Saving Photo E-mail Attachments

Does anyone know how to save e-mail attachments (particularly photos) to the iPhone?

well, when I get home to my iMac, I reopen the email containing the pics so I can see them bigger, save them to iPhoto from there, and make any adjustments like cropping or color or sharpness, then I know the better version will be synced to my iPhone on the next sync. But it would be nice to just save them directly. I'm just wondering if that would get us into sync nightmares having the same pics on both the iPhone and in iPhoto ready to sync..seems like that forces the iPhoto window to come up asking you which version you want to keep.

  • Saved Photos from email attachments blurry in photos.app

I have two problems since upgrading to 2.0. When I view photo attachments from my email, the photos look perfectly clear. But when I save the photos to the photos application it looks completely blurry. I did a test by saving photos from safari and there was no problems. The only way to fix this is extract the photos from ipod and resync it using itunes. Also when i plug in the ipod to windows xp, i get autorun message saying "camera connected select program for this action" there was no option to take no action. It gets annoying. Appreciate any help for my problem.

ah, the old photo resolution bug. this was supposed to be fixed in one of the 2.X updates, some people found it fixed it, some people found it didn't.

  • Saving photos from Mail.app

Anyone else having an issue after upgrading to iOS 4.1 when saving a picture from the Mail.app it isn't viewable in the Photo.app?
I'll get some pictures (full-resolution) via mail, but when I use the "save images" feature in mail, it saves a lower resolution picture in Photos. On top of that, I'm unable to mail the punctures from the photo.app. Or send via mms. If I copy, it copies a low res version.

I noticed the same issue last weekend after updating to iOS4.1. The saved photos seem to lock up the camera roll and you have to go to a previous picture and then scroll to the newly saved picture to view it. It is saved in such a low resolution, it is not worth having.

  • Sending photos as mail attachments to PC will not open

Photo attchments sent to a PC via Mail will not open.
As per suggestions I have added the .Doc extension to JPEG s and atached to the bottom of the message.
Does any one have any further ideas I can try?
    Thanks.
    Sandy

Do not change the extension to .doc - and stop listening to advice from whatever source you got that idea from.  Changing the extension to .doc will make the recieving machine think the file is a Microsoft Word document...  and it isn't, so Word won't be able to open it.  The extension needs to be .jpeg or .jpg if the file is a JPEG.
As to opening attachments, make sure you have Edit -> Attachments -> Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments checked.  You may still have problems with recipients who are using Outlook, though.  Outlook is broken when it comes to understanding HTML e-mail messages, and Mail likes to send HTML messages.  (In fact, recent changes to Mail will make your message HTML, regardless of whether you have specified it to be plain text, in certain situations.)
If you find that you are unable to send to people using Outlook, and you aren't willing to ask them to switch to a non-broken mail client just for you, then you could try something like setting up a Picasa or Dropbox account and uploading your photos there.

  • Saving photo attachments from Mail to iPhone

    Merry Christmas
The MMS debate and iPhone rages on and many iPhone fanatics say 'why do you need MMS when you can send/receive photos as email attachments...?'. If that's the case, is there any way you can save a photo received as an email attachment to the 'Photo' section of the iPhone? Is this yet another oversight from our friends in Apple or have I just not discovered how to do it? If the former, it seems the only way to keep photo attachments is to archive all emails with photo attachments - neither intuitive, functional nor an effective use of memory...or I could save emailed photos into iPhoto when next on my iMac and transfer them over to my iPhone when it's docked, but this somehow seems to underline the iPhone's lack of functionality in this area (a rarity given the rest of it is absolutely superb - aside from the MMS issue, lack of video & non-ability to forward/send multi-SMSs).
Grateful for any advice, or do just have to write some feedback to Apple and just grin and bare it?
    Cheers

Sorry to say this but yeah this one is for the feedback page, there is no way to save the photos from the Mail app to the Photo app

  • IPod Touch 2.0 bug saving photos from e-mails

    Hi all
Has anyone else had problems saving photo attachments in e-mails on the Touch with 2.0 software. I received an e-mail with 5 jpeg photo attachments. Opened them up to view them, decided to save them.
When I selected "Save 5 images" the Touch appeared to freeze for a bit (though it may have been converting the jpegs to thumbnail format I guess?) and then when I went to Photo to look at them, the app wouldn't open. It started, displayed a blank Event list and then bombed out back to the help screen...
Rebooting the Touch and saving them individually allowed me to save 4 of the 5 - but oddly the 5th image, although not in the event and viewable IS the image used to tag the event.
    Quite odd.
Has anyone else been able to save photos reliably from e-mails into their photo library on their Touch 2.0?

