no more question and discussion

Wonder if my shipment was the last straw...
I ordered a 20" CTO in September, and after a lot of odd tracking results (namely a package that kept getting scanned in Richmond over and over again), Sameday told me that they couldn't locate the package. They went from telling me that "Chances are it should arrive in a day or two", to "it didn't turn up in Kelowna like it should have; as it weighs 32 pounds I'm assuming it's a computer?", then "as we have no record of your shipment you'll have to contact Apple".
I wonder what 32 pound shipment they've been scanning if they have "no record" of the shipment?
From what I've read/heard, Sameday is more of a freight and large shipment company - I'm guessing that they weren't prepared for the massive amount of small residential deliveries that Apple required. By all accounts, their tracking system needs work.
Anyways, Apple made it right; they've replaced my order and it's due to arrive tomorrow via FedEx International Priority.
IME, Purolator's great. Quick shipments that always seem to arrive on time, even in our little town.

  • Say good-bye to pirated computer games. Reasons for you to buy generic games!

    Found this article!
It is totally true. So many benefits of generic games!!
Please check its source here for more picture reference:
    http://happylifegreen.blogspot.tw/2015/01/say-good-bye-to-pirated-computer-games.html
    IT IS CHEAPER
One of major reasons for most people installing pirated games is because they want to save money. However, they are wrong! If they play it wisely, purchasing generic games can be much cheaper!
Thanks to this digital era; nowadays you can buy and download almost all games from internet. There are several major gaming platforms. Biggest ones are Steam, Uplay, and Origin.
Steam is the biggest digital platform which houses thousands of games in more than 237 countries and in 21 different languages. Uplay started with Ubisoft games like Assassin’s Creed series and now expands to a much wider range of games. Origin, on the other hand, is (currently) purely for EA games.
You can literally find so many game discounts EVERYDAY on these game platforms. Moreover, every now and then, they have big sales as well. For example, last month Steam had its holiday big sales which had more than 5554 games on sale!
It is common to see many, many 90% off, 75% off, 60% off… You need to be very self-constrained before you put too many games in your Shopping Cart! Haha!
Another good thing is that games in digital format do drop in prices.
In Steam, it is common that after a couple of months of its launch, a game will start to have discount, and then it will drop in prices. For example, when Thief was first launched in 2014, the price was US$59.99. But if you check it on Steam, its price now already dropped to US$29.99.
If you go to a retail shop and want to buy a box version of this game, the price will probably still be close to US$59.99.
On the other hand, if you buy pirated games. It could cost more.
Pirated games usually charges by number of DVDs, and one DVD costs around US$3.
Because of nice visual graphic, it is common to see games exceed 15GB—which will requires roughly 3 DVDs or more. One DVD cost $3; in another word, you need to pay $9 for one game.
Some games, for example, The Evil Within, requires more than 38.6GB of disk space. It will need, I’m not sure, maybe more than 8 DVDs? Which means US$24??
What I usually do is to add games in Wish List. When the game is on sales, Steam will send me email, and I will be able to track if I am satisfied with the discount percentage or not. Easy!
IT IS SAFE WITH NO VIRUS
This is easy. No one will argue that almost all, if not all, pirated games (or software) have malware hidden inside! There is no free meal. If you want to save money, you need to trade in something else.
I am not sure how those virus will do to me, but I don’t want it secretly downloading some funny stuff from internet, and definitely I don’t want my credit card or other personal info be stolen!
    YOU CAN CLOUD-SYNC GAME PROGRESS
Many games support cloud sync, meaning that you can go to any computer and start a game from where it left.
It is quite convenient. I have two laptops for home and office. When I go to a business trip, I can still continue my games from my work laptop.
In Steam, if you see a small cloud icon in front of games, it mean that the game supports cloud sync. The function works quite well!
    ENJOY TEAM WORK AND DLC
If you play pirated Battlefield 4 or Titanfall (and many others), say good-bye to team mode~
Quite a number of games—especially EA games— require you to connect to game server via internet in order to play in multiplayer mode.
If you want to play with friends or want to challenge other games, buy generic games!
Many games have DLC packs which allow you to equip with different weapons, outfit, or special items. Sometime, pre-purchased games give you these for free.
Well, no such benefits in pirated versions.
    EASY INSTALL AND UPDATE
How to install a game? You just need to click a “DOWNLOAD” button and then worry free. After installed, the game will update automatically; so you will always have the latest version of the game.
    HAVE A SENSE OF FULFILLMENT
Currently I have more than 140 games in Steam and many others in Uplay and Origin. I have quite a sense of fulfillment to see all those game icons in one place.
    GAMES WILL NEVER LOST
Years ago when there is no those digital platforms, you need to keep your game DVDs (or VCDs) well. Once lost, then bye-bye to the game. The same applies to pirated games that cannot comply with game platform.
If you own generic games, you will never lose them! You can change as many computers as you like; you can un-install games; you can buy-it-and-forget-it; you can keep games for generation for your grand-children. Those games will always be there waiting for you.
Once you want to put your hands on the games again, you just need to click “DOWNLOAD” button, and the game will alive once again!

