Saving message when locking a window

How do we save a message that can be used whenever we lock a remote computer. eg. Computer is no longer available for use.

You can make it a Saved Task, but editing the computers that it affects is tedious. If you have a set text you would like to do, make it a Text Clipping and save it on the Desktop, then just drop it in you message box.
I know it doesn't save it when you close the app, but it would be nice. Make a suggestion to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/remotedesktop.html

Error message when launching PowerPivot Window using Excel 2010

I have installed the latest version of Powerpivot on several of our workstations. Some of them are running the application just fine and some of them are getting an intermittent error message when trying to launch the PowerPivot Window.
We are running Windows 7 ENT 32bit with Office 2010 32bit
The error message given is : An operation that uses the database driver could not be completed. If the driver is a Microsoft driver, make sure the drvier file isn't damaged, and if it is, reinstall the driver by re-installing Microsoft Query.
You can then try again and it will work.
In fact the majority of the time this error message won't appear.
The application has been removed and reinstalled.
When I checked event viewer i'm finding this error which I think is related

It's just a guess: Power Pivot uses the MSOLAP = "Microsoft OleDB Provider for OLAP" and maybe that Provider is damaged on the machine. You may try to reinstall the Provider, you can get the installer named "SQL_AS_OLEDB.msi" from

Quit Mail. Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy to the Clipboard:
/Library/Mail/Bundles
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens, then press return.
A folder may open. If it does, move the following item in that folder to the Trash:
UnsubMailPluginMailAppOSX.mailbundle
You may be prompted for your password when you do this.
Launch Mail.

Delete Saved messages when messages are already deleted.

I deleted all conversations, but yet when you go to Settings, General, and then usage I still see 2.8Gb of "saved Messages" in memory used. How? Thanks for any help.

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
METHOD ONE:
Make a backup in iTunes
open iBackupBot (Google it)
Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete. You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments! METHOD TWO:
Backup your device in iTunes and then to iCloud
Go to Settings>iCloud and toggle Documents & Data to OFF
Then do a 2nd backup to iTunes and iCloud
Then restore the device from iCloud and the message attachments should be gone, turn Documents & Data back on again in the settings
PLEASE NOTE: Method two is a much longer process but some users may feel more comfortable with this method.
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong!
P.P.S You could also just go through every single conversation and delete the attachments one by one, but if you have hundreds or thousands of attachments, this will take a VERY LONG TIME!!!

Error message when connecting to Windows

I have a newer Ipod, 4g, that Im trying to connect to Windows. I d/l the latest version of Itunes and installed but when I connect the Ipod, it says it has detected an Ipod in recovery mode and I will need to restore etc. I first did the restore and update as it said. It gave a message that it was successful but then the error message came back up. I looked online and it suggested I reset the Ipod itself, which I did but the message still comes up. Is there any fix to this or does it need to be sent in? The unit is just about new, no songs on it yet. It belongs to a friend of my daughter who asked me to put some songs on it for her.

I have the same problems. Also I sent my ipod to repair but nobody find anything. The only possibility to snyc is: Switching off pc, connect ipod with pc, starting pc and itunes and now I can sync. But after a while itunes comes up with the same error massage (recovery mode). I think some service from itunes or ipod does not start correct, but I do not know which one.
Has anybody an idea?

Error message when installing on Windows 7

I am trying to install the Desktop Software on my new work laptop but it keeps kicking out the destination file. When I go to upzip the download I get: "could not create c:\users\myname\LOCALS~1\Temp - unzip operation cancelled" from the WinZip Self-Extractor.
I have tried turning off my anti-virus as I've had issues installing software before with it on, and am wondering if I try disconnecting from my work LAN while the install loads if this will make a difference.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional SP1 32 bit OS. We don't have onsite IT and of those of us who have BB I'm the only one who is running Win 7; had no problem when it was on my old Win XP! Any help is very much appreciated!

