Saving Signatures

I am creating a document that can be signed using a Topaz graphic pad in Adobe Reader. I would prefer though that it not automatically save over the original document after being signed as the document will be used for multiple different signatures. Is this possible?  Thanks!

We are also trying to do the same if anybody has any information on this it would be very helpful thanks.

  • Mail not saving signatures

I just added two new email accounts.
When I add the signatures for these accounts it adds them just fine, they show up in the right header signature box, everything works just fine...until I close mail.
When i reopen the signatures are still in the 'all signatures' que but deleted from the specified associated accounts.

    Okay ...
Did you trey to delete a NEW account you created an recreate it again an assigning the signature again to that account.

  • Saving signature in the profile...

Shoudn't there be an option to save your signature in the profile ? If someone writes his name and blog URL in the signature, he has to type or copy/paste it for every post he replies to. This is a very basic thing and present in almost all the forums.
    What you guys think ?
PS: Another stupidity, while adding tags you need to seperate multiple tags by "space" and join by an "underscore" if you want to combine two words. Its funny really. Why not simple comma as everywhere else on all the forums, blogs etc...

  • Are accessible multiple signatures in Acrobat XI Pro possible?

I'd like to access two saved signatures in Acrobat XI Pro but I haven't found an easy way to do it in order to use them for signing documents. Is this possible? If so, how? If I haven't created a digital ID or a digital certificate are my signatures considered digital signatures?

I am not sure what you mean by "access saved signatures." My guess is you've used a stamp or some other method of adding what is essentially a picture of your signature.
Anyway, to sign with a real digital signature you need to create a Digital ID. That kind of sig allows you to create a signature appearance and certificate that you can reuse. You'll also be able to review and control changes to the document over time.
Alternatively, you can use the EchoSign service which also has a host of useful features.

  • Cannot draw signature box in Acrobat XI

When we try to sign a PDF using Acrobat XI Standard we get the popup box below telling us to create a box for the signature to appear in. The problem here is that is exactly what we are trying to do when this box comes up. We click the signature tool and get the cross-hairs cursor...as soon as we click to hold in the document this box appears and doesn't give us a chance to drag an create the box.
We have verified the digial ID to sign with is installed correctly.
    Please see the screenshot below:
    Thanks for any help,

In Acrobat XI you go to Sign->I Need to Sign->Place Signature. Then in the "Place Signature" dialog you select "Use image" and browse to your JPG file. Acrobat XI will remember your JPG signature file for the next time you sign. Yoo can clear the saved signature and select another one if you want.

  • Multiple Electronic Signatures

I have just upgraded from Adobe 9 Professional to Adobe 11 Professional.  Although I have saved several signature appearances, I am unable to chose which one to insert when signing documents.  Is there a way to do this without having to "change" or "clear" my saved signature?  Please help!  Thanks!
    -Patty

Yes, that's an e-signature. An option if you need to set up multiple e-signatures is to use stamps. They can be flattened individually, which converts them to regular page contents. The Acrobat help has more information on using stamps and you can use the following free JavaScript-based utility to flatten them after they're applied if you want: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Hyperlinks lost inserting a signature

Hi, I have the following issue: I convert a Word document containing both Hyperlinks and web addresses using Acrobat Pro XI. All links are preserved but when I try to insert a sign using an external image, the address are preserved and the hyperlinks lost.
The are the steps from the converted document:
    - From sign menu - Place signature - Change saved signature - Use an image - Browse the image - Accept
    - I placed the image on the document (in this moment all the links are there)
    - I save the document (websites are there but hyperlinks are missing, they are as normal text)
    This is before to sign
This is after signing and saving
Thank you for help on it

    Hi, nobody can help?

  • Adobe XI when i use signature option i try to use rectangle, it gives option of certificate signature, does not give me webcam or digital signature or any other option to sign

when i use signature option i try to use rectangle, it gives option of certificate signature, does not give me webcam or digital signature or any other option to sign, have downgraded to Adobe X, no options show. Have upgraded back to XI no change. Free software I am using currently.

There are two types of signatures in PDF: electronic signatures, which are just images (stamps, text, image) and digital signatures.
If you want to use electronic signatures in Acrobat XI go to Fill&Sign->Place Signature. If a drag rectangle for the digital signature dialog comes up, you have selected digital signatures and Acrobat/Reader remembered it. Cancel it, go back to Fill&Sign->Place Signature and click a triangle to the left of "Place Signature". Then click on "Changed Saved Signature" and select the electronic signature type you want to use.
If you want to use digital signatures you can create custom digital signature appearance. Go to Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Creation&Appearance->More. In the "Appearances" section click "New". You will be presented with the dialog that allows you to create a custom appearance. If you want to put there your picture or image of your ink signature, you need to prepare this image as a file beforehand, select "Image" radio button, browse to the location of your image file. In Reader you can use only PDF as your image file. In Acrobat you can use many more file formats: JPEG, PNG, etc.

  • I am trying to draw a signature, my old one deleted how to do this? I am getting a weird digital signature.

I am trying to add my signature to a couple of forms. It is not allowing me to do it anymore, it is putting in a weird digital signature. How can I draw a new signature?

