Saving project as .pdf changes the colors in Pages '09

I have made a brochure and I want to use a royal blue on 2 of the 3 banners. In pages, it shows as royal blue but when I email the saved PDF version to myself, 2 of the 3 banners turn purple. I have tried to change the colour many different ways, it always looks ok in pages, but when I receive the email, the colours are off.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Ellen

is there a way to get a royal blue with those sliders or do I need to use something else? The closest I could get to royal blue was a slate blue.
Colourants (CMYK combinations) do not define colours except in the context of a particular ICC destination colour space; in ISO PDF/X-3 technically termed an OutputIntent.
It is correct that CMYK colourant format and an ICC source colour space of class PRTR Printer and colourant format CMYK can be chosen to create the colours.
In this case, the CMYK sliders are actually the user interface to CIELa*b D50 colour specification, since specifying colours in CIELa*b is unlike everyday language colour specification.
If the ICC PRTR source colour space, in this case Generic CMYK Profile, is other than the ICC PRTR destination colour space, the colourant combinations are converted to keep the colour appearance.
So what's the problem with specifying colours in CMYK? The problem is that CMYK colour spaces are very, very device dependent with lots of non-linearities in the graybalance.
If the system is used as it is set up by default, the source colour space will be the Generic RGB Profile which is an Apple Sony CRT calibrated to 6500 Kelvin and gamma 1.8 prior to OS X 10.6 and sRGB for OS X 10.6 and later. These colour spaces are linear.
However, these RGB MNTR Monitor colour spaces are too small to specify many colours that could have been formed by specifying in larger RGB MNTR Monitor source colour spaces before converting into the large colour spaces of inkjet printers.
Playing with 3D colour space comparison in the Apple ColorSync Utility can be helpful in learning periods.

It's probably the fields highlight color of the application, which you can change via Edit - Preferences - Forms.

What you're describing can't be achieved using the built-in comments summary function of Acrobat, but it can certainly be done if a custom-made script it used to generate the summary because then you're in full control of what's included in it and what's not.

  • How do I change the color of all the text in a PDF?

    Hi.
I have a large PDF, over 1000 pages. Some of the text is highlighted which makes it difficult to see on my preferred document background. In Acrobat XI how do I change the color of all the text in the document back to black please? Although solutions using any other software will be much appreciated too.
I searched this forum already, and the same question was asked back in 2007 when it appears the only solution was to use an expensive third party plugin.
    Thanks.

I know of no new solutions since 2007 except the ones you found.
You could use the Accessibility Preferences > Change Document Colors to choose a text color. However, this is an individual preference and cannot be set as a default for others opening the document.

  • Change the color of background in iDVD?

    Folks,
New to iDVD. Is there a method to change the color of the background in an iDVD theme? Or is the background really an "image"?
    Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I really can't do
what I want. I'm using the theme "Shelves" and wanted
to change the color of the walls to something other
than the brown that comes with the theme.
Are the images that make up the themes somewhere that
I can edit them with Photoshop or the like?
It depends on how familiar you are with working with OS X.
    Proceed at your own risk:
Library>Applications Support>iDVD>Themes>iDVD6 you will see several Shelves packages.
It's easy to examine the package contents - just Control click on the icon and select Show Package Contents. Warning -Do not edit anything in the packages!!!!!!!!
I would simply find the background image(s) I wanted and use the Copy command to create new versions in Photoshop. After adjusting and saving the copied images in Photoshop, I would simply drag and drop the adjusted/saved images in the theme background image well.
If you are more adventurious, you could modify the procedure covered in http://macdvdpro.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=67633
Do so at your own risk.

How can i change the color of the graph in agreement of the program's condition?
I am developing a VI to control the temperature of termistors, but i have another sensor too.
In a graph i have the situation of the termistors, but i want to change the color of the graph when the sensor is active.
    Thanks a lot

To change the color of the line itself, you can use the attribute Plot>>Plot Color.
To change the color of the points, you can use the attribute Cursor>>Cursor Color.
To select the color, you should have a color box constant inside the Numeric>>Additional Numeric Constants palette.
This is all in LV 7.0. I'm not sure how it similar it is in 5.1.
One important thing is to place the attribute node inside a case structure which will execute only when your condition has been filled.
If this didn't help you, I suggest you post the relevant piece of code, or at least an image of it (no BMPs, please).