So long, and thanks for contributing, in your way.

When you complete your current contract, Verizon has options on which incentives you would like to take.
You can sign a new 2 yr service contract by purchasing a new phone at a considerable discount(~$400+).
You can also choose to purchase a new smartphone on Edge at full retail cost for which Verizon will give you either a 37.5% or a 62.5% discount(depending on your data allowance) on your monthly line access fee when on the More Everything plan.
If you choose to simply continue using your current phone on the More Everything plan, Verizon ALSO offers the same 37.5%/62.5% discount(depending on your data allowance) on your monthly line access fee.
Of course, as with anything else, there are some which always want more of a discount than what is offered.
Hopefully, after you get used to the rates with your new provider, you won't then want MORE which they likely won't be willing to give you.
Good luck with the new provider.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • Saying Good Bye

    Hi all,
I have been a big fan of WebOs. But I just got my HTC Evo. I have to say Android is amazingly pretty amazing :-)
Actually a year ago I compared the Google G1 with the Palm Pre and thought Palm Pre is the clear winner. But now I have to say the opposite (compared to the Android 2.1/2.2). And even if the new WebOs 2.0 is great again (in 2011?) or even better, then we have to realize that the WebOS is like Betamax, pretty good, but it is better for all of us to have less" mobile operating systems.
One major reason I bought the Palm was also Flash, but it never came. Now I actually think mobile phones should not support Flash anymore and instead use "open" standards like HTML5.
Before I forget, dear Palm community, thanks for your all your help so far!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

    sapag wrote:
So what is better on Palm Pre compared to Evo Android 2.1 so far:
    - Better email app (unified inbox and Imap IDLE missing)
    - Better locking (android always 2.1 locks at screen timeout; no pin code possible, only "patterns")
    - Unified IM messaging
    - Better handling of open apps (card system)
    - LinkedIn app missing on Android
Better on Android: Hardware and Apps.
Just imagine, then, how you'll feel once HP/Palm releases new hardware.  Honestly, I'm finding this to be a theme: folks "leave" webOS to go to Android because of all the shiny new hardware, but then miss all the things that makes webOS so much better. Many return their Android phones and come back to the Pre/Pixi. I imagine that once we have new hardware, the defections will drop off entirely.
As far as the apps go, that's obviously in favor of Android in terms of sheer numbers. So far I only miss a handful of apps on webOS, though, and that should change once the microphone and camera APIs are released.

  • Why did rMBP suddenly shut down before the delivery man could say Good-Bye?

    Hi community,
Can you explain why an rMBP which I've just bought switched off without warning?
    Here's my story in details:
Proof that it’s new, how it all happened and my theories why it could happen.
This is the paragraph which proves that the item was brand new:
I got an rMBP delivered from a well-known shop-chain. I carefully examined it. It hasn't been unsealed in any way. I opened the so-called transportation box. Unsealed the Apple box. Cloth inside, scent, MagSafe sealed.
Now this is what I did to the MBP:
Pushed the power button. No reaction. Connected the MagSafe. Amber light. Now again a fact in favour that the MacBook hasn't  been used: It asked for initial settings: the language, region, name, password and so on. Inserted a a USB flash card to Identified the computer with some progs. As a prog didn’t unzip, I plugged in a USB Modem and entered Safari.
The MBP shut down. I touched the keys, reconnected the cord.
And this is what I can offer as explanation:
My guess 1 is: the MBP couldn’t work together with my USB flash card. It’s well-known MBPs don’t tolerate third-party peripherals. my USB flash card is produced by a respected firm, but it’s about 9 years old.
My second explanation is the mac didn’t like my MagSafe. I used a combination of the MagSafe from the freshest kit and the extending cord from my previous MBP which is 2008.
And the weakest excuse is the battery was so low that even plugging in couldn’t help. But I’ve never experienced that before.
The reason why I purchased this new device is the same problem which I’ve just described above: it also switches off.
Specs: APPLE MacBook Pro 13 ME864RU/A
    (Intel Core i5-4258U 2.4 GHz/4096Mb/128Gb/Intel Iris
The date of production: Febr. 2014.

