Saving subblock diagrams in Autosequences

How can I export a subblock diagram in the *.sub-format in an autosequence?
I've used the SCHEMEEXPORT command, but it saves the whole of the DAC plan and not just the subblock.

Greetings "th",
The SchemeExport command in DIAdem will indeed save only the HIGLIGHTED subset of your DAC block diagram, but if you have not manually selected a section of your code with your mouse, then it defaults to saving the entire block diagram.
Every single action or state of the DIAdem environment has a corresponding variable or autosequence command which can be accessed programmatically. This is one of those cases where the command is very unlikely to be useful in an autosequence, since it was specifically intended for interactive execution. The one case where I could imagine this still working, is if you released the user to the DIAdem DAC window in InterationON mode. Then the user could select a region of the DAC block diagram and press the I
nteractionOFF button to allow the autosequence to continue.

  • Saved block diagram wont open

I am a new labview user so this may be obvious, but I have a problem nonetheless:
I have drawn a simple program and saved it but when I open it again, only the front panel opens and not the block diagram as well, which I wish to edit. I am openning labview on the same machine, same version etc. what do I need to do to get this working properly?
Thanks to anyone for their help

    Hi Dougonlabview,
Just press Ctrl+E. This will bring you to the diagram. Pressing Ctrl+E again will bring the front panel back on top.

  • Saving Sequence Diagrams in Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8

I'm having trouble saving my sequence diagrams! I create the diagrams press ctrl-s, click the Save-All button, when I close and reopen SJSE8 some of my diagrams are missing! When I look in the directory it appears that they have been saved because I have .eltd and .etlp files with the name of the diagram.
In SJSE8 I still have the entries under Model, but not under Diagrams.
It appears that the "link" or the "reference" to the file where the diagram has been saved is broken.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried what you said on both Windows 2000 and Windows XP but could not reproduce the issue that you have. Could you please provide more detail like the following see if I can reproduce in order to help you.
    - what UML project type did you create (Platform-Independent Model, Java-Platform Model, etc.)? If Java-Platform Model, did you associate a Java project for code generation?
    - how many sequence diagrams do you have?
    - are the sequence diagrams created inside the package or just under the Model level scoping?
    - do you have other diagrams in the project too? If so, what type and how many of each type?
    - any other info you can provide will help
    Thanks,

  • In diagram window, it SOMETIMES does not let me change to the writing tool.

Even I already stopped it from running. There were only three tools available, including the operating tool. I already tried opening the tool palette window, but I was still not able to select the writing tool. All I always did is to close all front panels and start them up again. This only happened sometimes but pretty annoying when having to start everything over. Any idea?

If you can't change tools, make sure your VI is in edit mode, and not in
run mode. To change this, hit Ctl-M or use the Operate menu.
If the VI is stuck in run mode, it may be because it is locked, password
protected, or was saved without diagrams.

  • Trouble with opening/creating Server Model Diagrams

I created server model diagrams by drag-and-dropping specific tables from the Server Model Navigator. Is it supposed to take a LONG time
for this step (e.g., 3 whole minutes for one table) or should it be basically "immediate"? They eventually made it, but seemed unreasonably long!
I saved the diagrams, quit, and come back to the repository, see the diagram names, click on a diagram, verify the elements inside, everything
looks good -- until I try to open the diagram, it (Design Editor) locks up every time!!
Does anybody know why I'm having either one of the above problems? Is there any setting I need to configure?
(By the way, I'm using Designer 6i with an Oracle 8.1.7 database.)
    Thanks in advance.
    Brenda

Could be your memory. Designer takes alot to run, as you may know. Minimum should be 256mb. Close all apps and try to open
the diagram again. I have had lots of trouble with my designer locking up!

  • Best diagram format to place in InDesign

    Hi all,
I am creating a few diagrams - circles, lines and text - in Photoshop that I want to include in the book I am laying out in InDesign (CS6). I have tried saving the diagram as a jpg, gif, tiff and pdf (no compromising) and on transparent backgrounds where applicable but frankly, they all look pretty terrible. In particular, the text is fuzzy (I have been using Garamond, since it is a generally considered to be a good print font) even when saved and reviewed in Photoshop.
Somtimes the size of the image gets changed as well; generally it saves larger.
Any clue on what I am doing wrong and/or the best file format to use? I would truly appreciate some experience on this. Many thanks!
    Linnea

Firstly, photoshop is not the correct program to be making diagrams in - you're better off using Adobe Illustrator - or if they are simple enough you can create the Diagrams directly in InDesign.
Photoshop is primarily a Raster editing program, in that it deals with pixels. Illustrator is a Vector program and allows a much better image that can be printed a lot sharper.
For photoshop diagrams  you would need a resolution of 600 PPI or in excess of that depending on the output for print.
    Why the image is fuzzy?
InDesign is a Page Layout tool - when you place an image into InDesign it doesn't place the image itself, but rather a proxy image that is there only for the purpose of layout. To view a higher resolution proxy (thumbnail) you can go to View>Display Settings>High Quality - again this is still a proxy image but should show it in more detail.
The image in photoshop might be very low quality - what is your resolution in photoshop and at what size are you placing the image? For example, if I have a 300 ppi that is 300x300 pixels in size in photoshop and Place it in InDesign at 300% it's original size it will be only 72 ppi - which isn't great for print reproduction.
    Correct format from photoshop?
PDF would be the best to use when saving from photoshop for diagrams - as this can contain vector information but this relies on you using
    Vector shapess in photoshop
    Vector masks in photoshop
Retaining all text layers as Text and not rasterising them
You can then save the file as PDF and be sure to tick Retain Photoshop Editing Capabilities.
But be warned that if you have black text and black lines, depending on your setup you may force those thin black lines into 4 colour Blacks which might make it difficult for a printing press (litho or flexo etc.) to keep in register.

  • Lv 6.1 crashing

    Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a rather annoying (and increasingly frequent) problem....
I have a program using several different modules for instrument communication (Spectrometer, filter wheel, monochromator etc) which has been running fine for a year or so.
Recently, I have problems with LV bombing out in the middle of a measurement.  No error messages from LV, a system-level crash.  I'm not used to this kind of thing.
Following pictures are details of ONE type of crash (it has two or three different "forms").
The dialogs appear in this order:
    Details on my system:
I'm using a dell (I've seen reports of problems regarding this before....), but the crashes happened on an old no-name beige box before also.
The VIs are saved with diagram on a network drive (Both PCs using WinXP Pro with up-to-date patches).
I am calling a DLL for a spectrometer interface, but testing this code on its own for several hours cannot generate a crash.
All other functions are built-in G.
It seems kind of fond of crashing in the middle os a gauss-fitting routine I've written (Heavily modified Levenberg routine).  This code has also worked without any problems since over a year.
I am using 3 RS-232 ports (Filter wheel, Spectrometer, Linear stage) and 2 USB ports (Spectrometer via DLL, Relay via Command-line parameters).
The crashes seem random with no single module causing the problems (except for the affinity mentioned above).  Sometimes I can even finish a complete measurement series (oooh) whereas sometimes I only get through 10 or 30 or 50%.
I'm at a loss currently.  I've looked at as much of the code as I can, and I can't see anything wrong.  I've even tried copying the code to new VIs, but this hasn't stopped the crashes.
    Please help....
    Shane.

I know 6.1 isn't supported any more, but It's been rock solid until now.....
Either way, it looks like we'll be upgrading to 8.2 soon, so I suppose I'll just hope that the errors will go away then.......
I was hoping that the error message could give SOME insight as to whether the LV core, Windows or a device driver was the problem.
    I suppose I'll never know......

  • Using Teststand, need to know how to select a different active x servers in the labview adapter configuration...

    Hi,
    When I open TestStand using a seq. file, I can see all the VI's that are called, but when I try to open them for editing, I see this message;
"The labview adapter is currently configured to run tests in an environment that does not support editing VI's. In order to edit or create VI's, you must select a different labview Active X server in the lab view adapter environment"
So, I clicked on all the options allowed to me in the "Module Adapter" (is this the same as the drop down menu (by default)"Labview Standard Prototype adapters") but I was still unable to open the VIs for editing
    Anyone know how or why?

    Hi,
You will find the option under Configure | Adapters...then select the labview and press the configure button.
So if you are not able to do this then it could be because your system doesn't have the LabVIEW development system or you do not have adminstrator rights (Teststand login) or it could be that your VI's have been saved without diagrams.
What are you logged in as?
Do you know if you have labVIEW?

  • Visio Web Drawing opens all hyperlinks in new tab

    Hi,
I created a diagram in Visio 2013 Professional. I saved the diagram as Visio Web Drawing to a Sharepoint document library. I use the web part Visio Web Access to display the diagram on a SharePoint page. The diagram contains some hyperlinks to other
SharePoint pages. However all the pages opens in a New tab.
How can I make the hyperlinks to open in the same window?
I set the Hyperlink.NewWindow property as FALSE in Visio, but it doesn't matter. It still opens in New tab.
I tried to make one hyperlink to another Visio page (in the same Visio file) by selecting sub-address, and this opens in the same window. If I make the hyperlink by paste the url to the SharePoint page in the Address Field, it opens in a New tab.
    Can anyone help?

It is by default that SharePoint 2013 Visio Service deals with  the hyperlink of Visio document. There seams to be no approach that Microsoft Visio keep the same location when it follows a hyperlink to open a Web page.

  • Integration with Visio

    Hi
    I'm pretty new to SCOM.
I've installed the Visio add-in with SCOM. (Followed tutorial http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.be/2010/09/scom-and-dashboards-part-iii-visio-2010.html)
But is it possible, to make a diagram (with data links) in Visio, and then integrate it into a dashboard in the SCOM console?
I've also tried saving my diagram as an HTML page. The problem is, the status won't update (it's just a static webpage).
Does anyone have experience with this :-)?

  • Sub VIs

Hello. I am quite new to LabView.
How do I make a sub-VI as a black box - i.e.. users cannot access the
subs, only sees it as an icon with connectors?
    Thanks for your help.
    Uno.

    > How do I make a sub-VI as a black box - i.e.. users cannot access the
    > subs, only sees it as an icon with connectors?
    >
You can save the subVI(s) that you don't want to allow access without
diagrams, or with the diagrams password protected -- assuming you have
version 5 or greater. Use the Save with Options... File menu item.
A word of advice, saving without diagrams produces the smallest file, but
it means that the VI only works with compatible versions of LV because
LV no longer has access to the code to recompile it. Saving with
passwords allows LV to have access to the code to compile for version
and platform changes, but doesn't allow for diagram editing or viewing
    unless given the password.
Use passwords wisely. If others will benefit from the subVI, the
    y may
benefit much much more by having the ability to modify it to suite
their needs. You can place your name or usage information in the
    VI description.
Also, users will still be able to double-click the icon to view the panel,
it is sort of the expanded version of the icon/connector.

  • Cannot build application with labview 7.0

I had built application previously using labview 6.X while some of the V.I. are without block diagrams, but I couldn't do that any more with labview 7.0 as a error will be prompted, why is this happening & are there difference in application builder between labview 7.0 and previous version? Must I load those V.I. without block diagrams dynamically now ?

Unfortunately it is impossible to build application with newer version with VIs without block diagrams, which saved in oldest version.
    from ni web site:
"National Instruments does not recommend saving VIs without block diagrams because LabVIEW needs the block diagram to recompile the VI after an upgrade. When you upgrade LabVIEW, you must find a version of the VI that includes its block diagram to recompile it. Such a version did exist before the block diagram was removed because it is impossible to create a new VI without a block diagram."
"Based on that information, it should be clear that once a VI is saved without diagrams:
You cannot open or run the VI on any other version of LabVIEW, older or newer."

  • In block diagram connecting wire getting blur while saving the VI in LabVIEW 2009

    Hello,
I am using Labview 2009, And while I am saving  a simple VI connecting wires are getting blurry. What could be the problem?? Is it affect my program while running?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Go into Tools>>Options, select the Block Diagram page and find the section called Constant Folding. If the CF for wires check box is checked, then this is most likely the reason. You can uncheck the check box and it won't affect the way your code runs.
If this isn't the case, you should upload an image of what it looks like.

  • Why aren't additional EF diagrams saved in source control?

In VS2012/VS2013, you can add additional diagrams to your EF model, which is a great way to control large models. However, when you do this, the changes don't show up in the Pending Changes window, and so aren't saved in source control. This means that if I
add a new diagram, no-one else on the team can see it.

    Hello Yossu,
    >>Is there a way of sharing these extra diagrams?
I am afraid it is not possible to share a diagram by source control(for exmaple,diagram1, diagram2...), as far as I know, source controls are used for files, while these diagrams we see in the model designer windows are just a visual display
of an EDMX file(more exact, it is a visual display of the ModelXXX.edmx.diagram file). All your operations against the diagram would be saved into this file, so if you want let others know you have added a new diagram from the Model Browser, you need
    to control the ModelXXX.edmx.diagram file.
