Saving photos in LR3 for email

I am encountering a problem with Lightroom 3 in emailing some family photos. I shot the photos in RAW & JPG.  I initally processed the photos in LR3.  Later I went back and made some addiitonal touchup work with the adjustment tools.  I tried sending the files to email and sending a test email with three photos attached.  Everytime I do this, I get the older version of my photos, without the latest edits.  I even tried renaming the photos displayed in my library and sending the renamed files.  However, I continue to get the receive r version without the latest edits in my test email.
Obviously what I see on my screen has not been saved properly.  What can I do, to save the latest updated version?  I thought this was done automatically.

I mainly use a MAC and have the email function working, but on my Vista laptop All I can do is make the mail client (Program) start and nothing else!
But I think it helps if you understand the process.
Apply export settings to file
Export file with all adjustments and export settings
Do post processing actions e.g. show in explorer, open in other application etc
In the email export process, the first entry is the location where the exported files will be placed, for you, this is the most important. It is where your resized photos for email are exported too. If you change the last option to display in explorer, it will bring the explorer window up with your images for emailing.
From here you can choose which email program you want to use and drag the photos to that program or attach them to gmail, the explorer window is open so you will know the exact path to the images.
I haven't tried this http://lightroomers.com/emailing-from-lightroom-on-windows/19/ But it does seem to provide a solution for windows.
As to your other questions,
a program folder is the same as a data folder. It's just the folder where the program exists.
an email client is an email program
an alias on windows is known as a shortcut (Right click selected file in explorer, create Shortcut)

I have been saving photos that have been emailed to me on my ipad. They show up in the camera roll, but when I open the camera roll the thumbprints are jumbled and blurred and frozen. I can't get out of there unless I shut my ipad down and restart it. I can use other parts of my ipad ,but my camera roll remains frozen....help!

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

I too added 2nd apple ID when I tried to get Free app from apple store just to get to NONE on the credit card needed. It said it sent confirmation email to my new apple ID email that I have to confirm. Problem is I can not get to the new apple ID email account.  On my ipad it logs into my original email account and I see no where to log into another email account.  If I go to my laptop, the new apple ID I created does not let me log into email where apple said it was sent to.  It did not send to back up email account either.
Can I log into 2 email accounts on my ipad where it says mail at bottom?
Can I have 2 apple ids?
If I created a 2nd apple id to get to NONE on credit card needed, can't I log into it also on another laptop in gmail?
    (won't let me)
If I used my original apple id I created when I got my new ipad, it will not let me get free app without credit card, there is no where it says NONE needed. I am too new to apple to start with credit cards etc until I get use to it.

  • Photos wont resize for email

When I am sending a photo to an email address it no longer asks me to resize them. How do I turn that feature back on? I have tried sending photos via email and they are being returned to me due to the image being to large.

  • Problems with saving photos to iPhone from email

I received an email with a photo attachment... about 3MB file size. First of all, if I zoom all the way in to see more detail, the email application crashes. So if I am careful to not zoom ALL the way in, it's fine.
I have tried to save the image to the iPhone at least 5 times. The first time, nothing happened. I tried again, there was no downloaded photo IN the camera roll album, but the album preview was turned into the photo that I was trying to download. The third time I successfully downloaded the photo into the camera roll album, but it was the blurriest image I have ever seen. It was as if the album preview icon was enlarged to fit my iPhone screen. Horrible. I tried again, got the same result. Now, I'm back to the original problem. Image doesn't save, but the preview icon changes.
What is going on? This is really frustrating. I've read in other web forums that I am not the only one with poor image quality downloads. What's the point of saving a photo from an email if it's barely recognizable?

I've got the same thing, and so have many others. It's not you, it's the Firmware - still a lot of missing features and terrible bugs. Perhaps Apple will pull their fingers out in the new year and sort everything out once and for all.

  • Photo file sizes for emailing

    Greetings
I normally take photos at the highest resolution, making for some large file sizes.
I was wondering how or if its possible to email pictures taken from the camera as a smaller file size, without having to convert/crop/manipulate the picture so that we don't fill up anyone's inbox with 50megs of photos. Especially since we have some friends still on dial up.
This is basically for the wife, who just wants to take pics off the camera and send them to friends as easily as possible without sending huge emails to people.
    Hope I explained that properly.
    Thanks for any input.

