Saving raw files for iMac transfer

I am in the process of cleaning out my Power Mac to make way for my new iMac, and I have a website created by iWeb.
Does anyone know if I can transfer the raw files or save them as an archive, to transfer onto my new Mac?

Yes - transfer your domain.sites file where all the info from iWeb is stored.
Find it under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Note, though that it is the User Library that you want and NOT your System Library - you won't find iWeb there.
Place your domain.sites file in the same location on your new Mac and you can then double click it and iWeb will open it - iWeb 08 domain files can still be opened with iWeb 09, but are not backward compatible.

i have a canon 70d and just purchased elements 12. It will not open a raw file for me. I have been advised to download the latest version of camera raw, i have done this and it still says my camera is not supported. I really need to open my raw files. Can anybody help me.

You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized.  The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12?  PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0.

  • Filter in adobe bridge to only select Raw files for DNG conversion

Here's my problem - I have a new DMC TZ70 camera and Lightroom 5.7 doesn't recognise the .RW2 files. I would need to buy LR6! Perhaps later.
So I thought I will import via bridge and convert to DNG.
So I open bridge and select the camera - fine - BUT there are files for the Raw images, the same number of JPEGs and some .bdm, .TDT etc files. (e.g. 3 raw + 7 others).
I can set up a filter to view only the Raw files when I see what files are there in the card folder in Bridge but when I select "get photos from camera" I can either select them all OR deselect and then I need to MANUALLY select the raw files. There doesn't seem to be a way of setting up a filter in the Downloader screen so that Bridge only selects the Raw files for conversion.
If I let it select all, Bridge converts the RW2 files to DNG but also brings in the jpgs and other files. I can delete these afterwards but this seems an inefficient way to do it.
Is there any way to manually select the raw files in the photo downloader screen?
    Advice please, thanks, Mel

Not sure I follow completely, Mel, but Bridge allows you  to View > Sort > Type... which would allow you, after sorting, to click on the first image with a specific extension, then hold down the Shift key to select the last in  the series and  handle them independent of the other files presented.

  • Raw files for nikon d810 not showing a picture in preview. Have  camera raw plug in 8.6.0.250 . File will open in raw but no picture ahead of time.

Raw files for Nikon D810 not showing a picture in preview for photoshop cs6 . Have camera raw plugin 8.6.0.250  File will open in ACR and process but no picture before opening raw file.

Are you referencing Apple's Preview application or the Preview panel in Bridge?  Huge difference.
Try purging the cache for the offending folder(s) through the Tools menu in Bridge.

See for yourself which version of ACR is needed for that camera’s RAW files
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
then check your version (Photoshop > About Plug-In > Camera Raw).
Your version of Photoshop does not support that version of ACR.
You could use the free DNG Converter.

  • Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new  Canon Sureshot S95

Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Adobe, please can you provide an update asap

    Hello!
I think that you need to be patient.
There has not been any release of Camera Raw since the release of the camera.
I recommend to try the next version once it will be released, as there might be preliminary support (and therefore not listed).
Usually, Adobe is amongs the firsts to support a new camera.
Even though the Camera Raw team is fielded with wonderful coders, I do not think that they do have a time machine to allow support before they have their hands on a camera

  • How fast does Apple produce new RAW files for new cameras? I want to buy a D7100 wich is not supported in the present version?

I'm interested in seeing who gets the D7100 support first? Apple or Adobe!! I will go with the one that gets it out first.
    FWIW,
Adobe keeps a quarterly release schedule for RAW updates. The current Lightroom 4.4 RC expires on 5/31/2013 which typically is an indication that the official release will be close to that date. According to the current list of new supported cameras, the Nikon D7100 is not slated to be supported (but that could change on release).
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom4-4/?tabID=details#tabTop
The most likely time frame for Adobe support of the D7100 will be sometime in August or September 2013 (although there will probably be a Lightroom 4.5 RC available prior to that for testing purposes).

  • Add option for lossless uncompressed RAW files for A7r

I'd like to see the option for lossless, uncompressed RAW files for those of us who want it vs. the current situation of only having the option of lossy compressed RAW files (which in some instances, can exhibit posterization). I think this is a logical option for a camera of the A7r's calibre. If this option can be incorporated via firmware update, all the better. If it's a hardware issue, hopefully this is addressed in the next iteration of the camera.

