Saving phone numbers

can you save your phone number into itunes is it possible?

press and hold the number for about 2 seconds and the right side panel will slide open providing several icons, one of which is "copy". Then you can paste it into contacts. Another option is to add to contacts (allows you to add to an existing contact or create a new one).

Why are my saved iPhone contacts now displayed as phone numbers instead of names?

my saved iPhone contacts are now displayed as phone numbers. I've added again as new contacts. After awhile, they revert back to phone numbers. What's wrong? It's happened several times today.

How to Fix
1- Dail *228 on your iPhone 4S which is basically recognized as Verizon programmingnumber.
2-   Press “1” to “Program or Activate” your iPhone 4S.
3-   After some time your call will be disconnected and a message will appear saying “Settings updated”.
4-   Open task manager by double clicking on your iPhone 4S Home Button.
5-   Close your Phone, Message and Contacts Apps.
6-   Wait 4-5 minutes and then open your iPhone 4S Message App to verify fix

Phone Numbers not saving!

I just got my phone today..i saved my nubers to my sim but they didnt appear when i turned the phone on..so i entered them in manually..i got a tex off a friend but just her number came up and not her name??? im useless with phones so i hope someone can help...

First off, I wouldn't recommend saving your "numbers to your SIM".
Save them to your BlackBerry contacts in your Address Book.
There could be any one of three solutions... Try these:
1. Make sure you set your own country code at Phone Dialer Screen > Options > Smart dialing.
Set your country code in this format: "+xx" where xx = your country code. Some countries have two or three digit Country Codes. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* In the US, set this Country Code as "+1", and place your loca area code in the proper box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).
2. At the same location, change the National Number Length to the number of digits for your country (since some countries will have less than 10 as set as the default in the BB). Find out the total digits, minus the country code. Do not place the '+' in your contact's entry.
* For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (plus 3 for country code). You would enter "8".
3. You may have "Content Protection" set on your Address Book.
Look at Options > Security > General Settings. Scroll down to Content Protection > Include Address Book = NO.

My Iphone 4s is not deleting phone numbers permanently. I will go in to delete them, however, the phone still has them saved. I can see this when I go to text people. What do I need to do to turn this off? I'm sure it is simple.

Saving favorite phone numbers

I cannot add phone numbers to the favorites list on the iphone. New glitch?

I don't know, thats why I'm asking how many you have. I have about 10 and can still add more. I would immagine "Favorites" would be pretty pointless beyond maybe 25 contacts.
You can also try removing someone from the favorites list to see if it will let you add them (or someone else) back in.

Phone numbers not appearing correctly in Messages

I love the new feature that allows you to reply to anyone in Messages, not just users with iOS devices.
However it doesn't seem to be bringing up my saved contacts correctly. On my iPhone I will receive the message with their name as it is saved in my contacts, where as on my Mac it comes up as just their number. One year ago I moved from the UK to the US, and although I bought my Mac in the US, when I go to reply to the number on my Mac, it is adding +44 in front of it, so obviously these messages are not going through (or if they are they're going to the wrong person!)
Is there a way around this? To set my Messages up to be default to +1, so therefore the numbers come up correctly as they do on my iPhone??

Names, addresses and phone numbers have dissappeared from my list, favorites and tx mess

Suddenly I went to favorites and realize most of my phones have no names only phone numbers. I went to all contacts and they are not there. I lost names addresses and all info. I need to know if is still there? in the memory? or I need to do it all over again.

Try importing your contact list from Verizon Backup Assist.
If you do not have that, then upload them from your saved contacts in your computer.
If you do not have that, then try to restore your backed up phone data from a previous backup on itunes.
If you still have none of those, then yeah. You're SOL and will have to manually insert everything. I recommend afterwards getting the backup assist app and backing everything up so you don't have to do that ever again.

Problem seeing phone numbers in contacts

After transferring a contact list from a nokia to my new iphone 4 some contacts do not display phone numbers although the numbers are stored as it is possible to send sms messages. How can I solve this problem.?