Hi new2mac222: It is quite easy to do actually from within iPhoto. Select the photo(s), then select the eMail Icon. The first dialog box that pops up will allow you to select the size of the files to be sent. There is also a selection box in the bottom right corner of the new eMail dialog box.
Note: These instructions based on iPhoto '08, so yours may be slightly different.
    Hope this helps

  • Saved Photos from email attachments blurry in photos.app

I have two problems since upgrading to 2.0. When I view photo attachments from my email, the photos look perfectly clear. But when I save the photos to the photos application it looks completely blurry. I did a test by saving photos from safari and there was no problems. The only way to fix this is extract the photos from ipod and resync it using itunes. Also when i plug in the ipod to windows xp, i get autorun message saying "camera connected select program for this action" there was no option to take no action. It gets annoying. Appreciate any help for my problem.

ah, the old photo resolution bug. this was supposed to be fixed in one of the 2.X updates, some people found it fixed it, some people found it didn't.

  • Adding photos to Pages document becomes to big for email

    Hi all,
I want to use the Ipad with pages to make survey reports. But after adding pictures the document becomes to big for email.
Anyone know a way to solve this?
    Thanks!

1 - are you able to view full size in iPhoto the photos that give you that message when trying to add to Pages?
2 - are you using the Media Browser as Larry suggested?

  • Create new  folders for email and photos

how can i create new file folders for email and/or photos on the iPad 2?
and, will it also work on the iTouch?
ALSO, tried to install a wireless printer which looks for documents in the "documents" folder, but i can't save them there from email or anyplace else????
    Thank you for any help

If you are on iOS 5 and it's an IMAP based email account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of your current folders on your email account - if you aren't on iOS 5 or if the account is POP based then you won't get the Edit button.
Similarly for photos, if you are on iOS 5 then you should get an Edit button at the top right of the Album selection screen in the Photos app which allows you to create new albums and copy (not move) photos into - and if you delete the original photo then if will also be removed from all albums that you've 'copied' it into.
If the iPod Touch is also on iOS 5 then I think that you will get the same options (though I'm not 100% sure)

  • Ipad Photo - Making File Size Smaller for emailing

How does one make pics smaller (file size) for emailing?

The Photo Pad app allows you scale the photo. I just checked and it does also reduce the file size. You can email the scaled photo from the app.

With a web site, do not post high resolution images as the primary view of your products, that makes your site slower to load on lesser broadband connections, and more expensive to view on wireless connections.
For a web site, use lower-resolution and smaller images for the primary view, and use a web content management system that allows for (for instance) clicking on a photo to view a higher-resolution image, and/or a content management system that allows the user to access a higher-resolution gallery of images.
Default display of and mailing of larger and higher-resolution images chews up potentially very expensive data for folks on wireless connections, and usually won't be popular with mass-mailings.   Lower-resolution and smaller and even thumbnails with web links to higher-resolution images — which can incidentally also include tracker URLs, even in HTML-based mail — will consume less of the mobile recipient's cash, and will load and view much faster, or will load.  (On iOS, large messages will give the user the option to download the rest of a larger message, which means that most of your mail often won't even get viewed.)
Slow loads and large images can result in web connections get abandoned and mailing list clients drop off lists, too.  Thumbnails and text and simple HTML are better.
As for "a good size", run some of your own tests on lower-performing network links, and see how well your content management system and your mail works in these situations — you're probably not aiming for customers on dial-up though I still deal with folks that only have that available — but you're definitely not going to want to assume ginormous network bandwidth with your marketing.  One megabit per second (1 Mbps) "broadband" links — and slower — are still very common, after all.  Also test your HTML with a few different clients, as there are various differences in how (or how well) HTML is rendered in various mail programs — some HTML mail looks like junk in some common clients.
All of this stuff is fairly typical fodder for web and email marketing discussions, and not at all specific to OS X.

Try manually setting the permissions on your iPhoto Library folder and contents as follows:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
1 - Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
2 - When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
3 - Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