    Barry,
Thank you that you let me understand how to sign with my name!
I can't believe those are my mistakes. These are two reasons why: 1) Experience reminds me, notebooks of all manufacturers can work even without batteries, and you, as Lvl 7, remember that no matter how uncharged the accumulator of an old MBP is, the device begins working as soon as you've plugged in the adaptor.
    2) The cord was standard. Old, but made by Apple. And it did work. Provided the poor Mac with power. The older extending part had successfully worked together with the thin cord of a new MagSafe kit I'd recently bought as well as with a couple of previous ones.
. "You used a bunch of stuff that did not come with it. "  And what bunch, Barry? One part of the cord only? Maybe you also mean the two usb cards! Then I can say they've never switched down any notebook. As for the first item (the modem), I've been using it for several years and had used a couple of its predecessors since 2008. And neither the second USB, the flash storage card, could cause a switch down too. I did have issues with one usb device, a no-name card-reader, but I couldn't notice failures caused by the two USBs that I've mentioned above.
The  delivery man isn't familiar to Macbooks, but at least he had worked for the company for a long time, and he said that the device died and it was he who offered to take it back.
Yet, I might admit your answer is right. Cause the forum has taught me that any supernatural theory which comes to my mind as explanation to yet another problem occuring to my old MBP is, in fact, reality which has already been described by the forum users:-)
So, have new Macs really become so tender and do I have to ask this very Macbook back?
      Nick

  • Off to recycling: Saying good bye to an old friend

I have an iBook G3 and an iMac G4. Both have carried me through great times. They have also both been replaced by their newer siblings. Time for the hear after. But before they go, I need to make sure all the knowledge which they posses is wiped for ever. I've backed up all the data, what is an good, effective way of deleting everything!!! Thanks

    amzadii:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The following procedure will erase the HDD. If you want completely wipe the HDD you can choose Security Options and choose the highest level of passes, although that will take a very long time. A simple zero will do for most practical purposes. An 7-way pass should be quite thorough for all but the FBI. The method below will leave the HDD without a formatted volume for installation.
Boot from the install CD holding down the "C" key.
    Select language
Go to the Utilities menu (Tiger) Installer menu (Panther & earlier) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
    Select Erase tab
Select Security Options button (Tiger) Options button (Panther & earlier).
Select Zero all data or whatever level of security you want. A 35-way pass could take days.
    Click OK.
    Click Erase button
    Quit Disk Utility.
Please post back with further questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • WiDi application: time to say good-bye to video cable

