Saving Photos after Restore

I recently had a huge problem with my iPod Touch 4G, where it completely froze and went into recovery mode. After connecting it to iTunes, I had to restore it yesterday. I know that I should have backed it up as much as possible, but my laptop was extremely slow and took over three hours just to transfer purchased items. The last backup I did was in January, so all of my media and photos since then have been taken off. Is there any way possible I could recover my photos? My notes were deleted, but somehow they showed back up today. I didn't know if somehow I could recover the photos/videos like the notes. I know there's probably nothing I can do now, but they were from my whole sophomore year in high school and I really wish I could have saved them. I appreciate any help I can get! Thanks in advance.

I know of no way to get your photos that you took or save on your iPod since the January backup.

  • How to recover photos after restoring iPod touch?

Yesterday, there was an update for the iOS 6, I believe. When I pressed the update button, a message popped up saying that there was a problem with my iPod touch 4G and that I need to restore it. I had absolutely no idea why that message would pop up in the first place because my iPod was working just fine. But I couldn't update my iPod to the newest version if I didn't do what iTunes says... so I was about to restore my iPod, but then I was worried that all of my photos would disappear. So I decided to update my iOS later so that I could transfer all my files on to my computer. I then unplugged my iPod, and tried to turn it on but the home screen wouldn't pop - no matter what I did, all the screen showed was an itunes icon on top with a USB plug-in cord at the bottom. So I had no choice but to restore my iPod. The thing is, once I restored my iPod and all, my photos were all gone and I did not use iCloud as a back-up since a few months ago. All of my recent photos are now gone and I have no idea how to recover them. I've tried programs that aim to recover deleted photos, but they didn't work.
Is there a way to recover photos after restoring the iPod Touch?

    Hello,
It is very important to backup your device to the computer before updating or restoring.
You can restore your device to a previous backup, all the photos that were there when you made the backup should return with it, but I'm afraid that any photos taken or saved after the last backup are unrecoverable.
    I hope this helps.

  • Where can I find un-recovered photos after restoring from Icloud

Where can I find un-recovered photos after restoring from Icloud?

They would only be stored in your backup.  If they didn't restore properly all you can do is try restoring the backup again.

  • HT1414 I accidentally deleted all my photos after restoring is it possible to get it back

  • IPhone 4s no longer saving photos after downloading iOS6

After downloading the new iOS6 to my iPhone 4s I can no longer save pictures from Facebook or the web. When I touch the photo I am given the option to save it (which I do), but then it doesn't appear in my camera roll.  Only pics taken with camera are saved.  Why is this happening??

There is one way of saving photos of Facebook that is to hold down the home button and the button at the top of your phone the button at top hold these two down together and it will save it for you. You might have to do it a few times but it will work because I do it this way all the time hope it works for ya.

  • Finding photos after restoring windows 8 to Factory Settingd

where to find photos placed in hidden folder in  C  after restoring windows to factory settings

    HI @Xarar,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a terrific place to find answers.
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
It is my understanding the you did a recovery back to factory.  If you did a full factory recovery, it would have reformatted the drive, recreated the partitions and reinstalled the software back to factory.  That means all data on the hard drive would be gone.
You can do a Google search for data recovery.  You may be able to locate data recovery software that would allow you to retrieve your photos.
    Good Luck!

  • How to recover photos after restore without backup?

    Hello
Basically, a couple weeks ago my iPod 4th gen died.
I went out to buy a new charger. This charger worked for a while, but then stopped.
Every time I plugged it in, it would show me the screen that indicates
that I have to connect my iPod to iTunes.
So, I bought a new charger and used it to connect to iTunes,
only to find out that my iPod was in Recovery Mode!
The only option was to restore it. I tried to back it up, however the options
were all greyed out. A pop-up indicated that I could get my contacts and what not
back after the restore, so I did it.
After the restore, my iPod went back to the factory settings.
I was happy, thinking that there was a backup of all my photos saved to my computer.
Yet when I check iTunes, I could not restore the backup!
I am honestly so devastated. I could care less about the contacts and apps, but I had
pictures of my younger cousins and family collected for over 4 years.
I'd really love to get these back. I tried using those recovery programs, but nothing
worked for me! I also tried to get a back up from an older computer I used, but it said that I'd
never done a back up on that computer.
This whole situation has upset me, I'm not sure of what to do now.
I just really want those photos back.
Thank you for reading, sorry that this is so long.
Any solutions? (iPod 4th gen, iOS 6.1.6)

No, updating iTunes does not delete any iOS device backups.

  • I cant find my photos after restoring backup

I deleted my contacts by mistake to I restored the backup on my computer but then I found out that the photos where lost after the restoring so what should I do now to get them back ?!!