  • Can you change the color of selected text in word?

I use Word 2010, and when I select text it is always blue, is there a way to change the color?

I use Word 2010, and when I select text it is always blue, is there a way to change the color?
My earlier posting was an error.
    I apologize.
You seem to be saying that the default colour for text is blue.
    You need to change:-
    Normal.dotm
     - to change the default colour of text.
In order to change the default colour of text take the following steps (that were tested on Windows 7 and Office 2007 - the process should be
similar, if not identical, for yourself):-
    1. Open a new blank document (this should
have the default text as blue).
Save that document with a new name for example:-
    c:\word\testing_aug_25_2014_2
    2. In the above document:-
    Insert tab
    Text group
Click on the drop down arrow to the lower right of:-
    Quick Parts
     - then click on:-
    Field . . .
    The:-
    Field
     - window should open.
    3. In the:-
    Field
     - window in the field called:-
    Field names:
     - scroll down to:-
    Template
     - and click on that option so that it's highlighted in blue.
Now, towards the top right hand corner of the same window, click in the box called:-
    Add path to file name
     - so that it has a tick (check mark) in that box.
    Click:-
    OK
The file name of the template should now be inserted into your document.
    On my machine this was:-
    C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm
The above path might be different for you.
    4. I saved my document at this point.
    5. Now open the file called:-
    C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm
A document should open on your screen (still with blue text) and with:-
    Normal.dotm
    - in the middle of the Title Bar at the top of the screen.
Highlight all of the text in the document so that it's (for example) black.
    Save the file.
    6. Close all open documents in WORD and
    close WORD itself.
    7. Now open a new document and its default
text should be set to the colour that you applied at step 5. above (I used black at that point).
    Does that resolve your problem?

  • Error when changing the color of the dashboard and exporting to PowerPoint

    Dear All,
I have been facing an issue with exporting my dashboard to PowerPoint.
I did a first version of the dashboard, exported to PowerPoint and sent to a client. All worked fine and the client could open and customize the dashboard. After that, I was asked to change the color of all lines and backgrounds of the dashboard, so that it would fit the product colors we are working with.
After this color change, the client cannot open the PowerPoint with the dashboard anymore because an error message appears saying that "Microsoft PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Some more details about the error are: AppName: powerpnt.exe; AppVer: 10.0.6842.0; ModName: ntdll.dll; ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180; Offset: 00010f29.
Any thoughts about what might be happening?
I'm working with Office 2007 and Xcelsius 2008 but I'm saving the ppt in the previous version because the client is working with Office 2003.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Vanessa

If you have the clip in your viewer window
to change the speed it is in themotion tab.
I also use the right click alot and run in to this problem.
You could just pull the clip to the end of your timeline,
    adjust the speed,
then place the clip back where you want it.
But that is not an efficent work flow

  • Is there a way to change the color of a linked eps or ai file in InDesign?

I have a questionaire form that I'm placing in several documents. I need it to be exactly the same in all instances except that it occurs in 4/c on some docs and 1/c (black) on others.
It'd be best to have all the Indesign files link to the same eps (or ai, or eps) file so that I know any change to the text of the linked questionaire will be reflected on all of the InDesign docs. But I don't think InDesign will let me change the color of the text and other filled or stoked elements of eps, ai, or pdf files.
I can change a these in a grayscale tif file. But rasterising the questionaire at a high dpi somewhat defeats the live update feature I'm trying to add here (and bloats my file size).
Could the fact that I can't change the document color mode to grayscale in AI be a factor here?
    Thank you for your time!

The only way I can think of is to use a Spot Colour in Illustrator.
You can then place that into InDesign and the Spot Colour should show up in the Swatches Panel.
In InDesign - create a New Swatch and have this be a Spot colour too.
Using the Swatches Panel flyout menu (top right) you can go Ink Manager...
From here you can Map the colour used in Illustrator to the colour you have creaeted in InDesign.
This will replace the colour in InDesign only - and results may vary on output.
You will need to use View>Overprint Preview to view the results.
    Hope that helps.

