Saving Rules Automatically

Hey all. We're trying to figure out a way we can automate backing up users outlook info. With Connector and our imap server, all the email, calendar, contact info is saved, which is great. But, we're having a problem trying to figure out how to save the rules.
We can do it manually by just exporting the rules set to a rwz file, but our goofy users will never remeber to do this. Any way we can automate this?

I looked into this for ages (prob still have some of my questions about it in this thread and on MS groups). The short answer is no. MS also told me no. However rules appear to be saved as small files (like ad aa ab) under the profile but they are fickle if you try using that to migrate them.
I wanted to use rules for things like getting sent items to be stored in a PST verses on the IMAP server but ended up using Com Add-Ins as they can be deployed are stable etc. Still www.slipstick.com seemed to have the best info on this but nothing I could use.

Document saved(no automatic clearing) during VF11

Hi experts,
I cancelled an invoice document through VF11. Cancellation invoice was also created, but when i save this, i get the message
"Document xxxxxxxxx saved(no automatic clearing)".
Note:Invoice is of zero value.
This doesnt financially affect but i want to know why this message appears in green while saving. its not normal.
I have already searched the forums. but doesnt help relating to this. its either related to value invoices or other issues to cancellation.

Hi Preethi,
This error occurs when the original invoice A that has been cancelled has its accounting "cleared".
By cancelling the Invoice A with new cancelled invoice as B, system does not automatically reverse the accounting entries.
You need to get the accounting reversed manually for which the payment is already recieved.

Why it has been delete saved notes automatically?

Twice a time I saved lots of my important notes in notes app but twice a time I has been deleted automatically which is not good for to do work

you took the saved draft, changed adressee and sent it. This is the same draft, altered and then sent.
If you want a fix for what is not a problem you would need to define an exception in outlook where mails sent to you collegue do not account as email but as drafts only.
How will the coputer know you sent that email for review purposes if it is sent just like any other email ?
A shared folder for such drafts which your coworker can access, either on your outlook folder and with him having permissions set to log in and view or in a separate folder, can fix that.
You can as well make a new folder in outlook and set up the rule that every email forwarded to a specific adress (and possibly with a keyword in its header) goes in this folder as well, call the folder "drafts in review" or alike.
Response to this draft coming from defined email addies can go into another folder called "review drafts", if approved your collegue can use the word in the subject line and you can set up yet another folder for reviewed email drafts and another rule in outlook to receive such emails in that folder.

Saving Records Automatically in Form Builder 6i

Hi Folks,
I have a master detail form consisting of one master and two details data blocks. The second data block which is also the detail block consists of a field which is populated via a sequence number. Whenever the user clicks on the insert record button a new sequence number is displayed and then the user navigates to the third data block and inserts records etc. Before navigating to the third data block the user has to manually save the record using the save record button and if he does not save the record then the corresponding third detail data block records are not saved as the primary key record which is the sequence number is not manually saved. I want that the users should not manually save the records and every time they fill the fields the records should be saved automatically whenever the mouse navigates to the next data block. I have tried using the commit form built in at the data block level but it does not work.
Any ideas??

The simplest solution would be to do the following:
Create WHEN NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger on the 3rd_Block with the following code:

Scheduling a BW report and saving it automatically

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to schedule a BW report and save its results as .csv or .xls in either a shared network drive or the bw application server.

How to populate OIM Rules automatically ?

Hello experts,
We have a requirement to populate set of values from a flat file to OIM Rule in 11g. Is there any API to do that operation ?
Consider flat file has some 100 records of "jobCode" as follows

We need to create a single OIM rule called "Rule for X" which should have following OR conditions
jobCode == 123
jobCode == 456
jobCode == 789
jobCode == .....
jobCode == .....

In my 5+ years of working with OIM, never have we decided to use APIs to create rules, or access policies. These should be defined items within your system, and not generated on the fly. Each policy will need the appropriate test cases in place to your functionality all works, so it's not like you would be created a new policy without ever testing it.
What we have done is created XML templates during our development process that we knew would be duplicated, so we had a script that would generate a new xml file with the new information provided. You need to look at what pieces are common across your policies and create your templates around these. Then provide the input for the others. For example, if you know you have multiple child table entries in your policy, you need to make sure you generate the section of the XML file for each new entry. You will probably need different templates for different objects because they will have different field names within your xml file for the process form they are tied to.
Another option, within 11g, is to use the connector lifecycle functionality and define a new xml file as a connector, and then test using the clone piece to generate a new xml with new objects in it. I've never tried this for access policies, but it works for resource workflows.
You're going to have to be creating and think about what solution works best for you. You'll need to play around with the code and figure out which one you can do and manage.