Because Photos, like iPhoto and Aperture before it, replaces the Finder for anything to do with your pictures.
Use the Media Browser for uploading. You can access it from whatever website you're using:

  • Saving photos when restoring IPad

My iPad  3 wouldn't start up and only showed me a USB plug with the ITunes icon. I looked this up on the internet and see that it means I need to restore the IPad. However, I read that all my media, including photos on my I{Pad will be lost after the restoration and software update. Is this true. Will my photos be gone forever? Or can they be restored or found somewhere after the installation and restoration?

    It is true.l
Your photos will be gone after the restore. They can only be restore if they are backed up.

  • Updating to iOS 6.1.4 gave me lots of problems!!! no sms or photos after restore

Today I have updated my iPhone 5 using iTunes on my PC to iOS 6.1.4 but it did not go well, it just crashed and asked me to restore it from the back up which I did, but now I am missing photos and messages, what do I do to get them back to my iPhone?
P.S. Contacts, Calender are there, purchesed apps as well

Your camera roll photos are supposed to come back if they were on the phone when the back up was made.

  • HT201317 iphone4 forced restore.  Cant see my photos on ICloud?  Should I restore factory settings Will I be able to recover my photos after restore?

Screen locked yesterday x 5 times.  Powered on/off AOK.  Connected to ITunes on windows PC, upgraded OS as suggested, Synch performed, backup halted Out of space?  tried to delete apps from ITunes directly, Error messages "disk is full".  Phone screen now showing ITunes logo and ITunes prompting a Restore of phone.  What should I do?  Will I lose my photos?  I cant see any option to view my photos on ICloud (Contacts appear okay on ICloud)

Photos are not available for viewing on icloud and are not backed up to it from a PC or Mac, only from an ios device.  It sounds like your iphone was unable to perform a backup to icloud before going bad (or whatever happened to it).  You'll just have to perfrom a restore to see if any photos come back.
But the usual advice regarding photos is that you sync photos to the PC periodically as you would photos from a camera.  If you've been doing that, then you'll find copies on the PC.

  • Problem viewing photos after restoring new iPhone 6

Got a new iPhone 6 yesterday. Followed the basic steps to duplicating my old 5 to the 6 and synced perfectly. However, when I went to view my photos, I noticed that nearly all of them were blank/white. The phone recognized that there were photos but would not show them or load them. Can I get some help on how to get my photos to show? I also have iCloud Library Sharing turned on.

    Greetings kspenrath,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Camera app on your iPhone. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Duplicate photos after restore

I was using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my old laptop, then replaced my laptop and installed Adobe Premier Elements 9. I have moved my photo folder from the old laptop (D:\Data\Photos) to my new laptop (C:\Data\Photos), and also performed a backup in Elements 9 to an external drive. I have also added photos in separate subdirectories in the new location that were not in the catalog when I backed up.
Yesterday I restored my catalog backup, chose C:\Data\Photos as the location, and believe I messed up when I checked the box to Restore original folder structure. Now I have my photos in my catalog, but they're in C:\Data\Photos\Data\Photos.
Is there a way to delete the current catalog with the duplicate folders and restore again, and how do I avoid the dupliates?

That's what I'm trying to do. There are photos in C: Data\Photos\Data\Photos, but they are a duplicate of what is in C: Data\Photos so I can delete the entire folder and it's contents.
My intent was to restore my catalog so I'd have all my tags and comments and change the location of the files from drive D: to C:. I really didn't need to restore the photos since I had the copied from the old drive, but didn't see a way to restore only the information about the photos and change their location in the catalog.

  • No Photos after Restore from Time Machine Backup

    Hi,
    the following happened:
    - accidentally marked all pictures and moved them to one event which led to me having only one single event with 11,000 pics in it
    - Undo did not work, iPhoto crashed
    - Entered time machine, restored latest iPhoto Library which I am sure of it worked
    - After starting the restored iPhoto library it tells me that it is rebuilding the thumbnail cache
    - It then shows that I have 11,000 pics, I have all albums and events, but I do not see any pics. Only attention marks.
    - The library file has the full size (24,X GB)
Any advise how to get the pics back? I use the latest version of iPhoto, including todays update.
    Thanks,
    Chris

I solved this - it was actually not an iPhoto problem, more a Time Machine back up file issue.

  • Recovering photos after restoring backup overwrites content on phone

There were two iPhones on one iCloud account. Randomly the contacts from one phone ended up on the other and were deleted. This caused the contacts from the original phone to be deleted also. Upon trying to restore the deleted contacts, the content from the other phone overwrote the content of the original phone (because the original wasn't backed up on the cloud). The photos of the original phone were overwritten with the restoration of the backup. Is there any way that the photos can be retrieved? The music from the original phone remains which leads me to think that there might be some way to get the pictures back

Camera roll photos can only be restored by restoring the backup.  If the backup doesn't contain the photos you're looking for, they can't be recovered.  You music and other purchased media is redownloaded from the iTunes store when you restore a backup.  If the music was on the phone that was backed up, it will be restored to the device you restore the backup to.