Honestly, this is pretty deceitful marketting on both the Sony A7 and A7R literature. both promote the use of 14 bit RAW encoding as a feature of the two sony cameras, however, they are really 11 bit + 7 bit compressed lossly RAW formats, delivering no where close to the same tonality of 14 bit true RAW. in no sony literature that i could find, is it mentioned that it's lossly. this is accurate?  Not even close.  14-bit RAW output for rich tonal gradation 14-bit RAW image data of extremely high quality is outputted by the a7. This data fully preserves the rich detail generated by the image sensor during the 14-bit A/D conversion process. When developed with Sony's Image Data Converter RAW development software, these images deliver the superb photographic expression and rich gradation that only 14-bit data can offer.  I was going to purchase two A7R bodies and move my canon gear over to Sony ..until really all this came out.  I'm hoping as well as the OP that a firmware upgrade comes out.

  • Lightroom 3 does NOT support raw files for the  Canon Sureshot S95

Have just bought the new Canon Sureshot S95
after contacting Adobe support I am told Lightroom 3 does NOT support raw files for the
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Come on Adobe.....please provide an update asap.

    (1) Well Boss I did what you said and used Canon DPP to convert to TIFFs. Choices are 8-bit TIFF or 16-bit TIFF - I chose 16-bit because part (90% part) of the reason for wanting to work in RAW is to keep the bit depth of teh original. On my EOS 40D it is supposedly 14 bits, which gives great scope to play with the levels & curves without seeing poster effects. If I choose 16 bit TIFF then each S95 image becomes a 70MB file, parallel to my JPEG and RAW.  Hardly a satisfactory solution.
(I realise, however, that I don't actually know the bit depth of the S95 RAW file - anybody? ).
    (2) SUGGESTION-  even if you are adding S95 support to the next update (which I dearly hope), be kinder to those with new cameras in general and allow LR to import JPEGs if it cannot import the RAWs (overriding if necessary the 'ignore JPEG' preference setting).  I am sure users with that preference would still prefer a JPEG than no picture at all!
Since I discovered this compatibility problem, I switched the camera to record RAW+JPEG*. To my great irritation LR3 ignores the JPEGs even though it cannot load the RAWs.  So if I want to import from one supported camera (EOS40D) and one unsupported camera (S95) I have to keep going into preferences to switch on and off the 'ignore JPEG' function.
    JJ
    *  (this seems to be a setting that needs doing in the various different modes of the camera, by the way).

  • Would like to purchase PSE 12 to process Camera Raw files for the following cameras: Nikon D800, Nikon DF, Canon G9 and Pentax K-3 does the Raw Converter that comes with  PSE 12 when purchased recognize  the cameras listed in the question or do I need to

Would like to purchase PSE 12 to process Camera Raw files for the following cameras: Nikon D800, Nikon DF, Canon G9 and Pentax K-3 does the Raw Converter that comes with  PSE 12 when purchased recognize  the cameras listed in the question or do I need to download  the camera Raw Version 8.3 ?

While the G9 RAW files can be read by Adobe Camera RAW and Lightroom, these file are unsupported at this time. Here is a link to Adobe's latest list of cameras that are supported and this list came out yesterday http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
I have not done a comparison between Lightroom and Canon's software but others have and say that Canon's software is clearly better. I am sure when Adobe updates their software again to include the G9 it will be a very good RAW converter as it is will most other cameras.

Did you buy PSE in the mac app store? If not, just go to Help>Updates in the editor and update camera raw and you should be able to open the raw files in PSE 12 directly without the DNG converter.

  • Read raw files for nikon d5200 camera

I have given up using raw files for several Nikon bodies such as the d5200 on Adobe software since Adobe no longer supports these files even with the updates that are supposed to support these files.  I can open the raw files fine using Nikon software to work on them and then save them as a tiff or jpeg to be used in photoshop, but this seems rather time consuming plus I lose the advantage of working on raw files in Photoshop.  You would think that a company like Adobe would make it easy to open raw files for all cameras.  Some bodies like the Nikon d300 raw files still work fine on Adobe software.

ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) versions are specific to different versions of Photoshop.
According to this link on Adobe's website regarding supported cameras
The Nikon 5200 required at least ACR 7.3, but you need Photoshop CS6 to run ACR 7.3 It won't work with older versions of Photoshop.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
You can download the latest version of DNG Converter and convert your 5200 files to DNGs that can then be opened in earlier versions of Photoshop.
Here is the link for Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.4
Here is the link for Mac: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh
The DNG Converter only works on folders of files, don't try to select an individual file to convert, Choose the FOLDER.

  • Does Aperture support NEF RAW files for the Nikon D810?

I am unable to open NEF RAW files for my new Nikon D810.  Are there any updates of suggestions.

Apple has not yet reverse-engineered a RAW update for the d810. I would suggest that you shoot RAW +JPEG with all your NEF images on the CF card and put your JPEG optimal fine images on the SD card in slot 2. Save your NEF images and CF cards until the Aperture 3.5.1 RAW update for the d810 finally is available. In the meantime, you will have JPEG optimal images on your SD cards that you can import and process in Aperture. Good Luck.