    Hey guys!
I've noticed this article from MSI TW Forum: https://forum-tc.msi.com/index.php?topic=113062.0
It's a useful information, so I try to translate it for you all~~I hope you like it
Before I introduce WiDi, I must tell you the MoBo I choose!
All those things started because I wanted to build a small HTPC for household multimedia in my new study.
At first, the HTPC I want to build is one machine with multipurpose for word processing, movie watching, and web surfing, sometimes for gaming. I don’t want to build an ATX sized PC, because it’s not suitable for my new study haha :P
After searching, I’ve noticed that most of the mini-ITX MoBos are normal spec without good performance, and it’s not measuring up to standards of mine…
Until I found this one! MSI Z97I AC!
I simply generalized the reason why I choose Z97I AC.
    Z97I AC support CPU: Intel 4th & 5th gen Core/ Pentium/ Celeron processor, RAM: DDR3-3000 (OC).
I gonna to said that OC Genie is a perfect function for me, who didn’t know how to overclocking but wanna enhance performance, all the things I have to do is pushing OC Genie button in the BIOS, then I can get a better performance immediately. It’s really completed my demand of playing game by a small PC.
In fact, this MoBo also have many advantages, so then I’m writing to tell you all those functions.
Z97I AC not only uses Military class 4 components to ensure reliability and stable performance, but also improves Click BIOS 4 and Command Center for users to easy experience.
Furthermore, Z97I AC support Intel Wireless 802.11ac module, so I can download files through the fastest speed of 802.11 AC. That’s so convenient to me, I don’t need to use any cable for connection between cellphone and PC.
After using WiDi, I really enjoy about that I can easily stream movie, music or webs on my big TV screen from PC without any extra cost event without any cable anymore!
    Requirements:
-Transceiver: A laptop, desktop, smartphone or tablet with Intel WiDi.
-Receiver: Intel WiDi certified receiver devices.
Desktop with Intel WiDi directly connect to display receiver in windows 8/ 8.1, we don’t need to download Intel WiDi update tool.
    Video of instruction from Intel:
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/widi-software-setup-win-8-1-video.html
But my PC is Windows 7 system, so I have to download Intel WiDi update tool software first.
    Installation steps
Step 1. Download WiDi update tool software (click link below).
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/wireless/wireless-display?_ga=1.266059727.1313661783.1404963634
Step 2. After downloading, double-click on Intel WiDi Update Tool.exe. It will scan the system first.
Step 3. Downloading with software 4.2.29.0 version.
Step 4. After readking EULA, click “agree” to run Intel Wireless Display Software
Step 5. Search WiDi certified receiver devices
Step 6.  Turn on the device
Step 7. WiDi device is found.
    Step 8. Connect with device
Step 9. Hit shortcut keys for projection mode.
    YEAH! Mission accomplished!
    The followings are my feedback,
    1. Now WiDi solution support Gen 4.
    2. Serious signal interference in 2.4G WiFi, especially in midtown, but it’s much better to switch to 5G.
    3. There are almost no postponement between PC and TV screen in 720P.
    4. It’s a little bit of lag in 1080P, but I think it’s fine.

Nice!!  but too many Chinese pictures
    hope I can succeed...

  • Is my drive saying good bye, please help.....project due

I have 5 Lacie BDextreme 500 externals daisy chained togather. Yesterday number three in line decided to not show up on my desktop and stayed in its blue blinking state. I restarted and everything booted fine.
Today, same problem. So I restarted and no drive again, the Lacie just stayed in a blue blinking state. I shut down and plugged into the front FW400 and also changed its power cord adaptor and it showed up fine.
I am now not working out of total fear and have a huge project due.
My plan is to order a G-Tech 1TB raid and do a transfer friday. I am not thrilled with Lacie of recent and think this may be a sign.
Any advice? Any thoughts on the G-Tech raid 0.
Im waiting for the Pro but its not available.

    Michele,
I don't know what to tell you about the G-raids, I've never used them myself. If you need to get your drive back wher your mac will see it again, try a program called "Disk Warrior". I use it to pull my 3-Lacie 500's back from the edge of death once every couple of months. It's not a permanate fix, but it'll let you get your data off so you can zero out the drive.

  • Fellow Canucks...Say Good-bye To Sameday Right-O-Way

Hey Guys...ordered my new 24" IMac last Thanksgiving Day..well, the 8th.. from the Apple Store Canada and it arrived through Purolator less than a week later from the States on the 13th. This is amazing considering that when I ordered my 20" Core Duo last Feb., it took almost a month to arrrive. Looks like our shipping problems have been solved by Apple Canada; it appears they have awarded a new contract to Purolator. By-the by, this new IMac is AWESOME. No dead pixels and just as flawless as my last IMac. Did a totally painless transfer through firewire and the assitant and I couldn't be happier. I would like to thank Daveed,(obrigado amigo ), for all his wise advice. He helped me solve some issues re: my last Imac. This forum and its supporters are the next best thing to owning a Mac.

  • Hey Good Bye MSI

    Hey,
Just wanted to say Good bye to everyone , I now with Abit , I got the Abit IC7-MAx3, and I love it , I got so tired if MSI 875, BIOS Problems. So I hope that everyone can fix the problems with there board..
GO Away MSI , and never come back again .
    Take Care everyone.
    Bye

Well... I can do nothing but to bid farewell... Hope you don't have to type the same thing in ABIT forum when you switch to ASUS the next time round .
Anyway, I'm also getting either the ABIT IC7 Max3 OTES or ASUS Dual P4 CPU mobo running on the i875P chipset for a test bed to run and compare the performance with my two other stable systems running on MSI 865PE NEO2 S mobo and MSI 655 FIS2R HT MVP mobo.
I shall see on how the results varies in various tests but it'll only happen in Dec... as the mobos here are Expensive !!!

