Saving Photos From Elements3

How do I save Photos for viewing on a CD without reloading PSE 3 for each picture... would like to have photo's on a CD and be able to both save them for future editing as well as easy viewing... I would hope I can do this using the PSE 3 program without having to save pictures to another editing program I/E Microsoft Picture It..

Can I weigh in on this topic?
First of all, you are dealing with several issues:
1. digital scrapbooking - lots of info on the net about this topic. You DO NOT need to have your photos downloaded via PSE to use them in layouts. I don't use PSE 3 or 4 on my PC, so I am not familiar with the organizer function, but I have lots of digital photos and I digiscrap with them. I know it is possible to download photos via PSE, but I use the software that cam with my camera. It has a photo browser that will show me several pictures at once and gives me the ability to edit titles and descriptions. Also, the software doenloads and sorts by date which is very helpful for me since most important events are date-specific. Believe me, when you don't download by date, you end up with a lot of photos in one folder, and it does get overwhelming to deal with them. And, to complicate this issue further, there are other photo browsers out there that are probably better than the one that came with my camera - faster, more efficient, etc.
2. Archiving of layouts and folders - I have to agree with all other posts about getting an external hard drive or an additional internal drive if your computer supports that option. They are relatively cheap for the immense storage space you get. Many digiscrappers organize photos and layouts by year, then by month, then by date or event. That gives you three levels of folders: top folder is year (for example "Layouts 2005"). The second level of folders would be labeled as each month of the year (for example, "Layouts January"). Finally, you can use event names like "Joe's 15th birthday" or "Jan132005" or a combination of the two depending on how long you like your folder names. Photos can be organized the same way.
3. Backing up - If you organize your stuff as described above, making backups is much easier because you now have managible-sized folders. I don't usually compress files for back-up of Layouts and important photos due to data loss potential, but that is my preference. I don't use a DVD burner because the industry hasn't really standardized the technology yet. I will probably switch from CDs to DVDs once the technology is more standardized. I also use a disc catalog program to create an index of what is on each CD. This is where descriptive titles are very helpful. If you have the time, changing photo names to actual titles is a good idea if you will be referring back to them with any frequency. Also, I make TWO copies of each CD and I store one set in a different location (in this case, my husband's office at work) just to be on the safe side. I know folks who store their second copies in their safe deposit boxes. Do what works best for you.
I'd like to add one more thing. I had an external hard drive with a lot of data files on it. I hadn't been backing up regularly, and before I got around to it, the drive failed. So, even if you have your photos on an external drive, back them up regularly. You never know when something will go wrong and you could lose everything. If you don't trust optical media, get another external drive and back up to that. I wish that I had done that.
Good luck, and happy scrapping!

I saved photos from my Macbook Pro onto my Iphone (using itunes, 4 years ago). My macbook is now dead and I need to get the photos I saved off of my iphone 3GS transferred to a pc.  Any help...  From my PC I can only access "internal storage"

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone.  The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

  • Saved photos from e-mail to desktop. Now can't get them off.

I saved photos from an e-mail to my desktop as well as I-photos. Now I can't get them off the desktop. How can i do that?

    Hello Sungal15,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To remove items from your computer, all you need to do is simply click and drag them to the Trash on your dock.
Delete an item from your Mac
Drag the item to the Trash. Or select the item, then press Command (⌘)–Delete.
Click the Trash, then click Empty. You can also choose Finder > Empty Trash.
When you see a warning message, click OK.
OS X Yosemite: Delete files and folders
    Take care,

  • Saved Photos from email attachments blurry in photos.app

I have two problems since upgrading to 2.0. When I view photo attachments from my email, the photos look perfectly clear. But when I save the photos to the photos application it looks completely blurry. I did a test by saving photos from safari and there was no problems. The only way to fix this is extract the photos from ipod and resync it using itunes. Also when i plug in the ipod to windows xp, i get autorun message saying "camera connected select program for this action" there was no option to take no action. It gets annoying. Appreciate any help for my problem.

ah, the old photo resolution bug. this was supposed to be fixed in one of the 2.X updates, some people found it fixed it, some people found it didn't.

  • How do I get saved photos from my iPod touch to my computer?

Just as the subject says, I don't know how to get saved photos from my iPod touch to my computer. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? My iPod is currently the latest version.

When you sync your iPod touch it should do all of this automatically. If not, when your iPod touch appears in the iTunes control bar click it and check the settings as it should always take a complete back up. I back mine up to a mac, and when I do it automatically launches iphoto to transfer any images on there. I’m pretty sure that gallery in windows does the same, although you may have to manually transfer them.Or you can consider some iPod transfer softwares. But there are many softwares.I think you may need a transfer software review.I hope it can help you~

  • How do I access my Iphoto photos on a different Mac. I saved photos from My Macbook Pro and sold it. Now I want to access those pictures on my desktop Mac. Is this possible?

I saved photos from my Macbook Pro and sold it. Now I want to access those pictures from the Macbook Pro on my desktop Mac. Is this possible?

That would depend on where you saved the photos. I assume they are on an external drive or a cd(s) or DVD or USB drive. Hook whatever device they are on to the desktop Mac, open iPhoto and do an Import to Library from the File menu.

  • When I am saving photos from a file, I cannot get the save path to go back to the default folder I want them in. Each save has to be done by going through the path to find the folder I'm saving to.

