the web, I created a simple version and could view it in my browser w/ no problem; however, after adding some columns and making some formatting changes, including making the report display as landscape, the report will no longer display in my browser. Instead, the browser window just displays a blank white space w/ the little image icon in the top left corner. (The one that's the little box with the red square, black circle and blue triangle in it.)
Again, this is not a web layout, but the paper layout of the report, and is meant to open up as a pdf. It is also a must that I display this report as landscape rather than portrait.
What can I do to make this report display correctly in the user's browser?

I just tested this with a very simple report in landscape (11" x 8.5"). The report appeared correctly in the browser, and I also printed it to confirm it comes out in landscape. I used Reports 10g.
So I think there may be some other problem with your report. For testing, you can leave the report as is (formatting, data etc), but change the page dimensions to portrait, and see if that comes out properly in your browser.
You can also test this - send the landscape report to file (destype=file) instead of displaying it on the browser (destype=cache), and see if the file come out fine.
What is the Report version you are using?

Maybe you can create a report of type "SQL query (PL/SQL Function returning query". Then in the region source, something like:

Starting a Web Application out of WAD from menue "Query/Execute" ...

Dear colleagues,
starting a Web Application (let's say its the template "BTMP_001") out of the Web Application Designer from menu "Query/Execute" starts the Web Query Analyzer instead of the Template "BTMP_001".
The URL looks like: http://<xxxxx>.<yyyyyy>.<zzzzzz>.com:<Port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=BTMP_001&DUMMY=0
Does somebody have any hint? Why I allways get the Web Query Analyzer althoug the end of the URL shows the technical name of my web application?

Problem solved!

Jump Targets from the web

I have a query with a jump target which is another BW query. When the sender query is run in BEx i can go to the jump target and it excutes fine with the proper filter values being passed. When the sender query is executed from the web the jump target query comes up but no filter values are passed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My user wants to print this Web Report in the PDF file (or) import into excel file .
So how can we do it , if the report is in web browser .

Mark of the Web Question

Can someone please clarify something on the new Mark of the
Web option on WebHelp output in RH6? Even though the option is
available when generating WebHelp output, the resulting output does
not appear any different than it did with RH X5 for the same
project (and still does not work with our VB app on a local machine
when the Active X security option is turned off). Now I see the
What's New in This Release topic in the RH6 help file lists WebHelp
Pro, FlashHelp, and FlashHelp Pro as the layouts that support Mark
of the Web. No WebHelp. So does Mark of the Web work for WebHelp or
not? Do I have to change my output to WebHelp Pro to get mark of
the web? If so, what other implications are there for switching
from WebHelp to WebHelp Pro? Does this mean I have to buy RH6
Server instead of plain RH6?

Since we are speaking of the WOM feature, I am having some
diffculties with this feature too but with totally different
symptoms and ouput:
It is the Webhelp pro output that is causing me a headache:
when I add this feature and the web app calls on the help using an
online webhelp pro call (
http://server/roboAPI.asp?project=projectname
or
http://server/roboAPI.asp?project=projectname&context=ID>context)
the help page fails to load. Just a white htm page and exporer 7
seems to be lost and confused... Any ideas?
