Saving received email messages on POP3

Is anybody who knows how I can keep the received messages from a POP 3 account on the device after deleting them on server?
I would appreciate a response, as I think it is an important matter for the ones who want a direct access to the emails received, even after deleting them on server.

I suppose I could agree...but for one thing...the BB will always be limited in it's storage capacity and such...it's a mobile device after all.
For me, I use a full PC-based Outlook client as my "master repository" for everything...all email comes to it and it even auto-copies everything that arrives into a PST for permanent storage. That way, I can (via any device or interface) manage the Inbox to my needs (deleting from anywhere anything that is no longer "current") yet the items are permanently stored in that Outlook client regardless of what I may do elsewhere.

    I exactly don't know the code, but I can tell you the steps how to do it. If u find it useful
    Oracle built-ins like UTL_TCP exist that could make it possible to receive email completely inside a stored procedure
    1) Create a special email address on a convenient mail server.
    2) If the mail server isn't the same machine as the database server, use a program like GNU fetchmail that will pull the mail down to the local machine.
    3) Now that the mail data is available in a mail file on the local machine, use one of a variety of techniques to load the email data from the file into the database.

    Hmmm...I'd suggest a couple of things. First, a reboot:
    With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation.
    If that fails, then try resending your service books:

  • Receiving Email messages on Palm 650

    I am having trouble receiving email messages via XpressMail on my 650.  I have a hotmail account set up and it notify's me that I have a  new email but I cant seem to update my me account.  I looked on AT&T's website and below is what it instructed me to do.  Where is says, press the Menu Button, I am not seeing that on my phone.  I preformed a hard refresh last night to wipe the slate clean.   
    1.  when in account Inbox, press menu button
    2.  From the message menu, select receive. 
    3.  downloading will begin

    Hotmail is a web based email service and you will need to use the Blazer browser to access the msn home page and then get to your email. You cannot setup a hotmail email account on the device using the email app. You need a POP or IMAP account in order to setup an email account on the Treo, these are usually a fee for service account.

  • Receiving email messages using UMS: messages dropped?

    This is the situation: I've setup User Messaging Service (UMS) on SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.5.0) to receive messages on a certain email account. I've then implemented a small HttpServlet that uses the UMS API (based on the usermessagingsample-echo sample provided by Oracle) that registers itself with UMS as a listener for that email address upon server startup, and deployed that to WebLogic (10.3.5).
    Now consider the following scenario:
    1. Bring down the soa server
    2. Send an email to the email address
    3. Start up the soa server
    4. The email that was sent during the soa server down time is never delivered to the listening HttpServlet.
    5. After the soa server has started up completeley, send a second email to the email address
    6. The second email is delivered to the listening HttpServlet
    The problem here is number 4 in the list (obviously).

    A few things to note:
    1. Notice that very early on in the soa server startup process (starting at line 60 of soa server logfile) the email address is already checked by UMS, the email popped, and deleted. Before any listening app has had the chance to register itself as a listener (like my HttpServlet test app).
    2. Notice that the second email is delivered correctly (starting at line 290 of soa server logfile, the listening HttpServlet responds at line 326)
    3. I seem unable to successfully register a listener before the UMS initialization (using deployment order etc.)
    4. Calling the synchronous receive() method of the MessagingClient also doesn't seem to retrieve the missed message
    What am I missing here? How can I make sure that my app will receive *all* messages sent to an email address, also the ones that are sent during downtime?

  • Received Email Messages Not Showing

    I have a user who occasionally does not receive emails sent to him. When I started to investigate, I found that the emails are actually delivered to his inbox on the server but they never show up in the inbox on his laptop. The senders of the emails never get a failure notice since it was actually delivered. Worst of all, some times the messages do work. Note, this only happens with a handful of the users who send him emails. Sometimes they come through just fine. There doesn't seem to be a pattern that I can find. It's not a time of day, a means of sending (mac mail vs iPhone), a domain, etc.
    To try and resolve this, I have rebuilt the index file. I have rebuilt all of his email boxes. I have reconstructed his mailstore via the Server Admin tool. I have repaired permissions both on the server and the laptop. None of these actions has solved the problem.
    Anyone have a suggestion about how to proceed?

  • HELP ... Not receiving email messages from particular Yahoo Group

    Ever since the evening of 3/26 every member of my Yahoo Group with an email address from Comcast.net has not been able to reliably receive messages from the group. Out of over 40 emails since then, we've received 4 (2 on 4/1 and 2 this morning). There are no error messages involved, there are just no emails in our inboxes. Yahoo does not indicate that any of the messages have "bounced". The messages are not in my spam folder (in fact, the first Comcast "helper" i worked with had me turn off the spam filter in Comcast,net) Oddly, I (and the others) can receive messages from other Yahoo Groups that we are members of, just not ours: SoundOfNewEngland I was on the phone with Comcast for 2.5 HOURS on 4/3 and was basically told that since I could receive a test message from Comcast that the error must be with Yahoo!   After contacting Yahoo, I was told that since others in the group can receive the messages, that the error must be with Comcast. <sigh> The last email I got from Yahoo said that Comcast would need to add Yahoo info into the Comcast whitelist. I told this to a Comcast technician during a help chat on 4/5 ... and she told me to fill out this form: http://www.comcastsupport.com/sdcxuser/asp/comcast_blockedprovider.asp I did that even tho the issue is that the Yahoo Group's messages were being blocked and I didn't have an IP address for those, but I could provide the domain name:  yahoogroups.com I tried to put the info that Yahoo Groups gave me for the whitelist, but the description is limited to 1024 characters  Needless to say, I have not received a resonse from Comcast within 24 hours of posting the form  Here is the info from Yahoo!: "Since you have already reviewed your settings, and confirmed that the emails are not landing in your spam folder, you will need to follow up with your email provider again, since it appears that they are dropping emails from the group.   • Not receiving Email messages at night

    I have a wierd issue. During the day my Blackberry 8320 receives email but during the night(after I turn my router off - wifi) it stops receiving email. I thought that without my WiFi it would use the Mobile Network part and receive Email. As soon as i turn my router on in the AM, it starts receiving email. Any suggestions?

    It should continue to receive mail with the WiFi router off, as long as you have a signal with EDGE on teh device. Do you?
    Do you receive mail out and about while in other non-WiFi locations?
    With your router turned off (or your WiFi turned off, on the device)
    On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:

    There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
    Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:

    There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:

    The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
    Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:

    The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.

    I have been having a similar problem with email from PayPal.I am an Ebay and Etsy seller.  When I make a sale, I get one email from the auction site and another from PayPal.For the past month or so, MOST of the PayPal messages have not arrived in my Inbox.I'm SURE PayPal is sending the messages.  Your SPAM filters must be removing them.  They aren't making it into my Spam folder (which only receives 2-3 messages per MONTH).I can't believe that Comcast doesn't have a White List function to deal with this.

  • Received email message on my phone sent on Feb 12, 2005.

    Hi its really strange that yesterday i received  an email on my blackberry tour which was sent on feb 12, 2005.
    2nd mail i received on sat oct 16,2010 which was sent on nov 11 , 2009.
    I chked on my yahoomail account on my computer there was no such mail received yesterday but i have tht in my old emails.
    Is there something wrong with my phone tht its fetching old emails or is there any setting for that?

    There's no setting for it, you're just lucky.
    Actually, it's likely just some burp in the server which marked this message as new and the RIM push server pushed it to your device. It happens.
    A couple years ago, I had 600-800 six month old email sre-pushed to my device.
