Says it needs an update, but says it's up to date...makes no sense!
First of all, why does the new version of Garageband seem to have less options in the software instrument section? Also, any time I go to look at the loops, they aren't accessible, you can see the "ghost" versions of them, and if you click on them it says you need to update it. When I try to update it, it says that my computer is up to date. I've tried downloading the updates for Garageband, but none of them seem to be fixing the problem...help me...please

When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

You must first buy Snow Leopard from Apple: 800-MY-APPLE (in the US)
Make sure your system meets Snow Leopard's requirements:

Have you tried restarting the iPad or resetting it and then try to update?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This should not matter - but at this point you might as well try this as well. Close all apps, restart the iPad and then try to update again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Restart the iPad. -

for some inexplicable reason, I cannot get the Quicktime plugin to update from v7.7.3 to the CURRENT 7.6.6 . My plugins view tells me I'm at risk and need to update but try as I might, through all the known update avenues, it won't take. I consider myself and above average Mac User. Please advise. Thank you
Someone recently noted a problem staying logged on the Huffington Post since it became connected with AOL. The workaround for that is to change your connection setting here:

Click the "Settings" button and choose either "No Proxy" or "Use System Settings" option, and OK the change.
Not sure whether Washington Post could be affected by that same setting.
In reviewing your extensions, I'm puzzled that you have both DoNotTrackMe and SavvyConnect. The first one seems to aggressively block certain communications with websites (potentially affecting functionality) while the second one seems to report on your browsing habits (they better pay well is all I can say). Have you tried disabling both of those to see whether that has any effect?

If your iPod touch is already running iOS 5 then you should be able to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 on the device with a Wi-Fi connection.

Hey there! So I plugged in my ipod to my computer and it didn't show up where it normally does. I need to update my song list. How can I make it appear? It doesn't come up in iphoto either. A few days ago my sis plugged it into another computer but I don't know if she synched it to the other computer, and frankly, she won't remember. Think about it... She plugged it in to another computer, she doesn't remember what she did (yeah, right), and now your iPod is not being recognized by your computer...

App Store shows that I have 9 updates but all Apps are up to date I have tried re downloading all the updates. All Apps show the correct version number post update.
I have the same issue with one App in the App Store. The app is installed and current. But the App Store says I have an update. I tried restarting. No help.

Numbers says I need to update, but Software Update says its installed?
I updated to Maverick a month or more ago.
Now when I open Numbers it says I need to update to the lates verstion (3.0)
But when I open the SoftwareUpdate app is says there are now updates available (or needed)
When I find the Numbers app in the AppStore is says Numbers 3.1 is "Installed".
When I open Numbers and check "About Numbers" it says "Numbers 09 2.1(436)"
Numbers will open, and I can work with my spreadsheets, but its getting annoying, and I'm worried something is screwed up between the AppStore Updates and the Numbers app....

After the update you have two version of Numbers on your Mac. The latest version is in your main Applications folder. The old version is in a subfolder name iWork '09. You are probably using the old version when you get that message. Try the new version and all should be well.

having trouble transferring audiobook from Overdrive Media on desktop to iphone. Popup says I need Itunes 11.1 or higher. I have updated the desktop and the phone (I thought) updated regularly. No need for updates showing.
If you go into iTunes and click on Help, what version number does it say you have? This message does not have anything to do with updating iTunes on the phone. iTunes on the phone serves a different function that that of the iTunes on your computer. It is referring to updating iTunes on the computer.

What should i do next if i messed up trying to shrink a disk with disk utility
