Saving polymorphic vi as single file

Is there a way to save polymorphic VIs as single files? As far as I understood, the polimprphic VI is somehow a list of "links" to the different instances. Is there a way to include the instances on the "main" vi, and maybe access them via the polymorphic VI window?
Thanks

Hi xdaf,
I usually solve this issue by this procedure:
- I have my user.lib files in a different folder (in my local user path) and only edit the palette to include the VIs I need (This way it's much easier to backup all of my VIs.)
- I usually only put the polymorphic VI into the user.lib. All the single instances are located in a different folder and thus not seen in the user palette.
Disadvantage of this scheme:
When I install a new LV version I have to setup my user palette content again. Well, it's just 5 folders in the user palette...

  • Acrobat Reader x 10.0 - Cannot open pdf as a single file

I am using Acrobat Reader x 10.0 on Win 7 64 bit OS.
I save Filemaker 11.0 Reports as PDF Individual Single Files, to a Folder on my Hard Drive.
On some occasions, I can have been able to open these Individual Reports files as a Single Files, each of about 540KB.
On many occasions, when I open what had been saved as a Individual Single File, the actual report saved does not appear on the page, but can be found down the left side, amongst other similar Files and the File size is 1855KB or more, depending how many other files are included.
My intent is to include an Individual Single File as an attachment to an email, but I do not want the recipient to see all the other individual files.
How can I ensure, when I save the Filemaker Individual Report as a PDF file, it can only open as the same Individual Single Report File that had been saved, on its own and not with multiple similar files.
This problem is a pain in the butt and has brought my project to a standstill.
Is this a Design Problem, A Settings Preferences Problem or a Problem caused by me.
I have not encountered this before.
Thank You and hoping someone has the answer I need.

After some persistance and much trial and error, I believe I have overcome this silly problem.
When I save the Filemaker Database Record as a pdf file and the Save As Panel pops up on the screen, there is a Save Box that contains three choices, one of which says "Current Record". When I choose this, everything seems to work fine. So, I guess this is the Fix.
Sorry if I have raised unneccessary concerns within the Forum.

  • Firefox saving double version of the same webpage in a single file

About one year back, I saved a webpage as webpage complete, that is, as a HTML file and a folder containing associated files. Recently I added mozilla archive format add-on. I revisited the webpage and it has changed a little bit, for example the picture in the heading and another picture in the body of the page. Now I saved this changed webpage as a single file, in MHT format. Now when I am opening the MHT file it is showing the previous version of the webpage, and at the top it is showing 'saved from: file:///G:/Document/Religion/filename'. When I move the file in another drive or folder firefox opens the changed version of the webpage and at the top 'Saved from: http://mukto-mona.com/bangla_blog/?p=28719, that is url of the webpage. When I move the file in G it again shows the old version. One word more, I downloaded all files and temporarily saved them in C drive. Later I moved them elsewhere. As you can see this above file I saved in G drive. I tried clearing cookies and histories of firefox and browsing history in Windows internet options. Problem is not going. I do not know whether it is a cookie problem, but I placed the question here.
Though I mentioned about a single saved file just for instance, actually the problem showing for several files. Thanks in advance.

  • How do i save STACKS of images (e.g. TIFF) as a SINGLE file in IMAQ?

I would like to save stacks of images (movies and time series) as single files (TIFF in particular) but i can only find support in IMAQ for saving single images to single files. Does anyone know how to save STACKS? (As far as i know that is a common feature in most frame grabbers).
I am using a PCI-1408 card for analog acquisition and NI-IMAQ driver in Windows 2000.

    Bernhard,
There are no utilities in IMAQ to save image sequences in a single file.
One possible solution, if you aren't trying to compress the images, is to extract the 2D array of pixel intensities and save them as a standard array. You would be able to store as many arrays as you want in a single file.
If you want to compress the images, there are utilities for creating AVI files. I have used a wavelet compression utility that I wrote LV drivers for, also. If you are willing to spend a little money, that might be a good solution. You can contact me at bruce@ammonsengineering if you want to discuss it further.

  • How to attach a single file in e-mail (Yosemite)?

When i am writing a new mail and i try to attach a single file that i have saved a minute ago from certain folder i cannot do that. When i click on the folder to open it and select the specific file to attach, the mail does not open the folder but automatically attach the whole folder to e-mail.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Hello dejanfromzagreb,
That is interesting that it is grabbing the entire folder. Have you tried switching the view within the Finder window to Column View to select the right file to attach? Another alternative is to locate the file in Finder and drag it op top of the Email that you are preparing to attach it. Take a look at the article below.

  • How can I convert a .pdf to a single file HTML file in Acrobat 9 Pro?

Of course it is. It sounds like what you want would be just a .jpg. Web pages are seldom ever just one file unless they are strictly text. More than likely you have some images (maybe even images of text) involved so you could never get one file.

  • Saving report output to a file on the server.

    Hi,
We are using BI Publisher Standalone version 10.1.3.3.1.
Is it possible to schedule a report to output to a file on the server?
I want the whole report to be saved as a file on the server.
This is somewhat similar to bursting to a file system, but, I don't want to split the output.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nanda

Yes, use the scheduler and schedule the report,
do the bursting into FTP or
schedule the report to run and run it into FTP as a single FILE.
First option, you need to provide the query , with FTP server name, username, password etcccc.

  • Necessary to save every single file automatically in Multitrack Mode?