  • Good Bye Safari ;(

I've come to say good bye.
I'm like Safari for so many reason. It looks great, the bookmarks are easy to use and well organise, the google search window, etc, etc
    However.....
I can no longer live with the unreliable way it deals with Flash. Almost all pages use flash now and it crash's all the time in Safari. Every time it does the whole app freezes for 10 seconds, I can't change tabs or windows.
I'm afraid I'm now using Google Chrome. Flash crashes less often, and when it does it only freezes the window that's affected letting me continue in other tabs/windows.
I hope I can return soon, just waiting for you to fix these problems.

If it crashes with Flash, fix the problem, especially since it also crashes Chrome. There are many postings with solutions. Safari hasn't crashed for over two years, the entire time I was beta-testing Snow Leopard, and I routinely view Flash videos w/o issues. However, your choice, since it's your computer.

So I goggle Verizon speed test I choose the “test my internet speed” It goes to “test your lousy internet to our business zoom-zoom fios!!!!!!!” http://www.verizon.com/smallbusiness/internetspeedtest/ Down 1.37 up .71 Now that’s interesting, as the speed is half of speakeasy.net website. So I choose the Verizon speed test on the left. http://www.verizon.com/home/fios-quantum-internet/speedtest.html down 2.90 up 0.71 Now the speed is almost the same as speakeasy.net Must be a mistake. So I run the test on each website several more times. Same results. Is it possible Verizon has deliberately throttled the business site speed by 50% to game the speed??????? Tuesday 27-May 2014, 07:49:56 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 2.89 up .78 Wednesday 28-May 2014, 07:41:56 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 2.89 up .77 Thank god it's Friday 13-Jun 2014, 07:43:39 AM Your IP: {edited for privacy} down 0.77 up 0.75 Speakeasy result 8/7/2014 8:53 AM 2.89 Mbps 0.76 Mbps 98.112.2.172 Los Angeles, CA 08/13/2014 Service has been sporadic or non-existent for the last five days. Again. 8/13/2014 7:59 PM down 2.46 up .76 new ip {edited for privacy} 8/15/2014 1:39 PM down 2.53 up .76 ip {edited for privacy} 8/15/2014 4:52 PM Now slowly connects to internet. Won’t run speed test. Just sits at preparing download test. 08/16/2014 Get email on my smart phone. Yes, my phone. Can’t get emails from the the dsl line, or net access. “Verizon is experiencing a service disruption”. Notice its Verizon, not the customers, who have the disruption. The best part is it tells the customer to go to a web site to check on the outage. The web page I can't access as the dsl signal is down. What does the web page say, you ask??????? “We are having a disruption of service and are trying real hard to get it back up”. Again. I have finally dumped Verizon “enhanced” dsl for charter.net cable internet access. I went from this: down 2.90 up 0.71(sometimes) To this: down 63.54 up 3.31 Sixty-three point fifty-four mbps Charter cable, internet only cable box What a coincidence, now that I have real “enhanced” internet speed, Netflix flys like a rocket. No rebuffering, no “internet service not available”, no waiting for the movie to reload if I fast forward/rewind. And the best part is……. Drum roll, Please rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.(cymbol crash)! Fri, 30 May 2014 01:31:59 an email from Verizon Dear Valued Verizon Customer, We realize you have choices when it comes to choosing your Broadband provider, and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being a loyal customer and for choosing Verizon. In order to continue to bring you quality service and product innovation, at times we need to raise our rates. Your monthly rate will increase by $3.00 That was all I needed to switch to Charter. So I’m going from $35 a month for slow and many times nonexistent service, to $40 for service that is 10 to 20 times faster, and doesn’t demand a bribe, err, a voluntary contribution from Netflix not to be throttled. And does anyone really believe Verizon position why net neutrality is bad????? Verizon Says It Wants to Kill Net Neutrality to Help Blind, Deaf and Disabled People http://billmoyers.com/2014/06/13/verizon-says-it-wants-to-kill-net-neutrality-to-help-blind-deaf-and... Verizon lobbyists are canvassing Capitol Hill with a curious new argument against net neutrality — it hurts disabled people. BAWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The sad fact is Verizon, and all of the copper wire providers can't wait to dump you. I also cut the satellite/cable TV plans, as 500 channels and nothing to watch. I live in L.A. and are fortunate to have FREE DIGTAL over the air TV. So I programmed my TV to the 15 stations I only watch, use netflix, or gasp, read a book!!!!!!!!! So, good-bye Verizon. Adious. Zoi geen. Adieu. Annyeonghi kyeseyo. Arrivederci. Auf Wiedersehen. Do svidan’ya.

