Says I have no internet connection

My PC does not connect to the itunes store. When I run the diagnotic, it says I have no internet connection. I do have a wireless connection. I have an Iphone and Ipad. Does anyone know how to fix this on a PC? I have had this problem for months. Itunes would back up the phone, but I am not able to connect to the Itunes store, so I cannot update my songs, apps, or sign up for match.

It could be one of the three:
1. iTunes store is currently having a technical issue with their own server. Solution: wait and try later.
2. Does your internet explorer or other web application still functioning? It might be your own connection. Solution: Restart your modem and contact your local internet service provider.
3. Your iTunes may be corrupted. Solution: Uninstall your iTunes and download a fresh copy from apple website.

You posted in the iPad forum, but you profile lists an iPhone 4S. Does your iPhone or iPad have this problem.
Here's some iPad suggestions. Most also apply to the iPhone. Your iPhone or iPad may show the wifi symbol but that only shows the presence of a wifi signal. Not that you are connected.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

when you say there is an Internet connection have you used safari? Or does the phone just display a data connection (i.e. 3g/4g)? You could try a couple of things if it is the latter 1. turn off cellular data than turn it back on. 2. turn on airplane mode and turn it back off. I type these assuming you've tried resetting network connections.

I recently unplugged my imac and brought it to a friends to use. I used his wireless to surf the internet no problem. Now A few days later, I brought my computer back home and plugged everything in, I double clicked on safari and when it opened there was no website and I recieved the classic error "You are not connected to the internet." But the funny thing is My wireless says im connected. My airport has full bars, i have full service, so i would think websites would be working, BUT THERE NOT! Airport may have 4 bars however all that indicates is you have a Wi-Fi signal it does not mean you have an Internet connection though. You may have an issue with your modem, easiest thing to do is power cycle your router and modem then retry.

Google is my search engine it will not let me put in Google when I go to type for google it throws me on Yahoo no matter what Yahoo has pretty much taken over my Internet and I don't know what to do it it's a mess. Can someone please help me I am definitely not Mav Savy.

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:

It sounds like you are connected to the internet otherwise, but iTunes is giving you this error message when trying to get info from the Gracenote database to retrieve your album info. I had a couple of articles I wanted to recommend you try. First this one named:

Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
Make sure the Firewall is turned off.
