Saving scheduled report to a file, automatically?

We have a couple of reports that run on scheduler and get e-mailed out to users.
However, we also want to save the reports, when they run on scheduler, to a drive on the network (this is easily mappable). Right now we do this manually but would like done automatically.
What is the mechanism?
All helpful answers will be marked.
Thanks.

If you are already bursting your reports using scheduling option then you can add to your bursting criteria
a UNION with the SQL that provides all the information to deliver it TO a FILE.

  • Saving scheduled report in a Sharepoint document library

I am trying to schedule a crystal report through Infoview and I want the resulting report saved in a Sharepoint document library. Is this possible? I am using BOE 11.5

    Hi Maureen;
it is not possible...Because sharepoint document library is a virtual directory. You only save your files to real directories.
You must use SharePoint Integration Kit.

    with regards
    Ganesh.

    Hello Ganesh,
When you export the file from SAP to your PC, select "unconverted" radio button.  Enter a file name and path, then save it with a text file (.txt) extension.  Then do the following steps on your PC.
      1.  Open the Excel application.
      2.  Open the text file in the application.  The system will automatically open the text import wizard.
      3.  Select "Fixed Width", then press next pushbutton.
      4.  After you parse the columns, press next pushbutton.
      5.  Go to the column where you want to keep leading zeros.  Select "Text" in the "Column data format" box.

  • Saving a report generated pdf file on to report server

    Hi,
This is a question regarding web access of Oracle Reports.
I am generating a report through web by typing an url like this: http://chfux102.ems.allied.com:8100/cgi/oreports/run?chflims+destype=file+desname=./section1.pdf+report=COA_PF.rdf+desformat=pdf+v_delivery_num=80063329+v_delivery_item_num=10+v_me rge=32386+v_feeder=32386+v_cm_id=1890
I am doing this since I want the report to be saved on the report server as a pdf file(section1.pdf). However this is generating an error.
Is there anything wrong in the parameters I am passing? Please let me know if you have inputs on this.
Also let me know where can I get some tutorial regarding web access of Oracle Reports..
    Thanks

    Hi,
You may scan by using the HP ePrint Home and Biz app.
Below you may find the steps to get the App:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02775166&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3795314&tmp...
Set the scan as Document and it will be saved as PDF.
You may also share the scanned files from the app.
Click the Help (?) icon at the top and you will find the steps to share and access the files from your computer under the Transferring Files Wirelessly section.

    Please suggest the solution..
    Thanks in advance

Usually this is due to wrong fieldcatalog, or inconsistenecy between field catalog, internal table or some fields of the layout (bselect box or lights for example) -> The FIRST thing to do is the execution of [The Consistency Check|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/d6/23253963143e6ae10000000a11402f/frameset.htm], then correct the program to adjust field catalog or layout.

  • Saving XL Reports to Excel file problem

    Dear Experts,
I have generated a report with XL Reporter, and I save it to disk. However, when I open up the Excel file in another PC that does not have SAP Business One and XL Reporter installed.
The Excel file content was not displayed, all that was shown are the XL Reporter formulae..etc.
How can I save the Excel file to disk so that I can display the file properly (with report values, not xlreporter formula) in a PC with no XL Reporter installed?
    Warmest Regards,
    Chinho

    Hi
We had a problem with reports generated in Excel 2003 and being viewed in Excel 2007. There is a file excel.exe.config which needs to be dropped into: \Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12 on the machines that need to view the spreadsheets.
I cannot remember where this file came from but it may cure your problem. It must be on the SAP site somewhere.
    Hope this helps.

  • Saving list/report as local file - NAME OF DIRECTORY

    Hi Folks
    Maybe a strange questio!
But when I want to save a list to my workstation, I use the menu:
    System->list->save->local file.
    Then I suggest unconverted.
And then the pop-up ask me for the filename. No problem.
But from where does this POP-UP get the name of the directory where to save the file?? I would like to change this default to another value than the suggested!!
    Best regards
    Carsten

    hi,
There is another way of changing the path name which you get. I found it to be simple.
Create a shortcut to the server, then it asks for<b>Working directory path</b>, there will be a default path name which we see everytime.
We can change this pathname as we require. Then we can get this newpath when we click list->save->local file -> unconverted->ok.