I know your pain and at least you have the choice to dump Verizon and go somewhere else. I don't have that choice because of where I live Verizon are the only internet providers. I've been having line issues since they moved me over to their "enhanced" service last year. Two months after I was switched my speed began to get throttled down so I called regular support, no help there, then I came here and Executive Appeals took over my case. Man, was that the worst decision ever because they actually made my line worse; constant dropouts began a week after they began working on my line. The original issue was only the throttling, so it went from that to my line being barely usuable but E A refused to fix the problem they caused and stopped talking to me altogther, left me high and dry. Anyway, back I went to regular support and that has turned into a nightmare. No one listens, no cares and now they want to take away the 7.1M that I've had for several years because they think that is causing the dropouts even though I have repeatedly told them that the E A caused the dropout issue and that I never had any major problems with the 7 megs. Sigh, so now on top of still having the throttling issue and dropouts, they want to downgrade my speed. They have had me at 1mbps (as a test) and I still had the dropouts, so I don't understand why they're insisting on lowering my speed permanently when they themselves (MCO) know the lower speed did not stop/correct the dropouts. This has been going on for 10 very long months and I went from having a mostly issue free, good line to an issue filled, bad line...and it continues. This November will be exactly one year since this ordeal began.
Anyway, didn't mean to hijack your post! But I'm glad at least you could leave Verizon and go somewhere better.

  • Good Bye to my Bionic!!!!

I was an owner of a Droid Bionic for 5 months.  The Bionic was great for 1 month.  Then I had 4G connection errors, battery charging issues, and phone quality issues.  Many of my co-workers have verizon phones....and their phones (Droid, Droid X and a Bionic) were significantly faster connecting to the net, would get emails faster, etc.... My camera was terrible.  I had enough and went to my verizon store.  I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S3.  Holy Crap.....my new phone is unbelievable.  Super fast, I can get 4G everywhere now, phone quality is great, the camera is about 100X better than my bionic.  The Galaxy S3 was $199.99.  I got a upgrade discount of $50 and they gave me $52 for my *** Bionic.  The only negative....I had to give up my $30 unlimited data package.  I am not happy about that....oh, and I had to pay a $30 phone fee.   But......I love my new phone.....a highly recommend the Galaxy S3.  Good bye Bionic.....you were the worst phone I ever had. You will not be missed.

thats the right way : ) good job

  • Is the Creative zen micro a good bye or a bad

I heard alot of horror stories about creative zen micros freezing and the headphone jacks are not working so I want ask your opinion is the creative zen micro a good bye or a cheap urelieable mp3 player. I love the design and the colors and the extra features but is the player relieable or nice to look at but really senseti've. If buying the creative zen is going to be this big investment then maybe i should get an ipod its just the ipod seems so less in comparison. Please reply so that i might have a greater understanding on what to buy.

I agree with Kerndrone. People come here mostly to look for solutions to their problems. This constitutes a lot to the negati've talk. Also, how many would purposely come into a forum just to praise a player?
ipods aren't great either. I feel that they are just an overpriced piece of gadget with very few features - whatever the zen has, the ipods doesn't (i.e. FM radio/recorder,voice recorder, simple organiser) .On the other hand, whatever the ipod has, the zen also has (with the exception of games, which i think is dumb. An audio player, as its name suggests, it for the purpose of AUDIO, some SIMPLE games? it's so dumb, i'll rather play my mobile phone's, which has color, and nicer to view.)
Further, the Zen comes with much more accessories than the ipods - velvet pouch, craddle + stand + belt clip + charger + USB cable + earphones. ipods don't come with chargers, i think. The charger is pretty expensi've S$69, and the earphones cost S$49 if bought separately.