  • Changing the Color of an Object in Elements 4.0

Neither of the two methods documented in Elements 4.0 to change the color of an object seem to work on my object. It is a fleur-de-lis that I extracted from a PDF an artist made for me some time ago. It's now black and I want to make it gold. What am I doing wrong?

    Harold McDougal wrote:
The first is to select Enhance, Adjust Color, Change Color, select the color to be changed with the eye dropper and the color to change to in the bottom window. Then select okay. Okay. In my case, nothing happens.
The color replacement command doesn't work on pure black or white.
If the design is black over white, try using a solid color fill and one of the lighten blend modes.
    How?
Sample the gold color you want and have it as the foreground color chip.   Add a solid color adjustment layer over your  black and white design. The color should automatically be the foreground color in your tool box. Since should have changed this swatch to the desired shade of gold, it should be gold. Now, for the magic. If you change the blend mode of the solid color fill layer to "lighten", "screen", "linear dodge", or "lighter color", the black will be replaced by your gold.
Note: I'm not sure which if any of the Elements versions includes the "lighter color" blend mode so if you can't find that one...don't panic.

  • How do I change the color black

I will preface this by saying I am new to Photoshop.
The Problem? I have a family logo on a solid black background.  This is not a photograph.  I want to change the solid black background to a custom green color.  This sounds simple enough, but I cannot get Photoshop to change the black to green for me.  Here is what i have tried so far.
    1.  My file is a 16-bit RGB TIF file.  I have saved the file as a RAW file and a PSD file and neither of these work.  So I assume the problem is not the TIF format.
    2.  I have tried this.
Image -> Adjustments -> change color.
I can use the eyedropper to select the black (in the background) and the preview shows the black selected.
However, when I move the HUE slider below, the color stays black.  It does not change color.
If I type in the Hue Saturation and Lightness numbers for my color, the background will change, but it changes to gray, not my color.
    3.  I have tried this
        I set my background to the color I want.  (A custom color I created, of R:34  G: 139  B:34)
I click on  BrushTool  -> Color Replacement Tool
Settings on the horizontal tool bar are
Mode: color    Sampling: Once     Limits: Contiguous    Tolerance: 5%
I then click on the black background, but it stays black.  It does not change to the color I specified.
(I have also tried Discontiguous, different modes, different sampling, etc. Nothing works).
I will note that if I set my background to blue (R:0  G:0  B:255), then the Color Replacement Tool works.
It will change the black background to the basic blue color.
It just will not work for the custom green color that I created.
It also will not work for most of the other default colors in PHotoshop.
This is probably trivial for some of you, but I have spent a couple hours listening to tutorials on youtube and trying various things, and I am stuck.  Would appreciate your wisdom.

I would like to thank everyone for their kind suggestiosn and insights.  I will try your suggestions as learning exercises, since I am still very wet behind the ears on all this stuff and the more I can learn and know, the better.
Good news is that I was able to get my background to change from black to the green color that I wanted.  I utilized a two-step process that dawned on me after I responded to Curt Y's first post.  Realizing that I was able to change the black background to a blue on an earlier try (though it would not respond to my attempts to turn in to the green I wanted), I thought it might work to change the color twice - first to a color it would accept, and then from that color to the green i wanted. This process worked.  I probably would not have thought of this without the comment from Curt Y, who got me thinking outside my box.
Thanks again ... and I will try your suggestions because they will teach me new things and some of them are likely simpler than what I did.

  • How to change the color of text highlight

I'm trying to select and highlight certain text in the PDF. Here's my sample code. I want to change the color of the highlighted text. Something similar to what the Highlight Text tool does in acrobat.

We are using makit library, please note that we had tried the same with viz library also.
    Snippet from XML view:

Do you mean that you want to have different parts of the same line to appear in different colors?
When I move the chart to Pages it won't let me put the chart legend actually in the chart (which I need based on the APA guidelines).
Print the Chart to PDF and import the PDF to Pages, with the Legend wherever you want it.
Finally - any thoughts on how to adjust the X axis so that the first data point doesn't start right on the Y axis?
Set the Axis Minimum to some other value.
