  • New itunes download says file is corrupt and to reinstall

I KNEW I shouldn't upgrade, but I've been getting the notice to upgrade my iTunes for so long I finally went ahead...Well, since I did it over an hour ago I've been getting pop ups (I mean like a hundred of them by now) telling me that the copy of iTunes is corrupt or installed incorrectly and to re-install it.  I know NOTHING about all this stuff, but I imagine I'm getting that pop up every time it runs into what it considers a corrupt file.
I have music and covers that I've downloaded to computer then transfered them to my iPod (can you tell I know nothing?  I suspect I'm using all the wrong words), PLUS tons and tons of pictures and videos and I'm pretty sure the videos, and even some pictures I've edited, are being considered to be corrupt.  So it could be a huge number of files that it's seeing as corrupt.
I'm afraid to re-install iTunes, and I'm afraid to remove it for fear of losing my pictures and videos from my computer.  Is that possible?  The pictures and videos are in My Pictures on my computer.
The problem could also be the covers I've downloaded--through iTunes, mind you.
My questions, to boil it down, I think are:
What will I lose if I uninstall iTunes and reinstall it?  Will I lose what's in my computer, or just what's been downloaded to the iPod?
How can I find which files are corrupt, and once (if) I find them, can I just remove them from iTunes but leave them on my computer?
I hope this all makes sense.  If it doesn't, please ask me and I'll try to clarify.  Really appreciate any help you can offer.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

  • When trying to install Firefox in my laptop (Win 7) I recieve a message that says File is corrupt and I cant install it

I have a Samsung laptop with Windows 7. I tried to install Firefox several times and every time keeps coming this message "File is corrupt", not letting me open it.
Plus, I have the Norton antivirus and I don´t know if this is a problem caused by Windows version or the antivirus program.

First repair permissions and restart your computer.  Reinstall the latest version of flash player.  Again repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • TS1424 it says my song is corrupt and wont load can i get my money back or a new version of the song?

I just want to know how to fix the corrupt song

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • HELP my Ipod keeps on saying it's corrupt and wont restore

My Ipod won't restore by pressing both the middle button and the menu button. It say's it's corrupt. I think it might of died because i've had it for one year and a couple of months. If it has, what can I do with it?

"My Ipod won't restore by pressing both the middle button and the menu button"
That's not how you restore an iPod, that's the procedure for resetting. Have a look at this page for instructions on restoring: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Windows 7 says new firefox 4.0.1. is corrupt and wont open or run

I have Windows 7 on my laptop. I had to 'restore' after an intel update wouldn't allow an old exe game to play. I had updated firefox and explorer meanwhile even though I never use Explorer. When I restored firefox wouldn't open at all. When I tried to download new firefox, windows said file corrupt and wouldn't open when open anyway was selected. I now have loaded old firefox from thumb drive and downloaded update to 4.0.1 but Windows still says file corrupt and wont open.

i recently updated my OS to Mint 11 64-bit, which has FireFox 4.0.1, was plagued with annoying crashes for no apparent reason.
today i seem to have discovered the problem, i hope.
through the software manager i installed flashplugin-installer, after that i opened the browser, went to the add-ons section, disabled the Shockwave Flash 10.3 - d162, restart.
hasn't crashed since, crossing my fingers

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

  • Every time I try to download Firefox, it says the file is corrupt and then the download window disappears.

I can't download Firefox. Every time I try a popup says the file is corrupt and the download goes away. What do I need to do to make the download work?

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the <u>Desktop</u>.
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • I'm trying to download Mozilla Firefox, but everytime I try, the download is interrupted by a prompt stating the file is corrupted and it stops the download. Help!

I'm currently using Internet Explorer and it is SO slow. I went to this site and tried to download Mozilla Firefox. It begins to download and then is interrupted by a window that pops up and says the file is corrupted and it shuts down the entire download. This has happened about five times. Please help!

The Mozilla site. It's the correct site, I'm sure of it. I'm becoming EXTREMELY irritated with Internet Explorer and haven't even been able to really use the internet on my own laptop because of how many problems I have with IE. I've tried NUMEROUS times a day to download Mozilla Firefox and the SAME thing keeps happening. It'll get to about 3% loaded and say it's an Unknown Publisher and I tell it to run anyway and then immediately after that, it says "Extraction Failed: File Corrupt" and the download stops. PLEASE HELP. PLEASE.

My ipod and itune were working fine earlier today and before, but whenever i try to update to the latest verion the install says some install files are corrupt, and now my itunes suddenly no longer reads my ipod... djszapi wrote:1. "On my home partition I only found that viminfo got corrupted twice" Sometimes, it occurs by me too, I delete this file then, but it's a rare situation
    2. "I ran the system rescue cd and fsck'ed both partitions" -> Did you get any direct filesystem error message from the system?
    3. What happens if you try to delete the corrupted files and restart ? Does it become corrupted too every time?
4."X sometimes won't start, I get a black screen and I need to power down by holding the power button." -> Which driver/kernel/xorg version do you use ? I've experienced such a situation with the nvidia-185.18.31 driver.
Thank you for your quick response.
    1. Is it safe to delete the corrupted files in /var/log? I already deleted viminfo after it got corrupted the first time, but it happened again.
    2. In the rescue cd, fsck quickly said "it's ok" without checking. Is there a way to force it to check? The man page doesn't say. The longer check I get sometimes when booting ("hasn't been checked in the last X mounts yadda yadda") shows only "fixed write time in the future" from time to time.
    3. The Xorg.0.log particularly gets corrupted after the hard restart that I issue when X fails to start and a black screen locks up the pc.
    4. xf86-video-ati is 6.12.2-2, kernel26 is 2.6.30.4-1. xorg-server: 1.6.3-2. The black screen issue will be (I hope) solved in the other thread I made (link in first post), but I have the suspicion that both problems are very closely related (one is the cause for the other, or some sort of vicious circle.)

  • I bought a song, and it says the file is corrupted and will not download what should i do?

I bought a song, and it says the file is corrupted and will not download what should i do?

If you see the "Purchased" option on the main screen of the iTunes Store, here's what I'd do:
    1) Go into your library and delete the file if it downloaded. If not, go to your downloads and delete it from there to stop it from download.
    2) Go to the Purchased pane in the main iTunes Store section, locate the item, and try the download again.
Also, you may wish to turn off any anti-virus or anti-malware programs before you try this again, as that sometimes is what can be blocking the download. Otherwise, contact iTunes Store Support:
