Saving photos in the cloud

I would like to save some of my photos in the cloud.  What exactly do I need to do this?  How do I do this?  I am fairly new at this and would appreciate some help.  Thank you!

Hi, PixelPerfect,
For the full info, check out this article describing how to Manage and Sync Files with Creative Cloud.
For a summary, here's a slightly modified excerpt:
Save or sync files
To save or sync photos from your computer, do one of the following:
Copy, paste, or move photos to the Creative Cloud Files directory on your computer
In an app, choose File > Save or File > Save As and navigate to the Creative Cloud Files directory on your computer.
OR:  you can upload photos directly to the Creative Cloud Files page.
Upload and manage your photos on Creative Cloud using the Actions button on the Creative Cloud Files page.
There, drag and drop photos from your desktop to the Files page on Creative Cloud.
Hope this helps!

  • I have a new iPad air and all of my photos from the cloud are not showing up on my new iPad air. How do I get all my photos to show up?

Hi, I have a new iPad air, all of the photos from the cloud are not showing up. What do I need to do to get all my photos from the cloud onto my new iPad air? Thanks!!

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • I recently purchased icloud storage for my iPad Air.  I want to store photos in the cloud and learn how to retrieve them.  I need help.

I recently  purchased iCloud storage for my iPad Air so that I can store my photos in the cloud.  I don't know how to do this.  I want to be able to retrieve them as well.

    Hello Janet
With that iCloud storage that you purchased, is used for mainly for iCloud Backup for your iPad Air, app data as in games and documents for like iWork and other apps that save data locally within the app. Dealing with photos in your Photo Stream they actually do not count towards that storage plan. If you don’t think that the storage is going to work for you, then cancel the upgrade you just made.

  • I can't see my photos on the cloud

I can't see my photos on the cloud...I'm new so please excuse the question but i only see email, address book, calender, find my phone and work!  no icon for photos or iTunes.  What am i missing?

Aperture is an Apple product for photo managment. Compared to iPhoto0 bigger, more control, more editing, and more expensive.

  • HT4859 How do I retrieve my photos from the cloud after a reset. My photos are gone from my phone, and I backed them up on iCloud?

How do I retrieve my photos from the cloud after a reset. My photos are gone from my phone, and I backed them up on iCloud? when I restored it, no camera roll pictures?

Try restoring the backup again.  Sometimes it's successful the second time.  You could also try restoring an older backup.  iCloud will have your last 3 backups is you have sufficient storage space in your account.

    HI,
Have you done this before ? And if so, is photo stream turned on on your iphone and ipad. and as Alfred DeRose pointed out they must both on the same icloud account.
If you're new to this, you might want to do some research. Photo stream is different from camera roll and albums. Many have been on this sight looking for their photos stored in icloud after restore, etc. and they're not there. Also, after thirty days icloud deletes your photos from photo stream.
So if you're not aware, you might want to google your question. We're using the camera connection kit soon and I am learning about it. From all I've read, I'm also not the biggest icloud fan. I use dropbox. We plan to put photos taken on ipad with a camera/iphones into albums on the ipad. We'll keep all on the sd card until (and after) they can be uploaded to a computer.

    Hope this helps.

  • ICloud and iOS 8: How to store photos on the cloud only?

I Thought iCloud would make me save space on my devices by keeping my photos on the cloud. But it mirrors all photos on the cloud into my device (I know iOS can store lower resolutions of the photos, but they take a lot of your device's space anyway)! You should be able to pick which photos you want to keep localy (so you can access them even with no internet) and wich photos you want to keep only on the cloud. If you want to delete photos on your device to open some space... be careful, they will also be deleted from the cloud. There is no way to erase it only locally.
I bought the 200G plan so I can access ALL my photo library using the photos app in iOS 8.
But how am I supposed to upload my entire photo library (100G of photos) to iCloud and access them using Apple's Photos app?
If I get 100G of photos into iCloud, how my devices will access the photos if all my devices have only 32g and everything should be mirrored?
is there a way to keep photos only on the cloud and not on all your devices?
    I'm confused.
    Am I missing something?
    thanks.

Wait for iCloud Photo Library to be introduced later this year.  It should allow you to keep full resolution photos and videos in iCloud and access them from your devices without having to have them stored on your devices.  It will use your iCloud storage plan.

  • HT2335 My iphone 4S previously saved photos in the jpg format.  Suddenly it changed to the bmp format.  How do I change it back to jpg?

My iphone 4S previously saved photos in the jpg format.  Suddenly it changed to the bmp format.  How do I change it back to jpg?

Photos captured by the iPhone are saved in jpeg format. A screen capture is saved in png format.
There is no setting to change either one to be captured/saved in a different format.

  • My iPod touch 3rd gen. 32gb doesn't allow me to access my "Saved Photos" because the "Albums" banner covers it. This occurred with last week's update.

My iPod 3rd gen 32gb won't allow me to see my "Saved Photos" because the "Albums" banner covers it. This occurred with last week's update.

I've read that the only cure is opening the Multitaskbar by double clicking the home button, search for the photo app, tap on it until it starts to shake and hit the little "Minus-icon" in the left corner. Then close the bar again and try again to open the photo app.

  • When I place photos on the cloud to share with friends, the photo IDinformation I have entered with the photo does not transfer.  Is there a way to have the text follow the photo in the cloud?

When I place an Aperture photo on the cloud to share with friends, the idenfifcation information I have entered for the photo does not transfer to the cloud and thus my friends get only the photo.  Is there a setting I am missing that would allow the text to go along with the photograph?

The photo stream will transfer the EXIF information set by the camera and the filname/version name. Try to get any information you want to transfer into the filename by batch changing the filename with "write to master" enabled. Aloso, you can set a comment, when sharing the image to the Photo Stream.

  • TS3992 should I be able to see my photos on the cloud

Where are my photos on the cloud should I be able to see them.

No.  Photos are only stored in the cloud if you included them in a backup, in which case you can't view them, you can only restore them and everything else in the backup in case your device needs to be restored, OR when using photo stream, but that's not a storage or viewing service, but a syncing service to get pics from one device to another.  Now, there is "shared photo stream", and if this is what you have been doing, then google it and learn how it works.  Otherwise, icloud is not a photo service like flickr and others like it.

  • Does a move to Lightroom 5 force me to store my photos in the Cloud?

I am an Aperture user who wishes to move to Lightroom (and possibly Photoshop). I presently save all my photos to an external drive. Adobe has announced a tool to facilitate the migration to Lightroom 5 from Aperture. My impression is that it requires me to now store all my photos in the Cloud. I am uncomfortable with this from a privacy point of view and the expectation that the cost of storing tens of thousands of photos in the Cloud will be expensive.
Many of my photographer friends have previous versions of Lightroom and Photoshop which allow them to save their photos locally. They do not want to move to the Cloud.
Do I have to use the Cloud if I migrate to Lightroom 5?
If yes, do I have any other options?

    You need to upgrade to be able to use iCloud;
For a full support of all iCloud features see:  iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ
To use MyPhotoStream, you would at least need to upgrade to Lion:
What do I need to use My Photo Stream?

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Apple TV Software Update 5.0 or later

How do I get my stored photos from the cloud?

    If you mean Photoroll.
Then you should use the standard process of connecting your device to a computer.  It will be recognized as a camera and ask you to offload them.
If they are photos loaded from iTunes onto your phone (ie Albums), they cannot be removed this way.  You will need a 3rd party app such as Phototransfer.
    Cheers
