Saving Photo's from MMS

My girlfriend sent me pictures from her Blackberry and when i opened them they were fine. However after saving these images and looking at them in my photo album, the phone had modified the pictures to be stretched and not as good as when they were in the text message section.
Also when i tried to look at them on my computer IPhoto could not read the photos as they were said to be jpeg. How do i fix these problems

I'll take a stab at it Damien,
Can you drop the image into a email to yourself from your phone?
Open email, drag image to desktop, then do a file 'Save As' jPeg, then import to iPhoto?
I have seen odd blank images in iPhoto, and I think this is what I did.
Good Luck

• Saving photo attachments from Mail to iPhone

Merry Christmas
The MMS debate and iPhone rages on and many iPhone fanatics say 'why do you need MMS when you can send/receive photos as email attachments...?'. If that's the case, is there any way you can save a photo received as an email attachment to the 'Photo' section of the iPhone? Is this yet another oversight from our friends in Apple or have I just not discovered how to do it? If the former, it seems the only way to keep photo attachments is to archive all emails with photo attachments - neither intuitive, functional nor an effective use of memory...or I could save emailed photos into iPhoto when next on my iMac and transfer them over to my iPhone when it's docked, but this somehow seems to underline the iPhone's lack of functionality in this area (a rarity given the rest of it is absolutely superb - aside from the MMS issue, lack of video & non-ability to forward/send multi-SMSs).
Grateful for any advice, or do just have to write some feedback to Apple and just grin and bare it?
Cheers

Sorry to say this but yeah this one is for the feedback page, there is no way to save the photos from the Mail app to the Photo app

• Saving photos send from iPhone in Windows

Hi,
When I send a bunch of pictutes from iPhone5 all of them are attached to the email with the same name.
When I try to save them all (one by one or all of them on the same time) under MsWindows mail applications (mainly Windows mail) have a problems with saving them as under Win you cannot have two files with the same nam in one folder.
Is there any chance that the files attached during creation of the mail in iPhone5 have different random names?
Is there any other way to effectivelly save multiple pictures sent from iPhone?
K

You can try the following, it worked for me. Click START, open up MY COMPUTER, and your iPhone should be listed under Portable Devices below your HDD's and DVD drives. Keep clicking and eventually you should reach the folder with your pics and videos. To be on the safe side, I would not try moving or deleting the files for there might be an indexing file on the phone, but I was able to copy my photos and video clips to my PC. The videos are in .mov format and play in QuickTime.

• Photos gone from MMS

How do I get photos back that were in a TXT message, that has been replaced by a blank screen?

I have what I think is a similar problem When I go to my camera roll (iPhone 4) there is a big black box which apparently contains all of my old photos. (The line at the bottom of the screen says I have 168.) The pics are there because I can "arrow" through them, but the only ones that show up on the screen are the recent few I took.
How can I recover the previews of my previous camera roll photos?

• When I am saving photos from a file, I cannot get the save path to go back to the default folder I want them in. Each save has to be done by going through the path to find the folder I'm saving to.

I am saving photo files from my camera, a drop box etc. I used to be able to click "save as" and the folder I saved in before came up for saving the new image. Now, I have to start way back to the "Barb" folder - to "documents" "images, etc" back up to the folder I save these particular pictures in.
How do I get the "save" to go to the last folder I used - in this particular session?
Everytime you route me back to "educated guesses" I cannot find this particular problem

Firefox 11+ versions have support via browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref to disable to disable the feature to remember the download directory based upon the URL.
The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is hidden).
Create a new Boolean pref with the name browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite and set the value to false.
You may have the clear the "Site Preferences" via Clear Recent History to remove already stored data.

• Saving photos from Mail.app

Anyone else having an issue after upgrading to iOS 4.1 when saving a picture from the Mail.app it isn't viewable in the Photo.app?
I'll get some pictures (full-resolution) via mail, but when I use the "save images" feature in mail, it saves a lower resolution picture in Photos. On top of that, I'm unable to mail the punctures from the photo.app. Or send via mms. If I copy, it copies a low res version.

I noticed the same issue last weekend after updating to iOS4.1. The saved photos seem to lock up the camera roll and you have to go to a previous picture and then scroll to the newly saved picture to view it. It is saved in such a low resolution, it is not worth having.

