Saving report generation word file to a previous version of word

hello everybody,
well, the problem is quite simple.
on the computer of my bench I have office 2007, when I save a report generation word file it saves it from the template to a word 2007 file. file which is unreadable from a word 2003.
Is there any option on the report generation toolkit that allow me to save this file to a previous version of word like we do when we do save As on Word 2007 ?

I don't really know the exactly answer to your question about an option to save to a previous versions of word. But you can program it because the Save Report to a File.vi accept both ".doc" and ".docx" extensions. If you use the ".docx" extension or just the file name without extension (in the File Dialog express vi, for example), you will open the document only with Microsoft Office 2007. If you use the ".doc" extension, you will open the document with Microsoft Office 2003 and with Microsoft Office 2007 (in compatibility mode).

After installing "LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office Version 1.1.3" on a computer without Microsoft Office I noticed that the Report Generation VI palette does not include the "Excel & Word" specific VI's, even though I have "Excel & Word" installed. Is there any way to "activate" those VI's without installing "Microsoft Office?" If the answer is no and I do install "Microsoft Office" will those VI's become available on the Report Generation VI palette? Or will a reinstall of the "LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office Version 1.1.3" be required?

OK any question? Install the specific Office version and if that doesn't change the registery keys that NI is depending on reinstall the LV Add-on. Of course NI, software tool-kits check registered software! Why install a "for Office" package that is unusable or (worse from a litigation point) includes functionality for unlicensed or pirated "Office" installations. Again- "*xx For (R) Office xx*" means they have gone through some licensing agreement.

Report Generation Toolkit files in incorrect location after installing deployment

TestStand 2010 SP1 + LabVIEW 2011 + Report Generation Tookit
After installing a deployment, the location of NI_Excel.lvclass is expected to be at ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\Excel\NI_Excel.lvclass (see attachment)
but the path of the file is located at ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
In the deployment image, under the target folder, the file is in ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
and the lvproj finds the file.
The lvproj in the installation finds the file in ...\VIs for <project name>\SupportVIs\data\NI_Excel.lvclass
Renaming the folder from data to Excel fixes this problem.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

I am facing the same issue when I create the TS deployment through utility using TS2012.I thought of adding the file to the Teststand workspace and give the destination in to supportVIs directory.But even tthat didn't worked as it was copying all excel vis in to two locations.
Even adding the Directory path in to TS search directory options to "\data folder" is not resolving the issue and LAbVIEW Vis are not able to locate it.

IPhoto turned most of my edited photos into black files without any previous versions

I discovered the issue when I tried to edit some photos and the edit screen only displayed noise. After trying the steps recommended here and rebuilding my library most of my edited photos were black... I tried to return them to their previous versions but there aren't any.
When I create a new library and import a single photo and then try to edit it the iPhoto edit screen still either displays an image with noise or a black one.
I really like iPhoto and hope this issue can be fixed!

This is really a puzzlement. The last test I can think of is it could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to test that premise:
Trouble Shooting Preferences
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
1 - close all applications.
2 - open your Home/Library folder and Option-drag (copy) the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
3 - select the contents of your Home/Library/Preferences folder and drag them into the Trash bin in the Dock. You will be asked to provide your Admin password.
4 - reboot.
5 - run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed
6 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
B - Open the Preferences folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace or Skip button.
D - reboot.
7 - If the problem is NOT fixed, drag the contents of the Preference folder on the Desktop into the Home/Library/Preference folder and replace the entire contents that were created by clicking on Replace.
8 - reboot.
Also do you have access to another Mac that you can test editing some of the photos you're having problems with here?
Here's another test: reformat the card in the camera or use another card, take some photos, import and edit. This could tell if there's a problem with the file itself due to a corrupted card format.

How do I download a video and convert it into an flv file? In previous versions, all I had to do was pick the resolution and it was done automaticlly. I use DVDFLICK to burn my downloaded videos to DVD.

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to easily download and convert videos into .flv files. I was then able to burn DVDs of theses downloaded videos using DVDFLICK. I'm now unable to do this using Firefox6.0.2?

May be it is the Resume feature.
System Preference > General > Number of recent items
Uncheck the box next to "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps".

Problem in saving report as .txt file through IE

We have a requirement to save the report generated as HTML as text file(.txt) in IE. The report generated shows properly on the page, but when saved as text file the records trucated or line feed is added into records and file is distored. If I open the report in Netscape and save it, no problem of line feed or truncatation. Can anyone tell me how to solve this.
We gave the following as query parameter to report server
desformat=html&destype=cache. If I use the other option desformat=delimited&CELLWRAPPER=,&destype=cache, the report is repeating the column name in all the records(rows).
Can anyone tell me urgently how to save the report (.CSV or delimited) in the text file.

