Saving Location @ Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

If you open a document with Adobe Acrobat X Pro and sign it, than the Software wants to save the document on the same place, like you opened it. In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro the software wants to save it on an other place.
Do anybody know this issue and is it possible to solve it?
Gerhard

I followed up on this with some people who know more about saving in Acrobat and here's what I learned. When Acrobat saves a PDF it generally populates the 'Save as' dialog with the location for the saved file the same as the original file. But before it does that it checks that it can write to that location. If it cannot write to the location from where the original PDF came from, then it populates the 'Save as' dialog with the Acrobat's default location (it may be different in Acrobat and Reader and whether Reader is in Protected Mode or not). The most likely reason for your problem is that PDFs that you want to sign come from a location (like a network drive or cloud) to which Acrobat does not have full permissions.
To check that open one of your PDFs and try to "Save as" it. See if you get the same location as when you try to sign. Also, you can create a small text document in a Notepad and try to save it to the location from which your PDF came from. Se if Notepad allows you to do that.

  • Adding Background to PDF: Using a source file in Saved Settings Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro...

I frequently need to print purchase orders and use another PDF file as the background. There is an option to save a setting in the "Add Background" option, but when this is used neither the background nor the positioning is adjusted. Any help or tips to simplify my process would be greatly appreciated as it is time consuming to browse for the file and adjust the positioning multiple times everyday.
    Thanks.

  • Why is Photoshop Elements 8 not saving a psd file as a pdf now that I purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

Why is Adobe Elements 8 not saving a psd file as a pdf after I started using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro instead of my CS3 Pro? Both Adobe software is up to date and before I switched to Acrobat XI Pro, it worked fine. Help please...

You aren't talking to Adobe here. But still...Is it by any chance asking for a QUALIFYING product? If so, you purchased an UPGRADE and now need to give the serial number of the OLDER product (Acrobat 9 or X) which you must own to be able to use the upgrade. Simples.

    Barbara,
If you are looking for your  serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers, please see Find a serial number

  • Opening files automatically in VBA and saving to PDF, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

    Hello,
I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and I want to ask if there is any possibility to open automatically files in Adobe by VBA (Word files, Excel, etc.) and save them to PDF?  Or maybe it is a possibility to print them with Adobe PDF Printer?  If there is something like that can you give me a sample of code?
    Thank for your help.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Thank you for your advices.
I already download Acrobat SDK before, but it's really complicated for someone who know only VBA at intermediate level.
I really plan to learn javascripts and COM in future, but I was thinking that if I ask you for I guess easy think (opening files and saving them to pdf) you will help by giving similar code or some clues.
Anyway I found  this two methods in documentation: PDDoc.Save and PDDoc.Open and I believe that a combination of them can finally help me. Do you know how I can connect them to one part?

  • Saving a Form created in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

We create forms for the company to use with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, but because others do not have Acrobat 9 Pro they can not save the document after they have filled out the form.  This is causing a big issue for us.  Does anyone know a way that we can create a Form in Acrobat 9 Pro that allows others to fill it out using just the plain version of Adobe (guessing they only have Reader) and then they can save it to their desktop?

You need to apply the Extended Reader Rights to it from the Advanced menu in
    Acrobat.

  • Installation of Adobe Acrobat X Pro at different location

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. Now I need to use the same license copy in my new laptop. The adobe Acrobat X Pro in the old laptop shall be uninstalled. Please guide the steps to install the licensed copy with same serial number in my new laptop. Thanks.

in your old computer, open acrobat, click help>deactivate.  you can then uninstall.
in you new computer, install acrobat X pro and activate with your serial number.  if you need the installation file and if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common error is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro SIGNATURES

    My subject: Employee Onboarding
My short-term goal: To allow user to save his or her signature securely, when they access the form with Adobe Reader, so that they can access it for future use.
My long-term goal: To set up an employee onboarding access page on our agency's website to allow employees to complete forms via a secure online portal and sign their document electronically. (For now, I will have the employee use a laptop for completion of the form.)
My current setup: I have an extensive Adobe Acrobat XI Pro form set up. Users can click in the signature field and opt to create a new ID or use an existing signature.
My problem: I am unsure of where I should have employees save his or her signatures. Should they be stored securely on my server, or should they be stored in the cloud?