• I have just bought an ipad2 and was told that I could transfer all my saved photos from an old computer that I didn't want to synch with and then delete the ones I didn't want later. I can't do this without synching. How do I do this?

I bought an ipod2 yesterday and all the photos were from an old computer (that I don't want to synch with) were transferred in the store without synching with it. I was told I could delete any I didn't want later but now find I can't delete any without synching through itunes which I don't want to do as I want to synch with a different computer. Is there a way I can just delete them all before I go and buy any apps etc or just restore to the shop settings and start again with a more selective upload as I now have over 8000 photos clogging up the memory when I only need about 1000.
Would really appreciate some advice

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone. The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

• Trying to get Saved Photos from my iPod to my Computer

Hi there
I am a Windows Vista user and i have owned an iPod Touch 2nd Gen 16 Gb for many months.
Before i have updated from 3.0 software to 3.1, i used to access the 'Saved Photos' frolder on my ipod by going to My computer and d.clicking on the ipod icon and there was the folder with the photos i have saved on my ipod, for instance photos i saved from the web browser or backgrounds i saved from some applications.
Now, there is no iPod Touch icon in My computer ever again, nither when ipod touch is connected and being synced nor when the sync is finished. Simply, i can not find a way to access the saved photos folder after the update.
Does anyone know if maybe there is some new setting in iTunes that turns on this convenient function on an iPod touch?
I know there are programs that allow you to COPY all photo content from an iPod but this is not what i am looking for.
I want to do this because I want to keep the Saved Photos on my PC so when I restore my iPod I can still have 'em put in my iPod, since I will lose them restoring it..

Nevermind I just figured it out! I had to select NO EVENTS which made that whole section clickable and I unchecked what I didn't want on my iPod!

• How do i save Images from the "Saved Photos" folder in my iPad

I have no idea how to save the images that i save while surfing the net or emails.
They are saved to a folder in my IMAGE build in app called "Saved Photos", but i don't know how to get them out of my iPad.
Does anyone know how do do this?
Thanks

Very simple, open up my computer and the iPad icon should be displayed just like any other drive. When you open it up it will than say internal storage. then a folder, mine is labeled DCIM like many camera folder names, that is where all your saved photos are. i think you can only copy them from the folder to your hard drive, and you have to delete them on the iPad. i guess you can say it treats it like a huge flash drive but just with your saved photos

Need some help in saving video message from viber to my Iphone 5S with new ios 8's program . I disabled the thing that would save photos and videos automatically then, there comes a video I want to save. After loading and watching it, I press the "save to gallery" thing but it doesn't save in gallery. I tried all, restarting my phone, rebooting then turning on the save automatically thing and when I watch it again, it still wouldn't save.

Probably a good question to ask Viber or look at their support site.

• How do I import photos from my ipad that are not in the saved photos folder

I do have a saved photos album and was able to import those. However, I have several other folders and I can't figure out how to get the photos from my iPad to my new iMac. Or for that matter, into the saved photos folder. This is my first experience with iPhoto. Any help? Thanks!

If you want to remove all of your synced photos .....
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad under the devices tab in the upper right or in the left sidebar, if you have the sidebar enabled.
Click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Uncheck the "Sync Photos From" heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
IF that doesn't work, create an empty folder on your desktop and call it "Empty Folder". Select that folder in the "Sync Photos From" heading in the photos tab of iTunes and then click on Apply. That will also remove all synced photos.

• How do I stop duplicates of saved photos from being imported into iPhoto?

When I sych to iPhoto, I get duplicates of art work that I have in "Saved Photos". iPhoto doesn't screen out art work that I have created and added before making a lot of work to delete all the duplicates.

Photos you take on your iPhone are normally displayed in the Last 12 Months section of iPhoto. If you are using iPhoto to archive photos copy the photos from there to other albums in iPhoto instead of syncing them.

• Saved photos from e-mail to desktop. Now can't get them off.

I saved photos from an e-mail to my desktop as well as I-photos. Now I can't get them off the desktop. How can i do that?

Hello Sungal15,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To remove items from your computer, all you need to do is simply click and drag them to the Trash on your dock.
Delete an item from your Mac
Drag the item to the Trash. Or select the item, then press Command (⌘)–Delete.
Click the Trash, then click Empty. You can also choose Finder > Empty Trash.
When you see a warning message, click OK.
OS X Yosemite: Delete files and folders
Take care,
Alex H.