Saving Report output to File

Hello,
I remember Portal(first version and WebDB prior to that)
perfectly saving a Report as File even if the Report output
spans multiple pages.
Now I am using the latest version of Portal and I am unable
to save the Report to file when the Report output paginates to
several pages.
It always saves the First Page of Report.
Please throw light through any form of Solution.

Urgent - Default path of saving reports when destype = file

Hi,
When I specify the destype = file, the generated report gets
saved in the daefult directory, i.e., the orant/bin.
Now, I want to save the file on a different machine.
I understand that I can do it by specifying the desname =
path/filename.
But I cannot do this, because I don't want to show the whole
path in the URL. Moreover, I cannot give it in teh cgicmd.dat,
because the filename is not static. I want to append a time
stamp etc. to the file name. Is there some way that I can
specify teh path in cgicmd.dat and the file name in the URL?
Or,
is there an environment variable or something where I can
specify the default path where the files should be generated?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried the following:
I did not specify the desname parameter in the cgicmd.dat file
and in the After Parameter Form trigger, I have done:
Begin
:desname := 'e:\Testing.html';
I gave a desname that is not dynamic, just to test. But this,
does not set the desname. The file is still saved in teh
Orant/Bin folder. (default folder).
If I specify some desname in the cgicmd.dat file, then the file
gets saved in that path. What I have specified in the After
Parameter Form trigger does not seem to reset it.
Note: The trigger is being fired, as other things that I am
doing in the same trigger are getting executed.
Please advise.

Append static Word file to end of 1000+ unique Word files

Are there any tools for combining documents in a batch? I'm automating the creation of over a thousand documents that should each get an appendix that can not be part of the original file. When I batch convert from .docx to .pdf I'd like the appendix to be included. Can I do this without creating all the unique pdfs and then individually Combining them with the second file?
I'm using Office XP, Word 2007 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.

Yes that's easy.
Create a new Action (file menu > Action Wizard > Create new..)
Start with = "A folder on my computer" or "Ask when started"
From the Pages category drag in an "Insert Pages" step into the sequence
Click the options icon
Choose the appendix
Set it to insert after the last page
Save To = "Same folder selected"
Start the action running on your folder of Word documents, and go get some lunch. It'll take a while.

Yes - there was an interval of days between the unsinstallation of the original BBL, when I was not using the Z10. I had resorted to using my 9810 and had re-established my BIS Account. Originally I was not aware that the Z10 caused my BIS Account to go away, so I returned to using the 9810,
Recently, I went back to reinstall the BBL and considered activating the Z10 again, however now I am unable to install BBL.
Do you know where I can find the Launch version of BBL? Perhaps reinstalling that will work?
Incidentally, I had unistalled BB Desktop 7 one time including all recommendations for a clean uninstall and did perform a system scan.
It may help to mention that I am running VISTA32 business in case that is germain.

How to use the Report Generation Toolkit to get a list of bookmarks in a Word Template

I am working on a project where I will need to use the Report Generation Toolkit to fill out a fairly long Word Template. The MS Office Report Express VI can only have inputs for a maximum of 17 bookmarks which is not nearly enough for what I am needing to do.
I'm wondering if there is some way to use the lower level report generation VIs to read the word template and return a list of the bookmark names as a 1d array of string. The dialog box that you use to set up the Express VI has this capability but I'm not finding a way to scan the document programatically.
I'm sure I can't be the first person to run into this issue and I'm hoping that someone out there has found a good solution.

Wordsub.llb should be somewhere in your Labview folder on your local drive. The path to it in my install is: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb
Also what specific problem are you referring to about 17 bookmarks? Is that the limit on the express style VI for filling them in from LV? If so what you will need to do is to use the lower level function 'Word Insert Field' under Word Advanced VIs. You will need to supply the VI the name of the bookmark and the text you want to insert.

Illustrator CC 2014 files saved as previous versions corrupt

On occasion we need to save Illustrator files as version 8.0 ai files and version 3.0 eps for customers with older software and to import into industry specific software for further work (CAD).
Illustrator CS6 works fine for these tasks. Using CC 2014 the save files are corrupt:
The file saves normally, no errors indicated. Trying to reopen the saved files results in the dialog above. The CC 2014 files reopen fine, the corruption happens to the files saved in previous versions. The files are fairly simple structural designs for the box industry, all basically straight lines, no placed graphics, minimal text for labels.