    Hi,
I had this multiple times. Two times I was able to fix this in "just" remove MobileMe and the Exchange account. But this time the problem continues to exist. I've worked around this in using IMAP for E-Mail and Exchange for Contacts/Appointments. However since we're using PostPath instead of "real" Exchange contacts won't sync anyway.
Since I don't want to restore my whole iPod once a day I will stay with the IMAP workaround and hope that this will be fixed in 2.0.1

  • Mail attachments not saving to the folder I choose

My mail attachments are not saving to the folder I choose.  When I select a file to save in the mail drop-down box, I am given options to save to a folder of my choice.  However, when I select save the document is actually saved deep in some Mail Downloads area, not in my chosen folder.  Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution?

What kind of files are you trying to attach?
Is it all recipients having this problem or specific one(s)?
Could you possibly post a screenshot of the sent message from your side and a screenshot of what the recipient sees?
What happens if you send one of these messages to yourself?

  • Saved photos from e-mail to desktop. Now can't get them off.

I saved photos from an e-mail to my desktop as well as I-photos. Now I can't get them off the desktop. How can i do that?

    Hello Sungal15,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To remove items from your computer, all you need to do is simply click and drag them to the Trash on your dock.
Delete an item from your Mac
Drag the item to the Trash. Or select the item, then press Command (⌘)–Delete.
Click the Trash, then click Empty. You can also choose Finder > Empty Trash.
When you see a warning message, click OK.

    Take care,

  • How can one send email-sized photo files as attachments in Mail, without the photos appearing within the email?s

How can one send email-sized photo files as attachments in Apple Mail, without the photos appearing in the body of the email?  If it can be done, it's not at all obvious, at least not to me.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

The "View as icon" option shrinks the photo to an icon in the sender's Apple Mail, but how it appears to the recipient varies dependingy on what e-mail client he/she uses.
Using Apple Mail 5.0 (the Lion version) at both ends, the sender can use the "View as icon" option to shrink his view of the photo to an icon, but the recipient also using Apple Mail 5.0 still sees the full photo in line with the message text. The recipient can then use the "View as icon" option to shrink it to an icon, but I don't think that's not what jackofarabia is looking for.
As far as I know there is no way in the current Apple Mail to do what jackofarabia wants. There should be, but there isn't.

  • Saving photo attachments

I can't figure out how to save photo attachments from email. I've searched the user's manual and various websites for the right answer to this. I've tried tapping and holding on the photo. I've tried bringing up the menu with the attachment open. None of it has worked. Can anyone help? Thank you!

    1. From the home screen, select Messaging.
    2. Select a contact / mobile number.
    3. Select and hold the message.
    4. Select one of the following message options.
Depending upon message / attachment type, the available options will vary.

  • Saving e-mail attachments

Anyone know of a way of saving an e-mail attachment, or the whole e-mail with the attachment? I thought if I just moved it to the "Drafts" folder, I could use it like a place to save things, but that did not work.
Any way to create an extra mail folder on the iPhone?

No, you can't create folders on the iphone or save attachments on the iphone.
If you have an imap account on the iphone, you can create the folder in the imap account using your computer. Then you can use that folder to move mail to on the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Saving mail attachments

Since upgrading to snow leopard the 'save' button for saving email attachments has stopped working. any ideas?

I suspect you will find the attachments saved in the Mail Downloads folder -- Home/Library/Mail Downloads. This is the result of a quick click on the Save Button. To direct it where to Save, click and briefly hold on the Save button and you will be presented with the normal dialogue. The change was in this subtle difference in how you click on the Save button.
If you don't find any such attachments in the Mail Downloads folder, open Mail Preferences/General and tell me what is reported beside Downloads folder?

  • Saving e-mail attachments (NOT PICTURES)

Does anyone know if there is an app out there that will allow you to save e-mail attachments? Word, excel, or PP.

Cannot be done. There is no user-accessible file system on the iPhone. Apps that allow file storage/transfer (Air Sharing, File Magnet, DataCase) store the files 'within' the apps themselves, and can only get them transferred over WiFi with the app active.

  • Since upgrading to 8.0.2, I can't open mail attachments JPG

Why can't I open mail attachments photo.JPG, PDF...  I could before I updated to 8.0.2

Did you have Firefox 37.0 or 37.0.1 before you updated? The changes were very minor, so I think the problem is more along the lines of a glitch than a program change...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