SOrry i forgot to mentions the reason i said check for Dublicate numbers with one digit difference.
i have almost the same problem since 9300 Series. i figured out that i have too many cantacts number where their mobile fields consist of 10 digits each, the only difference between the numbers is in one digit only ( ex. 0505 XXXXXX and 0555 XXXXXXX ) if the Xs are the same I wont be albe to see the caller ID if I saved each on a different contact card . But, If i deleted the contact card of the number 0555 XXXXXXX all the outgoing calls and incoming call from this number will show the caller ID of 0505 XXXXXXX.
what i found it odd is when the one digit difference is at the end of the number it will show the caller ID for xxxxxxx1 or xxxxxxx2. Very Strange!
Hope the Helpdesk will provide me with a suggestion to resolve such little problem.

Using # & p in saved contact numbers

I use a company voicemail and used to be able to add extra pauses and characters to a saved number in order to access the system. This no longer works since I have IOS5. Any suggestions?

The symbols used in the iPhone are:
soft pause => , (that's a comma, if it's not clear)
hard pause => ; (that's a semi-colon)
Those work in my contacts phone numbers with iOS 5 at least.

Just checked Contacts while trying to make a phone call and i don't see any of my phone numbers..I had probably 50+ in my contacts list. What gives? What do I do now?

That must be frustrating when you can't save all of your valuable contacts. Google is a great suggestion for the Fascinate. Additionally, you can access your Backup Assistant application online via "My Verizon." You will have the option to sync your contacts online if all of the numbers have been saved and are displayed.

Mixed phone numbers and names after sinc N9 and ov...

I have problem with my contact list. After i synchonised my previous N79 with N9, everything was fine. AFter adding new contacts to the new phone i wanted to synchronise it with ovi, i did so but it made completely mess with all my contacts. I cant say if i miss any numbers but it was way worse, it has mixed up names and numbers without any sence so I realised that under name A i had a phonecontact of B and C. At some names were suddenly no phone numbers. And some of them were even doubled - like there was the same number saved under both A and B but it belonged to C. I hate it, had to rewrite all the ontact list manually along the old phone. That took me hours if anyone can imagine. Now Im not brave enough to try the sync again eventhough i need to do that... Anyone having the same problem or even better - solution?

Try plugging your iPad into your computer and opening iTunes. Select your iPad underdevices on the left side of the screen and right click. You should be given an option torestore from a backup.
If this option is not available to you, you can go through the Summary tab of your iPad on the right side of the screen and if you scroll down under iCloud you should get an option to restore from a previous backup, where you select the most recent backup to put on your iPad.

Retrieving contacts and phone numbers

The screen on my phone is broken so I can't access any of the information on my phone. I need the phone numbers for work and its very important that I can get them back. The lady at the phone store wasn't able to retrieve the numbers, but told me to get on here and it would work if I hook a cord up to the phone. I never updated my account or had an email account associated with my phone and updates on this site. How can I get the numbers back?

If you had earlier copied the contacts to Sim card then can get as much contact you had saved from Sim card,
You are saying that you can't access it cause of broken screen but if you can Turn On the device then I think you will
be able to get your contacts by mean of Blackberry desktop software but of course you need a usb cord.

While trying to sync a new iphone5S and a ipod touch the contact phone numbers disappeared. Where would I be able to retrieve them at?

While trying to sync an ipod touch and a new iphone 5S the phone numbers in my contacts was erased. The other information on them in the contacts is still there but the phone numbers on everyone is gone. Does anyone know how to retrieve the phone numbers.

Deletion of "Business" Phone Numbers in Outlook af...

Has anyone had problems with business phone numbers stored in Microsoft Outlook being deleted after synching a Nokia N95 thru PC Suite? I have contacted Microsoft and they cannot help. Interestingly, it is only the "Business" phone number filed in Outlook that seems to have this problem - all others are OK.

Migrating address book to 10.5.2, missing phone numbers

I migrated from OS 10.3.9 on a Powerbook G4 to 10.5.2 on my new MacBook Pro. It mostly went well except for an oddity in Address Book. Most data moved over except of some phone numbers. There is no pattern except that on some entries none of the phone numbers came across, sometime a partial list of the numbers came over and sometimes all of the numbers. Has anyone seen this problem? Is there a fix? I saved earlier versions of Address Book backups on disc but am unsure if there is a way to import only the missing data.

You can export personal address book by opening CUCM CLI and type below this commands :
show tech table personaladdressbook csv
show tech table personalphonebook csv
and then "file get activelog FileName" to get the files.
Note: There is no way to add these entries via BAT.