    Using Adobe Audition 3:
Remember in Adobe Audition 1 where if you right-clicked on a wave file inside multitrack view and deleted it, it was in fact deleted?  Why did they go backwards and make it so that every single file recorded was saved automatically?
I record 6 separate inputs at the same time in my sessions.  Then, I send the XML file along with all the waves to my engineer where he opens it up in Nuendo and masters it.  The problem is, this ridiculous feature of saving EVERYTHING makes it so I have to go through all the waves that were deleted from the session and delete them from the session folder manually.  This is an unnecessary time vampire.
Think about it, if I have a mix of takes I deleted, and takes I left in the session both in the same folder... I have to delete the files I don't want from the folder before zipping it up with the session file to send off to the engineer.  I have to sort through them, or else I am sending both deleted and desired session files to my engineer (unnecessary upload time with extra useless files).
So, is there a way to get Adobe Audition 3 to delete the files I delete from within multitrack mode so I do not have to delete them manually after sessions?  It really creates this whole other workload of sifting through files to assemble my folder to be master-ready.
I personally cannot fathom why a program would be altered to save everything considering the option to delete it is present, yet the files can only be deleted manually.

    SoundCow wrote:
Why did they go backwards and make it so that every single file recorded was saved automatically?
Okay, background: They didn't go backwards at all - they went forwards in the way most people wanted. Previously, all files were written to a temp file, and only saved when you'd finished recording. This was an almightly PITA for several reasons, not the least of them being that a power failure at the wrong point meant that you lost everything. Also, it put very real limitations on what could happen when you stopped recording in a session - a restart couldn't happen until you'd saved the previous temp file.
So what happens now is direct-to-disk recording in Multitrack. Gets around all those problems completely.
But, if causes an 'opportunity' with takes. This problem with deleting unwanted ones has been around for a while, and is based on not trusting you to know exactly what you are doing! What it comes down to is that deleting takes has to be a deliberate action on your part, not a default option of deleting the previous one when you record over it, just in case you didn't realise that you really wanted it after all... And because they were already recorded as files, removing them from the multitrack display doesn't get them out of the Files pane, and doesn't get them off your drive either.
The only way around this that I'm aware of is to use MediaSweeper. Just make sure that you send Suite Spot a donation...

I would like to save webpages in format like *.mht as in case of IE. Pl let me know if this is possible? Page should be saved in single file only , its very convinient

People I make websites for often want to post stuff but don't want to get in HTML or web creation. Using iFrame with pdf files is one answer but being able to use MHT files would be better, saved from Word for example with images. But Firefox needs extensions for this to work. When is Firefox going to integrate MHT ability like Opera or Explorer?

  • Saving multiples objects into a file

I want to create a single file that has multiples things inside, like pictures (png) and texts. Does someone knows how it will be the structure of the binary file?
I'm programming a draw software like photoshop, where my layers are BufferedImages. Theses bufferedImages must be saved into a file to re-open later and edit.
    Please I want just ideas....
    thanks

If the objects that you store in your file are fairly independent of each other, one thing that comes
to mind is to make your file a zip file of component files. That way you can use standard tools to examine
it and edit it if you wish.
Another thing to note is that if your file is largely a series of images, some image file formats,
like tiff , jpeg and gif allow you to store sequences of images in one file.
Here's a demo that creates a tiff file holding four images, then reads the file and displays the images.
Stardard software like Kodak's "Imaging Preview" will allow you to flip through the images in the file.
By the way, if you don't have readers/writers for format tiff, you can get them here.

    Hi all,
I am trying to save some output to a text file from AppleScript. Based on some postings I've found, I've been trying variations on this where theSubjects has some formatted text in it.:
         tell application "TextEdit"
              activate
              make new document
set text of document 1 to theSubjects
              save document 1 in file (("/Users/karl/Desktop/") & "ListSubjects.rtf")
         end tell
The text makes it into TextEdit as I intended, but when the script tries to save the file, I'm getting "The document "Untitled" could not be saved as "/Users/karl/Desktop/ListSubjects.rtf". You don't have permission."
This error is consistent across all output directories that I have tried. I cannot find any sign that there are actual permissions issues.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Recover a single file in Content Services

I've been asked to document how we would go about recovering a single file in Content Services. The Trash/Archive angle I'm clear on, but what about an extreme case. Lets say that someone created a file, trashed it, emptied the trash, and then it expired from the Archive before the user realized that they needed the file.
Is it possible, and if so how would one go about getting the file back assuming that there is a full db backup once a day?
Would enabling BFILE aging help? If so, how?
On a related note: If archive is set to expire content after 1 month, but BFILE aging is turned off, when does deleted content get purged from the Archive? It's not 1 month, as I have deleted files in the Archive going back to January.

Archive expiration and BFile aging are orthogonal. BFile pushes the LOBs of documents that are in the archive to bfile. Archive expiration deletes files from the archive after the configured time. If this is not the behaviour you are seeing please file a TAR and they can help check whether your system is configured correctly or if you are running into a bug.

First check the version of the document with Jongware's script "Identify.jsx" (ExtendScript/JavaScript).
    You can find it here:
    [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File
If it is CS 5.5 or above, you need someone to open it in the version the script says and export an IDML representation from that. Another way would be to install a 30days version of CS6 or above (CC) and do it yourself.
In regards of the script showing a result for InDesign files higher than CS6:
    CS7 = CC v9
    CS8 = CC v10 = CC-2014 or CC2014.1