1 Mail Rule automatically turns off upon launching Mail

I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.4) from Tiger. I moved the "Mail" & "Mail Downloads" folders, as well as the "com.apple.mail.plist" preference file, from the old system into the new one in the appropriate user folder. I also rebuilt all the mailboxes once this was done. So far, everything's there and functioning great with one exception.
The problem I am having is that every time I launch Mail, there is 1 mail rule which is turned off upon launching, forcing me to manually turn it on. It stays on until I quit the program, and the next time I launch it's off again.
I use about 25 rules total, and none of the other rules display this behavior.
Am I missing something obvious here?

I have exactly the same problem. I have moved from a G5 with Leopard to a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard. I have about 8 rules, one of which turns off after I quit and then launch again. I have tried to recreate that rule manually and it still occurs. I think I'm going to fill out a bug report.

How to add sender to a rule automatically?

I receive a lot of emails from new clients. Each client contacts me through a specific domain name e.g. @domain1.com; @domain2.com etc. I'd like to be able to assign the sender to a rule that would sort them into the correct folder based on the domain they send their email to.
i.e. [email protected] sends an email to [email protected]
Mail then adds [email protected] to a rule that sorts all future messages from this address to the folder "Email from Domain1"
I'm guessing this is not possible on Yosemite, if not, could you point me in the right direction? Setting up rules is consuming my life!

Yes, but... I have about 2 dozen public IP addresses to manage, I can't use NAT, the firewall needs to be transparent. All the vendors start saying "Yes, we can..." and fail in the details.
If you have a suggestion about an external firewall who transparently lets the ip addresses untouched... I'll be happy to hear it.

Saved photos automatically deleted off iPod Touch

Hi,
I'm having trouble restoring my photos on my iPod Touch. Recently when saving pictures off Safari, my iPod told me to fix up something in my Photos folder. So when I went to my Photos folder, it said 'rebuilding library'. It always happens when I mass save many pictures at once but it never deletes anything off my iPod. But when since this happened, I can't save any new pictures especially high quality ones more like 1000x1000 in size. Also, it deleted 200+ pictures off my Saved Photos folder.
In addition, my iTunes says I have 2564 pictures on my iPod, when really I only have 2333. How can I get those deleted pictures back? I've synced it with my laptop but I can't get them back onto my iPod. Also, I'm worried that restoring my iPod will make matters worse.

Windows Firewall Rules - Automatically Added by Sharepoint

I do have two WFE 's and 1 APP server . When i checked the inbound firewall rules of WFE1 and WFE 2 i can see
Sharepoint Search 16500,16501,.... Allowed
Sharepoint Web Services 32843,32844,... Allowed
SPUserCodeV4 32846 allowed
When i checked the APP Server , these are not added .
Can somebody let me know even though all have been created the same way only in the App Server this is not added?

Saving documents automatically

Is there a way to save documents automatically? Maybe after 5 or 10 minutes?

Pages won't do it out of the box, but one of the users of this discussion group has written an AppleScript to do just that. You can download it from his iDisk. I think the file is called autosave_pages.zip or something like that.

Automate settlement rule

How to configure the settlement rules to be automatically created when a new project is saved such as for the AUC settlement or Requesting Cost Center?

Automatic settlement rule work for the projects where object class is other than INVESTMENT.
You have to configure in SPRO IMG->>>PS->>>Costs->>>Automatic and Periodic Allocations->>> Settlement->>> Settlement Rule for WBSE ->>> Determine Strategy for Settlement Rule.
Here you can mention your default settlement receiver as requesting cost center / responsible cost center or you can enter a settlement rule for level 1 WBS element and then copy this to all lower levels.
Assign this to Project profile in OPSA transaction under the controlling area tab Settmt rule strat. field.
Then you have to execute the transaction CJB1 / CJB2 for generating the settlement rule automatically to all the WBS elements.

Incase of INVESTMENT object class projects, the settlement rule is automatically created by the system when you execute the settlement for project first time, the receiver will be the respective AUC.

Automatic settlement rule for receiver 'Fixed asset' (with out IM)

Hi Experts
I am working with project settlement to a fixed asset.
I have defined a selttlement profile in which, FXA is the only valid receiver.
Please note that we do not use Investment managent and hence no automatic AUC.The predefined asset to be used for settlement.
In this situation i am unable to generate settlement rule automatically as like the case with CTR.
The below message is experienced.
"Enter a distribution rule for Asset without a validity limit"
However i have manually maintained the settlement rule with specification of appropriate asset as receiver and settled.
In this scenario, how to ensure that the settlement rule is automatically generated, any where can we refer the fixed asset?

Hi,
Settlement rule cannot be automatically maintsined, you have to maintain manually, for example if you want to settle to fixed asset, how the system know to which fixed asset it should settle. You have to maintain settlement parameter manually.

Error while saving Reward rule version

Hi When trying to save reward rule after creaion of rule version , error while saving rule version U-00000062 001 , contact technical support. I have attached document below. Kindly advice what needs to be done.

This error is occurring in our development environment as well. Production is fine.
I had the users get out of the system last night and I tried restarting services and eventually restarting each server but nothing has cleared the error yet.