I am saving photo files from my camera, a drop box etc. I used to be able to click "save as" and the folder I saved in before came up for saving the new image. Now, I have to start way back to the "Barb" folder - to "documents" "images, etc" back up to the folder I save these particular pictures in.
How do I get the "save" to go to the last folder I used - in this particular session?
Everytime you route me back to "educated guesses" I cannot find this particular problem

Firefox 11+ versions have support via <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> pref to disable to disable the feature to remember the download directory based upon the URL.<br />
The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is hidden).<br />
Create a new <b>Boolean</b> pref with the name <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> and set the value to false.
You may have the clear the "Site Preferences" via Clear Recent History to remove already stored data.

  • Trying to get Saved Photos from my iPod to my Computer

    Hi there
I am a Windows Vista user and i have owned an iPod Touch 2nd Gen 16 Gb for many months.
Before i have updated from 3.0 software to 3.1, i used to access the 'Saved Photos' frolder on my ipod by going to My computer and d.clicking on the ipod icon and there was the folder with the photos i have saved on my ipod, for instance photos i saved from the web browser or backgrounds i saved from some applications.
Now, there is no iPod Touch icon in My computer ever again, nither when ipod touch is connected and being synced nor when the sync is finished. Simply, i can not find a way to access the saved photos folder after the update.
Does anyone know if maybe there is some new setting in iTunes that turns on this convenient function on an iPod touch?
I know there are programs that allow you to COPY all photo content from an iPod but this is not what i am looking for.
I want to do this because I want to keep the Saved Photos on my PC so when I restore my iPod I can still have 'em put in my iPod, since I will lose them restoring it..

Nevermind I just figured it out! I had to select NO EVENTS which made that whole section clickable and I unchecked what I didn't want on my iPod!

  • How do I stop duplicates of saved photos from being imported into iPhoto?

When I sych to iPhoto, I get duplicates of art work that I have in "Saved Photos".  iPhoto doesn't screen out art work that I have created and added before making a lot of work to delete all the duplicates.

Photos you take on your iPhone are normally displayed in the Last 12 Months section of iPhoto. If you are using iPhoto to archive photos copy the photos from there to other albums in iPhoto instead of syncing them.

  • IPod Touch 2.0 bug saving photos from e-mails

    Hi all
Has anyone else had problems saving photo attachments in e-mails on the Touch with 2.0 software. I received an e-mail with 5 jpeg photo attachments. Opened them up to view them, decided to save them.
When I selected "Save 5 images" the Touch appeared to freeze for a bit (though it may have been converting the jpegs to thumbnail format I guess?) and then when I went to Photo to look at them, the app wouldn't open. It started, displayed a blank Event list and then bombed out back to the help screen...
Rebooting the Touch and saving them individually allowed me to save 4 of the 5 - but oddly the 5th image, although not in the event and viewable IS the image used to tag the event.
    Quite odd.
Has anyone else been able to save photos reliably from e-mails into their photo library on their Touch 2.0?

    Hi,
I had this multiple times. Two times I was able to fix this in "just" remove MobileMe and the Exchange account. But this time the problem continues to exist. I've worked around this in using IMAP for E-Mail and Exchange for Contacts/Appointments. However since we're using PostPath instead of "real" Exchange contacts won't sync anyway.
Since I don't want to restore my whole iPod once a day I will stay with the IMAP workaround and hope that this will be fixed in 2.0.1

  • Saving photos from other apps

Before iOS6, I would be able to hold my finger over a picture, hit 'Save photo' and it would be saved in camera roll or photos. Now, however, when I click 'Save photo,' the icon goes dark blue as if to accept my request, but blinks back to its neutral color (the grey color before clicking the icon) and disappears as it normally would after tapping. However, the photo is not saved anywhere. This seems to be the problem for the Facebook app, because I can save photos from online. Also, when I open a photo in the Facebook app, the photo itself quickly blinks before loading, and this wasn't happening before the iOS update. Anyone else noticing this issue/have recommendations?

Hold Home Button together with Sleep/Wake Button for 10 Sec. and wait for the Apple Logo to come out(very important) and open up facebook app and see if you can save pics again. because, i can do that normally on my iPad 3 running iOS 6.

  • Saving photos from Mail.app

Anyone else having an issue after upgrading to iOS 4.1 when saving a picture from the Mail.app it isn't viewable in the Photo.app?
I'll get some pictures (full-resolution) via mail, but when I use the "save images" feature in mail, it saves a lower resolution picture in Photos. On top of that, I'm unable to mail the punctures from the photo.app. Or send via mms. If I copy, it copies a low res version.

I noticed the same issue last weekend after updating to iOS4.1. The saved photos seem to lock up the camera roll and you have to go to a previous picture and then scroll to the newly saved picture to view it. It is saved in such a low resolution, it is not worth having.

  • Saving photos from face book

And the hits keep coming.. let's add another glitch to the 10 or so already. Is anyone having touch screen problems when saving a photo from the screen?  You could always hold your finger on pic and up jumps "save photo" prompt. Now IOS6/new 5 .. save photo doesn't work. Also the (apple) weather App is not responding either. Anyone?

You can't, likely your best solution is to use iPhoto to make each album into a slideshow.

  • Why has my new ipad stopped saving photos from Facebook?  Problem could have started when I downloaded the new OS.

Why has my new IPad stopped saving pictures from Facebook.  Worked originally and problem may have started when I downloaded OS 6.

You are correct that the behavior started when you installed iOS 6 - but as Chetan6518 explained - you now have to configure it in the settings.
Along with the suggestion above, there is also a Photos setting in Privacy and that gives access to approved apps for photos as well.
Last of all, make sure that you haven't set a photos restriction in Settings>General>Restrictions>Privacy>Photos
