  • IMessage saying 'not registered'?

    Well,
My friend recieved an iPod touch for her christmas and I wanted to set up imessage with her while speaking over msn. She got everying I did to set it up, like activation and that) and then e reached a bit of a problem. I typed in her e-mail address (which is correct) and it said that she is not registered with iMessage. I got her to put in my e-mail and it said this to her too. I have had my iPod for over a year now, it is the same genereation as hers and I have sent iMessages on it before so it isn't that my ipod is faulty or anything. Is there any solution to this problem? I have tried re-booting iMessage and it has made no difference.

Same story for me, but i my friend is my brother

  • Messages on iPhone 4s saying "not delivered" but messages are being sent...

I am having an issue with Messages on the iPhone 4s and it's been going on for the last few days or so. Every time I send a message to someone else on iOS it gives me the little "!" and tells me the message is not sent. It is doing that for everyone sending messages to me as well.
    Anyone have some insight?

When trying to send a message from my ipad some numbers say not registered with imessage. How do I register a number?

    Hi lkgallagher24,
If you are talking about registering your own phone number with iMessage, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Having trouble with the messages on mac my friends using it are coming not registered when i try to send them a message

having trouble with the messages on mac my friends using it are coming not registered when i try to send them a message

That's probably because they're not registered.
Messages only works if your friend has an iphone.
There is a workaround that can work, though.
set up an AIM account online.
in System preferences > mail, contacts, and calendars, enter your new AIM account.
in Contacts, on your friend's contact card, look for AIM. Enter their phone number right before that, with a +1 before it, and the area code:  i.e., +11234567899.
This doesn't always work. Their cellular carrier has to cooperate with AIM. Some do, some don't. If it doesn't work, tell your friend to get an iPhone.

  • SCCM client not registering on some machines

    Hello,
I am running across a strange problem that is only affecting some machines. We are imaging via OSD task sequence, 2012 R2 and some machines do not register properly with SCCM. When I say not registering, I mean it doesn't get its Site code and
missing most of its actions. Most machines that we image work fine, but the odd one doesn't register using the same task sequence that we use on other PC's. When I watch the task sequence steps go through I noticed that right after the installing SCCM
client step it boots right into windows. Basically skipping the steps we have set afterwards, the next step is to install some software (adobe reader, SCEP, and a few others).
I also noticed it seems to happen more often with certain model machines. I have an HP Z420 and an HP Folio 9470m. These consistently fail to register everytime I image.
I've tried quite a few fixes I found online, but nothing has worked as of yet. The most recent fix I tried was to delete the hardware inventory and then rebuild it. That did not work. Entering SMSMP= in the Setup Windows and Config manager step also did
not work. I also tried entering in our DNS server into the registry under the CCM directory. It appears something is happening during the client install (or not happening). But why only certain machines? Most work fine.
Our fix is to simply re-install the client after imaging, this solution has been working for us but I want to find a more permanent solution.
    Any ideas?

    Jason,
We have this line in the Setup Config Manager,
    PATCH=C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\PNS00002\Updates\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb2970177-x64.msp
Keep in mind, that this same task sequence works fine with most other machines. It almost appears to be model specific. Certain models definitely have more issues registering than others.
I'm still fairly new to SCCM, so if you need more from the logs let me know.

  • Showmount: new-host: RPC: Program not registered

I always have problem shutting down my solaris system, anytime i issue the shutdown command i always get this error "showmount: new-host: RPC: Program not registered" and the system dows not shutdown instead reboots.
    bash-3.00$ su
    Password:
    # shutdown
Shutdown started.    Wednesday, March  5, 2008 12:03:30 PM EST
Broadcast Message from root (pts/3) on new-host Wed Mar  5 12:03:30...
The system new-host will be shut down in 1 minute
showmount: new-host: RPC: Program not registered
Broadcast Message from root (pts/3) on new-host Wed Mar  5 12:04:00...
The system new-host will be shut down in 30 seconds
showmount: new-host: RPC: Program not registered
Do you want to continue? (y or n):

I think the shutdown command executes "showmount" as part of its execution process and if the nfs deamon is not running at that time, it produces this error. If you just execute "showmount", you'll see the same problem. Check this page:
    http://access1.sun.com/FAQSets/Solarisx86FAQs.html#14
You should execute shutdown with some parameters:
    # shutdown -i0 -g0 -y
    -y : non-interactive shutdown
    -i0 : init state 0 (for shutdown)
-g0 : grace period in seconds (0 for immediate, 60 by default)

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • When I send a message it says "user not registered"??

When I send a message on new ipad mini, it says "user not registered"??

Oh, sorry I didn't understand what you meant.
There are some third party apps that let you send text messages from the iPad - to any phone - Android or iPhone.
Some come with a fee or a monthly fee to send the messages. I don't know that much about the, but you can search the App Store or use a Google search.
    Here is one example above.

  • I'm trying to set up my Facetime but I'm getting a message that says my registering device does not have appropriate credentials

I'm trying to set up my Facetime on my laptop but I'm getting an error message that says my registering device does not have appropriate credentials. How can I fix this?

    katharina,
The specific circuit board I was talking about is the "Logic Board" which should have the serial number of your computer embeded electronnicaly.  Sometimes the technicians who replace this board do not bother to enter the computer's serial number into it after making the repair/replacement.  Probably because they don't think that it is important.  The only way you can have this done is to bring it back to the shop where it was repaired, and have them do it. On some Macs you can check the electronic serial number by clicking on the Apple logo on the top left hand corner of the screen, then clicking on "about this mac" then clicking on "more info" button on the window which will appear.  If you can't see any serial number, then your replacement board was not serialized.

  • Just got a new iPad but can't get it to do the text messaging.  Every time I put in a "To" address it shows a red exclamation point and says the name/number is not registered.  How do I register the people I want to text?

I just bought a new iPad and can't get the text messaging to work.  When I try to address the message a red exclamation point appears and says the person is not registered.  How do I register them?  They are already in my contacts list & they all are active in my iPhone text messaging.

Please Get the iPad User Manual for iOS 5.

  • Regarding iMessage.  Was working fine but now it says the recipient is not registered. So it will not send the message.  But the person is registered.  Could send them a message yesterday.

iMessage working yesterday.  Now it says the recipient is not registered and will not deliver message.  But they are registered.  Any suggestions?

OK.  Going to accept for now that it is a server problem.  Hate waiting though. Grrrr.

  • Tried to send iMessage from iPod touch (5th generation) but continuously says "contact not registered with iMessage". The contact IS registered with iMessage, but won't send any messages to anyone.

I have an iPod touch 5th generation (7.1.2) that has not been sending iMessages to other iMessage users. At first my iPod would not let me sign in to use iMessage, but I searched on different discussion boards that helped me log in. Now the trouble is not being able to send messages at all. I tried to delete the contact I was trying to message and restart the conversation board, but that didn't help at all. The contact continues to say 'xxxxxx not registered with iMessage" when, in fact, they are. I need help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

    Can you receive Message?
    If so can you reply?
Have you tried when connect to another network?