    Hi,
Just so we are on the same page, you are not talking about "signatures" but rather about digital IDs. You use the digital ID to create a digital signature in the electronic world just as you use a pen to create a wet ink signature in the paper world.
When it comes to storing a digital ID there are four options; you can store it in a password protected file (e.g. a PFX or P12 file), you can store it on a hardware device (e.g. a smart card or token), you can let the computer's operating system manage the digital ID (e.g. Mac Keychain Access or Windows Certificate Store), or it can reside on a roaming credential server. There are pros and cons with all three options, but as with everything in computer management you need to balance ease against both security and cost.
The cheapest and simplest is probably to let everyone save their digital ID in a password protected file. The next question is where do you save the file. You could save the file on a flash drive and let people take it with them from computer to computer. The downside to this approach is people tend to lose their flash drives. You could also store the file on a network location that everyone has access to, but here the problem is what happens if the network is down. And of course in all cases with the digital ID saved in a password protected file is people tens to forget their password.
Putting the digital ID into the operating system eliminates the forgotten password problem, but now the digital ID is only available from one computer. The concept here is if you can log in and get to your desktop then you are who you say you are and the OS gives you access to the digital ID. Your log in is in essence the password to the file.
Using a hardware device is know as two factor authentication as you have to have the device and know the PIN. This is different from just putting the PFX file on a flash drive because with a secured hardware device the the device itself has protection software on it and the private key (which is what you sign with) never can leave the device. The signature is actually created on the device and sent back to Acrobat.
Finally, using a roaming credential server is akin to cloud signing. Like with the secured hardware device, the private key never leaves the server and as long as you have Internet access you can sign from anywhere (hence the "roaming" part of the name). You also have the advantage that if someone does forget their PIN (and someone will) you can reset it on the server. If someone forgets their password to access a PFX file then the file (and ultimately the digital ID) becomes useless.
I know I didn't answer your question because there is no one right answer. You just have to decide what best fits your work-flow.

  • Error 1500 in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Install

I have Windows 8.1, and I am attempting to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from the content disc provided when I purchased Creative Suite 5 some time ago. During installation, I received the Error 1500 message. No existing forum is solving my problem. I have tried unregistering, then re-registering my Windows Installer. There are also no mid-installation processes in my registry. Also, the fact that I can only get customer support over a forum is unpleasant to me. That seems a little consumer elitist, don't you think? Anyway, I digress. If you can, please help.

    Hi athoopes,
We apologize for the inconvenience, we would try to help you with this issue.
I would like to inform you that there could also be an issue with the compatibility between Acrobat 9 pro and windows 8.1 as it was not tested on win 8.1.
Check system requirements System requirements | Acrobat family of products
Kindly check if the log files(.GZ) for acrobat is getting created on the below mentioned location.

When I open a pdf in Adobe Acrobat xi pro it is not displaying correctly. If a file is all black with orange writing, I will see only the orange writing. Its not until i print it or open crop pages dialog box that i see the background.
    i am on a Windows 7 professional PC, 64-bit.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 pro's windows installer appearing after right click on any file or application

I accidentally deleted the acrobat 9.0 manually from the program files. The acrobat doesn't work... There is also a nuisance. The windows installer for the Adobe acrobat keep on appearing when i right click a file or application. I have to cancel it. If i wait for it to load, it will say that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click Ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installer package "AcroPro.msi" in the box below. if i click ok, it will show an error- the path"..." cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installer package "AcroPro.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product Adobe Acrobat 9 pro ... It will also cause the computer to be very lag. I am seeking assistance. Please help.

This happens when I right click on ANYTHING at all, I can even just right-click on the desktop and that install window comes on!
The program itself opens fine separately. I 'll be honest, I haven't used it much as I am just learning all the programs, so if it is actually working correctly I don't know. I do know that I tried to used the "covert to pdf" button while on Internet Explorer and it would not work. Don't know if the problem is related or not...
I have that idiotic UAC off - it drove me crazy...

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - distributed form - unreadable reponses

Have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - created a distributed form for emailing - emailed it to parents and most files come back readable - have 4 file that are not readable - they will print okay but they are not readable by the "responses" files - tried to save  them a a new pdf file but new saved files also came back unreadable by responses file. The readable files are of a size 257K whereas the non-readable file sizes are much smaller - any ideas as to what is happening to these?

The files may have been filed out on a Mac using Preview not Reader. Preview is known to cause problem wrt form fields.

  • "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater"

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater is the error that jumps up when I try installing it. Currently this system is running Internet Explorer 7 which is installed at it's default location. Any clues what can have gone wrong?
    Version 7.0.5730.13
    Build 75730
Program path C:\Program\Internet Explorer (Swedish computer)
    Language Engelska (USA)

I came upon this post after receiving this error message when trying to install Acrobat 9. In my case, we deploy Acrobat from an Administrative Installation Point (AIP) using Group Policy. I believe the user at this computer pulled the plug while the group policy deployment was taking place. I got the error when trying to install the program manually afterwards.
I was able to rectify the issue by running msiexec.exe against the MSI in the AIP with the /x switch, performing an uninstall:
    msiexec /x \\server\deploy\AcrobatStandard9\acrostan.msi
(The program was not showing up in Add/Remove programs, otherwise I would have tried uninstalling from there.) After that, the install proceeded successfully.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Why is exported file coming up read-only in Adobe Acrobat 9 pro?

Hi. Would appreciate  whatever help anyone can give me. I spent the last 2-3 weeks  working on a scientific poster for my brother, who is a doctor. I did  the work in Adobe.com and came to the realization I was not going to be  able to save it outside the program, since it is a trial.
However,  I chanced across the Export command and exported it into Adobe Acrobat 9  Pro. Only problem is it is now a read-only file. I can't manipulate the  text. The poster is going to be about 3' X 3' and right now it has been  formatted for 8 1/2" X 11" pages. I think the Fed Ex folks are going to  need some editing power.
So,  does anyone know if I can change this document to be edited? Or if it can be edited? Tried  saving to a thumb drive, but that didn't work either.
(Please  help me! This Adobe site is so complicated it is driving me mad!)
    Thanks!