    Hi Ramesh,
you have to Login into the SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com. But you need a S-User to do so.
You can request your S-User on the top right of the Website.

  • Scheduled report subscription only writes file once

Early in our SCCM 2012 roll out we want regular updates how many machines are active.
We have configured a Report Subscription to save the report as an XLS file on a file share - Daily schedule for 08:00AM - the first file was forced at 11:23AM on 17/09/2013 and the daily updates were not generated though the schedule ran and reported the
    failure.
The subscription writes one file to the share at first scheduled time and at next scheduled time reports "Failure writing file \\Server\share\reports\file.xls : a log on error occurred when attempting to access the file share. The user account or password
    is not valid"
To confirm username and password I logged on to a Win7 workstation with those credentials. I then browsed to the reports directory on the share and created a new blank file. THis confirmed credentials are correct and the user has permissions to write new
    files to the share.
By changing something about the subscription delivery (e.g. overwrite files or increment file names or changing the file name) the next schedule will write the file. I am forcing the re-try by changing the schedule time and receiving the above error.
The original schedule was Daily and changing the time to get it to re-run today caused the failure. When I changed the schedule to Hourly (every 5 minutes) and changed the file name the report ran every 5 minutes successfully. I have reverted to the Daily
schedule ans set it to run at 7am so we'll see next week whether this has resolved the problem
It is clear that the message is not accurately describing the problem.
    Anthony

    Hi,
    Windows File Share Delivery Options
There are three options for overwriting. The second option-Do not overwrite an existing file-demonstrates that
if the report file already exists, no action will be taken.
Overwrite   an existing file with a newer version
If   the report file already exists, it will be overwritten with the new version.
Do   not overwrite an existing file
If   the report file already exists, no action will be taken.
Increment   file names as newer versions are added
If   the report file already exists, the new report will have a number added to   the file name to distinguish it from other versions.

  • Automate a BI report to flat file on to a FTP server.

    Hello all,
I have an same issue like the following thread. After extract CSV file successfully to the directory, but unable to find the file. Any thought?
Automate a BI report to flat file on to a FTP server.
    Regards!

Need to analyze the business purpose ,however heres my take on it..
You can utilize 3 options to export query result on to the SAP directories as below and map that path to your FTP server.
    1. Transaction RSCRM_BAPI (still valid in nw2004s)
    2. Transaction RSANWB (analytical Process designer)
    3. Information Broadcasting - KM folder has to be mapped as a file system location.
    Hope it Helps

  • How to modify 'Specified File Name' of a scheduled report

I run a daily scheduled report every morning and send it out as an emailed attachment. My problem is, I want the file name of the pdf attachment to include the previous day's date. How can I modify the 'Specified File Name' setting in the destination tab to reflect the previous day's date. I do not want to use %SI_STARTTIME% because that only shows the date&time that the report was actually run....I need the previous date. So far I am unsuccessful.
    Thanks

    Hi,
i think this is only possible via the SDK. I would recommend creating a Support Message with SAP to solve this issue.
Maybe there is already Samplecode available from the Support.

  • [CRS2008] Scheduling a report to multiple file output in single schedule

    Hi,
Is there any way in CRS2008 / Infoview to scheduling one report to multiple file output in one schedule?
i thought maybe it can, but still not found the way.
    Says,
I have one report say "Report by Branch.rpt", the parameter prompt is BranchCode.
I want to generate the "Report by Branch.rpt" for every BranchCode in separate output generate file. Like, "Report by Branch.rpt" for BranchCode A, or "Report by Branch.rpt" for BranchCode B.
So, if i run the schedule, it will generate several report based on the report parameter given.
    Hope, would find the way.
    Thanks in advance.

For anyone still looking, the job can be seen under the Job History option on the home screen, but not on the Job History option under the report in the catalog - i am assuming this is becasue somehow im not referencing the report correctly in the ScheduleReport request message.
Also, the jobId returned is a parent jobId, which when used to poll the job status, always returns a 'Scheduled' status. Im now adding 1 to this ID to get the status of my job - this returns the correct status of 'Success'.
Still hoping someone has an idea on the getDocumentData question...?
    Thanks.