I still do not understand what you're trying to do. Which group on the "Sign"panel you are using: "I need to Sign", "Get Others to Sign"or "Work with Certificates"? Which selection you click on? Is it "Place Signature" in "I need to Sign"?
If it is and you get a dialog to draw a rectangle, it means that you previously selected in "Place Signature" the "Use a certificate" choice. This is a digital signature of the same type as in "Work with Certificates". If this is not what you want, click on the down arrow next to the "Place Signature" (looks like a triangle) and choose "Change Saved Signature". You will get a dialog that allows you to change the signature type. Select the one that you want to use and it will be used in the future every time when you click "Place Signature" until you choose "Change Saved Signature" again.

  • Cannot use an ink signature

    Acrobat Pro 11.0
I have a signature image (jpg) set up, and have used it often to sign PDF forms.
Today I tried to sign a form in the customary way, and the "Place Signature" button only permits a digital signature. There is no way to find or use the image signature.
    What happened?

When clicking the "place signature" button, I was getting a dialog box for setup of a digital signature. Not what I wanted.
However, I solved my problem by clicking the drop down button to the right of "place signature", and clicking "change saved signature".  This got me back to where I needed to be, able to use again my picture of a signature in jpg format.

  • Signatures - two issues

Hi, all.  This behavior seems to be common to both Reader and Acrobat, so I figured I'd start here.
First off - Reader XI automatically renames documents when a signature is placed.  This is problematic, in that if a user wants to keep the name unchanged, they must manually delete the "-signed" part of the filename every time.  For users who deal with it dozens of times or more per day, this is not only a tiresome waste of energy, but prone to error.
I know others have commented on this, but I've not been able to find anything official from Adobe.  Does anyone know if Adobe will be changing this behavior, or at least giving us the option to turn it off?
Second - The document signing process itself seems to have lost functionality.  In version 9, when a user was signing a document, the button used to do so had a dropdown where they could pick from multiple signatures.  This does not exist in 11.  The "Place Signature" button simply reuses the last signature, and picking a new one requires the user to:
    Click the dropdown arrow
    Click "Change Saved Signature"
    Click "Use an image"
Click Browse and hope it opens up in the proper location, otherwise they need to navigate there
Pick the file containing the signature to be used
    Click Accept
Again, for users who need to do this dozens or more times a day, this is a tiresome waste of effort and time.
Example:  We have a secretary who is authorized by her department to place any of four people's signatures on a document.  She is required to process many of these documents each day, and depending on which of those four people she's processing for, she has to go through this whole process each time, instead of just picking one of the names from the dropdown like she used to be able to.
Is there some way to add back the functionality that was in the old version?
I've tried setting up multiple appearances from
Edit --> Preferences --> Signatures -->Creation and Appearance --> More
but I'm not seeing anywhere that those appearances are actually exposed for use.  The Place Signature option behaves the same even after creating the appearances, no new option shows up under the Fill and Sign that makes use of those Preference settings.  I found a posting (http://answers.acrobatusers.com/Saving-multiple-signatures-q82338.aspx) specific to Acrobat saying that this would cause a dropdown to appear, allowing the user to choose from the appearances, but again the behavior is shared between both Acrobat and Reader, in that the alleged dropdown never appears.

    Hi Stark,
Exactly....Even my list of signatures does not return anything with PSS. Like how you said may be there is no engine support. But is there any workaround for this??? How can i use PSS with RSA in Java 1.5??? Any idea??
And also in the JCE Crypto Spec, it is given that "For the new signature schemes defined in PKCS #1 v 2.0, for which the <digest>with<encryption> form is insufficient, <digest>with<encryption>and<mgf> can be used to form a name. Here, <mgf> should be replaced by a mask generation function such as MGF1. Example: MD5withRSAandMGF1. " but this also is not displayed in the list of signatures. Am I wrong in my understanding or over looking something or is it that java 5 has not yet started supporting if signature algos are given in this format. Any idea here too ??

  • Location of Preview.app Signatures?

In Lion there is the new signature function in Preferences > Signatures.
But I don't want to use a webcam photo of my signature, I have a high quality SVG ready to use.
Do you guys know where Preview stores those saved signatures?
And where the plist file is that tells Preview where those saved signatures are?
    Thanks!

Thanks to Tony T1 for finding the file location:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Previ ew.signatures.plist
You will need to have the right key in your OSX Keychain on the machine you transfer that file to or Preview will error that it was unable to decrypt your Signatures.
In OSX 10.8.2 it's called Preview Signature Privacy.
I would recommend backing up your existing key first (I copied mine to a different keychain).
Get info on the key on the originating computer.
    √ Show password.
    Copy the revealed password.
Get info on the key on the destination computer.
    √ Show password.
Paste the password from the originating computer.
    This worked for me.

  • Cannot add signature

Just downloaded Adobe Reader 11.0.10, have no idea how to add a signature to a document I am trying to sign. All the signature options are greyed out and unselectable, please help.

    HI andrec14474332,
You also can solve your issue like this:
1.In the Fill & Sign Tools, next to the "Place Signature", there is a small triangle. Click on it and you get a drop-down list with several options, one of them is "Change Saved Signature". Select it and you'll be presented with a dialog that allows you yo choose which signature type you want to use.