SMAX4PNP has an error message when closing down Windows XP Professional

I Have a Tecra A4 laptop which is approximately 4 years old ( Purchased 04/2005 ). Lately whenever I close windows, I get an error message that SMAX4PNP can not close down. It requires me to click on the "end now" button, which then makes that message go away. I then get another error message, which is never the same, which also requires me to click on the " end now " button. After I click the second "end now " button, Windows closes down. I am running Windows XP Professional SP3. Has anybody encountered the same problem and if so, how did you fix this problem?

SMax4PNP is associated with your sound hardware. You might try reinstalling the sound driver for that machine.

It sounds like iTunes is not opening correctly and is quitting on launch. I would troubleshoot the iTunes launch issues with the following article to help resolve the issue:

First attempt starting iTunes in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists, and proceed accordingly.
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
If it comes down to reinstalling iTunes, there is an article provided that will uninstall iTunes AND its associated softwares for a complete wipe, and reinstall, so I would try that one more time, if needed.

Can anyone walk me through the process of downgrading back to windows 7 from windows 8 cons preview? from what i understand my personal files will be protected, is there anyway to put my programs on a recovery disc?

I would not bother to try W8 preview now becaause it will only last for few months. You should try it from late 2011.

Mail not displaying message when opened by Windows computers

I am sending out emails to clients with an attachment.Then in the mail field I write a summary as bullet points. My Microsoft clients receive the attachment but no message un the mail field.

Simular problem:
Its iMail Version 6.3 (1503) which comes with a fresh install of 10.8.3.
Any email base64 encoded is corrupted or not shown.
eg Any message from and Exchange Client that has both plain text and html in the same message where the plain text section is Base64 encoded.

The work arround it to switch to the classic view, open the message there, then switch back to the modern view and the text of the message magically appears. Its probably something to do with the way in which the new iMail processes message bodies, that the older style viewer had fixed. (You can switch between classic view and modern view under the Vieweing preferences tab)
It also seems to impact sent messages or anything thats been base64 encoded.
Hopefully its such a major bug it will be fixed soon. (lol, like some of the bugs in iMail on 10.6.8 were fixed ?)

I have been using windows on my mac for months and all of the sudden I am getting an error message when I start windows. No matter what I do(report or just close it), it comes up every time I start windows. There is no code telling me what kind of error it is....? I can still open and use windows, but it always starts with giving me this message. Can someone help me with this please Thanks

Do you still get the error when you boot up in Safe Mode?
Whatever, there might be some corruption.
Maybe you could try rolling back to the last restore point if you have one.

Is the WM_TABLET_FLICK window proc message still sent in Windows 8.1?

My application is receiving Flick message when running on windows 7, but on windows 8.1 I get WM_GESTURE messages for short pans rather than flicks. Is WM_TABLET_FLICK still supported or is there another way to detect flicks now?

Yes, WM_TABLET_FLICK is still supported on Windows 8.1.
MSDN documentation below also confirms the minimum supported client. However, it applies only to desktop apps (not WinRT or metro apps).

Further, WM_TABLET_FLICK message is recieved on empty form. If your form contains child controls, it would stop firing. Instead, you can use WM_GESTURENOTIFY message to get the handle of the control which is receiving WM_TABLET_MESSAGE. Please see the

"Customized Icon and Label has stopped working" message on startup in Windows Vista after latest iTunes upgrade

I upgraded to the latest iTunes as part of the process for upgrading my iPhone to iOS6.
Now I get a message window with the above message when I start Windows Vista.
Besides the nominal inconvenience of clicking to close the popup window, is this a problem?

Deleting Saved Messages?

My iPhone says I have 11GB of saved messages when I go to "Usage." When I delete all of my text messages, I still have 11GB of saved messages can someone help me get rid of these messages for good so I can have 11 free GB??

I had a similar issue with my iphone 4 a few years back. I had to do a system retore from my itunes on my computer to fix. There is probably a better solution but thats what worked for me
